Description

Information sending method, information receiving method and related devices

[0001] This application claims priority to the Chinese patent application filed with the State Intellectual Property Office on April 2, 2024, with application number 202410398040.X and invention name “Information sending method, information receiving method and related devices”, the entire contents of which are incorporated by reference into this application. Technical Field

[0002] The present application relates to the field of communication technology, and in particular to an information sending method, an information receiving method, and related devices. Background Art

[0003] The fifth-generation mobile communication system (5G) can use high-frequency communication, that is, using ultra-high frequency band (such as 28GHz) signals to transmit data. A major problem with high-frequency communication is that the signal energy drops sharply with transmission distance, resulting in a short signal transmission distance. To overcome this problem, high-frequency communication uses analog beam technology. By weighting the antenna array, the signal energy is concentrated within a smaller angle range, forming a signal similar to a light beam (called an analog beam, or simply beam), thereby increasing the transmission distance. Both network equipment and terminal devices use beams for transmission. Specific beams are required for uplink and downlink data transmission.

[0004] The network device and the terminal device can select a suitable beam through the beam management process, and then communicate with the terminal device through the selected beam. Specifically, the terminal device can measure the reference signal from the network device to obtain the measurement result. The terminal device can report the measurement result to the network device. In version 19 (release 19, R19), a reporting method triggered by user equipment (UE) or event is introduced. When an event occurs, the terminal device can report the measurement result corresponding to the event to the network device. Specifically, the terminal device can request reporting resources from the network device. Then, the network device allocates reporting resources to the terminal device. The terminal device reports the measurement result through the reporting resource.

[0005] However, if the terminal device requests reporting resources, the network device allocates reporting resources to the terminal device, and the terminal device reports the measurement results through the reporting resources, resulting in a long reporting delay. Summary of the Invention

[0151] Embodiments of the present application provide an information sending method, an information receiving method, and related apparatuses, configured for a terminal device to determine a reporting resource opportunity in a second period based on a reporting indication resource opportunity in a first period, and to send measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to a network device via the reporting resource opportunity in the second period. This enables the terminal device to quickly determine the reporting resource opportunity for reporting the measurement result information, thereby reducing the latency in reporting the measurement result information.

[0152] The following will be combined with the drawings in the embodiments of the present application to clearly and completely describe the technical solutions in the embodiments of the present application. Obviously, the embodiments described are only part of the embodiments of the present application, not all of the embodiments. Based on the embodiments in the present application, all other embodiments obtained by those skilled in the art without making creative efforts are within the scope of protection of this application.

[0153] References to "one embodiment" or "some embodiments" in this application mean that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in conjunction with that embodiment is included in one or more embodiments of the application. Thus, phrases such as "in one embodiment," "in some embodiments," "in other embodiments," and "in other embodiments" appearing in various places in this specification do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment, but rather mean "one or more but not all embodiments," unless otherwise specifically emphasized. The terms "including," "comprising," "having," and variations thereof mean "including but not limited to," unless otherwise specifically emphasized.

[0154] In the description of this application, unless otherwise specified, " / " means "or", for example, A / B can mean A or B. "And / or" in this article is merely a description of the association relationship of associated objects, indicating that there can be three relationships. For example, A and / or B can mean: A exists alone, A and B exist at the same time, and B exists alone. In addition, "at least one" means one or more, and "plurality" means two or more. "At least one of the following items" or similar expressions refers to any combination of these items, including any combination of single items or plural items. For example, at least one of a, b, or c can mean: a, b, c; a and b; a and c; b and c; or a, b, and c. Among them, a, b, and c can be single or multiple.

[0155] It is understood that in this application, "indication" can include direct indication, indirect indication, explicit indication, and implicit indication. When describing that a certain indication information is used to indicate A, it can be understood that the indication information carries A, directly indicates A, or indirectly indicates A.

[0156] The technical solution of the present application can be applied to various communication systems. For example, the fifth generation mobile communication (5th generation, 5G) system, the new radio (NR) system, the long term evolution (LTE) system, the LTE frequency division duplex (FDD) system, the LTE time division duplex (TDD) system, the universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS), the mobile communication system after the 5G network (for example, the 6G mobile communication system), the vehicle to everything (V2X) communication system, the device to device (D2D) communication system, the Internet of Things communication system, the industrial Internet communication system, or the satellite communication system. The wireless communication system involved in the present application also includes but is not limited to: a narrowband Internet of Things system (NB-IoT).

[0157] The communication system to which this application applies includes terminal equipment and network equipment. The terminal equipment and network equipment are introduced below.

[0158] Terminal equipment, also known as UE, mobile station (MS), mobile terminal (MT), fixed wireless access (FWA), or customer premise equipment (CPE), is a device that includes wireless communication capabilities (providing voice / data connectivity to users). Examples include handheld devices with wireless connectivity, in-vehicle devices, and machine type communication (MTC) terminals. Currently, terminal devices include: mobile phones, tablets, laptops, PDAs, mobile internet devices (MIDs), wearable devices, virtual reality (VR) devices, augmented reality (AR) devices, wireless terminals in industrial control, wireless terminals in self-driving (e.g., drones, vehicles), wireless terminals in remote medical surgery, wireless terminals in smart grids, wireless terminals in transportation safety, wireless terminals in smart cities, and wireless terminals in smart homes. For example, wireless terminals in self-driving can be drones, helicopters, or airplanes. For example, wireless terminals in the Internet of Vehicles can be in-vehicle equipment, complete vehicle equipment, in-vehicle modules, vehicles, or ships. Wireless terminals in industrial control can be cameras, robots, or robotic arms. Wireless terminals in smart homes can be televisions, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, speakers, or set-top boxes. The terminal device may also be a device or module that is connected to the communication system shown above and has corresponding communication functions. The terminal device is usually provided with a communication module, circuit or chip that performs the corresponding communication function, and the terminal device is also configured with program instructions for performing the corresponding communication function.

[0159] It should be noted that the terminal device can be a device or apparatus with a chip, or a device or apparatus with an integrated circuit, or a chip, chip system, module or control unit in the device or apparatus shown above, and this application does not limit it specifically. It should be noted that in this application, when referring to a terminal device, it can refer to the terminal device itself, or it can refer to a chip, functional module or integrated circuit in the terminal device that performs the method provided in this application, and this application does not limit it specifically.

[0160] A network device is a device deployed in a radio access network (RAN) to provide wireless communication capabilities for terminal devices. It can also be called an access network (RAN) entity, access node, network node, access network equipment, or communication device.

[0161] Specifically, the network device may be an access network device of a cellular system related to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). For example, a fourth-generation (4G) mobile communication system, a 5G mobile communication system, or a 6G mobile communication system. The network device may also be an access network device in an ORAN or a cloud radio access network (CRAN). Alternatively, the network device may be an access network device in a communication system obtained by integrating two or more of the above communication systems.

[0162] The network equipment includes, but is not limited to, evolved Node B (eNB), radio network controller (RNC), Node B (NB), base station controller (BSC), base transceiver station (BTS), home base station (e.g., home evolved NodeB, or home Node B, HNB), baseband unit (BBU), access point (AP) in wireless fidelity (WIFI) system, macro base station, micro base station, wireless relay node, donor node, wireless controller in CRAN scenario, wireless backhaul node, transmission point (TP) or transmission receiving point (transmit / receive point or transmission and reception point, TRP). The network equipment may also be access network equipment in a 5G mobile communication system. For example, a next generation NodeB (gNB) in a new radio (NR) system, a TRP, a TP, or one or a group of antenna panels (including multiple antenna panels) of a base station in a 5G mobile communication system. Alternatively, the network device may also be a network node constituting a gNB or a transmission point. For example, a centralized unit (CU), a distributed unit (DU), a CU-control plane (CP), a CU-user plane (UP), or a radio unit (RU). The CU and DU may be configured separately or included in the same network element. For example, a BBU. The RU may be included in a radio frequency device or radio frequency unit. For example, in a remote radio unit (RRU), an active antenna unit (AAU), or a remote radio head (RRH). Alternatively, the network device may also be a server, a wearable device, a vehicle, or an on-board device. For example, in V2X technology, the network device may be a road side unit (RSU).

[0163] It should be noted that in different systems, CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU or RU may have different names, but those skilled in the art can understand their meanings. For example, in the ORAN system, CU may also be called an open centralized unit (O-CU) or an open CU, DU may also be called an open distributed unit (O-DU), a centralized unit control plane (CU-CP) may also be called an open centralized unit control plane (O-CU-CP) or an open CU-CP, a centralized unit user plane (CU-UP) may also be called an open centralized unit user plane (O-CU-UP) or an open CU-UP, and RU may also be called an open radio unit (O-RU). This application does not limit this. Any of the CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU and RU in this application may be implemented by a software module, a hardware module, or a combination of a software module and a hardware module.

[0164] Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of an ORAN system according to an embodiment of the present application. The ORAN system includes a core network, access network equipment, and a user equipment terminal (UE). Optionally, the ORAN system may include other components in addition to those shown in Figure 1, which are not specifically limited in this application.

[0165] Access network equipment can communicate with the core network (CN) via a backhaul link. Access network equipment can also communicate with UEs via the air interface. Specifically, the BBU in the access network equipment communicates with the core network via the backhaul link. The RU in the access network equipment communicates with at least one UE via the air interface. The BBU communicates with at least one RU via the fronthaul link. The BBU and RU may or may not be co-located.

[0166] The BBU includes at least one CU and at least one DU, and the CU and the DU can communicate with each other through at least one midhaul link.

[0167] In one possible implementation, as shown in Figure 2, the CU is a logical node that carries the radio resource control (RRC), service data adaptation protocol (SDAP) layer, packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer, and other control functions of the access network equipment. The CU can be connected to network nodes such as the core network through certain interfaces, such as the E2 interface. Optionally, the CU can have some of the core network's functions. The CU (e.g., the CU's PDCP layer and / or higher layers) is connected to the DU (e.g., the DU's radio link control (RLC) layer and lower layers) through certain interfaces, such as the F1 interface. Optionally, the F1 interface can provide control plane (C-Plane) and user plane (U-Plane) functions (e.g., interface management, system information management, UE context management, RRC message transmission, etc.). F1AP is the application protocol of the F1 interface, which, in some examples, defines the F1 signaling process. The F1 interface supports the control plane F1-C and the user plane F1-U.

[0168] Optionally, as shown in Figure 2, the CU can be split into CU-CP and CU-UP, where the CU-CP is a logical node of the control plane (control plane part of PDCP, PDCP-C) layer that carries the RRC layer and the packet data convergence protocol layer, and is used to implement the control plane function of the CU. The CU-CP can interact with the network elements in the core network for implementing the control plane function. The network elements in the core network for implementing the control plane function can be access and mobility function network elements, such as the access and mobility management function (AMF) in the 5G system. The AMF network element is responsible for mobility management in the mobile network, such as location update of terminal equipment, registration network of terminal equipment, switching of terminal equipment, etc. The CU-UP is a logical node of the user plane (user plane part of PDCP, PDCP-U) layer that carries the SDAP layer and the packet data convergence protocol layer, and is used to implement the user plane function of the CU. The CU-UP can interact with the network elements in the core network for implementing the user plane function. The network elements used to implement user plane functions in the core network, such as the user plane function (UPF) in the 5G system, are responsible for forwarding and receiving data in the terminal equipment. The above configuration of CU and DU is only an example. In actual applications, the functions of CU and DU can also be configured as needed. For example, the CU or DU can be configured to have functions of more protocol layers, or the CU or DU can be configured to have partial processing functions of the protocol layer. For example, some functions of the RLC layer and the functions of the protocol layers above the RLC layer are set in the CU, and the remaining functions of the RLC layer and the functions of the protocol layers below the RLC layer are set in the DU. For another example, the functions of the CU or DU can be divided according to the service type or other system requirements, such as by delay, and the functions whose processing time needs to meet the smaller delay requirement are set in the DU, and the functions that do not need to meet the delay requirement are set in the CU.

