Abstract
Description
Terminal, network node, and communication method
[0001] The present invention relates to a terminal, a network node, and a communication method in a communication system.
[0002] 3GPP (registered trademark) (3rd Generation Partnership Project) is currently studying a wireless communication system called 5G or NR (New Radio) (hereinafter, the wireless communication system will be referred to as "5G" or "NR") in order to achieve a larger system capacity, a higher data transmission speed, and a lower latency in wireless sections. Various wireless technologies are being studied for 5G to meet the requirements of achieving a throughput of 10 Gbps or more while keeping latency in wireless sections to 1 ms or less.
[0003] In NR, a network architecture including 5GC (5G Core Network) corresponding to EPC (Evolved Packet Core), which is the core network in the network architecture of LTE (Long Term Evolution), and NG-RAN (Next Generation - Radio Access Network) corresponding to E-UTRAN (Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network), which is the RAN (Radio Access Network) in the network architecture of LTE, is being considered (for example, Non-Patent Document 1).
[0004] Furthermore, as an IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) architecture that supports the data channel capabilities of terminals, specifications for an IMS data channel network are being studied (see, for example, Non-Patent Document 2). In the IMS data channel network, a Data Channel Signalling Function (DCSF) having a signaling function, a Media Function (MF) having a media-related function, and a Data Channel Application Server (DCAS) that is an application server are arranged on both the calling and called sides.
[0005] 3GPP TS 23.501 V18.4.0 (2023-12) 3GPP TS 23.228 V18.4.0 (2023-12) 3GPP TS 26.114 V18.5.0 (2023-12)
[0006] In the existing specifications of the IMS data channel network, multiple bootstrap data channels (DCs) can be established between a source terminal and a destination terminal. After the bootstrap DCs are established, the destination terminal downloads DC applications.
[0007] Here, if multiple bootstrap DCs are established, the destination terminal may not be able to identify the bootstrap DC from which to download the DC application.
[0008] The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and has as its object to enable a terminal to download a data channel application when multiple bootstrap data channels are established in a communication system.
[0009] According to the disclosed technology, there is provided a terminal having a transmitting unit that transmits to a destination terminal a message requesting the establishment of an application DC, the message including a DC (Data Channel) application to be used and information indicating a storage location of the DC application, a receiving unit that receives a message sent from the destination terminal accepting the establishment of the application DC, and a control unit that establishes the application DC for transmitting and receiving user data between the destination terminal and the destination terminal using the DC application.
[0010] According to the disclosed technique, when multiple bootstrap data channels are established in a communication system, a terminal can download a data channel application.

[0012] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the embodiment described below is an example, and the embodiment to which the present invention is applied is not limited to the following embodiment.
[0013] In the operation of the wireless communication system according to the embodiment of the present invention, existing technology is used as appropriate. However, the existing technology is, for example, the existing LTE, but is not limited to the existing LTE. Furthermore, the term "LTE" used in this specification has a broad meaning including LTE-Advanced, and systems subsequent to LTE-Advanced (e.g., NR), or wireless LAN (Local Area Network), unless otherwise specified.
[0014] Furthermore, in the embodiments of the present invention, "configuring" radio parameters and the like may mean that predetermined values are pre-configured, or that radio parameters notified from the network node 30 or the terminal 20 are set.
[0015] Fig. 1 is a diagram illustrating an example of a communication system. As shown in Fig. 1, the communication system is composed of a UE, which is a terminal 20, and multiple network nodes 30. Hereinafter, it is assumed that one network node 30 corresponds to each function, but multiple functions may be realized by one network node 30, or multiple network nodes 30 may realize one function. Furthermore, the "connection" described below may be a logical connection or a physical connection.
[0016] The RAN (Radio Access Network) is a network node 30 having a radio access function, which may include a base station 10, and is connected to a UE, an AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function), and a UPF (User plane function). The NSSF is a network node 30 having functions such as selecting a network slice to which a UE connects, determining an allowed NSSAI (Network Slice Selection Assistance Information), determining an NSSAI to be set, and determining an AMF set to which a UE connects. The PCF is a network node 30 having a function of controlling network policies. The AF is a network node 30 having a function of controlling application servers. The NRF is a network node 30 having a function of discovering NF instances that provide services. The UDM is a network node 30 that manages subscriber data and authentication data. The UDM is connected to a UDR (User Data Repository) that stores the data.
