A modular security pedestal system comprising: a frame configured to be connected to a surface, wherein the frame comprises provisions for mounting at least one antenna for detection of a security tag or label; the frame including; a first side surface; a second side surface; a front surface; a back surface; a top surface, wherein the frame further comprises a plurality of engagement features for exchangeably mounting a first aesthetic panel to the first side surface, and a second aesthetic panel to the second side surface, wherein release of the plurality of engagement features allows for removal of at least one of the first aesthetic panel or the second aesthetic panel and replacement with a third aesthetic panel that is aesthetically different from at least one of the first aesthetic panel or the second aesthetic panel.

2. The modular security pedestal system of claim 1, wherein the frame comprises at least one cavity that extends from the first side surface of the frame to the second side surface of the frame.

3. The modular security pedestal system of claim 2, wherein the first aesthetic panel comprises an opaque portion and a transparent or semi-transparent portion, wherein the transparent or semi-transparent portion corresponds with the at least one cavity of the frame and allows for at least a partial view of the at least one cavity.

4. The modular security pedestal system of claim 2, wherein the first aesthetic panel comprises an opening surrounded by a surface, wherein the opening corresponds with the at least one cavity of the frame and allows for at least a partial view of the at least one cavity.

5. The modular security pedestal system of claim 1, further comprising a removable top mounted display portion, wherein the top mounted display portion is configured to lock to the top surface of the frame.

6. The modular security pedestal system of claim 5, wherein the top mounted display portion is at least partially transparent or semi-transparent.

7. The modular security pedestal system of claim 1, wherein the frame has installed therein at least one of a radio frequency identification (RFID) system or an acoustic-magnetic (AM) system for detection or communication with a security tag or label.

8. The modular security pedestal system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of engagement features comprise one or more magnets for providing magnetic attraction of the first side surface with the first aesthetic panel and the second side surface with the second aesthetic panel.

The modular security pedestal system of claim 1, wherein the plurality of engagement features comprise one or more rails connected to the frame and configured to engage with surfaces of the first aesthetic panel for mounting the first aesthetic panel to the first side surface and configured to engage with surfaces of the second aesthetic panel for mounting the second aesthetic panel to the second side surface.

10. A security pedestal comprising: a frame configured to be connected to a surface, wherein the frame comprises provisions for mounting at least one antenna for detection of a security tag or label; the frame including; a first side surface; a second side surface; a front surface; a back surface; a top surface, wherein the frame further comprises a plurality of engagement features for exchangeably mounting a first aesthetic panel to the first side surface, and a second aesthetic panel to the second side surface, wherein release of the plurality of engagement features allows for removal of at least one of the first aesthetic panel or the second aesthetic panel andreplacement with a third aesthetic panel that is aesthetically different from at least one of the first aesthetic panel or the second aesthetic panel.

11. The security pedestal of claim 10, wherein the frame comprises at least one cavity that extends from the first side surface of the frame to the second side surface of the frame.

12. The security pedestal of claim 10, further comprising an top engagement feature for removably mounting a top mounted display portion to the top surface of the frame.

13. The security pedestal of claim 10, wherein the frame has installed therein at least one of a radio frequency identification (RFID) system or an acoustic-magnetic (AM) system for detection or communication with a security tag or label.

14. The security pedestal of claim 10, wherein the plurality of engagement features comprise one or more magnets for providing magnetic attraction of the first side surface with the first aesthetic panel and the second side surface with the second aesthetic panel.
