Description

[0001] "PACK FOR SMOKING ARTICLES"

[0002] CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS

[0003] This Patent Application claims priority from Italian Patent Application No. 102024000000591 filed on January 15, 2024, the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference .

[0004] TECHNICAL FIELD

[0005] The present industrial invention patent application relates to a pack for smoking articles.

[0006] In particular, the present industrial invention patent application relates to a pack for smoking articles of the rigid type and with hinged lid.

[0007] It is specified that the term "smoking article" is intended to mean an article of the tobacco industry, such as, for example, traditional cigarettes, heat-not-burn type cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, filters. In the description that follows, reference will be made to cigarettes, but without thus losing its general nature.

[0008] PRIOR ART

[0009] Cigarette packs of the rigid type and with hinged lid are currently the most widely used on the market, since they are simple to manufacture, easy and practical to use and offer good protection for the cigarettes contained inside them.

[0010] A rigid cigarette pack with hinged lid comprises a group of cigarettes wrapped in a sheet of metallic paper to define an internal wrap and an external container that houses the inner wrap; the external container is shaped like a cup, has an open upper end, and is provided with a lid, which is also shaped like a cup and is hinged to the external container along a hinge to rotate, with respect to the external container itself, between an open position and a closed position of the open end. A collar is normally provided, which is folded and connected to the inside of the external container so as to protrude partially out of the open end and to engage a corresponding inner surface of the lid when the lid itself is arranged in the closed position.

[0011] Normally, the container has a substantially equal dimension to the group of cigarettes, in order to house the internal wrap without any appreciable clearance. However, in several embodiments, the external container is larger than the internal wrap that is housed in said external casing, in order to create an empty space in the external container in which to house an accessory (for example a lighter or matches). In these embodiments, access to the cigarettes is difficult if the collar has a small break or has no break at all.

[0012] DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] The object of the present invention is to provide a pack for smoking articles provided with a hinged lid that is adapted to contain an accessory that can be extracted easily and, at the same time, is easy and economical to manufacture.

[0014] In particular, an object of the present invention is to provide a pack configured to contain both smoking articles (with longitudinal extension wrapped by a wrap) and accessories or other articles for tobacco, for example articles for oral use, filters or similar.

[0015] According to the present invention, a pack for smoking articles is provided in accordance with what is cited in the appended claims.

[0031] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

[0032] In Figures 1-5, the number 1 indicates, in its entirety, a pack for smoking articles. The term "smoking article" is intended to mean any product of the tobacco industry, such as, for example, traditional cigarettes, heat-not-burn type cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarette cartridges, filters.

[0033] Reference will be made below to a cigarette pack 1 of the rigid type, but without thus losing the general nature.

[0034] The cigarette pack 1 comprises an external container 2 made of rigid material. In particular, the container 2 is made of paper material, such as cardboard or rigid cardboard. The container 2 has been manufactured, in a known way, starting with a single blank 60 (Figure 9) opportunely folded, as will be described in further detail below.

[0035] The container 2 has the shape of a regular parallelepiped with rectangular base. The container 2 has a longitudinal axis XI and comprises a cup-shaped body 3 and a lid 4. In the description that follows, terms such as high, low, upper, lower or similar are used with reference to the arrangement of a closed pack 1 that is arranged resting with its own base 5 on a plane nl.

[0036] The cup-shaped body 3 comprises: a bottom wall 5, which is also the base 5 of the container 2 and has a rectangular shape; two side walls 6 and 7 opposite to each other, identified below as front wall 6 and rear wall 7; and two side walls 8, 9 opposite to each other and with smaller dimensions than the two side walls 6, 7. The side walls 6, 7, 8, 9 of the cup-shaped body 3 protrude, along the longitudinal axis XI, from the same side of the bottom wall 5 and delimit a volume VI that houses a wrap 20 and a box 30. The wrap 20 contains a group of cigarettes C. The box 30 may be empty or contain a choice of accessories, such as: lighters, other types of tobacco articles, such as, for example, articles for oral use or filters (as will be described in further detail below), or any other object, such as, for example, a card, an illustrative leaflet, a coupon, a sachet with dissolvable aromatic sheets, or other.

[0037] According to the example shown, the volume VI has a front chamber R1 and a rear chamber R2 communicating with each other and divided by an imaginary plane n2 parallel to the front wall 6. According to the example shown, the front chamber R1 and the rear chamber R2 equally divide the volume VI; in other words, each chamber Rl, R2 occupies 50% of the volume VI. According to a variant not shown, the division of the space between the chambers Rl and R2 may be different.

