Description

A facilitator apparatus for writing or drawing on non-horizontal surfacesTechnical Field

[0001] The technical field of this invention relates to the writing stationary with a single handheld unit, that assist a person for writing on any inclined or vertical surfaces such as a whiteboard, in addition to having a wider wrist angle for easier writing, his / her wrist or hand skin does not touch the surface of the whiteboard and therefor does not cause any skin allergies or damages. Background Art

[0002] A Patent number WO / 2019 / 222715 has been published in PCT.

[0003] In this invention, one or more markers and erasers held by the device to form a single handheld unit. In this way, the user of the device write and erase with the same device.

[0004] The system includes a dry-erase marker holder as shown. The holder includes a main body having a lower, or "grip", portion and an upper, or "eraser", portion. As illustrated, the grip portion includes a holding element such as an inner cavity or opening {e.g., a barrel-like cylindrical opening or other type of opening, cavity or holding element) into which a dry-erase marker is received and retained (FIG. 1 shows the marker held within the opening) with its tip (or writing) end.

[0005] extending out of an opening at one end (also referred to as the "tip end") of the lower portion. As shown, the opening configured with the top surface of the bottom portion. In this way the holder is a top-loading holder. However, the opening configured with any surface of the holder or any combinations of surfaces of the holder. The tip end of the marker extends far enough out of the end of the lower portion that a cap placed over the tip end when the marker is not in use so as to prevent the ink in the marker from drying out.

[0006] As it is clear in the figures and descriptions of the above invention, this invention is completely different than the claimed invention in the appearance of parts and function.Technical Problem

[0007] Writing, painting, or drawing on vertical surfaces including upright whiteboards causes fatigue or damage to the user’s wrist due to acute angle of the wrist compared with horizontal surfaces. On the other side, while writing or drawing, the user must use an eraser or cleaning cloth usually.

[0008] for this purpose, he / she must put aside the marker and take the cleaning cloth or utilize the other hand to use the eraser or even to speed up writing or drawing, the user might be using his / her own skin on the hands to erase the ink sometime, which in turn cause to slow down the user's speed and skin allergies.

[0009] One of the chemical elements which uses in ink manufacturing for whiteboard’s markers is Methyl Isobutyl Ketone (also called Hexone). It may cause skin allergies for some people, so this apparatus solves this issue by creating a distance between the skin on the hand and surface of the whiteboard.

[0010] in addition, even if the user's hand touches the unwritten parts of the board, some microscopic, dried ink particles which are remained from the previous writings can cause skin allergies too.

[0011] In addition to reducing the wrist angle that mentioned above, the claimed apparatus eliminates any skin contacts with surface of whiteboard. Also, can be used as an eraser for cleaning the surface simultaneously without need to leave the marker for cleaning.Solution to Problem

[0012] This piece is an apparatus that makes writing easier when writing on nonhorizontal surfaces such as a whiteboard by creating a suitable angle between the wrist and the surface. If this apparatus is used for a whiteboard, by creating a distance between hand’s skin and writable surface can prevent skin allergies or any skin contamination.

[0013] This apparatus can consist of a flexible or rubber plastic part at the bottom (the first piece) and a rigid plastic part at the top (the second part). Depending on the production and construction method of plastic injection molding, it is possible to divide the lower part (the first part) into two separate pieces:1- “lower flat” piece and the other;2- “slotted appendage” piece.

[0014] The lower flat part is placed on the surface of the whiteboard and the “slotted appendage” part is held by little finger of user’s hand. Normally when a user holds a pen or marker in hand for writing, the hand almost becomes a fist, and in this case, the user's little finger makes a small circle. The “slotted appendage” part which has soft, flexible and thin walls, is placed in this circular area and the user's little finger is wrapped around it. The least pressure of little finger causes this “slotted appendage” to be deformed and changed its shape to creates enough amount of friction with the user’s little finger to almost adjoining to it.

[0015] Also, a small piece of magnet with enough magnetic flux is placed in the first part to create a appropriate pulling force, for keeping the tool on the whiteboard surface. In spite of magnetic force, this magnet does not hinder any fluency or ease of use.

[0016] The upper plastic part (the second piece) has an almost smooth surface at the top that provides support for the wrist and little finger while writing, also a curved slot is embedded in this surface to allow the rubbery "slotted appendage" could pass through the lower part (the first piece) to the top.

[0017] This surface has bulges and recesses to increase the contact area with the user’s hand thus, making it easy to control and move the tool freely on whiteboard surface. In addition, there’s a hollow cylinder at the center of the “slotted appendage” which can be used as a space to place a marker lid / cap or a marker itself when not in use.

[0018] The bottom surface of the first piece is made from soft or rubbery plastic and the “slotted appendage” is installed diagonally on it to create the minimum distance between the hand support points (wrist, first and second knuckle of little finger) and the whiteboard surface.

[0019] The bottom surface of the first part, is in touch with the surface of the whiteboard during writing, can be covered with a soft cloth and used as a whiteboard eraser. The upper part and the lower part, each one has a hollow cylinder which can insert together as a socket connection and fix both two parts in place.Advantageous Effects of Invention

[0020] 1 . It maintains the ergonomics of the hand when writing on non-horizontal surfaces

[0021] 2. Whiteboard erasers usually are made from soft foams which are unable to cleaning almost dried inks or bended surfaces. This apparatus can almost clean any dried ink from bended whiteboards surfaces completely.

[0022] 3. It prevents from contact the user hand’s skin to the surface of the board and the residues of the marker (which are main causes of allergies)

[0023] 4. It prevents the marker or its lid / cap from being lost

[0024] 5. It can be used for right-handed and left-handed users

[0025] 6. It can stick to whiteboard surface by magnetic forceBrief Description of Drawings

[0033] This apparatus can consist of a part at the bottom 1 (the first piece) and a part at the top 2 (the second piece). It is possible to divide the bottom part 1 into two parts, a lower flat part 101 and a slotted holding appendage part 102 whereas this “slotted appendage” part is held by the user's little finger.

[0034] A magnet 3 with enough magnetic flux is placed in the bottom of part 1 so that by creating a suitable pulling force, holding the tool on the whiteboard’s surface.

[0035] The upper part 2 (the second piece) has an almost smooth surface at the top that provides support for the wrist and little finger when writing, and also a curved slot 201 is embedded in this surface to allow the slotted rubber appendage 102 which attached to the lower part 1 (the first piece) can pass through to the upper part.

[0036] A second part has a deep slop along its surface. An area with low height 202 is located in front, for providing a small distance between little finger and writingsurface and the other an area with high height 203 is located in back, to provide wide angle between user’s wrist and writing surface.

[0037] Moreover, the first part and second part 4 can be designed in the way that from the holding appendage can be held with the right hand or the left hand in one piece, but it needs to put more material and so put more weight to apparatus and causes to discomfort for writing.Examples

[0038] To utilize this invention, it is enough for the user to hold the “slotted appendage” with his / her little finger and hold the marker or writing tool with the other fingers. In this case, not only the ergonomics of the user's hand are maintained during writing, but also three more function and benefits are available for user simultaneously:

[0039] a) Writing and correcting without removing the hand from whiteboard.

[0040] b) There’s not any contact between the user’s hand skin and allergic particles such as Hexone.

[0041] c) It prevents a Marker holder or it’s lid / cap holder from being lost.Industrial Applicability

[0042] This piece is used in the stationary industry for kindergartens, schools, universities or any educational or drawing places that need to be written or drawn on a non-horizontal surfaces.