[0169] In one possible implementation, as shown in Figure 2, the DU is a logical node that carries the RLC layer, the medium or media access control (MAC) layer, the higher physical layer (Higher PHY) layer, and other functions. In some examples, the DU can control at least one RU. The DU is connected to the RU through some interfaces, which can be fronthaul interfaces. In some examples, the Higher PHY layer includes parts of the PHY layer processing, such as forward error correction (FEC) encoding and decoding, scrambling, modulation and demodulation, and other processing functions.

[0170] In one possible implementation, as shown in Figure 2, the RU is a logical node that carries the lower physical layer (Lower PHY) and radio frequency (RF) processing. In some examples, the RU can be a TRP or remote radio head (RRH) in 3GPP or other entities with similar functions. In some examples, Low-PHY includes part of the PHY processing, such as fast Fourier transform (FFT), inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), digital beamforming and filtering, and other processing functions. The RU communicates with one or more UEs via a wireless link.

[0171] The DU and RU may or may not be co-located. The DU and RU exchange control plane information and user plane information via the Lower-Layer Split CUS-Plane (LLS-CUS) interface over the fronthaul link. The LLS-CUS may include a Lower-Layer Split control (LLS-C) interface and a Lower-Layer Split user (LLS-U) interface that provide the control plane (C-Plane) and user plane (U-Plane) respectively. In some examples, the control plane (C-Plane) refers to the real-time control between the DU and the RU. The DU and the RU exchange management information via the LLS-M interface of the fronthaul link, and the management plane (M-Plane) refers to the non-real-time management operations between the DU and the RU.

[0172] The DU and RU can work together to implement the functions of the PHY layer. A DU can be connected to one or more RUs. The functions of the DU and RU can be configured in various ways according to the design. For example, the DU is configured to implement the baseband function, and the RU is configured to implement the mid-RF function. For another example, the DU is configured to implement the high-layer functions in the PHY layer, and the RU is configured to implement the low-layer functions in the PHY layer or to implement the low-layer functions and the RF functions. The high-layer functions in the physical layer may include a part of the functions of the physical layer, which is closer to the MAC layer, and the low-layer functions in the physical layer may include another part of the functions of the physical layer, which is closer to the mid-RF side.

[0173] In different systems, CU (or CU-CP and CU-UP), DU, or RU may have different names, but those skilled in the art will understand their meanings. For example, in the ORAN system, CU may also be called O-CU (Open CU), DU may also be called O-DU, CU-CP may also be called O-CU-CP, CU-UP may also be called O-CU-UP, and RU may also be called O-RU. For ease of description, this application uses CU, CU-CP, CU-UP, DU, and RU as examples for description.

[0174] It should be noted that the network device can be a device or apparatus with a chip, or a device or apparatus with an integrated circuit, or a chip, chip system, module or control unit in the device or apparatus shown above, and this application does not limit it specifically. It should be noted that in this application, when referring to a network device, it can refer to the network device itself, or it can refer to a chip, functional module or integrated circuit in the network device that performs the method provided in this application, and this application does not limit it specifically.

[0175] To facilitate understanding of the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, two possible communication systems to which the method provided in the embodiments of the present application is applicable are shown below in conjunction with FIG3 and FIG4 .

The technical solutions of the present application can be implemented between network device 311 and terminal device 321 or terminal device 322.

[0177] Figure 4 is another schematic diagram of a communication system according to an embodiment of the present application. As shown in Figure 4, the communication system may include at least two network devices and at least one terminal device. For example, network device 411, network device 412, network device 413, and terminal device 421 are shown in Figure 4. Terminal device 421 may be provided with communication services by multiple network devices. For example, as shown in Figure 4, network device 411 may transmit to terminal device 421, and network device 412 may transmit to terminal device 421. Network device 413 may transmit to terminal device 421. In other words, a terminal device may be provided with communication services by multiple network devices simultaneously. The technical solution of the present application may be executed between terminal device 421 and network device 411, network device 412, or network device 413.

[0178] In order to facilitate understanding of the technical solution of this application, some technical terms involved in this application are introduced below.

[0179] 1. Beam: A beam is a communication resource. It can be wide, narrow, or any other type of beam. Beam formation can be achieved through beamforming or other techniques. Beamforming techniques include digital beamforming, analog beamforming, and hybrid digital / analog beamforming. Different beams can be considered different resources.

[0180] In the NR protocol, beam can be called spatial domain filter, spatial filter, spatial domain parameter, spatial parameter, spatial parameter, spatial domain setting, spatial setting, quasi-colocation (QCL) information, QCL assumption, or QCL indication, etc. The beam can be indicated by the transmission configuration indicator state (TCI-state) parameter, or by the spatial relation parameter. Therefore, in this application, beam can be replaced by spatial domain filter, spatial filter, spatial domain parameter, spatial parameter, spatial setting, spatial setting, QCL information, QCL assumption, QCL indication, TCI-state (including uplink TCI-state, downlink TCI-state), or spatial relationship, etc. The above terms are also equivalent to each other. Beam can also be replaced by other terms representing beams, which are not limited in this application.

[0181] A beam used to transmit a signal may be referred to as a transmission beam (Tx beam), a spatial domain transmission filter, a spatial transmission filter, a spatial domain transmission parameter, a spatial transmission parameter, a spatial domain transmission setting, or a spatial transmission setting. The downlink transmit beam may be indicated by a TCI-state.

[0182] A beam used to receive a signal may be referred to as a reception beam (Rx beam), a spatial domain reception filter, a spatial reception filter, a spatial domain reception parameter, a spatial reception parameter, a spatial domain reception setting, or a spatial reception setting. An uplink transmit beam may be indicated by any of a spatial relationship, an uplink TCI-state, and a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource (indicating a transmit beam using the SRS). Therefore, an uplink beam may also be replaced by an SRS resource.

[0183] The transmit beam may refer to the distribution of signal strength in different directions in space after the signal is transmitted by the antenna, and the receive beam may refer to the distribution of signal strength in different directions in space of the wireless signal received from the antenna.

[0184] Furthermore, the beam may be a wide beam, a narrow beam, or other types of beams. The beam forming technology may be beamforming technology or other technologies. The beamforming technology may specifically be digital beamforming technology, analog beamforming technology, hybrid digital beamforming technology, or hybrid analog beamforming technology.

[0185] Beams generally correspond to resources. For example, when performing beam measurement, network equipment uses different resources to measure different beams. The terminal device then provides feedback on the measured resource quality, allowing the network equipment to determine the quality of the corresponding beam. During data transmission, beam information is also indicated by its corresponding resource. For example, the network equipment uses the transmission configuration indication (TCI) field in the downlink control information (DCI) to indicate the physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) beam information to the terminal device.

[0186] In one possible implementation, multiple beams with identical or similar communication characteristics are considered a single beam. A beam can include one or more antenna ports for transmitting data channels, control channels, and sounding signals. The one or more antenna ports that form a beam can also be considered an antenna port set.

[0187] 2. QCL: Quasi-colocation relationship is used to indicate that multiple resources have one or more identical or similar communication characteristics. For multiple resources with a quasi-colocation relationship, the same or similar communication configuration can be adopted. For example, if two antenna ports have a quasi-colocation relationship, the large-scale characteristics of the channel for transmitting a symbol on one port can be inferred from the large-scale characteristics of the channel for transmitting a symbol on the other port. Large-scale characteristics may include: delay spread, average delay, Doppler spread, Doppler shift, average gain, receiving parameters, terminal device receiving beam number, transmit / receive channel correlation, receive arrival angle, receiver antenna spatial correlation, main angle of arrival (AoA), average arrival angle, AoA spread, etc. Specifically, the colocation indication is used to indicate whether at least two groups of antenna ports have a colocation relationship, including: the colocation indication is used to indicate whether the channel state information reference signals sent by at least two groups of antenna ports come from the same transmission point, or the colocation indication is used to indicate whether the channel state information reference signals sent by at least two groups of antenna ports come from the same beam group.

[0188] 3. TCI: It can also be called TCI state (TCI-state). In uplink and downlink transmission, the correct beam needs to be used between the network device and the terminal device to achieve correct transmission. In downlink transmission, the network device needs to indicate to the terminal device the downlink transmission beam it uses. The terminal device can determine the appropriate receiving beam based on the downlink transmission beam, and the receiving beam is used to receive information from the network device. In uplink transmission, the network device also needs to indicate to the terminal device which uplink transmission beam the terminal device uses to send information to the network device. The network device can determine the uplink transmission beam with better signal quality for the terminal device. Both the uplink transmission beam and the downlink transmission beam can be indicated by the corresponding TCI state. Specifically, the downlink transmission beam can be indicated by the downlink TCI state, and the uplink transmission beam can be indicated by the uplink TCI state.

[0189] In the 3GPP protocol, the network device can indicate the TCI state to the terminal device through the TCI field in the downlink control information (DCI). The size of the TCI field is 3 bits, which can be specifically expressed as 8 different field values (codepoints). Each field value of the TCI field can be associated with a TCI state identifier. The TCI state identifier can uniquely identify a TCI state, and the TCI state can be a downlink TCI state or an uplink TCI state. Each field value of the TCI field can also be associated with two TCI state identifiers, and the two TCI state identifiers can uniquely identify two TCI states, and the two TCI states can include a downlink TCI state and an uplink TCI state.

[0190] The downlink TCI state includes several parameters that allow the terminal device to determine the relevant information of the downlink transmit beam and thus determine the appropriate receive beam to receive information from the network device. The TCI state is configured by the network device for each terminal device. The structure of the downlink TCI state is as follows:

[0191] Each TCI state includes its own identifier (tci-StateId) and two quasi-colocation information (QCL-info). Each QCL-info includes a reference signal resource, which is used to indicate that the downlink transmission of the TCI state should use the same downlink timing, frequency offset or receiving beam as the reference signal resource. It is specifically determined by the type of the QCL-info. The QCL type can have four values {typeA, typeB, typeC, typeD}. When the QCL type is typeA, typeB and typeC, the downlink transmission should be carried out using the same downlink timing and frequency offset as the reference signal resource. When the QCL type is typeD, the downlink transmission should be carried out using the same receiving beam as the reference signal resource. Of the two QCL-infos mentioned above, one is of typeD and the other is of typeA or typeB or typeC. The terminal device can determine which receiving beam to use to receive the corresponding downlink transmission through the QCL-info of typeD. The specific execution steps are as follows:

[0192] The network device indicates a downlink TCI state to the terminal device through DCI. The terminal device determines the reference signal resource in the QCL information of type D in the downlink TCI state. The terminal device uses the receiving beam of the reference signal resource as the receiving beam used for downlink transmission. It should be noted that the receiving beam of the reference signal resource is obtained by the terminal device in advance through the beam management process. Through the beam management process, the terminal device can determine which receiving beam is best to receive the reference signal resource, and use the receiving beam as the receiving beam of the reference signal resource.

