Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a velvet-textured lip cosmetic composition having no dryness and excellent long-lasting properties. Specifically, the lip cosmetic composition according to the present disclosure has a color which applies with a velvety texture and lasts long, and does not cause dryness or lip tightness, thus providing an excellent sensation during use.

[0004] Velvet-textured lip products, like lip glosses, offer a natural, shine-free finish, making them a popular choice, rivaling glow-inducing formulas. To achieve this blurry, velvety effect, a method developed around 2010 that involved using large amounts of powder to absorb oil within the formulation was developed. However, relying on the absorbency of powder to eliminate shine had the disadvantage that the powder absorbed not only oil but also moisture, leaving lips feeling dry over time.

[0005] To address the dryness associated with powders like these, technologies have been developed that utilize less-drying silicone powders or silicone elastomers instead of powders like kaolin or silica. However, while formulations containing silicone powders or elastomers offer a relatively comfortable application without tightening the lips, they lack adhesiveness, making them prone to fading and lasting.

[0006] Subsequently, techniques have been developed to improve the staying power of velvety lip cosmetic compositions, using water and volatile oils to evaporate volatile substances and adhere non-volatile ingredients to the lips. Representative examples include emulsified formulations containing water or the carbon-based volatile oil isododecane, resulting in compositions with significantly improved staying power. However, the inclusion of volatile ingredients in these formulations not only robs the lips of moisture due to volatilization, easily drying them out, but also makes the application surface thin, making it difficult to achieve the voluminous lip look desired by consumers.

[0007] Another method for improving the staying power of a velvety lip cosmetic composition involves the use of a film former. This involves incorporating a resin composition into the lip composition, thereby enhancing the staying power through the film formed after application. However, this method has the disadvantage that the applied surface can easily crack due to lip movement, accentuating wrinkles. Furthermore, the rigid film can cause a feeling of heaviness and tightness on the lips.

When the weight ratio of the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone to the silicone elastomer is more than 1.5, it is difficult to express the velvet texture of the silicone elastomer and the lasting power may be low.

[0029] In one embodiment, by including the silicone elastomer and the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone in the above weight ratio, the composition can have excellent color durability due to greatly reduced pigment fading caused by the formation of a stable coating layer by the silicone elastomer, while lowering the glossiness caused by the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone, thereby enabling the expression of a velvety and blurry texture. In the present specification, the velvety texture can also be expressed as a blurry texture with a blurred boundary of the application surface, or a silky texture.

[0061] [Test Example 1] Evaluation of Formulation and Usability

[0062] The lipstick compositions of Example 1 and Comparative Examples 1 to 6 were evaluated for blurry texture expression, color staying power, and lip comfort (light spreadability) upon application. Specifically, blurry texture expression was evaluated by observing the appearance after applying the composition in a circular motion five times on the palm, and color staying power was evaluated by observing the appearance after rubbing the center of the application surface twice with the index finger after 10 minutes of applying it on the inner arm, and the remaining residue level was evaluated by observing the appearance. The evaluation criteria were +++: excellent, ++: good, +: average, -: weak. The usability evaluation of color staying power and lip comfort upon application was performed on 10 women aged 23-35 who usually use lipstick more than five times a week, and the average value was expressed as a sensory evaluation on a 5-point scale.

[0065] From the results of Table 2, FIG. 1a, FIG. 1b and FIG. 2 above, it was confirmed that in the case of Example 1 according to one embodiment of the present invention, not only was the color expressed as a white and smooth texture after application, but the color durability and usability were also excellent. On the other hand, in the case of Comparative Example 1 that does not contain alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone, a dry feeling is felt when applied to the lips, and in the case of Comparative Example 2 that contains a polyglyceryl cross-linked elastomer other than a silicone cross-linked elastomer and in the case of Comparative Example 3 that contains a silicone cross-linked elastomer other than polysilicone-11, the cosmetics are easily pushed by external stimuli and the pigments are easily erased, resulting in poor color durability, and in the case of Comparative Example 4 in which the weight ratio of the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone to the silicone elastomer is lower than 0.02, the cosmetics are easily pushed by external stimuli and the flexibility of the film formed upon application is insufficient, resulting in poor comfort on the lips, and in the case of Comparative Examples 5 and 6 in which the weight ratio of the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone to the silicone elastomer is higher than 1.5, it is difficult to express a blurry texture due to the alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone that has gloss, the coating film does not adhere closely, the lips feel heavy upon application, and the cosmetics are easily pushed by external stimuli. The durability is also poor, and in the case of Comparative Example 7 containing silicone oil containing a phenyl group, it was difficult to express a blurry texture, the cosmetics were easily pushed away by external stimuli, the pigment was easily erased, and the residue was high, so the film was thick and the durability was poor, and the feeling of use was also poor.

[0072] In order to evaluate the dispersibility of the lipstick compositions of Example 2 and Comparative Examples 8 to 11, the beakers containing each lipstick composition were left in a 95°C oven for 1 hour, cooled, and then the surfaces were observed with the naked eye. The results are shown in Fig. 3a (Example 2) and Fig. 3b (from the left, Comparative Examples 8, 9, 10, and 11).

[0073] From the results of FIGS. 3a and 3b, it was confirmed that in the case of Example 2 according to one embodiment of the present invention, the pigment on the surface of the lipstick composition was maintained uniformly, whereas in the case of Comparative Examples 8 to 11, the pigment settled and the contents separated, resulting in a significant decrease in dispersibility.

1. A cosmetic composition for lips comprising an alkyl glyceryl ether modified silicone and a silicone elastomer.
