[0154] In the embodiments of the present disclosure, the Synchronization signal / Physical broadcast channel (PBCH) block (SSB) can be (or can be replaced by) a secondary synchronization signal, a primary synchronization signal, a synchronization signal, a signal for measurement, a signal for idle / inactive mode UE, a signal for connected mode UE, PBCH, master information block (MIB) , etc.

[0155] In some embodiments, the wireless communication method comprises at least one of:

[0156] receiving, by the wireless device from the gNB, network signaling, wherein the network signaling is associated with configuration information of time duration (s) ;

[0157] determining, by the wireless device, a plurality of first symbols and / or a plurality of second symbols in one or more time durations based on the network signaling; and / or

[0158] performing measurement in the first symbols, and / or performing communication (e.g., data / signaling reception / transmission) in the second symbols.

[0159] In the description below, some topics will be addressed including:

[0160] the configuration of the time duration (s) ;

[0161] the network signaling (e.g., including first signaling and second signaling) ; and

[0162] the UE assistance information.

[0163] Aspect 1:

[0164] In some embodiments, a configuration of the time duration (s) (also referred to as the configuration information in this disclosure) includes a configuration for the time duration (s) . For example, the configuration of the time duration is a configuration of measurement gap. In this case, the RRC signaling for the measurement gap is MeasGapConfig, which includes the periodicity (e.g., mgrp) , offset (e.g., gapOffset) , and length of the time duration (s) (e.g., mgl) .

[0165] In some embodiments, a configuration of the time duration (s) (also referred to as the configuration information in this disclosure) includes a configuration of the first period. In some embodiments, there are one or more time durations in the first period, and one or more time durations are skipped for measurement (e.g., used for communication) in the first period (e.g., the symbols in the first period are second symbols) . In some embodiments, there are one or more time durations in the first period, and one or more time durations are used for measurement in the first period (e.g., the symbols in the first period are first symbols) .

[0166] FIG. 2 shows a schematic diagram of a time period utilization according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, one or more time durations in the first period are skipped for measurement to enable Tx / Rx (e.g., enable communication) in the time duration (s) . In some embodiments, the symbols in the time duration (s) in the first period are second symbols. In FIG. 2, the 1st time duration and the 2nd time duration are in the first period, while the 3rd time duration and the 4th time duration are outside of the first period. In this case, communication can be performed in the 1st time duration and the 2nd time duration. In this case, the symbols in the 1st time duration and the 2nd time duration are the second symbols. In this cases, measurement can be performed in the 3rd time duration and the 4th time duration. In this case, the symbols in the 3rd time duration and the 4th time duration are the first symbols.

[0167] FIG. 3A shows a schematic diagram of a time period utilization according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In some embodiments, one or more time durations in the first period is used for measurement. In some cases, the symbols in the time duration (s) in the first period are the first symbols. In FIG. 3A, the 1st time duration and the 2nd time duration are outside of the first period, while the 3rd time duration and the 4th time duration are in the first period.

[0168] In some embodiments, a configuration of the time duration (s) (also referred to as the configuration information in this disclosure) includes a configuration for the time duration (s) and a configuration of the first period.

[0169] In some embodiments, the configuration information in the network signaling further comprises a periodicity of the first period.

[0170] In some embodiments, the configuration information in the network signaling further comprises a length of the first period;

[0171] In some embodiments, the configuration information in the network signaling further comprises an offset of the first period.

[0172] In some cases, the configuration information in the network signaling further comprises a periodicity, a length of the first period and an offset of the first period.

[0173] For example, the periodicity and the offset may be determined by the parameter (e.g., periodicityAndOffset) . In some embodiments, the UE may assume the first period is located in slots satisfying:

[0174] where denotes the number of slots in a system frame based on the subcarrier spacing (μ) . nf denotes the system frame identifier,  denotes the slot identifier in the system frame, Toffsetdenotes the offset information, and Tperioddenotes the periodicity of the first period.