[0019] Fig. 2 is a diagram illustrating an example of a communication system in a roaming environment. As shown in Fig. 2, the network is composed of a UE, which is a terminal 20, and multiple network nodes 30. Hereinafter, it is assumed that one network node 30 corresponds to each function, but multiple functions may be realized by one network node 30, or multiple network nodes 30 may realize one function. Furthermore, the "connection" described below may be a logical connection or a physical connection.
[0020] The RAN is a network node 30 having a radio access function, and is connected to the UE, the AMF, and the UPF. The AMF is a network node 30 having functions such as RAN interface termination, NAS termination, registration management, connection management, reachability management, and mobility management. The UPF is a network node 30 having functions such as a PDU session point to the outside that interconnects with the DN, packet routing and forwarding, and user plane QoS handling. The UPF and the DN constitute a network slice. In the wireless communication network according to the embodiment of the present invention, multiple network slices are constructed.
[0021] The AMF is connected to the UE, RAN, SMF, NSSF, NEF, NRF, UDM, AUSF, PCF, AF, and SEPP (Security Edge Protection Proxy). The AMF, SMF, NSSF, NEF, NRF, UDM, AUSF, PCF, and AF are network nodes 30 that are interconnected via respective service-based interfaces, Namf, Nsmf, Nnssf, Nnef, Nnrf, Nudm, Nausf, Npcf, and Naf.
[0022] The SMF is a network node 30 having functions such as session management, UE IP address allocation and management, DHCP function, ARP proxy, and roaming function. The NEF is a network node 30 having a function of notifying other NFs of capabilities and events. The PCF is a network node 30 having a function of controlling network policies. The AF is a network node 30 having a function of controlling application servers. The NRF is a network node 30 having a function of discovering NF instances that provide services. The SEPP is a non-transparent proxy that filters control plane messages between PLMNs (Public Land Mobile Networks). The vSEPP shown in FIG. 2 is a SEPP in the visited network, and the hSEPP is a SEPP in the home network.
[0023] As shown in Figure 2, a UE is in a roaming environment connected to a RAN and an AMF in a Visited PLMN (VPLMN). The VPLMN and a Home PLMN (HPLMN) are connected via a vSEPP and an hSEPP. The UE can communicate with a UDM in the HPLMN via the AMF in the VPLMN, for example.
[0024] Fig. 3 is a diagram illustrating an example of an IMS data channel network. As shown in Fig. 3, the IMS data channel network is configured with a terminal 20 (UE) and multiple network nodes 30 in each of an originating network and a terminating network. Hereinafter, it is assumed that one network node 30 corresponds to each function, but multiple functions may be realized by one network node 30, or multiple network nodes 30 may realize one function. Furthermore, the "connection" described below may be a logical connection or a physical connection. The network node 30 has, for example, the following functions described in Non-Patent Document 2:
[0025] The IMS-AGW (Access Gateway) is a network node 30 having a gateway function between the UE and the IMS network.
[0026] A P-CSCF (Proxy-Call Session Control Function) is a network node 30 having a proxy function between the UE and the IMS network.
[0027] The S-CSCF (Serving-Call Session Control Function) is a network node 30 having functions related to session control for the UE.
[0028] The I-CSCF (Interrogate-Call Session Control Function) is a connection point on the destination network side between networks (e.g., between the source network side and the destination network side) in the IMS network, and is a network node 30 that has, for example, the function of forwarding a received SIP request to the S-CSCF of its own network.
[0029] An IMS AS (IP Multimedia Subsystem Application Server) is a network node 30 in an IMS network that has functions such as communicating with a DCSF for event notification and receiving data channel control instructions from the DCSF and communicating with a DCMF. The IMS AS also receives a communication termination point registration request from a DCSF (Data Channel Signalling Function), converts the received registration request into a SIP Register, and sends it to a Serving-Call Session Control Function (S-CSCF). The IMS AS also converts a data channel establishment request received from the DCSF into a SIP INVITE and sends it to the S-CSCF.
[0030] The DCSF (Data Channel Signaling Function) is a network node 30 that has functions such as receiving an event report from the IMS-AS and determining whether to allow the provision of a data channel service, managing the bootstrap data channel, and performing HTTP web server functions.
[0031] An MF (Media Function) is a network node 30 in an IMS network that has functions such as media resource management and forwarding of data channel media traffic. The MF processes media between a DCAS (Data Channel Application Server), which is a communication termination point, and a destination termination point based on configuration information received from a DCSF. The MF may also be called a DCMF (Data Channel Media Function). The MF may also be called an MRF (Multimedia Resource Function).