[0038] The wrap 20 occupies the front chamber R1 and the box 30 occupies the rear chamber R2. In other words, the wrap 20 is interposed between the box 30 and the front wall 6 of the cup- shaped body 3.

[0039] The volume VI faces the outside through an opening 01 that is delimited by the edges bl, b2, b3, b4 of the upper ends of the side walls 6, 7, 8, 9. The cup-shaped body 3 also has longitudinal edges si between the side walls 6, 7, 8, 9 and transverse edges tl between the side walls 6, 7, 8, 9 and the bottom wall 5.

[0040] The side walls 6, 7, 8, 9 of the cup-shaped body 3 are portions of respective side walls of the container 2.

[0041] The cover 4 comprises: an upper wall 10; two side walls 11 and 12 opposite to each other, identified below as front wall 11 and rear wall 12; and two side walls 13, 14 opposite to each other and with smaller dimensions than the two side walls 11, 12. The side walls 11, 12, 13, 14 of the lid 4 protrude, along the longitudinal axis XI, from the same side of the upper wall 10 and delimit a volume V2. The volume V2 faces the outside through an opening 02 that is delimited by the edges b5, b6, b7, b8 of the lower ends of the side walls 11, 12, 13, 14. The lid 4 also has longitudinal edges s2 between the side walls 11, 12, 13, 14 and transverse edges t2 between the side walls 11, 12, 13, 14 and the upper wall 10. The side walls 11, 12, 13, 14 are portions of respective side walls of the container 2.

[0042] The upper wall 10 is parallel to the bottom wall 5. The side walls 11,12, 13, 14 protrude from the upper wall 10 towards the bottom wall 5. The front wall 6 and the rear wall 7 of the cup-shaped body 3 are coplanar to the front wall 11 and, respectively, to the rear wall 12 of the lid 4. The side walls 8, 9 of smaller dimensions to the cup-shaped body 3 are coplanar to the side walls 13 and, respectively, 14, of the lid 4.

[0043] According to the example shown and in a non-limiting manner, the height hl (in other words, the extension along axis XI) of the front wall 11 of the lid 4 is complementary to the height h2 of the front wall 6 of the cup-shaped body 3. Similarly, the height h3 of the rear wall 12 of the lid 4 is complementary to the height h4 of the rear wall 7 of the cupshaped body 3. According to the example shown and in a nonlimiting manner, the height h2 of the front wall 6 is lower than the height h4 of the rear wall 7 of the cup-shaped body 3.

[0044] The lid 4 is hinged to the cup-shaped body 3 along a hinge line 100 interposed between the rear wall 7 of the cup-shaped body 3 and the rear wall 12 of the lid 4. According to the example shown, the hinge line 100 is parallel to the bottom wall 5. The cup-shaped body 3 and the lid 4 are aligned so that, when the lid 4 is closed (Figures 1 and 2), the container 2 has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped.

[0045] When the lid 4 is closed (Figures 1, 2): the longitudinal edges si of the cup-shaped body 3 are aligned with the longitudinal edges s2 of the lid 4; the edges b3, b4 of the side walls 8 and 9 of the cup-shaped body 3 and the edges b7, b8 of the side walls 13 and 14 of the lid 4 are sloped with respect to the bottom wall 5.

[0046] According to the example shown, the edges si and s2 are straight, according to the variants not shown the edges s2 and s2 can be bevelled and / or rounded.

[0047] According to what is shown in Figures 3 to 5, the pack 1 also comprises a rigid collar 15 (made from paper or cardboard), that protrudes upwards from the opening 01 of the cup-shaped body 3. The collar 15 is fixed, in a known way, inside the cup-shaped body 3 and is configured, in a known way, to engage the lid 4 at least partially when the pack 1 is closed.

[0048] According to what is shown in figures 3 and 11, the collar 15 comprises a front wall 16, which is connected to the front wall 6 of the cup-shaped body 3. When the pack 1 is closed, the front wall 16 of the collar 15 is in contact with the front wall 11 of the lid 4. The collar 15 also comprises two side walls 17 and 18, which are connected to the side walls 8 and, respectively, 9 of the cup-shaped body 3. When the pack 1 is closed, the side walls 17 and 18 of the collar are in contact with the side walls 8 and, respectively, 9 of the lid 4. According to the example shown, the front wall 16 of the collar 15 has a pair of hooks 19 that protrude laterally to engage by interference the side walls 13 and 14 of the lid 4 when the pack 1 is closed. According to a variant not shown, the collar 15 has no hooks.

