Description

[0001] LED RECESSED LIGHTING FIELD OF INVENTION

[0002]

[0001] The present invention relates to a recessed LED luminaire. More specifically, it comprises an LED panel for recessing into plaster ceilings, made of ABS and polycarbonate, equipped with a pronounced recess for the light source, a textured anti-glare diffuser, and a set of LEDs covered with lenses that aid in glare control. The luminaires allow for brightness variation through a dimmer (brightness control device).

[0003]

[0002] This new design features a quick-release connector that allows for quick connection of the luminaire to the power supply, and an optical assembly mounting system with brackets that secure the diffuser pack, all using screwless quick-release systems. This product was designed with a stepped recess that varies according to each model, from 25mm to 45mm. The ends of the piece that form this recess have radii that soften the connection between the faces. The installation clip is fixed to the panel without screws through cavities and is designed to ensure the luminaire's positioning in plaster or wood ceilings.

[0004]

[0003] The luminaire has up to five construction variations in sizes:

[0005]

[0004] 10W (200x200mm), 15W (250x250mm), 20W (300x300mm), 30W (400x400mm) and 40W (500x500mm), the latter being an unprecedented size on the market for this type of luminaire produced in plastic. All models were conceived following a unified design proposal, maintaining harmony between them. This is possible thanks to the staggered recess of the light source and the proportions that vary according to the dimensions of the luminaires without compromising the aesthetics of the set.

[0006] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0007]

[0005] A recessed LED panel is a ceiling light that incorporates an LED panel into a recessed, recessed ceiling fixture. Unlike surface-mounted or suspended fixtures, a recessed LED panel sits flush with the ceiling surface, creating a more discreet and modern look.

[0008]

[0006] These panels are designed to provide uniform and diffuse lighting in residential, commercial or institutional environments. The LED panel, composed of multiple light-emitting diodes, is integrated into the recessed ceiling structure, providing a broad and soft light source.

[0009]

[0007] However, current recessed LED panels feature larger bezels, no sharp recess, and no anti-glare lens, which do not provide visual comfort for users in the environment. Furthermore, most panels on the market are produced from aluminum rather than plastic, which results in a less refined finish and a heavier product, as well as a more costly manufacturing process.

[0010]

[0008] In research carried out on the state of the art, we found several models of recessed panel type luminaires, where we can highlight the following documents:

[0011]

[0009] Document US8523383 (Cooper. 2013) describes a kit for retrofitting a pre-existing recessed luminaire housing mounted in the ceiling plane, has double-sided tape that is disposed on the ballast mounting side for mounting the ballast to the upper base panel of the housing for fastener installation.

[0010] Document DE202008005048 (Nimbus. 2008) describes a recessed luminaire, i.e. ambient light, for mounting in the opening, e.g. ceiling, has overlapping groove between the illuminant parts and the edge of the opening, and the body holding the frame unit in the direction against the edge section surrounding the opening.

[0012]

[0011] Document US201 90086044 (Currente Lighting. 2019) describes a recessed luminaire for use in a building ceiling, has a bottom plate fixed with a light diffusion plate, where the edge portions of the bottom plate are fitted into fixing portions so that the bottom plate is fitted into the housing and does not move up and down

[0013]

[0012] These documents cited in the prior art describe recessed panel-type luminaires without a sharp recess and without an anti-glare lens, and in addition, they present a complex construction that makes the production process more expensive and results in lower product quality.

[0014] Thus, the present invention encompasses an LED panel for recessed installation in plaster ceilings, made of ABS and polycarbonate, featuring a pronounced recess for the light source, a textured anti-glare diffuser, and a set of LEDs covered with lenses that aid in glare control. The luminaires also allow for brightness variation through a dimmer (brightness control device), a quick-connect connector that allows for quick connection of the luminaire to the power supply, a mounting system for the optical assembly with brackets that secure the diffuser package, and a design with a stepped recess that varies according to each model, from 25 mm to 45 mm. The ends of the piece that form this recess have radii of 1.8 mm, softening the connection between the faces. The installation clip is fixed to the panel without screws, through cavities, and was designed to ensure the luminaire's positioning in plaster or wood ceilings. All models were designed following a unified design concept, maintaining harmony between them. This is possible thanks to the staggered recess of the light source and the proportions that vary according to the luminaire's dimensions without compromising the aesthetics of the set.

[0034] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0035]

[0032] The recessed LED luminaire, which is the object of the present invention, comprises a luminaire (100) that has a lower body (10), made of ABS and polycarbonate, provided in its external portion with a set of projections (11) for fixing the springs (20) and in the internal portion it has a set of projections (13) that allow the positioning of the lenses (30) and the fixing of the front body that closes the assembly (40).

[0036]

[0033] The lower body (10) has an LED board internally

[0037] (12) equipped with lenses that cover the LEDs (121), being compatible with a constant current source in dimmable or non-dimmable models. The plate (12) is fixed to the body using screws (122).

[0034] The lower body (10) also has a set of projections

[0038] (13) arranged along the internal faces of the structures in order to allow the positioning of the supports (14) for fixing the anti-glare diffusers (30)(30A) with a texture with small polygons that is suitable for controlling light.

[0039]

[0035] The diffuser (30) allows the light beam to be disseminated homogeneously.

[0040]

[0036] The diffuser (30A) is provided with a texture with small polygons, resulting in a low UGR index, which minimizes glare.

[0041]

[0037] The lower body (10) has a mounting system for the optical set of diffusers (30)(30A) equipped with supports (14) that fix the diffuser package, which ensures better rigidity to the entire set, avoiding shadows. The supports (14) are positioned next to the projections (13), allowing the diffusers (30)(30A) to be fitted and fixed on all faces.

[0042]

[0038] The supports (14) are assembled by fitting them together with the faces of the diffusers (30)(30A) and then the assembly (diffusers and support) is fixed using a quick-coupling system to the base using fixing points (13A).

[0043]

[0039] The lower body (10) allows its closure through the front body (40) through click projections (41) and guide projections (41 A) together with the projections (15) and guide projections (15A) of the lower body (10), so that when closing the front body (40) it is positioned together with the supports (14)

[0044]

[0040] When assembled, the luminaire (100) presents a sharp recess with rays that soften the connection between the faces (42) formed through the construction of the lower body (40) that provide greater visual comfort to the environment.

[0045]

[0041] The recess (42) provides visual comfort when the luminaire is on, as the recess (42) is equipped with a curved section that inhibits lateral reflection and controls glare, as detailed in Figure 10.

[0046]

[0042] The set of clips (20) is positioned next to rectangular projections (1 1) on the lower body (10) so that the clips (20) are fixed using a guide that ensures greater resistance to the set, facilitating the installation of the luminaire.

[0047]

[0043] The luminaire (100) in other construction variations presents the same internal construction, however it describes a greater number of projections (1 1 ) for the positioning of the clips (20).

[0048]

[0044] In a second construction modality, the LED board (12A) has a reduced number of LED points (121 A) that are covered with lenses, as detailed in Figure 12.

[0049] In a third construction modality, the LED board (12A) is replaced by LED tracks (12B) equipped with LED points (121 B) that have a lens covering, as detailed in Figure 13.

[0050]

[0045] The luminaire is equipped with a dimmable or non-dimmable LED board (12)(12A), which allows for greater variability in application and use.
