Abstract
Description
Terminal and wireless communication method
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a terminal and a wireless communication method that supports SBFD.
[0002] The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP: registered trademark) is developing specifications for the 5th generation mobile communication system (5G, also known as New Radio (NR) or Next Generation (NG)), and is also developing specifications for the next generation, known as Beyond 5G, 5G Evolution, or 6G.
[0003] In 3GPP Release 19, an extension of the duplex method is being considered (Non-Patent Document 1). For example, with regard to Sub-Band non-overlapping Full Duplex (SBFD), a duplex method that enables simultaneous use of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) within a carrier of a time division duplex (TDD) band, it has been agreed to consider a method of indicating to a terminal (User Equipment, UE) the positions (time positions) of UL sub-bands and DL sub-bands (which may also be called SBFD sub-bands) in the time direction (e.g., symbols), beam (spatial relation) control applied to physical channels or reference signals (RS) assigned to SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols, and the like.
[0004] Furthermore, it has been agreed to consider supporting separate beam configurations for SBFD and non-SBFD symbols (Non-Patent Document 2).
[0005] In addition, 3GPP Release-17 specifies a method (Unified TCI state) for setting a single (common) Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state for multiple UL / DL channels (which may be read as radio signals) (Non-Patent Document 3).
[0006] “New WID: Evolution of NR duplex operation: Sub-band full duplex (SBFD)”, RP-234035, 3GPP TSG RAN Meeting #102, 3GPP, December 2023 “Draft Report of 3GPP TSG RAN WG1 #117 v0.2.0”, 3GPP, May 2024 “3GPP TS 38.213 V18.2.0”, 3GPP, March 2024
[0007] However, when the Unified TCI state is set and UL / DL beams are set separately for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols, the UE cannot determine the relationship between the Unified TCI state and the UL / DL beams, which results in a problem in which the TCI state cannot be used appropriately.
[0008] Therefore, the following disclosure has been made in consideration of this situation, and aims to provide a terminal and a wireless communication method that can appropriately use the TCI state even when a Unified TCI state is set and UL / DL beams are set separately for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols.
[0009] One aspect of the present disclosure is a terminal (UE200) including: a communication unit (radio signal transceiver unit 210) that transmits and receives radio signals via beams in accordance with a subband full-duplex communication method in which uplink subbands and downlink subbands are allocated non-overlapping in the frequency direction within a specified time period based on time division duplex; a receiving unit (control signal / reference signal processor unit 240) that receives control information indicating a single transmission setting instruction state for the radio signals; and a control unit (control unit 270) that selects, based on the control information, the transmission setting instruction state associated with a first time unit to which the subband full-duplex communication method is applied, and the transmission setting instruction state associated with a second time unit to which the subband full-duplex communication method is not applied.

[0011] Hereinafter, embodiments will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the same or similar reference numerals are used to designate the same functions or configurations, and descriptions thereof will be omitted as appropriate.
[0012] (1) Overall Schematic Configuration of Wireless Communication System Fig. 1 is an overall schematic configuration diagram of a wireless communication system 10 according to this embodiment. The wireless communication system 10 is a wireless communication system conforming to 5G New Radio (NR) and includes a Next Generation-Radio Access Network 20 (hereinafter, NG-RAN 20) and a terminal 200 (hereinafter, UE 200, User Equipment, UE). Note that the wireless communication system 10 may also be a wireless communication system conforming to a scheme called Beyond 5G, 5G Evolution, or 6G.
[0013] The NG-RAN 20 includes a radio base station 100 (hereinafter, gNB 100). Note that the specific configuration of the radio communication system 10, including the number of gNBs and UEs, is not limited to the example shown in FIG. 1 .
[0014] The NG-RAN 20 actually includes a plurality of NG-RAN nodes, specifically, gNBs (or ng-eNBs), and is connected to a 5G core network (5GC, not shown). The NG-RAN 20 and the 5GC may also be simply referred to as a "network."
[0015] The gNB 100 is a 5G-compliant radio base station that performs 5G-compliant radio communication with the UE 200. The gNB 100 and the UE 200 are capable of supporting Massive MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output), which generates a more directional antenna beam (hereinafter referred to as beam BM) by controlling radio signals transmitted from multiple antenna elements, Carrier Aggregation (CA), which aggregates multiple component carriers (CCs), and Dual Connectivity (DC), which simultaneously communicates between the UE and two NG-RAN nodes.
[0016] The type of DC may be Multi-RAT Dual Connectivity (MR-DC), which uses multiple radio access technologies, or NR-NR Dual Connectivity (NR-DC), which uses only NR. MR-DC may also be E-UTRA-NR Dual Connectivity (EN-DC), in which the eNB constitutes the master node (MN) and the gNB constitutes the secondary node (SN), or NR-E-UTRA Dual Connectivity (NE-DC), which is the reverse.
[0017] The gNB 100 can transmit multiple beams BM with different transmission directions (which may also be simply referred to as directions, or radiation directions, or coverages) in a space- and time-division manner. Note that the gNB 100 may transmit multiple beams BM simultaneously.
[0018] The wireless communication system 10 may also support multiple frequency ranges (FR). Specifically, the wireless communication system 10 may support the following frequency ranges:
[0019] ・FR1: 410 MHz to 7.125 GHz ・FR2-1: 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz FR1 may use a sub-carrier spacing (SCS) of 15, 30, or 60 kHz and a bandwidth (BW) of 5 to 100 MHz. FR2-1 is a higher frequency than FR1 and may use a sub-carrier spacing (SCS) of 60 or 120 kHz (including 240 kHz) and a bandwidth (BW) of 50 to 400 MHz.
[0020] Note that SCS may be interpreted as numerology, which is defined in 3GPP TS38.300 and corresponds to one subcarrier spacing in the frequency domain.
[0021] Furthermore, the wireless communication system 10 also supports a frequency band higher than the FR2-1 frequency band. Specifically, the wireless communication system 10 supports a frequency band exceeding 52.6 GHz up to 71 GHz. Such a high frequency band may be referred to as FR2-2.
[0022] When using bands above 52.6 GHz, Cyclic Prefix-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) / Discrete Fourier Transform - Spread (DFT-S-OFDM) with larger Sub-Carrier Spacing (SCS) may be applied.
[0023] Additionally, as mentioned above, in high frequency bands such as FR2-2, increased inter-carrier phase noise becomes an issue, which may necessitate the application of a larger (wider) SCS or a single-carrier waveform.
[0024] The larger the SCS, the shorter the symbol / cyclic prefix (CP) period and slot period (assuming a 14 symbol / slot configuration is maintained). Figure 2 shows an example of the configuration of radio frames, subframes, and slots used in the wireless communication system 10.
[0025] If the 14-symbol / slot configuration is maintained, the larger (wider) the SCS, the shorter the symbol period (and slot period). The time direction may be referred to as the time domain, symbol period, symbol length, or symbol time. The frequency direction may be referred to as the frequency domain, resource block, subcarrier, or BWP (Bandwidth part).