[0049] In Figures 3 to 7, a wrap 20 of the known type is shown schematically. The wrap 20 contains a group of smoking articles C, in particular a group of cigarettes C. The wrap 20 has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped and has a longitudinal axis X2 parallel to the longitudinal axis XI of the container 2. The wrap 20 is made from flexible material (for example paper or a thin plastic film), in particular by means of folding and possible gluing of a sheet of paper-based material (such as tinfoil) or of the plastic type. In the figures, the wrap 20 has a removable portion 21, in particular tear-off and generally called "pull". The removable portion 21 is arranged at the upper end of the wrap 20 and must be removed at the first opening of the pack 1 of cigarettes in order to access the group of cigarettes C. According to a variant not shown, the wrap 20 may be made from a single sheet and not have the tear-off opening system.

[0050] In particular, the wrap 20 is delimited externally by: a bottom 22, which is parallel to the bottom wall 5 of the cupshaped body 3; two side walls 23 and 24 opposite to each other, identified below as front wall 23 and rear wall 24; two side walls 25, 26 opposite to each other and with smaller dimensions than the two side walls 23, 24; and an upper wall 27 parallel to the bottom 22. The bottom 22, the side walls 23, 24, 25, 26 and the upper wall 27 delimit a cavity that houses the group of cigarettes C. According to the example shown in the figures, the wrap has closure folds, i.e. zones of superimposition and possible gluing of flaps of material, for example paper, on the bottom 22 and on the upper wall 27.

[0051] The wrap 20 is housed inside the chamber R1 without constraints. In particular, the wrap 20 is free to translate along a direction D parallel to the longitudinal axis XI of the container 2 (Figures 4 and 5).

[0052] The wrap 20 is connected by means of a coupling by shape and / or interference with the box 30. Advantageously, the box 30 is configured to allow translation of the wrap 20 along the direction D, as will be shown in further detail below.

[0053] The box 30 is made from rigid material; in particular, the box

[0054] 30 is made from cardboard. The box 30 has the shape of a rectangular parallelepiped with a longitudinal axis X3, which is parallel to the longitudinal axis XI of the container 2. The box 30 has an internal cavity

[0055] 31. The cavity 31 of the box 30 can be empty or can be filled with objects of choice. By way of non-limiting example, the box 30 can be filled with accessories such as lighters, papers, filters or with other types of tobacco articles such as products for oral use (snus), or any other object, such as, for example, a card, an illustrative leaflet, a coupon, a sachet with dissolvable aromatic sheets, or other.

[0056] In particular, the box 30 is delimited externally by: a bottom

[0057] 32, which is parallel to the bottom wall 5 of the cup-shaped body 3; two side walls 33 and 34 opposite to each other, identified below as front wall 33 and rear wall 34; two side walls 35, 36 opposite to each other and with smaller dimensions than the two side walls 33, 34; and an upper wall 37 parallel to the bottom 32. The bottom 32, the side walls

[0058] 33, 34, 35, 36 and the upper wall 37 delimit the cavity 31 (Figure 8).

[0059] Advantageously, the pack 1 comprises a mechanism 40 that is configured to translate the box 30 along the direction D, exploiting the rotation of the lid 4 around the hinge 100.

[0060] According to the example shown, the mechanism 40 is obtained with a respective part of the box 30. In particular, the rear wall 34 of the box 30 has two incisions 41, 42 parallel to each other and that extend from the upper end of the rear wall 34 along the longitudinal axis X3 for a height h5. The incisions 41 and 42 delimit laterally a flap 43. The flap 43 is part of the box 30. The flap 43 has a weakening line 44 parallel to the bottom 32 of the box 30. The weakening line 44 divides the flap 43 into two parts, identified here below as upper portion 45 and lower portion 46. The weakening line 44 is arranged along the flap 43 at a height h5' from the upper end of the lower wall 34 along the longitudinal axis X3.

[0061] Advantageously, the height h5' is higher than the height h6 of the section in which lid 4 and box 30 are parallel when the pack 1 is closed (h5'>h6).