[0175] As another example, the periodicity and the offset are determined by the parameter (e.g., CycleStartOffset) . In some embodiments, the UE starts the first period after Toffset from the beginning of the subframe, where the beginning of the subframe is determined by: [ (SFN×10) +Nsubframe] mod (Tperiod) = (Toffset) mod (Tperiod)

[0176] As another example, if the periodicity includes non-integer periodicity. In some embodiments, the UE starts the first period after Toffsetfrom the beginning of the subframe, where  the beginning of the subframe is determined by: floor ( [ (SFNCOUNTER×10240) + (SFN×10) +Nsubframe] mod (Tperiod) )  =floor ( [SFNref×10+ (Toffest) mod (Tperiod) )

[0177] where SFNCOUNTER is initially 0 and would be increased by 1 when SFN = 0 passed. SFNrefdenotes the reference system frame identifier.

[0178] In some embodiments, the length of the first period is determined by a first signaling in the network signaling. In some embodiments, the length of the first period is in unit of millisecond / second. In some embodiments, the length of the first period is in unit of slot. In some embodiments, the length of the first period is in unit of subframe. In some embodiments, the length of the first period is in unit of frame.

[0179] In some embodiments, the configuration information is triggered by a second signaling in the network signaling.

[0180] In some embodiments, the configuration information in the network signaling further comprises a second period. In some embodiments, the length of the second period is determined by the first signaling in the network signaling. In some embodiments, the length of the second period is in unit of millisecond / second / slot / subframe / frame. In some embodiments, the second period is triggered when an ending point of the first period is before an ending point of the corresponding time duration.

[0181] In some cases, the ending point of the first period is / comprises a last symbol of the first period. In some cases, the ending point of the corresponding time duration is / comprises a last symbol for the corresponding time duration.

[0182] In some cases, the ending point of the first period is / comprises a last slot of the first period. In some cases, the ending point of the corresponding time duration is / comprises a last slot for the corresponding time duration.

[0183] In some cases, the ending point of the first period is / comprises a last subframe of the first period. In some cases, the ending point of the corresponding time duration is / comprises a last subframe for the corresponding time duration.

[0184] In some cases, the ending point of the first period is / comprises a last radio frame of the first period. In some cases, the ending point of the corresponding time duration is / comprises a last  radio frame for the corresponding time duration.

[0185] For example, in FIG. 3B, the ending point of the first period is before the ending point of the 2nd time duration. In this case, the first period does not cover the 2nd time duration. In this case, whether the 2nd time duration is used for communication or not is unclear. In this case, a second period is triggered to cover the 2nd time duration by the first period plus the second period. In this case, the 2nd time duration is clear to the wireless communication terminal that the 2nd time duration is used for communication.

[0281] In this example, each bit indicates the corresponding time duration (s) is skipped or not. In some embodiments, bit ‘1’ indicates the corresponding time duration (s) is skipped, while bit ‘0’ indicates the corresponding time duration (s) is used. Or bit ‘0’ indicates the corresponding time duration (s) is skipped, while bit ‘1’ indicates the corresponding time duration (s) is used.

[0282] Case 2-3: In this example, if the first signaling includes RRC parameter smtc1 or smtc2 in the MeasObjectNR, the field of the second signaling includes N bits, N is variable based on the indication method. In some embodiments, if the indication indicates the symbols within the time duration (s) (e.g., the SMTC window (s) ) , e.g., each bit corresponds to a symbol within the time duration (s) , N is the number of symbols within one time duration. In some embodiments, the time duration (s) lasts 2 slots, where there are 28 symbols in one time duration. In this case, N = 28.

[0283] In another example, FIG. 9 shows a schematic diagram of a time period utilization  according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In another example, if the predefined symbols are indicated by a bitmap within the time duration (s) in the second signaling (e.g., the SMTC window (s) ) , e.g., each bit corresponds to the symbols associated with one SSB, N is the number of SSBs within one time duration. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, then N = 4. In some embodiments, the symbols associated with one SSB includes at least one of the following: symbols transmitting SSB, K1 symbols before symbols transmitting SSB, K1 symbols after symbols transmitting SSB, where K1 is a positive integer, e.g., K1 = 1. In some cases, the length of the bitmap is determined by a higher layer parameter. For example, the higher layer parameter is SSB-ToMeasure.