[0026] The frequency resources may include component carriers, subcarriers, resource blocks (RBs), resource block groups (RBGs), bandwidth parts (BWPs), etc. The time resources may include symbols, slots, minislots, subframes, radio frames, discontinuous reception (DRX) periods, etc.
[0027] The number of symbols constituting one slot does not necessarily have to be 14 (for example, 28 or 56 symbols). Also, the number of slots per subframe may differ depending on the SCS.
[0028] The wireless communication system 10 may use an SSB (SS / PBCH Block) that is configured from a synchronization signal (SS) and a downlink physical broadcast channel (PBCH).
[0029] SSBs are transmitted periodically from the network mainly to allow UE 200 to detect cell IDs and reception timings when starting communication. In NR, SSBs are also used to measure the reception quality of each cell. The SSB transmission periodicity may be specified as 5, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160 milliseconds, etc. Note that the initial access UE 200 may assume a transmission period of 20 milliseconds.
[0030] Furthermore, multiple duplexing methods may be used in the wireless communication system 10. Specifically, time division duplexing (TDD) and frequency division duplexing (FDD) may be used. The duplexing method may be interpreted as a method for realizing simultaneous transmission and reception (duplex communication) of downlink (DL) and uplink (UL).
[0031] Furthermore, the wireless communication system 10 may use another duplexing method that enables simultaneous use of DL and UL, specifically, XDD (Cross Division Duplex) / SBFD (Sub-Band non-overlapping Full Duplex).
[0032] Figure 3 shows an example of the configuration of TDD and XDD / SBFD. As shown in Figure 3, in TDD defined in 3GPP Releases 15 to 17, DL, UL, or F (flexible: can be set to DL or UL) can be set for each symbol and instructed to UE 200.
[0033] On the other hand, in XDD / SBFD, gNB100 can configure specific frequency resources (e.g., subbands) as DL and other frequency resources as UL at a specified time T, such as a symbol, and instruct UE200 accordingly.
[0034] XDD / SBFD allows simultaneous use of DL and UL within a carrier (CC) in the TDD band. Using the central portion of the frequency resources within the DL and UL carriers can avoid or mitigate potential cross-link interference (CLI) with adjacent carriers. XDD / SBFD may also be referred to as a type of full duplex, or FDD full duplex, or as sub-band (DL / UL) full duplex, as abbreviated as SBFD.
[0035] In SBFD, frequency resources for DL (DL band) and frequency resources for UL (UL band) are allocated in a non-overlapping manner to the same duplex band on the same time period.
[0036] Specifically, XDD / SBFD is a scheme in which DL bands and UL bands are allocated non-overlappingly in the frequency direction within a specified time T based on time division duplex. The DL band may be interpreted as a DL subband, and the UL band may be interpreted as a UL subband. In the following, XDD / SBFD will be abbreviated simply as SBFD where appropriate.
[0037] (2) Functional Block Configuration of Wireless Communication System Next, a functional block configuration of the wireless communication system 10 will be described. Specifically, a functional block configuration of the UE 200 will be described. Fig. 4 is a functional block configuration diagram of the gNB 100 and the UE 200.
[0038] As shown in FIG. 4 , the UE 200 includes a radio signal transmitting / receiving unit 210, an amplifier unit 220, a modulation / demodulation unit 230, a control signal / reference signal processing unit 240, an encoding / decoding unit 250, a data transmitting / receiving unit 260, and a control unit 270.
[0039] It should be noted that Fig. 4 shows only the main functional blocks relevant to the description of the embodiment, and that the UE 200 (gNB 100) has other functional blocks (e.g., a power supply unit, etc.). Fig. 4 shows the functional block configuration of the UE 200, and for the hardware configuration, please refer to Fig. 14.
[0040] The radio signal transmitting and receiving unit 210 transmits and receives radio signals conforming to NR. The radio signal transmitting and receiving unit 210 can support Massive MIMO, which generates a more directional beam by controlling radio (RF) signals transmitted from multiple antenna elements, Carrier Aggregation (CA), which aggregates and uses multiple component carriers (CCs), and Dual Connectivity (DC), which simultaneously communicates between a UE and two NG-RAN nodes.
[0041] Furthermore, the radio signal transceiver 210 can transmit and receive radio signals in accordance with SBFD, i.e., subband full-duplex (SBFD) in which uplink subbands (UL subbands) and downlink subbands (DL subbands) are allocated non-overlappingly in the frequency direction within a specified time based on time division duplex (TDD). Of course, the radio signal transceiver 210 may also support duplexing methods such as TDD and FDD (frequency division duplex).
[0042] In particular, in this embodiment, the radio signal transceiver 210 can transmit and receive radio signals via a beam BM (see FIG. 1 ) in accordance with SBFD, in which UL subbands or DL subbands are allocated non-overlappingly in the frequency direction within a specified time (e.g., symbol) based on TDD. In this embodiment, the radio signal transceiver 210 may constitute a communication unit.
[0043] Specifically, the radio signal transceiver 210 can transmit and receive UL / DL channels and reference signals (RSs), etc., by separately using UL / DL beams for SBFD symbols and UL / DL beams for non-SBFD symbols. That is, the network (wireless communication system 10) including the UE 200 may support settings related to individual beams for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols.
[0044] The radio signal transceiver 210 may transmit multiple UL / DL channels via a single transmission / reception point (TRP). A TRP may simply be interpreted as a transmitting antenna. A single TRP may mean that radio signals such as UL / DL channels are transmitted from a transmission point in one geographical location. Note that multiple TRPs may be used instead of a single TRP.
[0045] The amplifier unit 220 is configured by a PA (Power Amplifier) / LNA (Low Noise Amplifier), etc. The amplifier unit 220 amplifies the signal output from the modulation / demodulation unit 230 to a predetermined power level. The amplifier unit 220 also amplifies the RF signal output from the radio signal transmission / reception unit 210.
[0046] The modem unit 230 performs data modulation / demodulation, transmission power setting, resource block allocation, etc. for each predetermined communication destination (e.g., gNB 100). The modem unit 230 may apply Cyclic Prefix-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CP-OFDM) / Discrete Fourier Transform - Spread (DFT-S-OFDM). Furthermore, DFT-S-OFDM may be used not only for the uplink (UL) but also for the downlink (DL).
[0047] The control signal and reference signal processor 240 executes processing related to various control signals transmitted and received by the UE 200 and processing related to various reference signals transmitted and received by the UE 200 .
[0048] Specifically, the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240 receives various control signals, for example, control signals of a radio resource control layer (RRC), transmitted via a predetermined control channel from the gNB 100. In addition, the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240 transmits various control signals to the gNB 100 via a predetermined control channel.
[0049] The control signal and reference signal processor 240 performs processing using reference signals (RS) such as a Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) and a Phase Tracking Reference Signal (PTRS).