[0062] The maximum translation obtainable by the mechanism 40 is a function of the height h5' of the weakening line. In particular, the maximum translation (tmax) obtainable is: tmax=2* (h5'-h6).

[0063] The upper portion 45 is fixed, in particular glued, to the inner surface of the rear wall 12 of the lid 4. The lower portion 46 is fixed to (in particular is an integral part of) the rear wall 34 of the box 30. When the lid 4 is made to rotate around the hinge line 100, the upper portion 45 rotates around the weakening line 44, making the lower portion 46 translate upwards and lifting the box 30. According to a variant not shown, a weakening line is positioned at the height h5 (in other words, it is positioned at the lower end of the flap 43); in this case, when the lid 4 is made to rotate around the hinge line 100, the lower portion 46 roto- translates. According to a variant not shown, the mechanism 40 can be a separate component solidly constrained to the lid 4 and to the box 30.

[0064] The mechanism 40 can provide for points of union 47 obtained along the incisions 42, 43 and configured to be broken at the moment of first opening of the pack 1.

[0065] The pack 1 further comprises a coupling unit 50 that is configured to solidly constrain the wrap 20 to the box 30. According to the example shown in the figures, the coupling unit 50 is part of the box 30. In particular, the coupling unit 50 comprises an abutment element 51 that protrudes from the front wall 33 of the box 30. The abutment element 51 is configured to couple a respective portion of the wrap 20. According to the example shown, the abutment element 51 is a rigid wall parallel to the bottom 32. The extension of the abutment element 51 is such as to protrude inside the front chamber R1 close to the bottom 5 and to engage, at least partially, the bottom 22 of the wrap 20. According to what is shown in the figures, the wrap 20 is inserted inside the front chamber R1 resting on the abutment element 51. In this manner, advantageously, when the pack 1 is opened, the box 30 translates in the direction D upwards and the abutment element 51 pushes the wrap 20 upwards.

[0066] Advantageously, the pack 1 can optionally comprise glue points 52 (shown in Figure 13 on the front wall 33 of the box 30) that fix the wrap 20 and the box 30 to each other. Advantageously, use of the glue points 52 ensures the return of the wrap 20 to the lower position Pl when the lid is rotated around the first hinge line 100 from the open position to the closed position.

[0067] Advantageously, as shown in Figures 4 and 5, the wrap 20 and the container 30 are movable along the longitudinal axis X from a lower position Pl (Figure 4) to an upper position P2 (Figure 5) and vice versa.

[0068] According to the example shown, the wrap 20 and the box 30 have the same longitudinal extension. According to variants not shown, the wrap 20 and the box 30 can have longitudinal extensions different to each other.

[0069] According to what is shown in Figure 9, the container 2 is obtained by folding a rigid blank 60 of the conventional type having a plurality of pre-weakened lines, indicated here below as folding lines 61. In particular, the blank 60 comprises two longitudinal folding lines 61 and a plurality of transverse folding lines 62. The longitudinal folding lines 61 and the transverse folding lines 62 divide inside the blank 60: a panel 6' that forms the front wall 6 of the cup-shaped body; a panel 5' that forms the bottom wall 5 of the cup-shaped body 3; a panel 7' that forms the rear wall 7 of the cup-shaped body 3; a panel 12' that forms the rear wall 12 of the lid 4; a panel 10' that forms the upper wall 10 of the lid 4; a panel 11' that forms the front wall 11 of the lid 4; and a reinforcement flap 11".

[0070] The reinforcement flap 11" is connected to the front wall 11 of the lid 4 along a transverse folding line 101, is folded by 180° (in the cigarette pack 1) with respect to the front wall 11 of the lid 4 (i.e. with respect to the panel 11'), and is resting on and glued to an inner surface of the front wall 11 of the lid 4.

[0071] The blank 60 comprises a pair of tabs 9'' and 8'', which are arranged on opposite sides of the panel 6', are connected to the panel 6' along the two longitudinal folding lines 61, and form part of the side walls 8, 9 of the cup-shaped body 3.

[0072] The blank 60 comprises a pair of tabs 9'’ and 8'’, which are arranged on opposite sides of the panel 7’, are connected to the panel 7' along the two longitudinal folding lines 61, form part of the side walls 8 and 9 of the cup-shaped body 3, and are superimposed on and glued to the corresponding tabs 8' and 9' to form the side walls 8 and 9 of the cup-shaped body 3.

