Fingernail and toenail cleaning tool

Abstract

A hand-held nail cleaning tool is disclosed having an elongated body with opposite facing integrated crcvicing ends for capturing and removing debris from under and around fingernails and toenails. One end of the body has an angled crevicing end protruding outward and curved towards the other end. The opposite end has an angled crevicing end curved in the opposing direction, also facing outwards. The user can hold the center of the tool and position appropriate facing crevicing end under the side of the nail bed to be cleaned. As the tool is moved, the end captures and removes any debris. The cleaning tool and integrally formed crevicing ends are composed of materials such as plastic, wood, or metal suitable for removing dirt and debris from nails through the ending action. The novel opposing end design provides efficient nail cleaning while being easy and comfortable to use.

Description

Title of the Invention: Fingernail and toenail cleaning tool

[0001] Background on the invention. This invention relates to personal hygiene tools, specifically for cleaning the sides of nail beds for both fingernails and toenails. When cleaning fingernails or toenails, people have trouble removing dirt and debris from the sides of the fingernail or toenail using a standard shaped cleaning tool. To solve this problem, it is an object of the present invention to use the opposing crevicing angled ends to clean these areas.

[0002] Brief summary of the invention. Various nail cleaning tools exist such as nail brushes, pickers, and clippers. However, these tools are not optimized for cleaning the sides of fingernails and toenails. Debris and bacteria can build up on the sides of nail beds, leading to unsanitary conditions and potential infection. A tool is needed that can effectively clean the sides of fingernails and toenails.

[0003] In view of the limitations of prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a handheld tool for cleaning the sides of fingernails and toenails. The tool has a flat elongated body with a gripping region in the center for holding by a user. Located at each opposite end of the body is a crevicing end angled perpendicularly to the body. In use, a user grips the center region and moves the tool back and forth so the crevicing ends clean the sides of the nails. The crevicing ends are able to reach dirt and debris in the tight space between nails and fingers / toes. The tool removes trapped bacteria and particles, improving nail hygiene and health.

In use, a user cradles the tool's center and pushes the crevicing end ends back and forth against the nail sides, dislodging any debris. The ends move dirt, debris and bacteria out from the nail sides, leaving clean nail beds.