[0050] DMRS is a reference signal (pilot signal) known between the base station and the terminal for estimating the fading channel used for data demodulation, while PTRS is a terminal-specific reference signal for estimating phase noise, which is an issue in high frequency bands.
[0051] In addition to DMRS and PTRS, the reference signals may also include Channel State Information-Reference Signal (CSI-RS), Sounding Reference Signal (SRS), and Positioning Reference Signal (PRS) for position information.
[0052] The channels include a control channel and a data channel. The control channel may include a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), a random access channel (RACH, downlink control information (DCI) including a random access radio network temporary identifier (RA-RNTI)), a physical broadcast channel (PBCH), etc.
[0053] Furthermore, the data channel includes a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), etc. Data may refer to data transmitted via a data channel.
[0054] In this embodiment, a single transmission configuration indication state (TCI-State) may be set for multiple UL / DL channels. Specifically, one TCI state (which may be called a Unified TCI state) may be set. The Unified TCI state is specified in 3GPP Release-17 and may be called a unified TCI (transmission configuration indication), a joint TCI, or the like.
[0055] The control signal and reference signal processing unit 240 may receive a command instructing activation of a Unified TCI state for a radio signal including multiple UL / DL channels, etc. In this embodiment, the control signal and reference signal processing unit 240 may constitute a receiving unit.
[0056] Specifically, the control signal / reference signal processor 240 may receive a media access control layer control element (MAC CE) instructing activation of the Unified TCI state from the network (gNB). This MAC CE (command) may be called a TCI-State Activation MAC CE. A MAC CE instructing deactivation of the Unified TCI state (TCI-State Deactivation MAC CE) may be set.
[0057] The control signal and reference signal processor 240 may receive control information indicating a single transmission setting instruction state for radio signals such as multiple UL / DL channels, specifically, a Unified TCI state. In this embodiment, the control signal and reference signal processor 240 may constitute a receiver.
[0058] Specifically, the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240 can receive DCI (which may also be referred to as downlink control information) indicating the Unified TCI state from the network (gNB).
[0059] The control signal and reference signal processor 240 may also receive a parameter from the network indicating whether the Unified TCI state is applied to at least one of a specific downlink control channel and a specific reference signal. The parameter may be provided as an information element (IE) or a feed element by an RRC message, for example.
[0060] The specific downlink control channel may include a PDCCH. However, as long as it is a channel for downlink control, it is not necessarily limited to a PDCCH. The specific reference signal (RS) may include an SRS. However, as long as it is a downlink reference signal, it is not necessarily limited to an SRS.
[0061] The control signal and reference signal processor 240 may transmit capability information (UE Capability Information) of the UE 200 to the network. In particular, in this embodiment, the control signal and reference signal processor 240 may transmit capability information related to SBFD. The capability information may include, for example, whether or not UL / DL beams individually set for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols are supported, whether or not UL / DL beams individually set for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols are supported when the Unified TCI state is applied, and whether or not TCI-State Activation MAC CE indicating a TCI codepoint associated with an SBFD symbol is supported.
[0062] The encoding / decoding unit 250 performs data division / concatenation and channel coding / decoding for each predetermined communication destination (gNB 100 or another gNB).
[0063] Specifically, the encoding / decoding unit 250 divides the data output from the data transmitting / receiving unit 260 into pieces of a predetermined size, performs channel coding on the divided data, decodes the data output from the modem unit 230, and concatenates the decoded data.
[0064] The data transmitter / receiver 260 transmits and receives Protocol Data Units (PDUs) and Service Data Units (SDUs). Specifically, the data transmitter / receiver 260 assembles and disassembles PDUs / SDUs in multiple layers (such as a Medium Access Control layer (MAC), a Radio Link Control layer (RLC), and a Packet Data Convergence Protocol layer (PDCP)). The data transmitter / receiver 260 also performs data error correction and retransmission control based on Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (Hybrid ARQ).
[0065] The control unit 270 controls each functional block constituting the UE 200. In particular, in this embodiment, the control unit 270 can control UL / DL beams when SBFD is applied.
[0066] Specifically, when a single transmission setting instruction state (Unified TCI state) is set for a radio signal including multiple UL / DL channels, the control unit 270 may control the TCI applied to SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols based on the MAC CE (TCI-State Activation MAC CE) received by the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240.
[0067] In addition, when a single transmission setting instruction state (Unified TCI state) is set for a radio signal including multiple UL / DL channels, the control unit 270 may select a TCI-State (Unified TCI state) associated with an SBFD symbol and a TCI-State (Unified TCI state) associated with a non-SBFD symbol based on the control information (DCI) received by the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240.
[0068] An SBFD symbol may be referred to as a first time unit to which the subband full-duplex communication method (SBFD) is applied. A non-SBFD symbol may be referred to as a second time unit to which the subband full-duplex communication method is not applied. Note that the first time unit and the second time unit do not necessarily have to be based on a symbol, but may be based on a slot or the like.
[0069] The control unit 270 may select a TCI-State (Unified TCI state) associated with an SBFD symbol and a non-SBFD symbol (hereinafter abbreviated as SBFD and non-SBFD as appropriate) based on the control information (DCI) itself associated with the SBFD symbol and the non-SBFD symbol individually, or based on a field or a bit of the control information.
[0070] Alternatively, the control unit 270 may select a TCI-State (Unified TCI state) based on the control information (DCI) itself that is commonly associated with SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols, a field of the control information, or a bit of the control information.
[0071] When a specific condition is satisfied, the control unit 270 may update at least one of the Unified TCI state associated with the SBFD symbol and the Unified TCI state associated with the non-SBFD symbol. The specific condition may be, for example, when DCI conforming to a DCI format (e.g., DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3) indicating Joint TCI for SBFD (which may be read as Unified TCI state) is received. Specific conditions will be described further below.
[0072] The control unit 270 may determine whether to apply the Unified TCI state to a specific downlink control channel or a specific reference signal when the downlink control channel (PDCCH) or reference signal (SRS) is assigned to an SBFD symbol, based on parameters received by the control signal / reference signal processing unit 240, specifically, parameters indicating whether the Unified TCI state is applied to at least one of a specific downlink control channel and a specific reference signal.
[0073] For example, the control unit 270 may determine, based on the parameter included in the RRC message, whether to apply the Unified TCI state when the downlink control channel or the reference signal is transmitted on an SBFD symbol.
[0074] (3) Operation of the Wireless Communication System Next, we will explain the operation of the wireless communication system 10. Specifically, we will explain the operation of the UE 200 when the Unified TCI state is set and UL / DL beams are set separately for the SBFD symbol and the non-SBFD symbol.
[0075] (3.1) Assumptions and Issues As described above, in the wireless communication system 10, a single (common) TCI-State (Unified TCI state) may be set for multiple UL / DL channels (which may also be read as wireless signals).