[0032] A DCAS (Data Channel Application Server) is a network node 30 having functions such as a communication termination point for media and signaling in the IMS network.
[0033] (Example) A procedure for a terminal to download a data channel application when multiple bootstrap data channels are established in a communication system will be described. In this example, a calling terminal sends a message (SIP INVITE) requesting a call in SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) to a called terminal, whereby a bootstrap data channel (Bootstrap DC) procedure is executed and a Bootstrap DC is established between the calling terminal and the called terminal.
[0034] The calling terminal sets a specific value (e.g., 0, 10, 100, 110; see Table 6.2.10.1-2 in Non-Patent Document 3) to the value of a=dcmap in the SDP (Session Description Protocol) offer, which is configuration information included in the SIP INVITE. This setting specifies that the calling terminal and the called terminal establish a Bootstrap DC from the same content source belonging to a DCSF present in either the source network or the destination network. The calling terminal and the called terminal download common content, i.e., a common DC application, from the same content source. Here, a value of a=dcmap is associated with each DC application. The calling terminal establishes an application DC with the called terminal by sending a SIP re-INVITE including a=dcmap in the SDP offer, and communicates using the DC application. Here, the called terminal may download the DC application immediately after the Bootstrap DC is established or when the application DC is established.
[0035] In this embodiment, it is assumed that the terminating terminal has established multiple Bootstrap DCs. Furthermore, it is assumed that the terminating terminal downloads a DC application when an application DC is established. The calling terminal sends a SIP re-INVITE to the terminating terminal, for example, including a=dcmap:6776 in the SDP offer. The terminating terminal recognizes that it needs to download a DC application from the information a=dcmap:6776 included in the received SIP re-INVITE. Here, under existing specifications, the terminating terminal cannot identify the Bootstrap DC from which to download the DC application. In this embodiment, the terminal adds an identifier (10) that identifies the Bootstrap DC used when downloading the DC application to the value of a=dcmap (6776) in the SDP offer, setting it as, for example, a=dcmap:10.6776.
[0036] The details of the processing in this embodiment will be described below using a sequence diagram. Fig. 4 is a diagram showing an example of a sequence diagram in an embodiment of the present invention. In this sequence diagram, processing related to establishment of an application data channel is performed in terminal 20A (originating terminal), terminating NW (Network) / terminal 20B, P-CSCF 30A, I / S-CSCF 30B (I-CSCF and S-CSCF), IMS AS 30C, DCSF 30E, and MF / MRF 30F. The processing of each step in Fig. 4 will be described below.
[0037] S0: An IMS session and a bootstrap data channel (DC) are established between the terminal 20A and the terminal 20B. The terminal 20A and the terminal 20B can establish multiple bootstrap DCs via the MF and / or MRF (MF / MRF) of the originating network and the MF and / or MRF (MF / MRF) of the terminating network. The terminal 20A and the terminal 20B download multiple bootstrap DC applications from the DCSF of the originating network and the DCSF of the terminating network.
[0038] S1: The terminal 20A sends a SIP reINVITE including an updated SDP to the IMS AS 30C via the P-CSCF 30A and S-CSCF 30B in the source network. Here, the updated SDP includes information about the bootstrap DC as well as binding information between the requested application DC and the associated DC application, i.e., information a=dcmap. Here, the value of a=dcmap includes information indicating an identifier for identifying the Bootstrap DC used when downloading the DC application and an identifier of the DC application.
[0039] S2: The IMS AS 30C performs verification of the user's subscription information to determine whether or not to notify the DCSF 30E of a media change request event.
[0040] S3: The IMS AS 30C sends a notification message (Nimsas_SessionEventControl_Notify) regarding session event control to the DCSF 30E. The notification message includes a session identifier (Session ID), an event identifier (Event ID), and a list of information related to media (Media Info List).
[0041] S4: After receiving the notification of the session event, the DCSF 30E determines a policy for processing the application DC establishment request based on the received binding information for associating the DC application, that is, the information a=dcmap.
[0042] S5: The DCSF 30E determines that the terminal 20B is a termination point in the media description of the added application DC and does not require termination at the local MF or MRF. If the MF or MRF needs to terminate the application DC, the DCSF 30E instructs the IMS AS 30C to allocate DC media resources for the MF or MRF.
[0043] S6: The DCSF 30E sends a response message (Nimsas_SessionEventControl_NotifyResponse) to the notification received in S3 to the IMS AS 30C.
