Description

[0001] BARBECUE

[0002] * * *

[0003] The present invention relates to a barbecue.

[0004] A barbecue, after its use, needs to be cleaned to remove any residues of food and / or cooking fat and its cleaning is traditionally mostly carried out manually, resulting in a waste of time and effort.

[0005] In some barbecues on the market there are also grill washing systems that exploit the phenomenon of pyrolysis which, however, are not entirely effective, given that they do not allow for thorough cleaning of the grill itself or of the parts of the barbecue on which the cooking fat falls or drips. Cooking fat, in particular, usually accumulates in a tray under the grill and, if not adequately removed, generates a bad smell that can attract insects, mice or other unwanted animals.

[0006] The need is, therefore, felt to improve the state of the art in the barbecue field and the main object of the present invention is therefore to provide a barbecue that can be thoroughly cleaned manually, automatically or semi-automatically, after its use, without wasting time and with no effort.

[0027] Figure 1 shows a schematic front view of a barbecue according to a first embodiment of the present invention;

[0028] Figure 2 illustrates a schematic front view of the barbecue of Figure 1, according to a first variant thereof; Figure 3 is a schematic front view of the barbecue of Figure 1, according to a second variant thereof;

[0029] Figure 4 shows a schematic front view of a barbecue according to a second embodiment of the present invention;

[0030] Figure 5 illustrates a schematic front view of the barbecue of Figure 4, according to a first variant thereof; and

[0031] Figure 6 is a schematic front view of the barbecue of Figure 4, according to a second variant thereof.

[0032] With reference now to the attached figures, it will be noted that a barbecue according to the present invention is indicated in the figures with reference number 1 and includes:

[0033] - a hollow container body 2, accessible from the outside through a pass-through access opening 21 of the hollow container body 2 and wherein a pass-through inlet opening 22 is formed,

[0034] - a cooking grid 3, housed in the hollow container body 2, close to the pass-through access opening 21, and

[0035] - a collection tank 4, housed in the hollow container body 2 below the cooking grid 3 and configured to collect any food and grease residue which, while cooking food on the cooking grid 3, can fall or drip therefrom.

[0036] Barbecue 1 of the present invention houses, at least partially in the hollow container body 2, an inlet hydraulic circuit 5, configured to receive, through the pass-through inlet opening 22 to which it is connected, a flushing fluid, for example water, from an external tank or directly from the water mains or from another source of flushing fluid / water suitable for the purpose.

[0037] Barbecue 1 of the present invention also houses a heating circuit 6 in the hollow container body 2, the heating circuit configured to heat the flushing fluid received from the inlet hydraulic circuit 5, and also includes a plurality of supplying devices 7, each supplying device 7 being in fluid communication with the heating circuit 6 and configured to deliver the flushing fluid received from the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 towards the cooking grid 3, after it has been heated by the heating circuit 6.

[0038] Barbecue 1 of the present invention also houses in the hollow container body 2 a flushing fluid collection and discharge circuit 8, configured to be selectively placed in fluid communication with the collection tank 4 and to remove the flushing fluid from the collection tank 4, after the flushing fluid has been delivered from the plurality of supplying devices 7 towards the cooking grid 3 and has dropped in it.

[0039] According to a first embodiment of barbecue 1 of the present invention, represented in Figures 1 to 3, it will be noted that the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 is in fluid communication with the flushing fluid heating circuit 6, via the collection tank 4. In the collection tank 4, in fact, there is a pass-through supply opening 41 in communication with the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 so that, when the flushing fluid enters the barbecue 1, it is collected in the collection tank 4 which, as mentioned above, is also used during cooking to collect any food residues and fat dripped from the grid. The flushing fluid heating circuit 6 comprises a plurality of flushing fluid intake branches 61, and a plurality of flushing fluid suction devices 62 and each flushing fluid intake branch 61 is, on one side, in fluid communication with the collection tank 4 and, on the other side, connected to the respective suction device 62 of the plurality of suction devices 62. Each suction device 62 of the plurality of suction devices 62 is in turn in fluid communication with a respective supplying device 7.