[0076] Figure 5 shows an example of the application of TCI-State (Joint TCI-State, Separate TCI-State). The beam indication (TCI state / spatial relation / SRI (SRS resource indicator) indication) according to the 3GPP Release 15 specification is flexible but complex. In practical operation, a gNB often indicates a single optimal UL / DL beam for all DL / UL channels (CHs) and reference signals (RSs). The CH / RS-independent beam indication according to the 3GPP Release 15 specification is inefficient in terms of signaling, gNB operation, and UE implementation.
[0077] Therefore, 3GPP Release 17 specifies a TCI framework with an improved beam indication method. The gNB indicates a specified TCI-State by RRC / MAC CE / DCI, and the TCI-State is applied to multiple DL / UL CHs / RSs.
[0078] Figure 6 shows an example of the configuration of TCI-State (Joint TCI-State, Separate TCI-State). In the Unified TCI state, a DCI-based TCI-State indication can be used. Specifically, the TCI-State is indicated by the TCI state field (maximum 3 bits) of DCI format 1_1 / 1_2.
[0079] One TCI codepoint (which may also be called bit information) can be associated with one "joint TCI" or "DL TCI and / or UL TCI."
[0080] Additionally, SBFD can be utilized in the wireless communication system 10. One of the main motivations for supporting separate UL / DL beams for SBFD and non-SBFD symbols is to apply different transmit / receive (TX / RX) antenna configurations for SBFD and non-SBFD symbols at the gNB side.
[0081] The details of how to support separate UL / DL beams for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols have not yet been considered. In particular, if the Unified TCI state is configured and separate UL / DL beams are configured for SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols, the UE may not be able to determine the relationship between the Unified TCI state and the UL / DL beam, which may result in an inability to configure an appropriate beam.
[0082] (3.2) Operational Overview Figure 7 shows an overall overview of operations related to the TCI-State. As shown in Figure 7, operations related to the TCI-State may be configured by the phases of TCI-State configuration, TCI-State activation, and TCI-State indication.
[0083] As described above, separate UL / DL beams (hereinafter referred to as separate UL / DL beams as appropriate) may be supported in SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols, and TCI-State configuration for the UE may be performed by RRC.
[0084] TCI-State activation may be performed by sending a MAC CE to the UE, which may include a TCI codepoint (also referred to as a TCI field).
[0085] The TCI-State indication may be performed by sending a DCI to the UE, which may include a TCI state field.
[0086] Separate TCI-States (which may be read as TCIs) for SBFD and non-SBFD may be mapped to TCI codepoints. Also, separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD may be indicated by DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3. Specifically, the following operation example may be performed.
[0087] (Operation Example 1): A separate DCI, a separate DCI field, or a separate DCI bit is used to indicate separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0088] - (Operation example 2): A common DCI field / bit indicates separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0089] (Operation Example 3): Updating the Instructed TCI-State (Operation Examples 4 / 5): Applying the Unified TCI State to the SRS / PDCCH Figure 8 shows examples of TCI codepoint mapping according to Operation Examples 1 and 2. As shown in Figure 8, in Operation Example 1, separate TCI codepoints for SBFD and non-SBFD may be configured. The TCI codepoint may be interpreted as mapping the TCI field to the Joint TCI (TCI-State). In Operation Example 2, two Joint TCIs may be mapped to the TCI field, one of which may be for SBFD.
[0090] (3.3) Operation Example 1 In this operation example, separate DCI fields or bits or separate DCIs are used to indicate the TCI-State for SBFD and the TCI-State for non-SBFD, respectively.
[0091] (3.3.1) Operation Example 1-1 To indicate the TCI-State for SBFD and the TCI-State for non-SBFD, respectively, any of the following methods may be applied.
[0092] (Alt. 1): For a DCI having separate DCI Transmission Configuration Indication fields for indicating the TCI-State for SBFD and the TCI-State for non-SBFD, whether the DCI indicates the TCI for SBFD or the TCI for non-SBFD may be determined as follows:
[0093] (Alt. 1-1): Explicitly indicated by a bit in the DCI.
[0094] For example, the least significant bit / most significant bit (LSB / MSB) of a new DCI bit / field or TCI field may be used to indicate whether the TCI is for SBFD or non-SBFD. The presence of the bit may be configured by RRC. For example, if an RRC parameter enabling separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD is configured and tci-PresentInDCI or tci-PresentDCI-1-2 is configured, the bit may be present in DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3.
[0095] ・(Alt. 1-2): DCI format is set by RRC.
[0096] For example, an RRC parameter may be set for a DCI format (eg, tci-present-for-SBFD-r19) to indicate that the DCI format is TCI-State for SBFD or TCI-State for non-SBFD.
[0097] (Alt. 1-3): Determined based on DCI symbol type.
[0098] For example, if the DCI is in an SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state (Unified TCI state) for SBFD. If the DCI is in a non-SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state (Unified TCI state) for non-SBFD.
[0099] (Alt. 1-4): Determined based on the symbol type of the PDSCH scheduled by DCI or the symbol type of the first PDSCH repetition / occasion scheduled by DCI.
[0100] For example, if the PDSCH (or the first PDSCH repetition / occasion) scheduled by the DCI is within an SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state for SBFD (Unified TCI state). If the PDSCH (or the first PDSCH repetition / occasion) scheduled by the DCI is in a non-SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state for non-SBFD (Unified TCI state).
[0101] (Alt. 1-5): Determined based on the symbol type of the HARQ (hybrid automatic repeat request)-ACK PUCCH (first repetition) corresponding to DCI.
[0102] For example, if (the first repetition of) the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI is an SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state for SBFD (Unified TCI state). If (the first repetition of) the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI is a non-SBFD symbol, the Transmission Configuration Indication field of the DCI may indicate the Joint TCI state for non-SBFD (Unified TCI state).
[0103] Note that, when an RRC parameter enabling separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD is configured, the UE may apply the above-mentioned Alt 1-2 / 1-3 / 1-4 to determine separate DCIs indicating the TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD. Otherwise, the UE may determine that the TCI-State indication by the DCI is in accordance with the conventional 3GPP specifications and apply the indicated TCI-States to channels / signals on SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols.
[0104] (Alt. 2): Separate DCI fields indicating the SBFD TCI-State and the non-SBFD TCI-State. For example, the SBFD TCI-State may be indicated by a new DCI field (e.g., TCI for SBFD). The presence of the new field may be configured by new RRC parameters for DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3. The non-SBFD Joint TCI state may be indicated by the conventional TCI field.
[0105] (Alt. 3): Separate DCI bits in the TCI field indicating the TCI-State for SBFD and the TCI-State for non-SBFD. For example, the Joint TCI state for SBFD may be indicated by the LSB / MSB bits of the TCI field. The Joint TCI state for non-SBFD may be indicated by the MSB / LSB bits of the Transmission Configuration Indication field.