[0044] S7: The IMS AS 30C sends a message (reINVITE) including the updated settings to the I / S-CSCF 30B.
[0045] S8: The I / S-CSCF 30B sends a message (reINVITE) including the updated settings to the terminating NW and the terminal 20B.
[0046] S9: Based on the information (binding information) associating the DC application in the SDP offer of the message (reINVITE) received in S8, i.e., the information a=dcmap, the terminal 20B associates the bootstrap DC with the related bootstrap DC application. Also, if necessary, the terminal 20B may use the bootstrap DC application to download the DC application set in the SDP offer.
[0047] S10: After downloading the DC application, the terminal 20B sends a response message (200 OK) to the message received in S8 to the I / S-CSCF 30B. The response message includes setting information (SDP answer) for the source network for the application DC. The terminal 20B may determine whether to use the DC application based on the received information associating the DC application.
[0048] S11: The I / S-CSCF 30B sends the response message (200 OK) received in S10 to the IMS AS 30C.
[0049] S12: The IMS AS 30C sends to the DCSF 30E a notification message (Nimsas_SessionEventControl_Notify) containing information indicating that the data channel has been successfully updated.
[0050] S13: The DCSF 30E sends a response message (Nimsas_SessionEventControl_Notify Response) to the notification message received in S12 to the IMS AS 30C.
[0051] S14: The IMS AS 30C transmits the response message (200 OK) received in S11 to the I / S-CSCF 30B.
[0052] S15: The I / S-CSCF 30B transmits the response message (200 OK) received in S14 to the P-CSCF 30A.
[0053] S16: The P-CSCF 30A executes the QoS procedure for the application DC based on the setting information (SDP answer) included in the response message (200 OK) received in S15.
[0054] S17: The P-CSCF 30A transmits the response message (200 OK) received in S15 to the terminal 20A.
[0055] S18: The terminal 20A transmits a response message (ACK) to the terminating NW.
[0056] S19: An application DC is established between the terminal 20 A and the terminal 20 B. In this sequence diagram, the application DC is not terminated in the MF / MRF.
[0057] S20: Data of the application DC is transmitted and received between the terminal 20A and the terminal 20B.
[0058] That is, the originating terminal (terminal 20A) transmits a message to the destination terminal (terminal 20B) requesting the establishment of an application DC, which includes a DC (Data Channel) application to be used and information indicating the storage location of the DC application. Furthermore, the originating terminal (terminal 20A) receives a message transmitted from the destination terminal (terminal 20B) accepting the establishment of the application DC. Furthermore, the originating terminal (terminal 20A) establishes the application DC for transmitting and receiving user data using the DC application with the destination terminal (terminal 20B).
[0059] Furthermore, the terminating terminal (terminal 20B) receives a first message, transmitted from the originating terminal (terminal 20A), requesting the establishment of an application DC, which includes a DC (Data Channel) application and information indicating the storage location of the DC application. Furthermore, the terminating terminal (terminal 20B) transmits a second message requesting the DC application to a network node corresponding to the storage location. Furthermore, the terminating terminal (terminal 20B) receives a third message including the DC application from the network node. Furthermore, the terminating terminal (terminal 20B) transmits a fourth message to the originating terminal (terminal 20A) accepting the establishment of the application DC.
[0060] Furthermore, before receiving a first message requesting establishment of the application DC, the destination terminal (terminal 20B) establishes a plurality of bootstrap DCs to connect to a plurality of storage destination network nodes that store the plurality of DC applications. Furthermore, the destination terminal (terminal 20B) receives a plurality of bootstrap DC applications corresponding to each of the plurality of bootstrap DCs. Furthermore, the destination terminal (terminal 20B) stores the storage destinations of the DC applications in association with the bootstrap DC applications. Furthermore, when the destination terminal (terminal 20B) receives a first message requesting establishment of the application DC, it derives the corresponding bootstrap DC application from information indicating the storage destination, and acquires the DC application using the bootstrap DC application.
[0061] In addition, DCSF30E receives a first message requesting the establishment of an application DC, which includes a DC (Data Channel) application and information indicating the storage location of the DC application, sent from the originating terminal (terminal 20A), and when changing the storage location of the DC application and presenting it to the destination terminal (terminal 20B), it sends the first message including information indicating the changed storage location.
[0062] The above embodiment allows a terminal to download a data channel application when multiple bootstrap data channels are established in a communication system.