[0040] Advantageously, the heating circuit 6 also includes a hydraulic steam generating unit 63, in fluid communication with the plurality of suction devices 62 (for example, through specific branches of the heating circuit 6 represented in the figures) and, each flushing fluid suction device 62, due to the effect of a depression that is created therein when it is hit by the steam produced by the hydraulic steam generating unit 63, is configured to suction the flushing fluid contained in the collection tank 4, through the respective intake branch 61. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the flushing fluid suction devices 62 can be, for example, Venturi nozzles or steam microturbines, or other devices suitable for the purpose, as long as they are capable of allowing the suction of the flushing fluid contained in the collection tank 4 and its conveyance thereof, under pressure, towards the respective supplying devices 7, from which the flushing fluid is then directed towards the grid 3. Please note that due to the effect of the steam that reaches each suction device 62, the flushing fluid of the collection tank 4 is heated, in use, before being directed towards the respective supplying device 7 and is therefore delivered hot (for example at a temperature adjustable in a known way, for example equal to 70°C) towards the grid 3, helping to better dissolve any food or fat residues deposited on it.

[0041] It should further be noted that with such a configuration of the invention barbecue 1, the flushing fluid supplied by the plurality of supplying devices 7 and collected by gravity in the collection tank 4, after hitting the grid 3, can be recirculated several times in the barbecue, being able to be suctioned in again by the intake branches 61, heated again by the steam that reaches the suction devices 62, and then again delivered through the supplying devices 7.

[0042] According to the first embodiment of the present invention, the hydraulic steam generating unit 63 includes a burner 631, and a boiler 632 connected thereto, where the water necessary to produce the required steam can be heated. The water in boiler 632, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, can come from a branch not shown in the Figures of the inlet circuit 5 or, for example, from an independent source.

[0043] According to a preferred embodiment, the burner 631 is a gas burner and the barbecue 1 of the present invention also includes a cylinder 64 connected to the burner, for its supply, which can also be the same cylinder used to supply the barbecue food cooking gas or an independent cylinder. As an alternative to the burner 631, barbecue 1 of the present invention can also include an electric heat generator or in any case a generator of any suitable type, as long as it is capable of producing evaporation of water inside boiler 632 and the production of steam.

[0044] With reference now to the second embodiment of the present invention, represented in figures 4 to 6, it will be noted that also in this case the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 is in fluid communication with the heating circuit 6. More precisely, as represented in Figures 4 to 6, a diverter 51 suitable for the purpose is provided between the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 and the heating circuit 6, for example an electroactivated valve and / or a check valve. The heating circuit 6 includes at least one electric boiler 65 so that, when the diverter 51 is open, the flushing fluid received through the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 can pass through the electric boiler 65, wherein it is heated and from here, by means of one or more heating branches of the heating circuit 6 represented in the figures, it can be brought to the plurality of supply devices 7, from which it is delivered, hot (for example at a temperature adjustable in a known way, for example equal to 70°C ), towards the grid 3 of the barbecue 1. Optionally, the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 can also be placed in fluid communication with the collection tank 4. In fact, a recirculation opening 42 can be formed in the collection tank 4, through which the flushing fluid contained therein can be sent to the heating circuit 6, via a special recirculation branch 52, controlled by a respective diverter 53, included in the inlet hydraulic circuit 5. Also, in this case it is therefore possible to recirculate the flushing fluid in barbecue 1, making it heat up again and being delivered from the plurality of supply devices 7, to repeat the cleaning operations of the barbecue itself.

[0045] Barbecue 1 of the present invention, both in the form of the first and second embodiment, in the hollow container body 2 houses, as already mentioned above, a flushing fluid collection and discharge circuit s, which is in fluid communication with the collection tank 4 through a pass-through outlet opening 43 obtained therein. In this regard, it should be noted that the collection tank 4 of the barbecue is substantially funnel-shaped or in any case has a non-flat bottom so that the flushing fluid contained therein is conveyed by gravity towards a portion of the bottom where the pass-through outlet opening

[0046] 43 is obtained, the opening-closing of which being controlled by a valve 44 of a type suitable for the purpose.

[0047] The collection and discharge circuit 8 includes a tank 81, optionally extractable from the hollow container body 2 of the barbecue, in fluid communication with the collection tank 4 through that valve

[0048] 44 and in the tank 81 a discharge pass-through opening 82 is optionally obtained, whose opening-closing is controlled by a valve not shown in the drawings, for the discharge of the flushing fluid towards the environment or another tank or a water mains drain.

[0049] Clearly, the barbecue of the present invention can be operated manually, or controlled automatically or semi-automatically by means of a control unit which, although not represented in the drawings, can be operationally connected at least to the heating circuit 6, to at least control the switching on / off of the burner 631 or the electric boiler 65, as well as, optionally to the valve 44 or to the valve controlling the discharge pass-through opening 82 of the tank 81, to control its selective opening and therefore allow or not allow the discharge of the flushing fluid from the collection tank 4 into the tank 81 and / or the discharge of the flushing fluid from tank 61 towards the outside.