[0106] Whether to reinterpret the Transmission Configuration Indication field and determine separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD may be configured by the RRC. If an RRC parameter enabling separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD is configured, the UE may apply separate bits to the Transmission Configuration Indication field to determine the TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD, respectively. Otherwise, the UE may determine the TCI-State indication by the DCI as per the conventional 3GPP specifications and apply the indicated TCI-State to the channels / signals of SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols.
[0107] (3.3.2) Operation Example 1-2 Individual DCI or individual DCI bits / fields may be applied to mapping of common or individual TCI codepoints to SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0108] (Option 1): Separate DCIs or separate DCI bits / fields may be applied to map a common TCI codepoint to SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0109] The mapping of the common TCI codepoint may be activated / specified / determined according to conventional 3GPP specifications, or may be activated / specified / determined in a novel manner.
[0110] To indicate the TCI-State for SBFD, the determined DCI or DCI bit / field may be applied to the TCI codepoint to indicate the TCI-State for SBFD. To indicate the TCI-State for non-SBFD, the determined DCI or DCI bit / field may be applied to the TCI codepoint to indicate the TCI-State for non-SBFD.
[0111] (Option 2): A separate DCI or separate DCI bits / fields may be applied to separate TCI codepoint mappings for SBFD and non-SBFD, respectively.
[0112] The mapping of individual TCI codepoints for SBFD and non-SBFD may be activated / specified / determined by novel methods. A DCI or DCI bit / field determined to indicate an SBFD TCI-State may be applied to an SBFD TCI codepoint to indicate the SBFD TCI-State. A DCI or DCI bit / field determined to indicate a non-SBFD TCI-State may be applied to a non-SBFD TCI codepoint to indicate the non-SBFD TCI-State.
[0113] Fig. 9 shows an example of TCI codepoint mapping according to operation example 1-2 (option 1), and Fig. 10 shows an example of TCI codepoint mapping according to operation example 1-2 (option 2).
[0114] (3.4) Operation Example 2 In this operation example, the common DCI field / bit may indicate separate TCI-States for SBFD and non-SBFD. Specifically, the following options may be applied:
[0115] (Option 1): The Transmission Configuration Indication field may be applied to the mapping of common TCI codepoints for SBFD and non-SBFD, and determine the TCI-State indicated for SBFD and / or non-SBFD.
[0116] The common TCI codepoint mapping may be activated / indicated / determined by a novel method: the TCI-State indicated by the DCI may be determined based on the TCI-State mapping to the indicated TCI codepoint.
[0117] (Option 2): The Transmission Configuration Indication field may be applied to separate TCI codepoint mappings for SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0118] The mapping of separate TCI codepoints for SBFD and non-SBFD may be activated / indicated / determined by novel methods.
[0119] The TCI field may be applied to a TCI codepoint for SBFD to determine a TCI-State indicated for SBFD, or may be applied to a TCI codepoint for non-SBFD to determine a TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD.
[0120] Fig. 11 shows an example of TCI codepoint mapping according to operation example 2 (option 1). Fig. 12 shows an example of TCI codepoint mapping according to operation example 2 (option 2).
[0121] (Option 3): The "Transmission Configuration Indication" field is applied to the mapping of the non-SBFD TCI codepoint, and the SBFD TCI-State may be determined based on the setting of the TCI-State association indicated for non-SBFD.
[0122] This option may be applied when the non-SBFD TCI-State is set by the associated TCI-State of SBFD. The TCI field may be applied to the non-SBFD TCI codepoint to determine the non-SBFD TCI-State. If the non-SBFD indicated TCI-State is set by the TCI-State associated with SBFD, the SBFD associated TCI-State may be determined as the TCI-State for SBFD.
[0123] In addition, if a TCI-State associated with SBFD is not set for a TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD use, one of the following methods may be applied.
[0124] (Alt. 1): The TCI-State indicated for SBFD may be determined as the TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD.
[0125] - (Alt. 2): The TCI-State for SBFD is not indicated by the DCI.
[0126] FIG. 13 shows an example of TCI codepoint mapping according to operation example 2 (option 3).
[0127] (3.5) Operation Example 3 In this operation example, the instructed TCI-State is updated.
[0128] (3.5.1) Operation Example 3-1: Regarding the application time of the SBFD / non-SBFD TCI-State, when a UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD that differs from the previously indicated Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD, the Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD may be applied to the DL and / or UL channels / signals of SBFD symbols starting from the first slot that is at least Y symbols after the last symbol of the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI indicating the TCI-State. The value of Y may be provided by the conventional beamAppTime or another parameter for SBFD (e.g., beamAppTime-sbfd-r19).
[0129] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a non-SBFD Joint / DL / UL TCI-State that differs from a previously indicated non-SBFD Joint / DL / UL TCI-State, the non-SBFD Joint / DL / UL TCI-State may be applied to the DL and / or UL channels / signals in SBFD symbols starting from the first slot that is at least beamAppTime symbols after the last symbol of the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI indicating the TCI-State. The value of Y may be provided by the conventional beamAppTime or another parameter for SBFD (e.g., beamAppTime-sbfd-r19).
[0130] If a Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for non-SBFD is associated with a Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD, and the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a Joint / DL / UL TCI-State (for non-SBFD), where the associated Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD is different from the previous Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD, the Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD associated with the indicated Joint / DL / UL TCI-State (for non-SBFD) may be applied to the DL and / or UL channels / signals of SBFD symbols starting from the first slot that is at least Y symbols after the last symbol of the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI containing the TCI state indication.
[0131] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a Joint / DL / UL TCI-State (for non-SBFD) and the associated Joint / DL / UL TCI-State (for SBFD) is not configured for the indicated Joint / DL / UL TCI-State (for non-SBFD), one of the following methods may be applied:
[0132] (Alt. 1): The previous Joint / DL / UL TCI-State of SBFD may be retained.
[0133] (Alt. 2): The specified Joint / DL / UL TCI-State may be applied for SBFD. If the specified Joint / DL / UL TCI-State is different from the previous Joint / DL / UL TCI-State for SBFD, the specified Joint / DL / UL TCI-State may be applied to the DL and / or UL channels / signals for the SBFD symbols. This may start from the first slot that is at least Y symbols after the last symbol of the HARQ-ACK PUCCH corresponding to the DCI containing the TCI state indication.
[0134] (3.5.2) Operation Example 3-2 Regarding the update of the TCI-State for SBFD or the TCI-State for non-SBFD, if the Joint TCI-State is applied and the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the Joint TCI-State for SBFD only, the UE may update the Joint TCI-State for SBFD and retain the indicated Joint TCI-State for non-SBFD.
[0135] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the Joint TCI-State for non-SBFD only, the UE may update the Joint TCI-State for non-SBFD and retain the indicated Joint TCI-State for SBFD.