[0073] The blank 60 comprises two flaps 5'’ that are connected to the tabs 8'' and 9'’ along a transverse folding line 62, are folded by 90° and are rested on an inner surface of the panel 5'.

[0074] The blank 60 comprises a pair of tabs 11'', which are arranged on opposite sides of the panel 11', are connected to the panel 11' along the two longitudinal folding lines 61, and form part of the side walls 13 of the lid 4.

[0075] The blank 60 comprises a pair of tabs 12'', which are arranged on opposite sides of the panel 12', are connected to the panel 12' along the two longitudinal folding lines 61, form part of the side walls 13 and 14 of the lid 4, and are superimposed on and glued to the corresponding tabs 11'' to form the side walls 13 and 14 of the lid 4.

[0076] The blank 60 comprises two flaps 10'' that are connected to the tabs 12'’ along a transverse folding line 62, are folded by 90° and are rested on an inner surface of the panel 10'.

[0077] According to the example shown in Figure 10, the collar 15 is obtained by folding the blank 70 that has the pre-weakened longitudinal folding lines 71 that define a central panel 16' and two side panels 18' that form respectively the front wall 16 and the side walls 17 and 18 of the collar. In the example shown, the blank has two notches 19 that protrude at the sides of the central panel 16'. According to variants not shown, the collar 15 can have different shapes and / or dimensions.

[0078] According to what is shown in Figure 11, the box 30 is obtained by folding a rigid blank 80 (in cardboard) that has a plurality of pre-weakened longitudinal folding lines 81 that define: a panel 35' that forms the side wall 35; a panel 33' that forms the front wall 33; a panel 36' that forms the side wall 36; a panel 34' that forms the rear wall 34; and a flap 38' that protrudes laterally from the panel 35'. In use, the flap 38' is folded by 90° and is glued to an inner surface of the panel 34’.

[0079] The blank 80 has a plurality of pre-weakened transverse folding lines 82 that define: a tab 37' that protrudes superiorly from the panel 33'; a tab 37'’ that protrudes superiorly from the panel 34'; a tab 83 that protrudes inferiorly from the panel 35'; a tab 32' that protrudes inferiorly from the panel 33'; a tab 84 that protrudes inferiorly from the panel 36'; and a tab 32'’ that protrudes inferiorly from the panel 34'.

[0080] The blank 80 also has: a superimposition zone G1 delimited on the flap 38'; a superimposition zone G2 delimited on the panel 37’’; a superimposition zone G3 delimited on the upper portion 45 of the flap 43; and a superimposition zone G4 delimited on the panel 32’’.

[0081] In order to form the upper wall 30 of the box 30, the tabs 37' e 33’’ are folded so as to be superimposed (with the flap 33’’ arranged inside) and to adhere, in particular to be glued, to each other at the superimposition zone G2 (G2 may also be defined as the adhesion zone).

[0082] In order to form the bottom 32 of the box 30, the tabs 83, 32', 84 and 32'’ are folded by 90 degrees so as to be superimposed (with the tab 32'’ arranged inside the tab 32') to adhere, in particular to be glued, to each other at the superimposition zone G4. Advantageously, the blank 80 has a notch 48 that interrupts the folding line 82 between the panel 33’ and the panel 32'. The notch 48 protrudes from the line 82 upwards to delimit a portion of the blank 80 that is not folded at the moment when the box 30 is constructed and that, in use, remains coplanar to the bottom 32. The shape of the notch 48 determines the edge of the abutment element 51. According to the example shown, the notch 48 has an inverted U shape.

[0083] The blank 80 shown in Figure 11 obtains a box 30 closed superiorly (Figures 7 and 8).

[0084] A variant of the blank 80'’ according to the present invention is shown in Figure 12. The blank 80'' obtains a box 30 open superiorly (Figure 14). In particular, such box 30'’ has an upper wall 37 that leaves an opening at the upper end of the box 30'’. Such upper wall 37 can possibly be torn off the rest of the box 30'’. The elements in common of the blank 80'’ with the blank 80 described above maintain the same numbering here below and in the figures and are not repeated for brevity's sake. In particular, the blank 80'’ comprises a tab 39', that protrudes superiorly from the panel 33’, and a tab 39'’, that protrudes superiorly from the panel 34'. The blank 80'’ has transverse and pre-weakened lines 85 interposed between each tab 39', 39'’ and the panel 33’ and, respectively, 34'. Each tab 39', 39'’ has a width, or a transverse extension, below the one of the respective panel 33’ and, respectively, 34', so as to leave an empty space above the panels 33’, 36' and 34'. Furthermore, the blank 80'’ has a mechanism 40 obtained with the same components already described above and not repeated for brevity's sake, in which the incision lines 41 and 42 and the flap 43 have a different shape.