[0284] As another example, if the SSB indexes are indicated within one time duration in the second signaling, the SSB indexes indicated by the second signaling means the symbols associated with these SSBs are skipped for measurement. N is associated with the maximum number of skipped SSBs K2 and the maximum number of SSBs K3. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, including e.g., SSB0, SSB1, SSB2, and SSB3 (i.e., K3 = 4) . The maximum number of skipped SSBs is 2 (i.e., K2 = 2) . The N is determined as K2 × ceil (log2 (K3) ) (i.e., 2 × ceil (log2 (4) ) = 4, where the first two Most Significant Bits (MSBs) denote the index of the first skipped SSB, while the last two LSBs denote the index of the second skipped SSB) .

[0285] As another example, if the SSB indexes are indicated within one time duration, the SSB indexes indicated by the second signaling means the symbols associated with these SSBs are used for measurement. N is associated with the maximum number of used SSBs K2 and the maximum number of SSBs K3. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, including e.g., SSB0, SSB1, SSB2, and SSB3 (i.e., K3 = 4) . In some embodiments, the maximum number of used SSBs is 2 (i.e., K2 = 2) . The N is determined as K2 × ceil (log2 (K3) ) (i.e., 2 × ceil (log2 (4) ) = 4, where the first two MSBs denote the index of the first used SSB, while the last two LSBs denote the index of the second used SSB.

[0286] Case 2-4: In some embodiments, if the first signaling includes RRC parameter ncsgInd in the MeasObjectNR, the field of the second signaling includes O bits, where each bit indicates the corresponding measurement length in the time duration (s) , e.g., each bit corresponds to a symbol within the measurement length, O is the number of symbols within one time duration. In some embodiments, the time duration (s) lasts 2 slots, where there are 28 symbols in one time duration. In  this case, O = 28.

[0287] As another example, if the predefined symbols are indicated by a bitmap within the measurement length in the second signaling, e.g., each bit corresponds to the symbols associated with one SSB, O is the number of SSBs within one time duration. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, then O = 4.

[0288] As another example, if the SSB indexes are indicated within the measurement length in the second signaling, the SSB indexes indicated by the second signaling means the symbols associated with these SSBs are skipped for measurement. O is associated with the maximum number of skipped SSBs K2 and the maximum number of SSBs K3. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, including e.g., SSB0, SSB1, SSB2, and SSB3 (i.e., K3 = 4) . And the maximum number of skipped SSBs is 2 (i.e., K2 = 2) . The O is determined as K2 ×ceil (log2 (K3) ) (i.e., 2 × ceil (log2 (4) ) = 4, where the first two MSBs denote the index of the first skipped SSB, while the last two LSBs denote the index of the second skipped SSB) .

[0289] As another example, if the SSB indexes are indicated within the measurement length in the second signaling, the SSB indexes indicated by the second signaling means the symbols associated with these SSBs are used for measurement. N is associated with the maximum number of used SSBs K2 and the maximum number of SSBs K3. In some embodiments, there are four SSBs in one time duration, including e.g., SSB0, SSB1, SSB2, and SSB3 (i.e., K3 = 4) . And the maximum number of used SSBs is 2 (i.e., K2 = 2) . The N is determined as K2 × ceil (log2 (K3) ) (i.e., 2 × ceil (log2 (4) ) = 4, where the first two MSBs denote the index of the first used SSB, while the last two LSBs denote the index of the second used SSB.

[0290] In some embodiments, the first signaling comprises the one or more indexes of the configuration of the time duration (s) (a plurality of codepoints corresponding to time durations) . The second signaling includes the one of indexes of the time duration (s) and the indication for the time duration (s) . The table below shows an example for a relationship between codepoints and types of time duration (s) . In this case, the bit length of the indication for the time durations is P,  where P is not smaller than M, N, or O.

