[0008] EP2857437A1 describes a polyamide mixture which consists, up to at least 50%by weight, of a polyamide component which consists of a) 50 to 95 parts by weight of microcrystalline PA PACMX (with X=8 to 18) and also b) 50 to 5 parts by weight of a semi crystalline linear, aliphatic polyamide with on average 8 to 12 C atoms in the monomer units. The sum of the parts by weight being 100.

[0009] CN117430947A discloses a polyamide composite material with chemical resistance and low internal stress, characterized by comprising the following components in parts by weight:

[0010] 58-81 parts of             a transparent polyamide,

[0011] 19-41 parts of             a crystalline polyamide,

[0012] and 0.2-0.6 parts of        an amide exchange accelerator,

[0013] wherein the polymerizable monomer of the main chain of the transparent polyamide comprises a C12 monomer, and the C12 monomer is dodecanedioic acid or 12-aminododecanoic acid;

[0014] and the crystalline polyamide is at least one of PA612, PA1012, PA12 or PA1212, and has a fusion enthalpy Δ Hm ≥ 25 J / g during a second heating in DSC.

[0015] However, the initial haze and transparency of these chemical resistant polyamide composite materials cannot quite compete with the pure transparent polyamides. Chemical resistance is also limited even with large amount of crystalline polyamide and amide exchange accelerator.

[0016] Therefore, the development of novel polyamide compositions having high transparency, low haze and improved chemical resistance is still required.Summary of the invention

[0017] For this purpose, according to one object, the invention relates to the use of at least one linear aliphatic polyamide having an average of from 9 to 12 C atoms in the monomer units in a homogeneous amorphous composition comprising at least one cycloaliphatic polyamide based on a cycloaliphatic diamine having 10-20 carbon atoms and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid having 8-18 carbon atoms for improving chemical resistance of said composition. The cycloaliphatic polyamide is PACM (bis (4-aminocyclohexyl) methane)  / MACM (bis (4-amino-3-methylcyclohexyl) methane -based and is selected from the group consisting of PA MACM12 and PA PACM12. In addition, the trans, trans-isomer content of the PACM is from 5 to 30%by weight of total PACM. Moreover, in contrast to CN117430947A, the composition does not contain amide exchange accelerator.

[0023] b) 50 to 5 parts by weight of at least one linear aliphatic polyamide having an average of from 9 to 12 C atoms in the monomer units,

[0024] wherein the sum of the parts by weight of a) and b) is 100.

[0025] More preferably, in this use, the parts of component a) in the polyamide fraction is in the range of 60 to 95%by weight, relative to the total weight of the polyamide fraction, and the parts of component b) in the polyamide fraction is in the range of 5 to 40%by weight.

[0026] Particularly preferably, in this use, the parts of component a) in the polyamide fraction is in the range of 75 to 90%by weight, relative to the total weight of the polyamide fraction, and the parts of component b) in the polyamide fraction is in the range of 10 to 25%by weight.

[0027] Other advantages of the present invention would be apparent for a person skilled in the art upon reading the specification.Detailed description of the invention

[0032] b) 50 to 5 parts by weight, preferably from 40 to 5 parts by weight, particularly preferably from 25 to 10 parts, in another preferred embodiment from 45 to 20 parts, most preferably 45 to 10 parts, by weight of at least one linear aliphatic polyamide having an average of from 9 to 12 C atoms in the monomer units,

[0033] wherein the sum of the parts by weight of a) and b) is 100.

[0034] In an embodiment, the composition is in a form selected from the group consisting of a pellet mixture, a powder mixture and a blend.

[0035] In the pellet mixture, the components according to a) and b) , in each case in the form of pellets, are combined and are mechanically mixed –in the form of solids mixture. The pellets may additionally comprise other additives which are described in more detail below. The pellet mixture may be processed through melting, mixing and shaping to give a moulding. It is advisable here to mix the melt thoroughly, in order to obtain a homogeneous moulding. Suitable mixing assemblies include kneaders or extruders; the processing to give the moulding may take place through injection moulding, extrusion, compression processes or rolling.

[0036] In the powder mixture, the components a) and, respectively, b) , in each case in the form of powder, are combined and mechanically mixed. The powder here can also comprise, alongside the component according to a) and, respectively b) , other additions which are described in more detail below. The powder mixture can be processed through melting, mixing and shaping to give a moulding. Here again, it is advisable to mix the melt thoroughly, in order to obtain a homogeneous moulding.

[0037] The composition may moreover also be in the form of a blend produced through mixing in the melt, discharge and comminution. The term blend according to the present invention includes multiphase mixtures where the individual components are present in the form of domains, and also mixtures where the compatibility of the individual components is so high that these have become mixed on the molecular scale. Another term often used synonymously for such a blend is alloy. The mixing in the melt may be conducted in a kneading assembly as is conventionally known, the discharge generally takes place in the form of strand and the methods generally used for comminution include granulation, breaking or grinding. The blend according to the present invention may also comprise, in addition to the component according to a) and, respectively b) , other additions which are described in more detail below.

[0038] The cycloaliphatic polyamide is PACM / MACM-based. This means that the cycloaliphatic polyamide contains PACM or MACM or both.

[0039] Preferably, the cycloaliphatic polyamide is selected from the group consisting of:

[0086] **: E1 represents Example 1. Accordingly, E2 to E11 represents Example 2 to Example 11 respectively.

[0087] Haze and transparency:

[0088] Haze and transparency were measured according to the national standard GB / T 2410-2008 by a transmittance-haze tester on a 1 mm thick square plate.

[0089] Chemical resistance test:

[0090] Injection molded parts especially transparent parts such as lenses need to have resistance against common cleaning solutions which often contain ethanol. In order to ensure sufficient resistance to ethanol, the following test was performed.

[0091] The 1 mm thick square plate was immersed in an ethanol solution with a concentration of 99.6%, and left to stand for 1 h. Then, it was taken out, and tested by a transmittance-haze tester according to the national standard GB / T 2410-2008 to obtain the data of transmittance and haze.. The results are summarized in Table 2.

[0092] Table 2

[0093] Table 2

[0094] shows that the introduction of the linear aliphatic polyamide into the pure cycloaliphatic polyamide does not affect the initial haze and transparency. The inventive compositions according to examples E1-E11 also maintain the high transparency and low haze after being corroded by ethanol. Whereas the comparative examples C1 and C2 show much lower transparency and much higher haze after being corroded by ethanol compared with the initial values of haze and transparency. A comparison of examples E1 to E11 with the comparative examples C1 and C2 clearly shows that the introduction of the linear aliphatic polyamide into the pure cycloaliphatic polyamide leads to better chemical resistance. The very good chemical resistance can be achieved therefore only by the specific blend, according to the claim, of polyamides (a) and (b) . In DSC in examples E1 to E11, only one single Tg was observed, indicating that all inventive compositions are homogeneous amorphous.

[0095] Physical, thermal and mechanical properties of the compositions of examples (E1-E11) and the composition of comparative example (C1) were determined and are presented in table 3.

[0096] As used herein, terms such as “comprise (s) ” and the like as used herein are open terms meaning 'including at least' unless otherwise specifically noted.

[0097] Where a numerical limit or range is stated, the endpoints are included. Also, all values and subranges within a numerical limit or range are specifically included as if explicitly written out.