[0085] In this manner, as shown in Figure 14, the box 30'' obtained with the blank 80'’ has an upper opening 86 through which it is possible to access the inner cavity 31 directly.

[0086] Advantageously, the box 30, 30'’ is inserted inside the rear chamber R2 of the pack 1 and is connected to the lid 4. Thanks to the presence of the mechanism 40: when the lid 4 is opened, the box 30, 30'’ translates longitudinally upwards into the upper position P2; when the lid 4 is closed, the box 30, 30'’ translates longitudinally downwards into the lower position Pl.

[0087] The wrap 20 of the cigarettes is inserted inside the front chamber R1 and is free to translate longitudinally. In particular, the wrap 20 is not fixed directly to the cupshaped body 3. The wrap 20 is arranged resting above the abutment element 51 and translates in a solidly constrained manner with the box 30, 30'’. In this manner, when the lid 4 is opened, the wrap 20 translates longitudinally upwards into the upper position P2; when the lid 4 is closed, the wrap 20 translates longitudinally downwards into the lower position Pl.

[0088] Advantageously, the presence of the abutment element 51 prevents the wrap 20 from opening inferiorly. In other words, the abutment element 51 forms an abutment for the group of cigarettes C contained in the wrap, preventing them from breaking the bottom of the wrap if pushed downwards.

[0089] According to the example shown in the figures, the wrap 20 and the box 30, 30'’ have the same height. According to a variant not shown, the wrap 20 and the box 30, 30'’ can have different heights .

[0090] A method to produce a pack 1 of the type described above is described here below. It is noted that the sequence used here below is purely descriptive and not limiting, in other words one or more steps of the method described below can occur in a different sequence and / or at least partially at the same time.

[0091] The method comprises the step of preparing a blank 80, 80'' for the manufacture of the box 30, 30''.

[0092] The method comprises the step of folding the blank 80, 80'' to form the box 30, 30''.

[0093] The box 30, 30'’ can be manufactured empty or full. In order to produce a full box 30, 30'’, the folding step comprises the sub-steps of arranging a product on the blank 80, 80'’ and of folding the blank 80, 80'’ around the product. As an alternative, the box 30, 30'’ is manufactured empty and the product is inserted subsequently by syringing the product into the empty box 30, 30'’.

[0094] The method comprises the step of transferring the box 30, 30'' to a packaging machine. During the transferring step, the box 30, 30'' is oriented so that the abutment element 51 protrudes upwards .

[0095] The method comprises the step of preparing a wrap 20 containing a group of cigarettes C. In order to produce the wrap 20, the method comprises the step of folding a sheet of wrapping material around a group of cigarettes C.

[0096] The method comprises the step of coupling the wrap 20 to the box 30, 30'’ to form a product unit 200. In particular, the coupling step comprises the sub-step of arranging the wrap 20 resting on the abutment element 51 of the box 30, 30'’. The coupling step can comprise the sub-step of fixing, in particular gluing, the wrap 20 to the box 30, 30'’. In particular, the fixing sub-step comprises applying glue points 52 between the wrap 20 and the box 30, 30'’. In Figure 13, the glue points 52 fix the front wall 33 of the box 30 to the rear wall 24 of the container 20.

[0097] The method comprises the step of preparing a collar 15. The method comprises the step of preparing a blank 60 to form the container 2.

[0098] The method comprises the step of folding the blank 60 around the product unit 200. The step of folding the blank 60 comprises the sub-step of fixing the upper portion 45 of the flap 43 of the box 30, 30'’ inside the lower wall 12 of the lid 4. In particular, the flap 43 is glued by means of activation of the adhesive strip G3 to the lid 4.

[0099] Advantageously, the pack 1 of the type described above allows lifting of both the wrap 20 containing the group of cigarettes C and the box 30, 30'’ when the lid 4 is opened. In this manner, access both to the wrap 20 and to the box 30, 30'’ is facilitated for the final user.