[0291] Case 3-1: In some embodiments, if the 2-bit field in the second signaling indicates ‘00’ , the following M-bit field in the second signaling is for the indication for the measurement gap. The detailed indication is substantially identical to which in Case 2-1 or Case 2-2.

[0299] In some embodiments, the configuration index field contains an index of the configuration. In some embodiments, the index of the configuration may indicate that the configuration is activated or deactivated.

[0300] In some embodiments, the MAC CE signaling includes a plurality of activation / deactivation states and the configuration index for the configuration information.

[0301] FIG. 11 shows a schematic diagram of a time period utilization according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In FIG. 11, the activation or deactivation for the corresponding configuration. For example, A / D 0 field is for the configuration with index 0, A / D 1 field is for the configuration with index 1 and so on. The field is set to 1 to indicate activation, and set to 0 to indicate deactivation. Or the field is set to 1 to indicate deactivation, and set to 0 to indicate activation.

[0303] In some embodiments, the second signaling includes a plurality of bitmaps for each measurement object configuration.

[0304] Aspect 3:

[0305] In some embodiments, the assistance information includes the usage state for measurement of the time duration (s) in the measurement period (e.g., a bitmap) . In some cases, each bit of the bitmap indicates one time duration in the measurement period. In some cases, bit ‘1’ indicates the time duration is used by UE for measurement, while bit ‘0’ indicates the time duration is not used by UE for measurement. In some cases, bit ‘0’ indicates the time duration is used by UE for measurement, while bit ‘1’ indicates the time duration is not used by UE for measurement. In some cases, bit ‘1’ indicates the time duration can be skipped for communication, while bit ‘0’ indicates the time duration is remained for measurement. In some cases, bit ‘0’ indicates the time duration can be skipped for communication, while bit ‘1’ indicates the time duration is remained for measurement.

[0306] In some embodiments, the assistance information includes the number of time duration (s) not used for measurement in the measurement period (e.g., number, codepoint for number) ;

[0307] In some embodiments, the assistance information includes the ratio of the overlapping between a time duration and a data transmission (e.g., the overlapping symbol ratio, overlapping symbol number dividing total symbol in the time duration) .

[0308] In some embodiments, the assistance information is transmitted in UE assistance information.

[0309] In some embodiments, the assistance information is transmitted in RRC signaling.

[0310] In some embodiments, the assistance information is transmitted in MAC CE signaling.

[0311] In some embodiments, the assistance information is transmitted in UCI signaling.

[0312] In some embodiments, the transmission of the assistance information is based on a condition. In some cases, the condition is a reference signal receiving power, RSRP is lower than a predefined threshold. In some cases, the condition is a reference signal receiving quality, RSRQ is lower than a predefined threshold. In some cases, the condition is a timer expired. In this case, the timer is a prohibit timer for the assistance information. In this case, the timer is to guarantee the assistance information would not report more frequently.

[0313] In some embodiments, the UE capability reports for determining indication schemes.

[0314] In some embodiments, the UE capability includes a first parameter about simultaneous reception of data and SS block with different numerologies when UE conducts the serving cell  measurement or intra-frequency measurement.

[0315] In some embodiments, when the UE does not support the capability determined by the first parameter, the corresponding content in second signaling is applied.

[0316] In some embodiments, when the UEs support the capability determined by the first parameter, the content in the second signaling is absent.

[0317] Case A: For a UE, if the first signaling includes the RRC parameter smtc1 or smtc2 in MeasObjectNR, simultaneousRxDataSSB-DiffNumerology is not supported, and / or deriveSSB_IndexFromCell is enabled, the indication of the second signaling includes N-bit field.

[0318] In some embodiments, each bit of N-bit field corresponds to a symbol within the time duration (s) . In some embodiments, each bit of N-bit field corresponds to the symbols associated with one SSB. In some embodiments, each bit of N-bit field corresponds to the symbols associated with one SSB.