[0136] If a UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a joint TCI-state for non-SBFD, and the joint TCI-state indicated for non-SBFD is associated with a joint TCI-state for SBFD, the UE may update the joint TCI-state for non-SBFD and the joint TCI-state for SBFD.
[0137] Furthermore, if the DL and UL TCI-States are different, the UE may operate as follows: Specifically, if the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 that indicates the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for SBFD only, the UE may update the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for SBFD and retain the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD.
[0138] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for non-SBFD only, the UE may update the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for non-SBFD and retain the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State indicated for SBFD.
[0139] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for non-SBFD, and the DL and UL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD are associated with the DL and UL TCI for SBFD, the UE may update the DL and UL TCI-State for non-SBFD and the Joint TCI-State for SBFD.
[0140] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the DL TCI-State for SBFD only, the UE may update the DL TCI-State for SBFD, retain the indicated DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for non-SBFD, and retain the indicated UL TCI-State for SBFD.
[0141] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the DL TCI-State for non-SBFD only, the UE may update the DL TCI-State for non-SBFD, retain the indicated DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State for SBFD, and retain the indicated UL TCI-State for non-SBFD.
[0142] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating a DL TCI-State for non-SBFD, and the DL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD is associated with a DL TCI for SBFD, the UE may update the DL TCI-State for non-SBFD and retain the UL TCI-State indicated for SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0143] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the UL TCI-State for SBFD only, the UE may update the UL TCI-State for SBFD, retain the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD, and retain the DL TCI-State indicated for SBFD.
[0144] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the UL TCI-State for non-SBFD only, the UE may update the UL TCI-State for non-SBFD, retain the DL TCI-State and UL TCI-State indicated for SBFD, and retain the DL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD.
[0145] If the UE receives DCI format 1_1 / 1_2 / 1_3 indicating the UL TCI-State for non-SBFD, and the UL TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD is associated with the UL TCI for SBFD, the UE may update the UL TCI-State for non-SBFD and retain the DL TCI-State indicated for SBFD and non-SBFD.
[0146] (3.6) Operation Example 4 In this operation example, whether the UE follows the individual Joint TCI (Unified TCI state) instruction for SBFD for the SRS resources in the SRS resource set may be configured by a conventional or new RRC parameter. Specifically, the following options may be applied:
[0147] (Option 1): The conventional parameter followUnifiedTCIStateSRS may be reused to indicate whether or not to apply Joint / UL TCI-State to SRS transmission in SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols.
[0148] For example, if an SRS resource set is configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS and the SRS uses SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set, the Joint / UL TCI-State specified for SBFD may be applied to determine the UL TX spatial filter. If an SRS uses non-SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set, the Joint / UL TCI-State specified for non-SBFD may be applied to determine the UL TX spatial filter.
[0149] If the SRS resource set is not configured by followUnifiedTCIStateSRS, the UE may determine the UL TX spatial filter corresponding to the SRS using SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set based on the framework of UL spatial information.
[0150] (Option 2): A new RRC parameter for the SRS resource set (e.g., followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-sbfd-r19, which may be tentatively named) may indicate whether the SRS occasion of the SBFD symbol follows the Joint TCI state of SBFD.
[0151] For SRS using non-SBFD symbols, the conventional followUnifiedTCIStateSRS may indicate whether to follow the Joint TCI state for SRS occasions of non-SBFD symbols. When an SRS resource set is configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS and for SRS occasions of non-SBFD symbols on SRS resources in the SRS resource set, the specified non-SBFD TCI-State may be applied to determine the UL TX spatial filter.
[0152] If the SRS resource set is not configured by followUnifiedTCIStateSRS, for an SRS occasion using non-SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set, the UE may determine the UL TX spatial filter based on the framework of the UL spatial information.
[0153] For an SRS using SBFD symbols, where the SRS resource set is configured by followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-sbfd-r19, and where the SRS uses SBFD symbols within the SRS resource set, the Joint / UL TCI-State specified for SBFD may be applied and the UL TX spatial filter may be determined.
[0154] If the SRS resource set is not configured by followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-sbfd-r19 and the SRS uses SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set, the UE may determine the UL TX spatial filter to be applied to the SRS using SBFD symbols in the SRS resource set based on the framework of UL spatial information.
[0155] (3.7) Operation Example 5 In this operation example, for control resource sets (CORESET), whether the UE follows the instructions of a separate Joint TCI (Unified TCI state) for SBFD may be configured by a conventional parameter or a new parameter of RRC. Specifically, the following options may be applied:
[0156] (Option 1): The conventional parameter followUnifiedTCI-State included in ControlResourceSet or PDCCH-ConfigCommon may be reused to indicate whether to follow the Joint / DL TCI-State indicated for PDCCH reception in CORESET for SBFD and non-SBFD symbols.
[0157] If followUnifiedTCI-State is configured in ControlResourceSet or PDCCH-ConfigCommon, the UE may assume that the DM-RS antenna ports for PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols in the CORESET are quasi-co-located with the reference signals provided by the TCI-State indicated for SBFD. Similarly, the UE may assume that the DM-RS antenna ports for PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols in the CORESET are quasi-co-located with the reference signals provided by the TCI-State indicated for non-SBFD.
[0158] If followUnifiedTCI-State is not configured in ControlResourceSet or PDCCH-ConfigCommon, the UE may assume Quasi Co-Location (QCL) of the DM-RS antenna ports for PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols in CORESET based on the TCI framework specified in 3GPP Release 15 / 16.
[0159] (Option 2): A new RRC parameter in ControlResourceSet (followUnifiedTCI-State-sbfd-r19, tentative name may be used) may indicate whether PDCCH reception of SBFD symbols follows the unified TCI-State for SBFD.
[0160] For PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols, the conventional followUnifiedTCI-State may be used to indicate whether to follow the Joint TCI state for PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols. When CORESET is configured with followUnifiedTCI-State and for PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols of CORESET, the UE may assume that the DM-RS antenna port is pseudo-co-located with the reference signal provided by the specified TCI-State for non-SBFD.
[0161] If CORESET is not configured by followUnifiedTCI-State and for PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols of CORESET, the UE may assume the QCL of the DM-RS antenna port for PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols of CORESET based on the TCI framework specified in 3GPP Release 15 / 16.
[0162] In the case of PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols, a new parameter followUnifiedTCI-State-sbfd-r19 may indicate whether to follow the Joint TCI state for PDCCH reception on non-SBFD symbols.
[0163] When CORESET is configured by followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-sbfd-r19 and PDCCH reception occurs on SBFD symbols within CORESET, the UE may assume that the DM-RS antenna is pseudo-co-located with the reference signal provided by the specified TCI-State of SBFD.
[0164] If CORESET is not configured with followUnifiedTCIStateSRS-sbfd-r19 and PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols within CORESET, the UE may assume the QCL of the DM-RS antenna port for PDCCH reception on SBFD symbols within CORESET based on the TCI framework specified in GPP Release 15 / 16.