[0193] The uplink TCI state includes a reference signal resource, which is used to indicate that the uplink transmission using this TCI state should use the same uplink transmit beam as the reference signal resource. The terminal device can determine which transmit beam to use for uplink transmission through this reference signal resource. In the uplink TCI state, the reference signal resource is not included in the QCL-info, and the QCL type is not distinguished, because there is no need to refer to the uplink timing and frequency offset information, only the uplink transmit beam. The structure of the uplink TCI state is shown below:

[0194] The specific steps are as follows:

[0195] The network device indicates a certain uplink TCI state to the terminal device through the DCI. The terminal device determines the reference signal resource in the uplink TCI state. The terminal device uses the transmit beam of the reference signal resource as the transmit beam used by the terminal device for uplink transmission. It should be noted that the transmit beam of the reference signal resource is obtained by the terminal device in advance through the beam management process.

[0196] The following describes the configuration, activation and indication of TCI status.

[0197] TCI-state configuration: The network device configures multiple TCI-states to the terminal device through RRC signaling. These TCI-states all include a QCL-Info of type D. The network device can also configure TCI-states that do not include QCL-info of type D. However, these TCI-states are not used to indicate data transmission beams and are not further explained here.

[0198] TCI-state activation: After a network device is configured with multiple TCI-states, it must activate eight of them through MAC-CE. These eight TCI-states correspond one-to-one to the eight values of the TCI field in the DCI. That is, the MAC CE determines which TCI-states correspond to the eight values of the TCI field in the DCI.

[0199] TCI state indication: The network device indicates a specific TCI-state through the TCI field in the DCI. For example, the value of the TCI field in the DCI sent by the network device to the terminal device is 000, indicating that the data transmission beam adopts the TCI state corresponding to 000. The reference signal contained in the QCL-Info of type D in this TCI state is the channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) with an index of #1, indicating that the beam used for data transmission is the same as the receiving beam corresponding to the CSI-RS with an index of #1. The receiving beam corresponding to the CSI-RS with an index of #1 can be determined through the beam measurement process and is known to the terminal device. Therefore, through the specific value of the TCI field, the terminal device can determine the beam corresponding to the data transmission beam, and thus adopt the corresponding beam to send or receive data.

[0200] It should be noted that in this document, the three descriptions of TCI state, TCI-state, and TCI status are interchangeable. Identifier, indication, indicator, index, identity, and identification are interchangeable.

[0201] 4. Reference signal resources: can be reference signal resources associated with handover candidate cells. Handover candidate cells can also be called candidate cells or neighboring cells. Handover candidate cells can be the current serving cell or the non-serving cell. The physical cell identifier (PCI) of the handover candidate cell is different from the current primary cell. The terminal device can be configured with one or more candidate cells. The configuration of each candidate cell can include the configuration of reference signal resources. The reference signal resources can be synchronization signal-broadcast channel measurement resource blocks (synchronization signal and PBCH block, SSB) resources or channel status information reference signals (CSI-RS) resources. In addition, reference signal resources can also be associated with reference signal resources of non-serving cell identifiers (additional PCI), that is, reference signal resources of neighboring cells.

[0202] 5. PUCCH format: NR supports five PUCCH formats. According to the time domain symbol length occupied by PUCCH, PUCCH is divided into the following two types:

[0203] 1. Short PUCCH: occupies one to two time domain symbols, and specifically may include PUCCH format 0 (PUCCH format 0) and PUCCH format 1 (PUCCH format 1).

[0204] 2. Long PUCCH: occupies four to fourteen time domain symbols, and specifically includes PUCCH format 1, PUCCH format 3, and PUCCH format 4.

[0205] The number of time domain symbols occupied by the five PUCCH formats and the number of bits carried are shown in Table 1 below:

[0206] Table 1

[0207] In this application, the terms reference signal, reference signal resource, measurement resource, and reference signal measurement resource may be used interchangeably.

[0208] The following introduces the reference signal resource index, reference signal resource identifier, and reference signal resource indicator.

[0209] In this application, ID can be an abbreviation of any one of identifier, indication, identity, and identification. Specifically, the network device configures one or more reference signal resources for the terminal device, and the reference signal resources are used to carry reference signals. In this application, the two terms reference signal and reference signal resource can be used interchangeably. When configuring, each reference signal resource corresponds to a reference signal resource index (index) or a reference signal resource identifier (identifier, id) to distinguish the reference signal resource. In addition, the network device can configure one or more reference signal resource sets for the terminal device. Each reference signal resource set includes one or more reference signal resources, and each reference signal resource set corresponds to a reference signal resource set identifier. In the reference signal resource set, each reference signal resource corresponds to a reference signal resource indicator (indicator). The reference signal resource indicator is 0, indicating the first reference signal resource in the reference signal resource set, and the reference signal resource indicator is 1, indicating the second reference signal resource in the reference signal resource set, and so on. When the network device indicates a reference signal resource in the reference signal resource set, or the terminal device reports the measurement result of a reference signal resource in the reference signal resource set, the reference signal resource indicator may indicate the corresponding reference signal resource.

[0210] For example, the network device configures one or more NZP CSI-RS resources for the terminal device, and the NZP CSI-RS resources are used to carry NZP CSI-RS. The two terms NZP CSI-RS and NZP CSI-RS resources can be used interchangeably. Each NZP CSI-RS resource corresponds to a non-zero power CSI-RS resource identifier (NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceId) to distinguish each NZP CSI-RS resource. In addition, the network device can be configured with one or more NZP CSI-RS resource sets, each NZP CSI-RS resource set includes one or more NZP CSI-RS resources, and each NZP CSI-RS resource set includes an NZP CSI-RS resource set identifier (NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSetId). In the NZP CSI-RS resource set, each NZP CSI-RS resource corresponds to a CSI-RS resource indicator (CSI-RS resource indicator, CRI). For example, a CRI of 0 indicates the first NZP CSI-RS resource in the NZP CSI-RS resource set, a CRI of 1 indicates the second NZP CSI-RS resource in the NZP CSI-RS resource set, and so on. When a network device indicates the NZP CSI-RS resources of a certain NZP CSI-RS resource set or a terminal device measures and reports the NZP CSI-RS resources of a certain NZP CSI-RS resource set, the CRI can be used to indicate the corresponding NZP CSI-RS resources. NZP-CSI-RS-ResourceId can be understood as a global identifier among all configured NZP-CSI-RS-Resources, and CRI can be understood as a local identifier among all NZP-CSI-RS-Resources in the NZP CSI-RS resource set.

[0211] For example, the network device configures one or more ZP CSI-RS resources for the terminal device, and the ZP CSI-RS resources are used to carry ZP CSI-RS. Usually, ZP CSI-RS and ZP CSI-RS resources can be used interchangeably. Each NP CSI-RS resource corresponds to a zero-power CSI-RS resource identifier (ZP-CSI-RS-ResourceId) to distinguish each ZP CSI-RS resource. In addition, the network device can configure one or more ZP CSI-RS resource sets, each ZP CSI-RS resource set includes one or more ZP CSI-RS resources, and each ZP CSI-RS resource set includes a ZP CSI-RS resource set identifier (ZP-CSI-RS-ResourceSetId). In the ZP CSI-RS resource set, each ZP CSI-RS resource corresponds to a CRI. For example, a CRI of 0 indicates the first ZP CSI-RS resource in the ZP CSI-RS resource set, a CRI of 1 indicates the second ZP CSI-RS resource in the ZP CSI-RS resource set, and so on. ZP-CSI-RS-ResourceId can be understood as a global identifier among all configured ZP-CSI-RS-Resources, and CRI can be understood as a local identifier among all ZP-CSI-RS-Resources in the ZP CSI-RS resource set.

[0212] For example, the network device configures one or more channel state information interference measurement (CSI-IM) resources for the terminal device. The CSI-IM resource is used to carry the channel state information interference measurement (CSI-IM RS). The two terms CSI-IM RS and CSI-IM resource can be used interchangeably. Each CSI-IM resource corresponds to a CSI-IM resource identifier (CSI-IM-ResourceId) to distinguish each CSI-IM resource. In addition, the network device can configure one or more CSI-IM resource sets, each CSI-IM resource set includes one or more CSI-IM resources, and each CSI-IM resource set includes a CSI-IM resource set identifier (CSI-IM-ResourceSetId). In the CSI-IM resource set, each CSI-IM resource corresponds to a CRI. For example, a CRI of 0 indicates the first CSI-IM resource in the CSI-IM resource set, a CRI of 1 indicates the second CSI-IM resource in the CSI-IM resource set, and so on. When a network device indicates a CSI-IM resource in a CSI-IM resource set, or when a terminal device measures and reports a CSI-IM resource in a CSI-IM resource set, the CRI can be used to indicate the corresponding CSI-IM resource. The CSI-IM-ResourceId can be understood as a global identifier for all configured CSI-IM resources, and the CRI can be understood as a local identifier for all CSI-IM resources in a CSI-IM resource set.

[0213] For example, the network device configures one or more SSB resources for the terminal device, and the SSB resources are used to carry SSBs. The two terms SSB and SSB resources can be used interchangeably. Each SSB resource corresponds to an SSB resource index (SSB-Index) to distinguish each SSB resource. In addition, the network device can configure one or more SSB resource sets, each SSB resource set includes one or more SSB resources, and each SSB resource set includes an SSB resource set identifier (CSI-SSB-ResourceSetId). In the SSB resource set, each SSB resource corresponds to an SSB resource indicator (SS / PBCH Block Resource indicator, SSBRI). For example, SSBRI is 0, indicating the first SSB resource in the SSB resource set, SSBRI is 1, indicating the second SSB resource in the SSB resource set, and so on. When the network device indicates the SSB resources of a certain SSB resource set or the terminal device measures and reports the SSB resources of a certain SSB resource set, SSBRI can be used to indicate the corresponding SSB resource. SSB-Index can be understood as a global identifier of all configured SSB resources, and SSBRI can be understood as a local identifier of all SSB resources in the SSB resource set.

[0214] For example, the network device configures one or more SRS resources for the terminal device, and the SRS resources are used to carry SRS. The two terms SRS and SRS resources can be used interchangeably. Each SRS resource corresponds to an SRS resource index (SRS-ResourceId) to distinguish each SRS resource. In addition, the network device can configure one or more SRS resource sets, each SRS resource set includes one or more SRS resources, and each SRS resource set includes an SRS resource set identifier (SRS-ResourceSetId). In the SRS resource set, each SRS resource corresponds to an SRS resource indicator (SRS Resource Indicator, SRI). For example, SRI is 0, indicating the first SRS resource in the SRS resource set, SRI is 1, indicating the second SRS resource in the SRS resource set, and so on. When the network device indicates the SRS resources of a certain SRS resource set or the terminal device reports the SRS resources of a certain SRS resource set, SRI can be used to indicate the corresponding SRS resources. SRS-ResourceId can be understood as a global identifier of all configured SRS resources, and SRI can be understood as a local identifier of all SRS resources in the SRS resource set.

[0215] Currently, terminal devices and network equipment use beam management to select appropriate beams and communicate using these beams. Beam management involves coarse beam alignment based on the SSB and fine beam adjustment based on the CSI-RS. The beam management process can be divided into three phases, each of which is described below.

[0216] Phase 1: Coarse beam alignment between network equipment and terminal equipment.