[0319] For a UE, if the first signaling does not include the RRC parameter smtc1 or smtc2 in MeaObjectNR, and / or deriveSSB_IndexFromCell is not enabled, the indication of the second signaling includes M-bit field. In some embodiments, each bit of M-bit field corresponds to the time duration (s) .

[0320] Case B: For a UE, if the first signaling includes RRC parameter ncsgInd in MeasObjectNR, simultaneousRxDataSSB-DiffNumerology is not supported by UE, and / or deriveSSB_IndexFromCell is enabled, the indication of the second signaling includes O-bit field. In some embodiments, each bit indicates the corresponding predefined symbols in the measurement length in the time duration (s) . In some embodiments, each bit corresponds to a symbol within the time duration (s) . In some embodiments, each bit corresponds to the symbols associated with one SSB.

[0321] For a UE, if the first signaling does not include RRC parameter ncsgInd in MeasObjectNR, or deriveSSB_IndexFromCell is not enabled, the indication of the second signaling includes M-bit field. In some embodiments, each bit of M-bit field corresponds to the time duration (s) .

[0332] A wireless communication method is also provided according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the wireless communication method may be performed by using a wireless communication terminal (e.g., a UE) . In an embodiment, the wireless communication terminal may be implemented by using the wireless communication terminal 30 described in this disclosure, but is not limited thereto.

[0333] Referring to FIG. 14, in an embodiment, the wireless communication method includes: receiving, by a wireless communication terminal from a wireless communication node, network signaling comprising configuration information of one or more time durations; determining, by the wireless communication terminal, at least one of a first symbol or a second symbol in the one or more time durations based on the configuration information; and performing, by the wireless communication terminal, a communication in the second symbol, or a measurement in the first symbol.

[0334] Details in this regard can be ascertained with reference to the paragraphs above, and will not be repeated herein.

[0335] Another wireless communication method is also provided according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the wireless communication method may be performed by using a wireless communication node (e.g., a gNB) . In an embodiment, the wireless communication node may be implemented by using the wireless communication node 40 described in this disclosure, but is not limited thereto.

[0336] Referring to FIG. 15, in an embodiment, the wireless communication method includes: transmitting, by a wireless communication node to a wireless communication terminal, network signaling comprising configuration information of one or more time durations, to allow the wireless communication terminal to determine at least one of a first symbol or a second symbol in the one or more time durations based on the configuration information, wherein a communication is performed in the second symbol and a measurement is performed in the first symbol.

[0337] Details in this regard can be ascertained with reference to the paragraphs above, and will not be repeated herein.

[0338] In some embodiments, the wireless communication terminal used in the present disclosure may indicate the UE described above.

[0339] In some embodiments, the wireless communication node used in the present disclosure may indicate the BS or gNB described above.

[0340] While various embodiments of the present disclosure have been described above, it should be understood that they have been presented by way of example only, and not by way of limitation. Likewise, the various diagrams may depict an example architectural or configuration,  which are provided to enable persons of ordinary skill in the art to understand exemplary features and functions of the present disclosure. Such persons would understand, however, that the present disclosure is not restricted to the illustrated example architectures or configurations, but can be implemented using a variety of alternative architectures and configurations. Additionally, as would be understood by persons of ordinary skill in the art, one or more features of one embodiment can be combined with one or more features of another embodiment described herein. Thus, the breadth and scope of the present disclosure should not be limited by any one of the above-described exemplary embodiments.

[0341] It is understood that, in the present disclosure, the term “and / or” or symbol “ / ” may include any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. For example, A and / or B and / or C includes any and all combinations of one or more of A, B, and C, including A, B, C, A and B, A and C, B and C, and a combination of A and B and C. Likewise, A / B / C includes any and all combinations of one or more of A, B, and C, including A, B, C, A and B, A and C, B and C, and a combination of A and B and C.

[0342] It is also understood that any reference to an element herein using a designation such as "first, " "second, " and so forth does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. Rather, these designations can be used herein as a convenient means of distinguishing between two or more elements or instances of an element. Thus, a reference to first and second elements does not mean that only two elements can be employed, or that the first element must precede the second element in some manner.

