Abstract
Description
[0001] EARMUFFS FILLER STRUCTURE
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD
[0003] The invention relates to earmuffs for providing sound insulation for the ear, comprising two over-ear bodies and at least one bridge connecting said over-ear bodies to each other.
[0004] PRIOR ART
[0005] Today, noise-canceling earmuffs are used in various environments. Especially in noisy areas such as workshops, these earmuffs reduce outside noise, providing a safer environment for health. In this respect, noise-canceling earmuffs are also of great importance in terms of occupational safety in workplaces. Constant exposure to noise at high decibel levels threatens hearing health, therefore the use of noise-canceling earmuffs becomes crucial for those working in such environments. Currently, noisecanceling earmuffs are produced in different types, in-ear and over-ear.
[0006] Over-ear earmuffs have an outer body comprising special materials to provide sound isolation and a sponged interior that provides a comfortable contact with the ear. This sponge is cut and shaped to match the shape of the earmuffs, and then covered with a layer of fabric, leather or similar. This process makes the production of the earmuffs laborious. In addition, depending on the current production methods, the bodies of the earmuffs usually have a very thick structure. This, in turn, affects the overall weight and size of the earmuffs, playing a negative role on the user experience. Further, there are also inadequacies in terms of insulation.
[0007] As a result, all the above-mentioned problems have made it imperative to make an innovation in the relevant technical field.
[0008] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The present invention relates to earmuffs for eliminating the above-mentioned disadvantages and bringing new advantages to the relevant technical field. An object of the invention is to introduce earmuffs that are easy to manufacture.
[0010] Another object of the invention is to introduce earmuffs with improved insulation properties.
[0011] Another object of the invention is to introduce earmuffs with a reduced over-ear body thickness and weight.
[0012] In order to achieve all the objects mentioned above and that will emerge from the following detailed description, the present invention is earmuffs for providing sound insulation for the ear, comprising two over-ear bodies and at least one bridge connecting said over-ear bodies to each other, it comprises at least one flexible layer comprising at least one curved form protruding towards the ear on the ear-facing part of the over-ear body, said flexible layer is connected to at least one frame, it comprises at least one filler pool formed by the curved form of said flexible layer between said frame and said flexible layer, it comprises at least one opening to allow for the stacking of filler material in said filler pool, it comprises at least one cover connected to the frame to cover said opening. This results in earmuffs that are easy to manufacture, with reduced over-ear body thickness and weight, and improved insulating properties.
[0013] A possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it comprises at least one slot on the frame, and it comprises at least one tab on the cover which engages in the slot to enable the cover to be connected to the frame in a snap-fit manner. Thus, the cover is connected to the frame in a snap-fit manner.
[0014] Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the frame comprises at least one middle profile positioned in the center of the over-ear body and at least two support profiles extending in different directions from each other. Thus, the rigid frame ensures that the over-the-ear body has a form to cover the ear.
[0015] Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the filler material is borosilicate with glass fibers. Thus, while the insulation level increases, a comfortable use is offered. The present invention is a method for producing earmuffs for providing sound insulation for the ear, comprising two over-ear bodies and at least one bridge connecting said over-ear bodies to each other. Accordingly, its novelty is that it comprises the process steps of connecting said at least one flexible layer to at least one frame of the over-ear body, forming said flexible layer with a curved form protruding towards the ear, filling at least one filler material into a filler pool formed by said curved form through at least one opening leading to the filler pool, covering the opening with at least one cover after the filling process is completed. This results in earmuffs that are easy to manufacture, with reduced over-ear body thickness and weight, and improved insulating properties.
[0016] Another possible embodiment of the invention is characterized in that it comprises the step of selecting borosilicate with glass fibers as filler material. Thus, while the insulation level increases, a comfortable use is offered.
[0017] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS
[0018] Fig. 1 shows a representative isometric view of the earmuffs of the invention.
[0019] Fig. 2 shows a representative isometric view of the over-ear body of the inventive earmuffs, separated from the cover.
[0020] Fig. 3 shows a representative side section view of the over-ear body of the inventive earmuffs.
[0021] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0022] In this detailed description, the subject of the invention is explained by way of example only for a better understanding of the subject, which shall not create any limiting effect.
[0023] Fig. 1 shows a representative isometric view of the earmuffs (10) of the invention. Said earmuffs (10) are configured to provide ear-sound isolation and is essentially of the over-ear type. Accordingly, the earmuffs (10) comprise two over-ear bodies (20). Each of said over-ear bodies (20) covers one ear of the person. The over-ear bodies (20) are connected to each other by at least one bridge (30). Fig. 2 shows a representative isometric view of the over-ear body (20), and fig. 3 shows a representative side-sectional view of the over-ear body (20). Accordingly, the over-ear body (20) comprises at least one frame (21 ) and at least one flexible layer (22) connected to said frame (21 ). Said flexible layer (22) has at least one curved form (I) in which the flexible layer (22) curves towards the person's ear. The curved form (I) forms at least one filler pool (221 ) between the flexible layer (22) and the frame (21). The filler pool (221 ) is essentially a cavity that allows filler material to be stacked therein. For this, the over-ear body (20) comprises at least one opening (23) that leads to the filler pool (221). Said opening is provided on the frame (21) side. The filler material is stacked from said opening (23) into the filler pool (221 ).
[0024] The over-ear body (20) comprises at least one cover (24). Said cover (24) is located on the side of the over-ear body (20) connected to the bridge (30) and serves to cover the opening (23). Thus, when the opening (23) is covered by the cover (24), the filler material in the filler pool (221) remains in a closed (24) volume. There is at least one slot (213) on the frame (21). There is also at least one tab (241) on the cover (24) configured to fit into said slot (213). Thanks to said tab (241) and slot (213) structure, the cover (24) can be closed detachably
[0025] The rigid frame (21) ensures that the flexible layer (22) and the filler material inside the filler pool (221 ) have a form for covering the ear. Said form is usually a rounded rectangle or ellipse to adapt to the form of the ear and completely cover the ear. To provide said form, the frame (21 ) comprises at least one middle profile (211 ) and at least one support profile (212). In the preferred embodiment, there are at least two support profiles (212) extending in different directions.
[0026] Fig. 3 shows a representative side sectional view of the over-ear body (20) of the inventive earmuffs (10) with the filler material placed inside. The flexible layer (22) in the inventive earmuffs (10) can be manufactured from elastomer or silicone. The filler material is glass fiber borosilicate due to its sound insulation properties in the preferred embodiment. However, polyurethane can also be preferred as a filler material. The materials specified for the flexible layer (22) and the filler material are not exclusive. It is possible to use different materials according to the needs and usage areas. Thanks to all of the explained embodiment and production methods, ease of manufacturing is provided since the inventive earmuffs (10) do not comprise a sponge layer as in the present art. However, since sound insulation is provided in the part that covers the ear of the person and comes into contact with the ear, there is no need for additional thick and heavy bodies. The thickness of the entire body of the earmuffs (10) can be predetermined by the amount of filler material. Different filling materials can be preferred according to the needs. Again, since there is no main body and a sponge layer manufactured separately from the main body, and there is a monolithic body for the over-ear body (20), the insulation properties are improved.
[0027] The scope of protection of the invention is specified in the appended claims and cannot be limited to what is described for illustrative purposes in this detailed description. It is clear that a person skilled in the art can produce similar embodiments in the light of what is explained above, without deviating from the main theme of the invention.