[0217] The base station performs beam scanning. Specifically, as shown in Figure 5a, the base station transmits SSBs to the terminal device at different times using beams in different directions. Simultaneously, the terminal device scans its receive beams, meaning it also receives SSBs from network devices using beams in different directions at different times. Based on the received signal strength, the terminal device determines the optimal beam for base station transmission and for terminal device reception. The beam used for base station transmission is referred to as the base station beam, and the beam used for terminal device reception is referred to as the terminal beam.

[0218] Specifically, the base station beam includes Terminal beam includes As shown in Figure 5b, the base station sends SSB resource configuration information and reports resource configuration information to the terminal device. The base station beam includes beams B0 to B15, that is, M=5. The terminal beam includes beams U0 to U3, that is, N=4. The base station uses beam B0 to send SSB to the terminal device through the corresponding SSB resource, uses beam B1 to send SSB to the terminal device, and so on, uses beam B5 to send SSB to the terminal device. The terminal device measures the SSBs sent by the base station through beams B0 to B5 respectively through beams U0 to U3, and obtains measurement results. The terminal device can determine the base station beam with better or best signal quality based on the measurement results. The terminal device feeds back the base station beam with better or best signal quality to the network device. It should be noted that in stage 1, both the base station beam and the terminal beam can be understood as wide beams.

[0219] Phase 2: Base station beam fine-tuning.

[0220] The base station determines multiple first candidate beams based on the base station beam with better or best signal quality determined in stage one, and each first candidate beam is a narrow beam. Specifically, as shown in Figure 6a, the multiple first candidate beams include beams S0 to beams S2. For example, the above stage one determines beam B3, which is a wide beam, and the base station determines beams S0 to beam S2 through beam B3. The terminal device determines that the optimal terminal beam is beam U1 through the above stage one. As shown in Figure 6b, the base station sends CSI-RS configuration information to the terminal device. The network device uses beam S0 to send CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource, uses beam S1 to send CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource, and uses beam S2 to send CSI-RS to the terminal device through the corresponding CSI-RS resource. The terminal device receives the CSI-RS sent from the base station through different beams through beam U1 and obtains a measurement result. The terminal device can determine the candidate beam with better or best signal quality based on the measurement result. The terminal device feeds back the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality to the network device. For example, as shown in FIG7 , the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality is beam S1. The base station uses the first candidate beam with better or best signal quality as the beam for communication with the terminal device.

[0221] Phase 3: UE beam fine-tuning.

[0222] The base station uses beam S1 to transmit CSI-RS to the terminal device. The terminal device determines, through stage 1, that the optimal terminal beam is beam U1, which is a wide beam. The terminal device uses beam U1 to determine multiple second candidate beams, as shown in Figure 7. These multiple second candidate beams include beams P1 through P4. The terminal device receives the CSI-RS transmitted by the base station using beam S1 via beams P1 through P4 and obtains measurement results. Based on the measurement results, the terminal device selects a beam from beams P1 through P4 and uses this beam as the beam for communicating with the network device.

[0223] The network device can configure the terminal device to report measurement results in one of the following three ways: periodic reporting, semi-persistent reporting, and aperiodic reporting. Semi-persistent reporting is also called semi-static reporting.

[0224] Periodic reporting: The network device sends reference signal resource configuration information to the terminal device. The reference signal resource configuration information includes periodic reference signal resources. The network device configures the terminal device's periodic measurement reference signal. The terminal device can periodically measure the reference signal based on the reference signal resource configuration information and periodically report the measurement results. Optionally, the measurement results obtained for the terminal device's periodic measurement reference signal can be carried on the PUCCH resources.

[0225] Semi-continuous reporting: The terminal device periodically measures the reference signal, but reports the measurement results in a semi-continuous reporting manner. In one possible implementation, the network device sends reference signal resource configuration information to the terminal device. The reference signal resource configuration information includes periodic reference signal resources. The network device configures the terminal device's periodic measurement reference signal. When the terminal device receives activation signaling from the network device (for example, a media access control control element or a media access control control element (MAC CE), or DCI), the terminal device can continuously report the measurement results. Of course, the network device can also send a deactivation instruction to the terminal device, thereby deactivating the semi-continuous reporting process of the terminal device. In another possible implementation, the measurement of the reference signal and the reporting of the measurement results are semi-continuous. When the terminal device receives the activation signaling from the network device, the terminal device continuously measures the reference signal and reports the measurement results. When the terminal device receives the deactivation instruction from the network device, the terminal device stops reporting the measurement results. In addition, the measurement results can be carried on PUCCH resources or PUSCH resources.

[0226] Aperiodic reporting: When a terminal device receives a trigger command from a network device, it measures the reference signal and reports the measurement results. After completing the reporting, the terminal device stops reporting the measurement results. Optionally, the reference signal can be a periodic reference signal, a semi-persistent reference signal, or an aperiodic reference signal. Optionally, the measurement results are carried on the PUSCH resource.

[0227] It can be seen that the measurement results are either reported periodically or an indication signaling is sent through the network device to trigger the terminal device to report semi-continuously or non-periodically. It can be seen that the reporting timing is entirely determined by the network device. In R19, the reporting of measurement results based on UE or event triggering is introduced. Either the terminal device informs the network device that the measurement results need to be reported, or an event occurs to trigger the terminal device to report the measurement results. In RAN19, several alternative solutions are proposed for what resources the measurement results reported by the terminal device based on UE or event triggering should be carried on, including: UE applies for reporting resources to report the measurement results through reporting resources; UE indicates that measurement results need to be reported; network equipment pre-configured resources, and the pre-configured resources are used to report measurement results.

[0228] Because network devices don't know when a terminal device triggers measurement result reporting, or when an event occurs, they can't send timely signaling to trigger the terminal device to report its measurements. Because event-triggered measurement result reporting occurs sporadically, if the terminal device reports measurement results using pre-configured resources, it will result in significant resource waste. However, if the terminal device requests reporting resources and the network device allocates them, the terminal device will report its measurement results using these resources, resulting in significant reporting delays.

[0229] The present application provides a corresponding technical solution, and the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle. The first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred. The reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report whether an event has occurred. Then, the terminal device determines the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle based on the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle. The terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle. The reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle is the reporting resource opportunity in the reporting resource of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred. Thereby, the terminal device can quickly determine the reporting resource opportunity for reporting the measurement result information and reduce the delay in reporting the measurement result information. For details, please refer to the relevant introduction of the embodiments below.

[0230] In this application, the terms beam, TCI state, CSI-RS resource, SSB resource, SRS resource, and reference signal can be used interchangeably. Reporting indication resources can be replaced by PUCCH indication resources, PUSCH indication resources, scheduling request resources, pre-indication resources, pre-notification resources, event-triggered reporting scheduling request resources, or UE-triggered reporting scheduling request resources. Reporting resources can be replaced by PUCCH resources, PUSCH resources, event-triggered reporting resources, or UE-triggered reporting resources. Reporting indication resource timing can be replaced by PUCCH indication resource timing, PUSCH indication resource timing, scheduling request resource timing, pre-indication resource timing, pre-notification resource timing, event-triggered reporting scheduling request resource timing, or UE-triggered reporting scheduling request resource timing, and reporting resource timing can be replaced by PUCCH resource timing, PUSCH resource timing, event-triggered reporting resource timing, or UE-triggered reporting resource timing.

[0231] Optionally, this application is applicable to scenarios where the user moves, for example, scenarios where the user rotates, or scenarios where the user is riding a high-speed train or an airplane.

[0232] In the present application, an event represents an event related to a report initiated by a terminal device (UE initiated report), or an event related to a measurement result information report initiated by a terminal device, or an event related to a report (or measurement result information) after the terminal device actively measures, or a specific condition related to a measurement result information report initiated by a terminal device. For example, the terminal device can actively perform measurement (such as beam measurement, or channel measurement, etc.), and thereby obtain measurement result information related to the event. For another example, the terminal device can perform measurement based on a reference signal according to the configuration of a reference signal resource, and thereby obtain measurement result information related to the event. For another example, the terminal device actively measures and reports measurement result information related to the event when a specific condition is met. Among them, the event can also be referred to as any of the following: a trigger event, a layer 1 (layer 1, L1) trigger event, a channel state information (channel state information, CSI) measurement report trigger event, a beam measurement report trigger event, an L1CSI report trigger event, an L1 beam measurement report trigger event, etc., and the embodiments of the present application are not limited to their naming.

[0233] The technical solution of this application is introduced below in conjunction with specific embodiments.

[0234] FIG8 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of the information sending method and information receiving method of the present application. Referring to FIG8 , the method includes:

[0235] 801. The terminal device sends first indication information to the network device through a reporting indication resource opportunity in a first cycle. Correspondingly, the network device receives the first indication information.

[0236] The reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device. The reporting indication resource is a periodic resource, and the reporting indication resource includes the reporting indication resource opportunities on multiple cycles. The reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle can be the reporting indication resource opportunity on one or more cycles in the reporting indication resource. In other words, the first cycle is a cycle of the reporting indication resource. For example, as shown in Figure 9, the reporting indication resource includes the reporting indication resource opportunities on multiple cycles, and the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle can be the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. The terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. Accordingly, the network device receives the first indication information from the terminal device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. It should be understood that the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle can also be referred to as the reporting indication resource opportunity within the first time interval, or as the reporting indication resource opportunity within the second time length, which is not limited in this application.

[0237] The following describes two possible implementations of the first indication information. This application is still applicable to other implementations and does not limit them.

[0238] Implementation method one: The first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred; or, the first indication information is used to indicate that the terminal device needs to report measurement result information; or, the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported; or, the first indication information is used to indicate that the reporting resource opportunity associated with the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period carries measurement result information; or, the first indication information is used to indicate that the measurement result information corresponding to the event has occurred needs to be reported.

[0239] In this implementation, when an event occurs, the terminal device may indicate to the network device that an event has occurred through first indication information, without distinguishing the type of event. In this implementation, the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred; or, the reporting resource is used to report an indication of whether the terminal device needs to report measurement result information; or, the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether measurement result information needs to be reported.

[0240] Implementation method 2: The first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of at least one first event, or the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of at least one first event. Optionally, the first indication information includes an identifier or index of the at least one first event, and / or information about whether the at least one first event has occurred.

[0241] The at least one first event is an event of a certain type. That is, in this implementation, when an event of a certain type occurs, the terminal device may indicate to the network device, via first indication information, that the event has occurred or whether the event has occurred. In this implementation, the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether the at least one first event has occurred; alternatively, the reporting indication resource is used to report information about the occurrence of the at least one first event.

[0242] In one possible implementation, the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of at least one first event but there is no need to report measurement result information. Optionally, the first indication information includes at least one of the following: an identifier or index of the at least one first event, and / or information about whether the at least one first event has occurred, an indication that no corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported for the at least one first event, information that no reporting amount is associated with the reporting configuration associated with the at least one first event or indicates that there is no reporting amount, or information that indicates that there is no need to report measurement result information in the reporting configuration associated with the at least one first event.

[0243] 802. The terminal device determines a resource reporting timing in a second period according to a resource reporting indication timing in a first period.