[0050] Optionally, the present invention barbecue 1 can also include respective opening-closing valves 50 of the inlet hydraulic circuit s, that are also controlled by the control unit, if desired, for the automation of the cleaning operations of the barbecue itself.

[0051] It will be noted that in the barbecue 1 of the present invention, both in its first and in its second embodiment, the plurality of supply devices 7 can be housed in the hollow container body 2 below the grid and / or above it, for example in a lid 20 of the hollow container body 2, configured to close the hollow container body 2 at its pass-through access opening 21, so that the hot flushing fluid delivered by the barbecue can hit the grid both from below and / or from above, depending on the configurations (see the attached Figures). In the event that the plurality of supply devices 7 is housed in the lid 20 of the barbecue 1, the lid 20 is hinged to the rest of the hollow container body 2 of the barbecue, the plurality of supply devices 7 being in fluid communication with the flushing fluid heating circuit 6, housed in the hollow container body 2 of the barbecue 1.

[0052] In both embodiments, the barbecue 1 can include a shower head 9, in fluid communication with to the heating circuit 6, so that a barbecue user can manually wash the barbecue itself with hot water with the shower head 9, if necessary. Barbecue 1 of the present invention can also house or support a liquid detergent tank, for example in fluid communication via a suitable connection branch with the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 or a branch of the heating circuit 6, so that the dispensers can deliver the flushing fluid together with the detergent for better cleaning of the barbecue itself. Furthermore, the barbecue 1 of the present invention can also include a cooking fat collection tank 10, directly connected to the cooking grid 3, shaped for this purpose so that by gravity the fat can flow along a guide or along a special duct 31 of the cooking grid 3, until it reaches the tank 10 by gravity. Also in this cooking fat collection tank 10, which in the figures is shown outside the barbecue 1 container body 2 and which can also be removably housed therein, a fat discharging pass-through opening 101 can be obtained, the opening-closing thereof being possibly controlled manually in any suitable way or automatically by the control unit by means of the opening-closing of respective valves not shown in the drawings but mounted at the pass-through opening 101.

[0053] In view of the above, it is clear that barbecue 1 described above solves the problems set out in the introduction. In fact, it can be used for both manual, automatic or semi-automatic thorough clean operations of the barbecue, under the control of the control unit and using the following washing method involving the following operating steps:

[0054] A. receiving the flushing fluid, through the inlet hydraulic circuit 5;

[0055] B. heating the flushing fluid thereby received, through the heating circuit 6; C. supplying the flushing fluid thereby heated to the barbecue cooking grid 3, by means of the plurality of supplying devices 7;

[0056] D. collecting the flushing fluid thereby supplied, in the collection tank 4; and

[0057] E. recirculating the flushing fluid through the plurality of supplying devices 7 for a preset number of times; then

[0058] F. discharging the flushing fluid from the collection tank 4, through the collection and discharge circuit 8.

[0059] According to the washing method of invention barbecue 1, the recirculation is carried out, according to the first embodiment of the present invention, by repeating steps B to D, with the valve 44 closed, and after having interrupted the inlet of the flushing fluid from the outside by closing of the opening-closing valve 50 of the inlet hydraulic circuit 5. In the second embodiment of the invention, the recirculation is carried out, after step D, with the valve 44 closed, and after having opened the diverter 53 and correspondingly closed the diverter 51 of the inlet hydraulic circuit 5 and then, with the repetition of steps B to D described above.

[0060] Optionally, as described above, the flushing fluid can be preliminarily or subsequently mixed with a detergent to increase its cleaning and degreasing effect.

[0061] Clearly, the greater the number of cycles of the flushing fluid, the better the final cleanliness of the barbecue.

[0062] According to a variant of the method, immediately after step F the washing method of the present invention barbecue 1 can also include a step G of rinsing with only flushing fluid (without detergent), comprising the repetition of steps A to D and then, the execution of a step F of discharge of the flushing fluid used for rinsing.

[0063] If desired, before starting the washing method under the control of the control unit, with the help of the shower head 9 one can manually carry out a rough cleaning of the grill from larger food residues and grease. Not only that, on the cooking grid 3 it will be possible to place crockery, cutlery and tools used for cooking food using the present invention barbecue, so that these can also be washed when cleaning the barbecue according to the method described above.

[0064] In the foregoing, the preferred embodiments have been described, and variations of the present invention have been suggested, but it is to be understood that those skilled in the art will be able to make modifications and changes without thereby departing from the relevant scope of protection, as defined by the attached claims.