[0343] Additionally, a person having ordinary skill in the art would understand that information and signals can be represented using any one of a variety of different technologies and techniques. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits and symbols, for example, which may be referenced in the above description can be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or particles, optical fields or particles, or any combination thereof.

[0344] A skilled person would further appreciate that any one of the various illustrative logical blocks, units, processors, means, circuits, methods and functions described in connection with the aspects disclosed herein can be implemented by electronic hardware (e.g., a digital implementation, an analog implementation, or a combination of the two) , firmware, various forms of program or  design code incorporating instructions (which can be referred to herein, for convenience, as "software" or a "software unit” ) , or any combination of these techniques.

[0345] To clearly illustrate this interchangeability of hardware, firmware and software, various illustrative components, blocks, units, circuits, operations, and steps have been described above generally in terms of their functionality. Whether such functionality is implemented as hardware, firmware or software, or a combination of these techniques, depends upon the particular application and design constraints imposed on the overall system. Skilled artisans can implement the described functionality in various ways for each particular application, but such implementation decisions do not cause a departure from the scope of the present disclosure. In accordance with various embodiments, a processor, device, component, circuit, structure, machine, unit, etc. can be configured to perform one or more of the functions described herein. The term “configured to” or “configured for” as used herein with respect to a specified operation or function refers to a processor, device, component, circuit, structure, machine, unit, etc. that is physically constructed, programmed and / or arranged to perform the specified operation or function.

[0346] Furthermore, a skilled person would understand that various illustrative logical blocks, units, devices, components and circuits described herein can be implemented within or performed by an integrated circuit (IC) that can include a general-purpose processor, a digital signal processor (DSP) , an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) , a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or other programmable logic device, or any combination thereof. The logical blocks, units, and circuits can further include antennas and / or transceivers to communicate with various components within the network or within the device. A general-purpose processor can be a microprocessor, but in the alternative, the processor can be any conventional processor, controller, or state machine. A processor can also be implemented as a combination of computing devices, e.g., a combination of a DSP and a microprocessor, a plurality of microprocessors, one or more microprocessors in conjunction with a DSP core, or any other suitable configuration to perform the functions described herein. If implemented in software, the functions can be stored as one or more instructions or code on a computer-readable medium. Thus, the steps or operations of a method or algorithm disclosed herein can be implemented as software stored on a computer-readable medium.

[0347] Computer-readable media includes both computer storage media and communication media including any medium that can be enabled to transfer a computer program or code from one  place to another. A storage media can be any available media that can be accessed by a computer. By way of example, and not limitation, such computer-readable media can include RAM, ROM, EEPROM, CD-ROM or other optical disk storage, magnetic disk storage or other magnetic storage devices, or any other medium that can be used to store desired program code in the form of instructions or data structures and that can be accessed by a computer.

[0348] In this document, the term "unit" as used herein, refers to software, firmware, hardware, and any combination of these elements for performing the associated functions described herein. Additionally, for purpose of discussion, the various units are described as discrete units; however, as would be apparent to one of ordinary skill in the art, two or more units may be combined to form a single unit that performs the associated functions according to embodiments of the present disclosure.

[0349] Additionally, memory or other storage, as well as communication components, may be employed in embodiments of the present disclosure. It will be appreciated that, for clarity purposes, the above description has described embodiments of the present disclosure with reference to different functional units and processors. However, it will be apparent that any suitable distribution of functionality between different functional units, processing logic elements or domains may be used without detracting from the present disclosure. For example, functionality illustrated to be performed by separate processing logic elements, or controllers, may be performed by the same processing logic element, or controller. Hence, references to specific functional units are only references to a suitable means for providing the described functionality, rather than indicative of a strict logical or physical structure or organization.

[0350] Various modifications to the implementations described in this disclosure will be readily apparent to those skilled in the art, and the general principles defined herein can be applied to other implementations without departing from the scope of the claims. Thus, the disclosure is not intended to be limited to the implementations shown herein, but is to be accorded the widest scope consistent with the novel features and principles disclosed herein, as recited in the claims below.