[0244] The reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle is the reporting resource opportunity in the reporting resource of the terminal device. The reporting resource is a periodic resource, and the reporting resource includes the reporting resource opportunities on multiple cycles. The reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle can be the reporting resource opportunity on one or more cycles in the reporting resource. For example, as shown in Figure 9, the reporting resource includes the reporting resource opportunities on multiple cycles, and the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle can be the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3. It should be understood that the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle can also be called the reporting resource opportunity within the second time interval, or the reporting resource opportunity within the third time length, which is not limited in this application.

[0245] The following describes two possible implementation methods for reporting resources. This application is still applicable to other implementation methods and does not limit them specifically.

[0246] Implementation method 1: The reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that occurred.

[0247] In this implementation, for the measurement result information corresponding to the event that occurred, the terminal device can report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that occurred through the reporting resource, without distinguishing the type of the event that occurred.

[0248] Implementation method two: the reporting resource is used to report measurement result information corresponding to the occurrence of at least one first event.

[0249] In this implementation, for measurement result information corresponding to an event that occurred, the terminal device may report measurement result information corresponding to at least one first event that occurred through the reporting resource. That is, the reporting resource is used to report measurement result information corresponding to certain types of events that occurred. For measurement result information corresponding to other types of events, the terminal device may report through other reporting resources.

[0250] For the relationship between the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first cycle and the reporting resource opportunity in the second cycle, please refer to the relevant introduction in step 803.

[0251] 803. The terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event to the network device through a reporting resource opportunity in the second cycle. Correspondingly, the network device receives measurement result information corresponding to at least one event from the terminal device.

[0252] It should be noted that the above step 803 is introduced by taking the example that the first indication information in the above step 801 is used to indicate that an event has occurred, or is used to indicate that the measurement result information corresponding to the occurrence of an event needs to be reported, or is used to indicate that the terminal device needs to report the measurement result information. Optionally, if the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of at least one first event, or is used to indicate the occurrence of at least one first event, and the at least one first event occurs, the above step 803 is replaced by: the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to the at least one first event that has occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity in the second period.

[0253] Optionally, the at least one event or the at least one first event includes at least one of the following:

[0254] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than a first threshold;

[0255] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than or equal to the first threshold;

[0256] The signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than a second threshold;

[0257] The signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than or equal to a second threshold;

[0258] The difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the current serving beam is greater than a third threshold;

[0259] The difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the current serving beam is greater than or equal to a third threshold;

[0260] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than the fourth threshold, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than the fifth threshold;

[0261] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than or equal to the fourth threshold, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than the fifth threshold;

[0262] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than a fourth threshold, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than or equal to a fifth threshold;

[0263] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than or equal to a fourth threshold, and the signal quality of at least one new beam is greater than or equal to a fifth threshold;

[0264] The absolute value of the difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the current serving beam is less than a sixth threshold;

[0265] The absolute value of the difference between the signal quality of at least one new beam and the signal quality of the current serving beam is less than or equal to a sixth threshold;

[0266] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than a seventh preset beam quality threshold of the preset beam. For example, the current serving beam is a CSI-RS with a QCL type of type D in the currently indicated TCI-state, and the preset beam is an SSB with a QCL type of type D satisfied by the CSI-RS.

[0267] The signal quality of the current serving beam is less than or equal to a seventh preset beam quality threshold of the preset beam.

[0268] The units corresponding to the first threshold, the second threshold, the third threshold, the fourth threshold, the fifth threshold and the sixth threshold may be dBm (decibel milliwatt) or dB (decibel).

[0269] Optionally, the first threshold is -100dBm (decibel milliwatt), the second threshold is -90dBm, the third threshold is 10dB, the fourth threshold is -100dBm, the fifth threshold is -90dBm, and the sixth threshold is 4dB.

[0270] Optionally, the current service beam may include one or more beams. It should be understood that the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurs is the measurement result information associated with at least one event that occurs. The measurement result information can be referred to as a measurement result report, an event-triggered or UE-initiated measurement result report, an event-triggered or UE-initiated CSI report, a CSI report, an event-triggered or UE-initiated beam measurement result report, a beam measurement result report, an event-triggered or UE-initiated interference measurement report, or an interference measurement report, without limitation. As an example, event triggering or event occurrence can also be referred to as UE triggering, or UE initiated (UE initiated), etc.

[0271] As an example, the measurement result information may include at least one or more of the following: reference signal receiving power (RSRP), signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR), precoding matrix indicator (PMI), rank indication (RI), channel quality indicator (CQI), whether the beam is available, whether the uplink transmission timing needs to be adjusted, whether the downlink reception timing change exceeds the threshold, the resource identifier used to obtain the measurement result or the logical identifier of the antenna panel (such as the capability value identifier), the cause of the event (for example, a change in the receiving beam, a change in the transmitting beam, a change in the receiving and transmitting beam, and others), and event information (for example, an index of the event that occurred, or whether at least one event occurred).

[0272] For example, the at least one event includes that the difference between the signal quality of the new beam and the signal quality of the current serving beam is greater than a third threshold. The measurement result information associated with the at least one event may include one or more of the current serving beam index, the signal quality of the current serving beam, the new beam index, the signal quality of the new beam, and event information. The current serving beam index and the new beam index can both be reference signal resource (e.g., CSI-RS, SSB, SRS) indexes, and the signal quality can be RSRP or SINR, etc. Optionally, the measurement result information associated with the at least one event also includes an identifier or index of the at least one event.

[0273] For another example, the at least one event includes that the signal quality of the current service beam of the terminal device is less than a first threshold. The at least one event is not associated with any measurement result and does not need to be reported.

[0274] Optionally, the measurement result information corresponding to the at least one event includes at least one of the following:

[0275] 1. The current service beam index can also be understood as the reference signal resource index whose QCL type is typeD in the currently indicated TCI state; or, the reference signal resource index whose QCL type is typeD in the uplink TCI state (UL TCI-state) applied for the current uplink transmission (for example, PUSCH transmission, PUCCH transmission, SRS transmission, and / or physical random access channel (PRACH) transmission); or, the reference signal resource index whose QCL type is typeD in the downlink / common TCI state (DL or joint TCI-state) applied for the current downlink transmission (for example, physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) transmission, PDSCH transmission, and / or CSI-RS transmission); or, the service beam index is the index of the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device, or, the service beam index is the index of the SSB resource corresponding to the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device for the terminal device. The SSB resource corresponding to the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device can be understood as: an SSB resource having a QCL relationship with the QCL resource. For example, the SSB resource is the source QCL resource in the QCL chain, and the source QCL resource is an SSB resource. The QCL chain is determined based on the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device. For example, the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device is a CSI-RS resource. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource is a tracking reference signal (TRS) resource. The TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the CSI-RS corresponding to the CSI-RS resource. The QCL resource in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource is an SSB resource. The TCI state corresponding to the TRS resource can be understood as the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS resource, or the TCI state adopted by the network device to send the TRS corresponding to the TRS resource. It can be seen that the QCL resources (such as CSI-RS resources) in the TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device, the QCL resources (such as TRS resources) in the TCI state corresponding to the CSI-RS resources, and the QCL resources (such as SSB resources) in the TCI state corresponding to the TRS resources constitute a QCL chain. The source QCL resource of the QCL chain is the SSB resource. That is, the SSB resource associated with the QCL resource in the TCI state indicated by the network device to the terminal device.

[0276] 2. The quality of the current serving beam, for example, the RSRP or SINR of the current serving beam.

[0277] Among them, the current service beam may include one beam or multiple beams, which is not limited in this application. The number of current service beams can be determined according to the number of uplink TCI states or downlink / common TCI states indicated by the network device, such as the uplink TCI state or downlink / common TCI state indicated by DCI signaling. Alternatively, the number of beams included in the current service beam may be predefined by the protocol or preconfigured by the network device. Alternatively, the maximum number of beams included in the current service beam may be predefined by the protocol or configured by the network device.

[0278] 3. The index of at least one new beam can also be understood as the reference signal resource index of the QCL type D in the activated TCI state (except the indicated TCI state), or it can be the index of one or more reference signals (except the reference signal corresponding to the current service beam) in the reference signal configured by the network device (such as the reference signal configured by the network device for measurement, and the reference signal configured by the network device for the terminal device to monitor the occurrence of events).

[0279] 4. Quality of at least one new beam, for example, RSRP or SINR of at least one new beam.

[0280] The at least one new beam may include one beam or multiple beams, which is not limited in this application. The number of beams included in the at least one new beam may be predefined by the protocol or preconfigured by the network device. Alternatively, the maximum number of beams included in the at least one new beam may be predefined by the protocol or configured by the network device.

[0281] 5. Cell information can also be understood as the cell to which the reported measurement result information corresponds, or the reference signal resource of the cell for which the reported measurement result information is measured. For example, the cell information can be a handover candidate cell identifier, a non-serving cell identifier, a component carrier (CC) index, or a PCI.

[0282] 6. The reason why the current serving beam quality is below a threshold (e.g., the first threshold). Examples include network device beam misalignment, terminal device receive beam misalignment, or transmit / receive beam misalignment. The term "misaligned" can also be replaced with "expired" or "invalid." Alternatively, the signal indicates whether to trigger CSI-RS set measurements with "repetition" set to "on" to poll the terminal device's receive beam.

[0283] 7. Reference signal resource set index, for example, a CSI-RS resource set (CSI-RS-ResourceSet) index, a CSI interference measurement (IM) resource set (CSI-IM-ResourceSet) index, a channel state information synchronization signal and PBCH block (CSI-SSB) resource set (CSI-SSB-ResourceSet) index, or a reference signal resource set index configured by a network device for a terminal device to monitor the occurrence of an event, used to indicate to which reference signal resource set the reported current serving beam and / or at least one new beam belongs.

[0284] 8. Report configuration index, such as CSI report configuration identifier (CSI-ReportConfigId), or event-triggered reporting configuration index.

[0285] 9. Event information, such as the index of the event that occurred, or one or more bits used to indicate whether the event occurred. For example, event information includes M bits, Used to indicate the index of an event that occurred. For another example, event information includes X bits, each of which corresponds to X events. The xth bit of the X bits is used to indicate whether the event corresponding to the xth bit has occurred, where x = 1, 2, ..., X. For example, if the value of the xth bit is "0", then the xth bit is used to indicate that the event corresponding to the xth bit has occurred. Alternatively, if the value of the xth bit is "1", then the xth bit is used to indicate that the event corresponding to the xth bit has occurred.

[0286] 10. Channel state information, for example, may include one or more of PMI, RI, CQI, and layer indication (LI).

[0287] The following introduces some possible implementations of the relationship between the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first cycle and the reporting resource opportunity in the second cycle.

[0288] Implementation method 1: The resource reporting opportunities in the second cycle are one or more resource reporting opportunities in the first cycle.

[0289] In one possible implementation, the period for reporting resources is the same as the period for reporting indication resources. The first period and the second period are the same period. The reporting indication resources and the reporting resources have the same starting time domain position in the same period. Optionally, in this application, the period and offset configured by the network device can be expressed as the number of time slots or the number of time domain symbols.

[0290] Optionally, the reported indication resource corresponds to a first offset, the reported resource corresponds to a second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than a threshold value, or the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value.

[0291] Optionally, the reporting indication resource is a periodic resource, and the reporting indication resource includes multiple reporting indication resource opportunities. As shown in FIG9 , the reporting indication resource includes multiple periodic reporting indication resource opportunities, and the time interval between reporting indication resource opportunities in different periods is the period size of the reporting indication resource. The first offset can be understood as the offset of the time domain position of the reporting indication resource opportunity in each period relative to the start time domain position of the period.