[0165] This operation example may be applied to a CORESET having index 0 or a CORESET having an index other than index 0.
[0166] (3.8) UE Capability A UE may report the presence or absence of the following capabilities (UE Capability Information) regarding SBFD to the network. The UE Capability Information may be defined for each UE, frequency range (FR), frequency channel (FC), etc. Furthermore, RRC signaling and configuration for reporting the UE Capability Information may be defined.
[0167] Support for individual DCIs indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on individual TCI codepoint mappings. Support for individual DCI fields indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on individual TCI codepoint mappings. Support for individual DCI bits indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on individual TCI codepoint mappings. Support for individual DCIs indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on common TCI codepoint mappings. Support for individual DCI fields indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on common TCI codepoint mappings. Support for individual DCI bits indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on common TCI codepoint mappings. Support for common DCI fields / bits indicating SBFD and non-SBFD TCI-States based on individual TCI codepoint mappings. Support for updating of TCI-States indicated only for SBFD / non-SBFD. According to the above-mentioned operation example, the UE Even when a Unified TCI state is configured and individual UL / DL beams are configured, the UE can determine the relationship between the Unified TCI state and the UL / DL beam and perform appropriate beam configuration. Specifically, the UE can select the Unified TCI state to be applied to SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols based on control information (DCI) from the network and configure the UL / DL beam. This enables transmission and reception of appropriate UL / DL beams using SBFD symbols and non-SBFD symbols while applying the Unified TCI state.

Note that the input device 1005 and the output device 1006 may be integrated into one device (e.g., a touch panel).
[0186] Furthermore, each device such as the processor 1001 and the memory 1002 is connected to a bus 1007 for communicating information. The bus 1007 may be configured using a single bus, or may be configured using different buses between each device.
[0187] Furthermore, the device may be configured to include hardware such as a microprocessor, a digital signal processor (DSP), an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC), a programmable logic device (PLD), or a field programmable gate array (FPGA), and some or all of the functional blocks may be realized by the hardware. For example, the processor 1001 may be implemented using at least one of these pieces of hardware.
[0188] Furthermore, the notification of information is not limited to the aspects / embodiments described in the present disclosure, and may be performed using other methods. For example, the notification of information may be performed by physical layer signaling (e.g., Downlink Control Information (DCI), Uplink Control Information (UCI)), higher layer signaling (e.g., RRC signaling, Medium Access Control (MAC) signaling, broadcast information (Master Information Block (MIB), System Information Block (SIB))), other signals, or a combination thereof. Furthermore, the RRC signaling may be referred to as an RRC message, and may be, for example, an RRC Connection Setup message, an RRC Connection Reconfiguration message, or the like.
[0189] Each aspect / embodiment described in the present disclosure may be applied to at least one of a system using Long Term Evolution (LTE), LTE-Advanced (LTE-A), SUPER 3G, IMT-Advanced, a 4th generation mobile communication system (4G), a 5th generation mobile communication system (5G), a 6th generation mobile communication system (6G), an xth generation mobile communication system (xG) (where x is, for example, an integer or a decimal), Future Radio Access (FRA), New Radio (NR), W-CDMA (registered trademark), GSM (registered trademark), CDMA2000, Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB), IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi (registered trademark)), IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX (registered trademark)), IEEE 802.20, Ultra-WideBand (UWB), Bluetooth (registered trademark), or other suitable system, and a next-generation system extended based on these. [0190] The order of the procedures, sequences, flowcharts, etc. of each aspect / embodiment described in this disclosure may be changed unless it is consistent. For example, the methods described in this disclosure present elements of various steps using an example order, and are not limited to the particular order presented.
[0191] In the present disclosure, a specific operation described as being performed by a base station may also be performed by its upper node in some cases. In a network consisting of one or more network nodes having a base station, it is clear that various operations performed for communication with a terminal may be performed by at least one of the base station and another network node other than the base station (e.g., MME or S-GW, etc., but are not limited to these). Although the above example illustrates a case where there is one other network node other than the base station, a combination of multiple other network nodes (e.g., MME and S-GW) may also be used.
[0192] Information, signals (information, etc.) may be output from a higher layer (or a lower layer) to a lower layer (or a higher layer), or may be input and output via multiple network nodes.
[0193] The input and output information may be stored in a specific location (for example, a memory) or may be managed using a management table. The input and output information may be overwritten, updated, or added. The output information may be deleted. The input information may be transmitted to another device.
[0194] The determination may be made based on a value represented by one bit (0 or 1), a Boolean value (true or false), or a numerical comparison (e.g., comparison with a predetermined value).
[0195] The aspects / embodiments described in this disclosure may be used alone, in combination, or switched depending on the implementation. Notification of predetermined information (e.g., notification that "X is true") is not limited to explicit notification, but may be implicit (e.g., not notifying the predetermined information).
[0196] Software shall be construed broadly to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, program code, programs, subprograms, software modules, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executable files, threads of execution, procedures, functions, etc., whether referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or otherwise.
[0197] Software, instructions, information, etc. may also be transmitted or received over a transmission medium. For example, if software is transmitted from a website, server, or other remote source using wired technologies (such as coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, twisted pair, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL)), and / or wireless technologies (such as infrared, microwave), then these wired and / or wireless technologies are included within the definition of transmission media.
[0198] The information, signals, etc. described in this disclosure may be represented using any of a variety of different technologies. For example, data, instructions, commands, information, signals, bits, symbols, chips, etc. that may be referred to throughout the above description may be represented by voltages, currents, electromagnetic waves, magnetic fields or magnetic particles, optical fields or photons, or any combination thereof.
[0199] Note that terms described in this disclosure and terms necessary for understanding this disclosure may be replaced with terms having the same or similar meanings. For example, at least one of a channel and a symbol may be a signal (signaling). Furthermore, a signal may be a message. Furthermore, a component carrier (CC) may be called a carrier frequency, a cell, a frequency carrier, etc.
[0200] As used in this disclosure, the terms "system" and "network" are used interchangeably.
[0201] Furthermore, the information, parameters, etc. described in the present disclosure may be expressed using absolute values, may be expressed using relative values from a predetermined value, or may be expressed using other corresponding information. For example, a radio resource may be indicated by an index.
[0202] The names used for the above-described parameters are not intended to be limiting in any way. Furthermore, the mathematical expressions using these parameters may differ from those explicitly disclosed in this disclosure. The various channels (e.g., PUCCH, PDCCH, etc.) and information elements may be identified by any suitable names, and therefore the various names assigned to these various channels and information elements are not intended to be limiting in any way.
[0203] In this disclosure, terms such as "base station (BS)," "radio base station," "fixed station," "NodeB," "eNodeB (eNB)," "gNodeB (gNB)," "access point," "transmission point," "reception point," "transmission / reception point," "cell," "sector," "cell group," "carrier," and "component carrier" may be used interchangeably. Base stations may also be referred to by terms such as macrocell, small cell, femtocell, and picocell.