[0292] Optionally, the reported resource is a periodic resource, and the reported resource includes multiple resource reporting opportunities. As shown in Figure 9, the reported resource includes multiple periodic resource reporting opportunities, and the time interval between resource reporting opportunities in different periods is the period size of the reported resource. The second offset can be understood as the offset of the time domain position of the resource reporting opportunity in each period relative to the starting time domain position of the period.

[0293] Optionally, the threshold value may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the information carried on the first indication. Alternatively, the threshold value may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the information carried on the first indication and the time required for the terminal device to blindly detect the PDCCH.

[0294] Specifically, as shown in Figure 9, the terminal device sends first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity in cycle 3. The first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred. The terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity in cycle 3 (i.e., the reporting resource opportunity in cycle 3).

[0295] In this implementation, optionally, steps 801 to 803 may be replaced by any of the following descriptions:

[0296] Replacement description 1: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities located in the first cycle; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is a reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities located in the first cycle are reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0297] Replacement description two: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0298] Replacement description three: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to a first offset, the reporting resources correspond to a second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than a threshold value, the terminal device sends a first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0299] Replacement description four: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to a first offset, the reporting resources correspond to a second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends a first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities located in the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report whether there is an indication of an event occurring, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities located in the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0300] Replacement description five: If the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot. The first time slot and the second time slot are in the first cycle, and the first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device.

[0301] Replacement description six: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot. The first time slot and the second time slot are in the first period, and the first period is the period in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device.

[0302] Replacement description seven: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to the first offset, the reporting resources correspond to the second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot are in the first period, and the first period is the period in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device.

[0303] Replacement description eight: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to the first offset, the reporting resources correspond to the second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot are in the first period, and the first period is the period in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device.

[0304] Optionally, in the above replacement descriptions 4 to 8, the first time slot is The second time slot is and The following conditions are met:

[0305] Among them, n f Equal to the frame number of the first cycle, Indicates that when the configured subcarrier spacing (SCS) is 15·2 μ In kHz (kilohertz), the number of time slots per frame. μ can take values of 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4. offset1 is the first offset, for example, offset1 time slots, and offset2 is the second offset, for example, offset2 time slots. P is the period for reporting indication resources, which is also the period for reporting resources, for example, P time slots. X is the number of cycles corresponding to the first period. For example, as shown in Figure 9, the first period is period 3, so X is 3.

[0306] In another possible implementation, the period for reporting the indicated resources is M times the period for reporting the resources.

[0307] For example, as shown in Figure 13, the period for reporting indication resources is twice the period for reporting resources. The reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 2 in the reporting indication resource, and the reporting resource opportunity on the second period is the reporting resource opportunity on period C in the reporting resource. That is, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 2 in the reporting indication resource, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity on period C in the reporting resource. Optionally, the time interval between the reporting resource opportunity on period C and the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 2 is greater than a threshold value. Optionally, period C is: the first period for reporting resources in period 2 whose time interval with the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 2 is greater than a threshold value. For another example, as shown in Figure 14, the period for reporting indication resources is twice the period for reporting resources. The reporting indication resource opportunity in the first cycle is the reporting indication resource opportunity in cycle 2 in the reporting indication resource, and the reporting resource opportunity in the second cycle includes the reporting resource opportunity in cycle C and the reporting resource opportunity in cycle D in the reporting resource. The terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity in cycle 2 in the reporting indication resource, and the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity in cycle C and the reporting resource opportunity in cycle D in the reporting resource.

[0308] In this implementation, the above steps 801 to 803 can be replaced and described as: if the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot. The first time slot and the second time slot are in the first cycle, and the first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device.

[0309] Optionally, the first time slot is The second time slot is and The following conditions are met:

[0310] Formula (5) Formula (6) Where, n f Equal to the frame number of the first cycle, Indicates that when the configured subcarrier spacing SCS = 15·2 μWhen the frequency is kHz (kilohertz), the number of time slots contained in each frame. The value of μ can be 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4. P1 = M*P2, where M is a positive integer. P1 is the period for reporting indication resources, for example, P1 time slots. P2 is the period for reporting resources, for example, P2 time slots. Offset1 is the first offset, for example, offset1 time slots, and offset2 is the second offset, for example, offset2 time slots. X is the number of cycles corresponding to the first cycle. For example, as shown in Figure 13, the first cycle is cycle 3, that is, X is equal to 3.

[0311] In another possible implementation, the time interval between the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle and the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is greater than the time interval threshold; or, the time interval between the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle and the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is greater than or equal to the time interval threshold.

[0312] The reporting indication resource is a periodic resource, and the reporting resource is a periodic resource. Optionally, the period of the reporting indication resource is the same as the period of the reporting resource. Specifically, as shown in Figure 11, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 3 in the reporting indication resource, and the reporting resource opportunity on the second period is the reporting resource opportunity on period 3 in the reporting resource. The time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 3 and the reporting resource opportunity on period 3 is greater than the time interval threshold. The terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity on period 3. The terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity on period 3.

[0313] Optionally, the time interval threshold is specified by the communication protocol, or configured by the network device, or determined by the terminal device, and is not specifically limited in this application.

[0314] Optionally, the size of the time interval threshold may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the information carried on the first indication. Alternatively, the size of the time interval threshold may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the information carried on the first indication and the time required for the terminal device to blindly detect the PDCCH.

[0315] In this implementation, optionally, steps 801 to 803 may be replaced by any of the following descriptions:

[0316] Replacement description 1: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle is greater than the time interval threshold, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the second cycle; wherein, the one or more reporting resource opportunities on the second cycle are after the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and are the reporting resource opportunities closest to the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle.

[0317] Replacement description two: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and the reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle is greater than or equal to the time interval threshold, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the second cycle; wherein, the one or more reporting resource opportunities on the second cycle are after the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and are the reporting resource opportunities closest to the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle.

[0318] Implementation method 2: the resource reporting opportunity in the second cycle is the resource reporting opportunity in the cycle next to the first cycle.

[0319] In one possible implementation, the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources. The reporting indication resources and the reporting resources are at the same starting time domain position in the same period. Optionally, the reporting indication resources correspond to a first offset, the reporting resources correspond to a second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than or equal to the threshold value, or the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than the threshold value. For details about the first offset value, the second offset value and the threshold value, please refer to the aforementioned related introduction. Specifically, as shown in Figure 10, the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity in period 3 of the reporting indication resource. The first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred. The terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity in the next period of period 3 in the reporting resource (i.e., the reporting resource opportunity in period 4).

[0320] In this implementation, optionally, steps 801 to 803 may be replaced by any of the following descriptions:

[0321] Replacement description 1: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is a reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle are reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resource of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0322] Replacement description two: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next period of the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report an indication of whether an event has occurred, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next period of the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0323] Replacement description three: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to the first offset, the reporting resources correspond to the second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities in the next period of the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report whether there is an indication of an event occurring, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities in the next period of the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0324] Replacement description four: If the period of reporting resources is the same as the period of reporting indication resources, the reporting indication resources correspond to the first offset, the reporting resources correspond to the second offset, and the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities in the next period of the first period; wherein, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period is the reporting indication resource opportunity in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device, and the reporting indication resource is used to report whether there is an indication of an event occurring, and the one or more reporting resource opportunities in the next period of the first period are the reporting resource opportunities in the reporting resources of the terminal device, and the reporting resource is used to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event that has occurred.

[0325] In another possible implementation, the time interval between the resource reporting opportunity on the first cycle and the resource indication reporting opportunity on the first cycle is less than the time interval threshold; or, the time interval between the resource reporting opportunity on the first cycle and the resource indication reporting opportunity on the first cycle is less than or equal to the time interval threshold.

[0326] The reporting indication resource is a periodic resource, and the reporting resource is a periodic resource. In this implementation, optionally, the period of reporting the indication resource is the same as the period of reporting the resource. For the time interval threshold, please refer to the above-mentioned related introduction.

[0327] Specifically, as shown in Figure 12, the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3 in the reporting indication resource, and the reporting resource opportunity on the first cycle is the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3 in the reporting resource. The reporting resource opportunity on the second cycle is the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 4 in the reporting resource. The time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3 and the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3 is less than or equal to the time interval threshold. The terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. The terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 4.

[0328] In this implementation, optionally, steps 801 to 803 may be replaced by any of the following descriptions:

[0329] Replacement description one: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the time interval between the reporting resource opportunity on the first cycle and the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is less than or equal to the time interval threshold, then the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity on the next cycle of the first cycle; wherein, the reporting resource opportunity on the first cycle is a reporting resource opportunity that is after the reporting indication resource on the first cycle and is closest to the reporting indication resource on the first cycle.

[0330] Replacement description two: If the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, and the time interval between the reporting resource opportunity on the first cycle and the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle is less than the time interval threshold, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity on the next cycle of the first cycle; wherein, the reporting resource opportunity on the first cycle is the reporting resource opportunity after the reporting indication resource on the first cycle and closest to the reporting indication resource on the first cycle.

[0331] As can be seen from the above introduction, in a possible implementation method, the communication protocol stipulates or the network device is configured that: the period of reporting resources and the period of reporting indication resources are the same, the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than the threshold value, or the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value. If the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the first period (that is, through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the same period). In other words, if the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot are located in the first period, and the first period is the period in which the reporting indication resource opportunity for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device. The first time slot and the second time slot satisfy the above formulas (1) to (4). For example, as shown in Figure 9, when the period for reporting resources and the period for reporting indication resources are the same, the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than the threshold value, and the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity in period 3, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the reporting resource opportunity in period 3.

[0332] As can be seen from the above introduction, in another possible implementation, the communication protocol stipulates or the network device is configured that: the period for reporting resources and the period for reporting indication resources are the same, and the first offset and the second offset are not restricted. In this implementation, the terminal device can send the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred according to the following rules. If the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the first period. In other words, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the first period. In other words, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot are located in the first cycle, and the first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device is located. In other words, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is greater than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot and the second time slot are located in the first cycle, and the first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource timing for sending the first indication information in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device is located.

[0333] If the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle. Alternatively, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle. Alternatively, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through the second time slot, the first time slot is located in the first cycle, the second time slot is located in the next cycle of the first cycle, and the first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource opportunity for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device. In other words, if the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than or equal to the threshold value, the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the first time slot, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the second time slot. The first time slot is located in the first cycle, and the second time slot is located in the next cycle of the first cycle. The first cycle is the cycle in which the reporting indication resource for sending the first indication information is located in the reporting indication resource of the terminal device. The first time slot is The second time slot is P is the period for reporting resources and also the period for reporting indication resources. The first time slot can be determined according to the above formula (1). For example, as shown in FIG10 , when the period for reporting resources and the period for reporting indication resources are the same, the difference between the second offset and the first offset is less than the threshold value, and the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity in period 3, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event to the network device via the reporting resource opportunity in period 4 (i.e., the reporting resource opportunity in the next period after period 3).

[0334] Furthermore, the communication protocol stipulates that within the Δ1 time after the reporting indication resource opportunity of each period, the terminal device does not expect the network device to schedule other reporting transmissions on the reporting resource opportunity of the period, or the network device can only initiate uplink scheduling on the reporting resource opportunity of the period after the Δ1 time after the reporting indication resource opportunity of each period, or the network device avoids initiating uplink scheduling on the reporting resource opportunity of the period within the Δ1 time after the reporting indication resource opportunity of each period. The Δ1 time can be the time required for the network device to process the information carried by the first indication information, or the Δ1 time can be the time required for the network device to process the information carried by the first indication information plus the time required for the terminal device to blindly detect the PDCCH.

[0335] As can be seen from the above introduction, in another possible implementation method, the communication protocol stipulates or the network device configures: the minimum time interval between the terminal device reporting indication information and the terminal device reporting measurement result information, that is, the time interval threshold mentioned above. Optionally, for the time interval threshold, please refer to the relevant introduction above. If the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first cycle is less than the time interval threshold, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle. Alternatively, if the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first cycle is less than or equal to the time interval threshold, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the next cycle of the first cycle. Alternatively, if the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first cycle is greater than or equal to the time interval threshold, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the first cycle. Alternatively, if the terminal device sends the first indication information through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate the occurrence of an event, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle and one or more reporting resource opportunities located on the first cycle is greater than the time interval threshold, the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device through one or more reporting resource opportunities on the first cycle.

[0336] For example, as shown in Figure 11, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3 and the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3 is greater than the time interval threshold. The reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3 is the reporting resource opportunity that is after the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3 and is closest to the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. The terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device at the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3. The terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3. For another example, as shown in Figure 12, the time interval between the reporting indication resource opportunity on cycle 3 and the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 3 is less than or equal to the time interval threshold. The terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurred to the network device at the reporting resource opportunity on cycle 4.

[0337] 3. The resource reporting opportunity in the second cycle is the Nth resource reporting opportunity after the first duration after the resource indication reporting opportunity in the first cycle. N is an integer greater than or equal to 1.

[0338] Optionally, the resource reporting opportunity in the second cycle is the first resource reporting opportunity after the first time duration after the resource indication reporting opportunity in the first cycle.

[0339] Optionally, the period for reporting indicated resources is the same as the period for reporting resources.

[0340] Optionally, the first duration is specified by a communication protocol or configured by a network device, which is not specifically limited in this application. The first duration may also be referred to as an offset value X (OffsetX).

[0341] Specifically, the communication protocol stipulates or the network device configures an offset value X, and the terminal device sends the measurement result information at the first reporting resource opportunity after the offset value X has passed after the terminal device reports the first indication information.

[0342] Optionally, the first duration may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the first indication information. Alternatively, the first duration may be determined based on the time required for the network device to process the first indication information and the time required for the terminal device to blindly detect the PDCCH.

[0343] In one possible implementation, the communication protocol stipulates that within the first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information, the terminal device does not expect the network device to schedule other uplink transmissions, or the network device can only initiate uplink scheduling after the first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information, or the network device avoids initiating uplink scheduling within the first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information.

[0344] In another possible implementation, the communication protocol specifies a priority for uplink transmission. When, within a first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information, the network device initiates uplink scheduling within the first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information, and the resources occupied by the scheduled uplink transmission overlap with the first reporting resource opportunity after the first time period after the terminal device reports the first indication information, the terminal device prioritizes reporting measurement result information at the reporting resource opportunity.

[0345] Optionally, in this implementation, the above steps 801 to 803 are replaced by any of the following descriptions:

[0346] Replacement description 1: If the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the first reporting resource opportunity after the first time length after the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle.

[0347] Replacement description two: If the terminal device sends the first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle, and the first indication information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, then the terminal device sends the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the Nth reporting resource opportunity after the first time length after the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle.

[0348] Replacement description three: If the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device, and the first indication message is used to indicate that an event has occurred, the terminal device sends measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred to the network device through the first reporting resource opportunity after the first time length after the reporting indication resource opportunity for sending the first indication message.

[0349] Optionally, the first indication information is a first signal, or the first indication information is first bit information, and the first bit information includes at least one bit.

[0350] The following describes some possible implementations of the first indication information in conjunction with the type of reporting indication resource.

[0351] One: The reporting indication resource is a dedicated resource, for example, a dedicated scheduling request resource or a dedicated PUCCH resource, that is, the reporting indication resource is only used to carry the first indication information.

[0352] In one possible implementation, when the format of the reporting indication resource is PUCCH format 0, if an event occurs, or the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or an event occurs and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or at least one first event occurs, the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device. For example, the first indication message may be a Zadoff–Chu sequence with a cyclic shift of a specific value, wherein Zadoff and Chu are names of people, and the Zadoff–Chu sequence may also be referred to as a ZC sequence. Optionally, the specific value is 0. For another example, the first indication message may be a ZC sequence with a cyclic shift of different specific values, and different cyclic shifts indicate the occurrence of different events. For another example, the first indication message may be a ZC sequence with a cyclic shift of "specific value + initial cyclic shift value (initial cyclic shift)". The initial cyclic shift value may be predefined or configured by the network device, such as indicated to the terminal device through RRC signaling.

[0353] It should be noted that if no event occurs, or the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or at least one first event does not occur, the terminal device may not send any information during the reporting indication resource opportunity in the second period.

[0354] In a special case, if an event occurs but measurement result information does not need to be reported for the event, the terminal device can send the first indication information at the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period, but does not need to report the measurement result information.

[0355] In another possible implementation, when the format of the reporting indication resource is PUCCH format 1, PUCCH format 2, PUCCH format 3 or PUCCH format 4, if an event occurs, or the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or an event occurs and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or at least one first event occurs, the terminal device sends a first indication information to the network device. The first indication information can be a first bit information, and the first bit information is used to indicate that an event has occurred, or to indicate that the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or to indicate that an event has occurred and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or to indicate that at least one first event has occurred. The first bit information includes one bit. The value of this bit is 1.

[0356] It should be noted that if no event occurs, or the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or at least one first event does not occur, the terminal device sends the second bit information at the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first cycle. The second bit information is used to indicate that no event occurs, or to indicate that the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or to indicate that at least one first event does not occur. For example, the second bit information includes one bit, and the value of the bit is 0.

[0357] Second: the reporting indication resource is a common uplink resource, for example, a common scheduling request resource or a common PUCCH resource, that is, the reporting indication resource can carry both the first indication information and other information.

[0358] In one possible implementation, when the format of the reporting indication resource is PUCCH format 0, if an event occurs, or the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or an event occurs and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or at least one first event occurs, the terminal device can send a first indication message. The first indication information can be a sequence based on a cyclic shift other than a specific value, for example, the specific value is 0. For another example, the first indication information can be a sequence based on a cyclic shift other than certain specific values, for example, the certain specific values are 0, 3, 6, 9, and a sequence with a cyclic shift other than certain specific values indicates the occurrence of different events. For another example, the first indication information can be a ZC sequence with a cyclic shift value of "specific value + initial cyclic shift value". The initial cyclic shift value can be predefined or configured by a network device, such as indicated to the terminal device through RRC signaling.

[0359] It should be noted that if no event occurs, or the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or at least one first event does not occur, the terminal device can send a ZC sequence with a cyclic shift of 0 through the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period. The ZC sequence with a cyclic shift of 0 is used to indicate an uplink scheduling request. If the terminal device does not send any information during the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period, it indicates that there is no uplink scheduling request and there is no need to report measurement result information or no event occurs.

[0360] In another possible implementation, the format of the reporting indication resource is PUCCH format 1.

[0361] In this implementation, optionally, PUCCH format 1 carries one bit of information. If an event occurs, or the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or an event occurs and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or at least one first event occurs, the terminal device can send a first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period. The first indication information is a first bit information. The first bit information includes one bit, and the value of the bit is 1. It should be noted that if no event occurs, or the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or at least one first event does not occur, the terminal device can send a second bit of information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, and the second bit information includes one bit, and the value of the bit is 0. The second bit information is used to indicate an uplink scheduling request. If the terminal device does not send any information to the network device during the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first period, it indicates that there is no uplink scheduling request and there is no need to report the measurement result information.

[0362] In this implementation, optionally, PUCCH format 1 carries two bits of information. If an event occurs, or the terminal device needs to report measurement result information, or an event occurs and corresponding measurement result information needs to be reported, or at least one first event occurs, the terminal device can send a first indication information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period. The first indication information is a first bit information. The first bit information includes two bits, and the values of the two bits are 01. It should be noted that if no event occurs, or the terminal device does not need to report measurement result information, or at least one first event does not occur, the terminal device can send a second bit of information to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period. The second bit information includes two bits, and the values of the two bits are 00. If the terminal device does not send any information to the network device during the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period, it indicates that there is no uplink scheduling request and there is no need to report the measurement result information.

[0363] It should be noted that steps 802 to 803 in the above embodiment are optional steps, that is, the terminal device can indicate the occurrence of an event through the first indication information, but does not report the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that has occurred.

[0364] It should be noted that if the terminal device does not send indication information at the reporting indication resource opportunity in the first period, or the terminal device sends indication information indicating that the measurement result information does not need to be reported, or the terminal device sends event information but the corresponding event does not need to report the measurement result information, then when the reporting resource is a PUCCH resource, the terminal device can send a hybrid automatic repeat request confirmation (hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgment, HARQ-ACK), CSI, and scheduling request (scheduling request, SR) information scheduled by the network device at the reporting resource opportunity in the second period; when the reporting resource is a PUSCH resource, the terminal device can send HARQ-ACK and CSI information scheduled by the network device at the reporting resource opportunity in the second period, or the terminal device can perform any PUSCH transmission scheduled by the network device or exempted from authorization at the reporting resource opportunity in the second period. It can be seen from this that for pre-configured reporting resources, the terminal device can perform other transmissions, thereby avoiding resource waste and improving resource utilization.

[0365] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 800. Step 800 may be performed before step 801.

[0366] 800. The terminal device sends capability information to the network device. Correspondingly, the network device receives the capability information from the terminal device.

[0367] Optionally, the capability information includes at least one of the following: whether the terminal device supports the ability to report measurement result information based on event occurrence; or the minimum event-triggered measurement result reporting period supported by the terminal device. The terminal device can support reporting of measurement result information that is greater than or equal to the minimum event-triggered measurement result reporting period.

[0368] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 801a. Step 801a may be performed before step 801.

[0369] 801a. The network device sends first configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the first configuration information from the network device.

[0370] The first configuration information is used to configure reporting indication resources.

[0371] Optionally, the first configuration information includes at least one of the following: a period of the reporting indication resource, an offset value, an index of a reporting resource associated with the reporting indication resource, an index of a reporting configuration associated with the reporting indication resource, an index of at least one reference signal resource associated with the reporting indication resource or an index of at least one reference signal resource set, or a type of the reporting indication resource. The type of the reporting indication resource is a dedicated scheduling request resource, i.e., used only for sending the first indication information, or a common scheduling request resource, i.e., used for both sending the first indication information and sending an uplink scheduling request.

[0372] Optionally, the first configuration information further includes: an association relationship between a reporting indication resource and an event. A reporting indication resource may be associated with at least one event, that is, one reporting indication resource may be associated with different events. Alternatively, one reporting indication resource may be associated with only one event.

[0373] The period for reporting indication resources is used to indicate the time interval for reporting indication information by the terminal device. The offset value for reporting indication resources refers to the offset value of the timing for reporting indication resources in a period relative to the starting time domain position of the period. Typically, the offset value for reporting indication resources is less than or equal to the period for reporting indication resources. For example, the offset value for reporting indication resources can be x time domain symbols, y time slots, z subframes, or z frames, where x, y, and z are integers greater than 0.

[0374] The first configuration information includes an index of a reporting resource associated with the reporting indication resource. This allows the reporting indication resource to be associated with the reporting resource. The terminal device can use the reporting indication resource to indicate the occurrence of an event or to indicate measurement result information corresponding to an event that needs to be reported, and then use the reporting resource to report the measurement result information corresponding to the event. In practical applications, the network device can also configure the reporting indication resource to be associated with the reporting resource using independent configuration information, which is not limited in this application.

[0375] The first configuration information includes an index of a reporting configuration associated with a reporting indication resource. This allows the reporting indication resource to be associated with the reporting configuration. The terminal device reports measurement result information on the reporting resource associated with the reporting indication resource using the reporting configuration. In practical applications, the network device may also configure the reporting indication resource to be associated with the reporting configuration using independent configuration information, which is not specifically limited in this application.

[0376] The first configuration information includes an index of at least one reference signal resource or an index of at least one reference signal resource set associated with the reporting indication resource. The at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set is used to measure and obtain measurement result information corresponding to at least one event. The terminal device can indicate whether the at least one event occurs by reporting the indication resource, thereby realizing the association of the reporting indication resource with the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set. In actual applications, the network device can also configure the reporting indication resource to be associated with the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set through independent configuration information, which is not limited in this application.

[0377] Optionally, the reporting indication resource may carry UCI signaling, MAC CE signaling, or RRC signaling, which is not specifically limited in this application. Optionally, the first configuration information is carried in RRC signaling.

[0378] Optionally, if the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 800, there is no fixed order for executing step 800 and step 801a. Step 800 may be executed first, followed by step 801a; or step 801a may be executed first, followed by step 800; or, depending on the circumstances, step 800 and step 801a may be executed simultaneously, which is not limited in this application.

[0379] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 801b. Step 801b may be performed before step 801.

[0380] 801b: The network device sends the second configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the second configuration information from the network device.

[0381] The second configuration information is used to configure reporting resources.

[0382] Optionally, the second configuration information includes at least one of the following: a reporting resource period, an offset value, an index of a reporting indication resource associated with the reporting resource, an index of a reporting configuration associated with the reporting resource, or an index of at least one reference signal resource associated with the reporting resource or an index of at least one reference signal resource set. The reporting resource can be used only to carry event-triggered measurement result reporting (i.e., a dedicated resource), or can be used to carry other reports or content (non-dedicated resources).

[0383] The reporting resource period is used to indicate the time interval at which the terminal device reports measurement result information. The offset value of the reporting resource refers to the offset value of the reporting resource opportunity in a period relative to the starting time domain position of the period. Typically, the offset value of the reporting resource is less than or equal to the reporting resource period. For example, the offset value of the reporting resource can be x time domain symbols, y time slots, z subframes, or z frames.

[0384] The second configuration information includes an index of a reporting configuration associated with the reporting resource. This allows the reporting resource to be associated with the reporting configuration. The terminal device can report measurement result information corresponding to at least one event occurring on the reporting resource using the reporting configuration. In practical applications, the network device can also configure the reporting resource to be associated with the reporting configuration using independent configuration information, which is not specifically limited in this application.

[0385] The second configuration information includes an index of at least one reference signal resource or an index of at least one reference signal resource set associated with the reporting resource. The at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set is used to measure and obtain measurement result information corresponding to at least one event. The terminal device can send the measurement result information corresponding to at least one event that occurs through the reporting resource, thereby realizing the association of the reporting resource with the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set. In actual applications, the network device can also configure the reporting resource to be associated with the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set through independent configuration information, which is not limited in this application.

[0386] Optionally, the second configuration information further includes: an association between a reporting resource and an event. A reporting resource can be associated with at least one event, that is, one reporting resource can be associated with different events. Alternatively, one reporting resource can be associated with only one event.

[0387] Optionally, the reporting resource is a PUCCH resource or a PUSCH resource. Optionally, the reporting resource is a physical uplink control channel-channel state information (PUCCH-CSI) resource, that is, a PUCCH resource used for CSI reporting. Optionally, the reporting resource can carry UCI signaling, MAC CE signaling, or RRC signaling, which is not specifically limited in this application. Optionally, the second configuration information is carried in the RRC signaling.

[0388] Optionally, if the embodiment shown in Figure 8 also includes step 801a, there is no fixed execution order between step 801a and step 801b. Step 801a may be executed first, and then step 801b; or, step 801b may be executed first, and then step 801a; or, steps 801a to 801b may be executed simultaneously depending on the circumstances, and this application does not limit this. If the embodiment shown in Figure 8 also includes step 800, there is no fixed execution order between step 800 and step 801b. Step 800 may be executed first, and then step 801b; or, step 801b may be executed first, and then step 800; or, steps 800 and 801b may be executed simultaneously depending on the circumstances, and this application does not limit this.

[0389] It should be noted that the above steps 801a and 801b are described as an example of an implementation method in which the network device configures the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource for the terminal device using different configuration information. In actual applications, the network device can configure the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource for the terminal device using the same configuration information, and this application does not limit this.

[0390] Optionally, the reporting indication resource and the reporting resource satisfy at least one of the following:

[0391] 1. The period for reporting indicated resources is the same as the period for reporting resources;

[0392] 2. The period for reporting indication resources and the period for reporting resources must both be greater than one time slot;

[0393] 3. The reported indication resource corresponds to the first offset value (offset1), and the reported resource corresponds to the second offset value (offset2); the difference between the second offset value and the first offset value is greater than or equal to the threshold value. For the size of the threshold value, please refer to the relevant introduction above.

[0394] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 801c. Step 801c may be performed before step 801.

[0395] 801c: The network device sends third configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the third configuration information from the network device.

[0396] The third configuration information is used to configure the association between the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource. Optionally, the third configuration information is carried in RRC signaling.

[0397] Optionally, if the embodiment shown in Figure 8 further includes step 801a and step 801b, there is no fixed execution order between step 801a, step 801b, and step 801c. For example, step 801a may be executed first, then step 801b, and finally step 801c; or, step 801b may be executed first, then step 801a, and finally step 801c; or, step 801c may be executed first, then step 801a, and finally step 801b; or, step 801c may be executed first, then step 801b, and finally step 801a; or, step 801a, step 801b, and step 801c may be executed simultaneously depending on the circumstances, and this application does not limit this. Optionally, if the embodiment shown in Figure 8 further includes step 800, there is no fixed execution order between step 800 and step 801c. Step 800 may be performed first, and then step 801c; or, step 801c may be performed first, and then step 800; or, step 800 and step 801c may be performed simultaneously depending on the circumstances, which is not specifically limited in this application.

[0398] Step 801c described above is one possible implementation. In actual applications, other implementations can also be used to configure the association between the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource. For example, the first configuration information in step 801a described above and the second configuration information in step 801b described above are the same configuration information. In other words, the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource are configured for the same resource, but correspond to different offset values. In other words, a network device can configure a resource using a single configuration information, where the resource includes a period and two offset values. This will thereby configure the association between the reporting resource and the reporting indication resource.

[0399] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes steps 801d to 801e. Steps 801d to 801e may be performed before step 801.

[0400] 801d: The network device sends the fourth configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the fourth configuration information from the network device.

[0401] The fourth configuration information is used to configure at least one reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource set. Optionally, each reference signal resource set in the at least one reference signal resource set includes one or more reference signal resources. Optionally, the fourth configuration information is carried in RRC signaling.

[0402] 801e. The terminal device measures at least one reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource to obtain measurement result information corresponding to at least one event.

[0403] The at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set is used to monitor whether an event occurs. That is, the measurement result information corresponding to the at least one event that occurs is the measurement result information obtained by the terminal device measuring the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource.

[0404] Optionally, the reference signal resource may be a reference signal resource of a serving cell, or may be a reference signal resource corresponding to a candidate cell or a non-serving cell.

[0405] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 801d-1, and step 801d-1 may be performed before step 801e.

[0406] 801d-1. The network device sends an activation signaling to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the activation signaling from the network device.

[0407] The activation signaling is used to activate at least one configured reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource set. Optionally, the activation signaling is carried in MAC CE or DCI signaling.

[0408] It should be noted that the above step 801d is only an example of a possible implementation method. In actual applications, the communication protocol may specify the at least one reference signal resource or the at least one reference signal resource set. Optionally, the at least one reference signal resource includes at least one of the following: a reference signal resource corresponding to the current service beam, or one or more reference signal resources corresponding to one or more currently activated TCI state types of quasi-parity type D (QCL type D), or one or more reference signal resources corresponding to one or more configured TCI state types of quasi-parity type D (QCL type D). The reference signal resource corresponding to the current service beam may be a reference signal resource of QCL type D in the currently indicated TCI state, or a reference signal resource of QCL type D in the downlink / common TCI state (DL or joint TCI state) used for the current downlink transmission and the uplink TCI state (UL TCI state) used for the uplink transmission. Optionally, the reference signal resource may be a reference signal resource of the serving cell or a reference signal resource of the candidate cell.

[0409] It should be noted that there is no fixed order for executing steps 801d to 801e and steps 800 and 801a to 801c. For example, steps 801d to 801e may be executed first, followed by steps 800 and 801a to 801c; or steps 800 and 801a to 801c may be executed first, followed by steps 801d to 801e; or, depending on the circumstances, steps 801d to 801e may be executed simultaneously with steps 800 and 801a to 801c. This application does not impose any specific restrictions.

[0410] Optionally, the embodiment shown in FIG8 further includes step 801f, and step 801f can be performed before step 801.

[0411] 801f. The network device sends the fifth configuration information to the terminal device. Correspondingly, the terminal device receives the fifth configuration information from the network device.

[0412] The fifth configuration information is used to configure at least one reporting configuration, and the at least one reporting configuration is used to configure measurement result information corresponding to the event that occurs.

[0413] Optionally, the fifth configuration information includes at least one of the following: a reporting amount, second indication information, an identifier of at least one event, an index of a reporting indication resource, an index of a reporting resource, or at least one reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource set associated with at least one reporting configuration. The second indication information is used to indicate that the at least one reporting configuration is used to report measurement result information corresponding to the at least one event. Optionally, different events may also correspond to different reporting configurations. For example, the fifth configuration information includes reporting configurations corresponding to each event in the at least one event. Optionally, the communication protocol may specify reporting amounts corresponding to different events. Of course, the communication protocol may also specify that the occurrence of certain events does not require any content to be reported.

[0414] Optionally, the fifth configuration information includes at least one reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource set associated with at least one reporting configuration. This enables the terminal device to send measurement result information obtained by the terminal device measuring at least one reference signal resource or at least one reference signal resource set to the network device through the at least one reporting configuration.

[0415] It should be noted that there is no fixed order for executing step 801f, step 800, and steps 801a through 801e. For example, step 801f may be executed first, followed by steps 800 and 801a through 801e; or, step 800 and steps 801a through 801e may be executed first, followed by step 801f; or, depending on the circumstances, step 801f may be executed simultaneously with steps 800 and 801a through 801e. This application does not impose any specific restrictions.

[0416] In an embodiment of the present application, the terminal device sends a first indication message to the network device through the reporting indication resource opportunity on the first cycle. This enables the terminal device to quickly determine the reporting resource opportunity for reporting the measurement result information, thereby reducing the delay in reporting the measurement result information.