[0204] A base station can accommodate one or more (e.g., three) cells (also called sectors). When a base station accommodates multiple cells, the overall coverage area of the base station can be divided into multiple smaller areas, and each smaller area can be provided with communication services by a base station subsystem (e.g., a small indoor base station (Remote Radio Head: RRH)).
[0205] The terms "cell" or "sector" refer to part or all of the coverage area of a base station and / or base station subsystem that provides communication services within that coverage area.
[0206] In the present disclosure, the base station transmitting information to a terminal may be interpreted as the base station instructing the terminal to control or operate based on the information.
[0207] In this disclosure, the terms "Mobile Station (MS)," "user terminal," "User Equipment (UE)," "terminal," etc. may be used interchangeably.
[0208] A mobile station may also be referred to by those skilled in the art as a subscriber station, mobile unit, subscriber unit, wireless unit, remote unit, mobile device, wireless device, wireless communication device, remote device, mobile subscriber station, access terminal, mobile terminal, wireless terminal, remote terminal, handset, user agent, mobile client, client, or some other suitable terminology.
[0209] At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be referred to as a transmitting device, a receiving device, a communication device, etc. At least one of the base station and the mobile station may be a device mounted on a mobile object, the mobile object itself, etc. The mobile object may be a vehicle (e.g., a car, an airplane, etc.), an unmanned mobile object (e.g., a drone, an autonomous vehicle, etc.), or a robot (manned or unmanned). At least one of the base station and the mobile station may also include devices that do not necessarily move during communication operations. For example, at least one of the base station and the mobile station may be an Internet of Things (IoT) device such as a sensor.
[0210] Furthermore, a base station in the present disclosure may be read as a mobile station (user terminal, the same applies hereinafter). For example, the aspects / embodiments of the present disclosure may be applied to a configuration in which communication between a base station and a mobile station is replaced with communication between multiple mobile stations (which may be called, for example, Device-to-Device (D2D) or Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X)). In this case, the mobile station may be configured to have the functions of a base station. Furthermore, terms such as "uplink" and "downlink" may be read as terms corresponding to terminal-to-terminal communication (for example, "side"). For example, terms such as an uplink channel and a downlink channel may be read as a side channel (or sidelink).
[0211] Similarly, a mobile station in the present disclosure may be interpreted as a base station, in which case the base station may have the functions of a mobile station.
[0212] A radio frame may be composed of one or more frames in the time domain. Each of the one or more frames in the time domain may be called a subframe. A subframe may further be composed of one or more slots in the time domain. A subframe may have a fixed time length (e.g., 1 ms) that is independent of numerology.
[0213] Numerology may be communication parameters that apply to the transmission and / or reception of a signal or channel, such as subcarrier spacing (SCS), bandwidth, symbol length, cyclic prefix length, transmission time interval (TTI), number of symbols per TTI, radio frame structure, specific filtering operations performed by the transceiver in the frequency domain, and specific windowing operations performed by the transceiver in the time domain.
[0214] A slot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain (such as an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, a Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SC-FDMA) symbol, etc.) A slot may be a numerology-based time unit.
[0215] A slot may include multiple minislots. Each minislot may consist of one or more symbols in the time domain. A minislot may also be called a subslot. A minislot may consist of fewer symbols than a slot. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted in a time unit larger than a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type A. A PDSCH (or PUSCH) transmitted using a minislot may be called PDSCH (or PUSCH) mapping type B.
[0216] The radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol all represent time units for transmitting signals, and may be referred to by other names corresponding to the radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol.
[0217] For example, one subframe may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI), multiple consecutive subframes may be referred to as a TTI, or one slot or one minislot may be referred to as a TTI. That is, at least one of the subframe and the TTI may be a subframe (1 ms) in existing LTE, a period shorter than 1 ms (e.g., 1-13 symbols), or a period longer than 1 ms. Note that the unit representing the TTI may be called a slot, minislot, etc., instead of a subframe.
[0218] Here, TTI refers to, for example, the smallest time unit for scheduling in wireless communication. For example, in an LTE system, a base station schedules each user terminal to allocate radio resources (such as frequency bandwidth and transmission power that can be used by each user terminal) in TTI units. Note that the definition of TTI is not limited to this.
[0219] The TTI may be a transmission time unit for a channel-encoded data packet (transport block), a code block, a code word, etc., or may be a processing unit for scheduling, link adaptation, etc. When a TTI is given, the time interval (e.g., the number of symbols) to which a transport block, a code block, a code word, etc. is actually mapped may be shorter than the TTI.
[0220] In addition, when one slot or one minislot is called a TTI, one or more TTIs (i.e., one or more slots or one or more minislots) may be the minimum time unit for scheduling, and the number of slots (minislots) constituting the minimum time unit for scheduling may be controlled.
[0221] A TTI having a time length of 1 ms may be referred to as a regular TTI (TTI in LTE Rel. 8-12), normal TTI, long TTI, regular subframe, normal subframe, long subframe, slot, etc. A TTI shorter than a regular TTI may be referred to as a shortened TTI, short TTI, partial or fractional TTI, shortened subframe, short subframe, minislot, subslot, slot, etc.
[0222] In addition, a long TTI (e.g., a normal TTI, a subframe, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a time length of more than 1 ms, and a short TTI (e.g., a shortened TTI, etc.) may be interpreted as a TTI having a TTI length shorter than the TTI length of a long TTI and equal to or greater than 1 ms.
[0223] A resource block (RB) is a resource allocation unit in the time domain and the frequency domain, and may include one or more consecutive subcarriers in the frequency domain. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be the same regardless of numerology, for example, 12. The number of subcarriers included in an RB may be determined based on numerology.
[0224] The time domain of an RB may include one or more symbols and may have a length of one slot, one minislot, one subframe, or one TTI, each of which may consist of one or more resource blocks.
[0225] Note that one or more RBs may also be called a physical resource block (PRB), a sub-carrier group (SCG), a resource element group (REG), a PRB pair, an RB pair, etc.
[0226] Furthermore, a resource block may be composed of one or more resource elements (REs). For example, one RE may be a radio resource region of one subcarrier and one symbol.
[0227] A Bandwidth Part (BWP) (which may also be referred to as a fractional bandwidth) may represent a subset of contiguous common resource blocks (RBs) for a given numerology on a given carrier, where the common RBs may be identified by their index relative to a common reference point of the carrier. PRBs may be defined in a given BWP and numbered within that BWP.
[0228] The BWP may include a BWP for UL (UL BWP) and a BWP for DL (DL BWP). One or more BWPs may be configured for a UE within one carrier.
[0229] At least one of the configured BWPs may be active, and the UE may not expect to transmit or receive a given signal / channel outside the active BWP. Note that the terms "cell," "carrier," etc. in this disclosure may be read as "BWP."
[0230] The above-described structures of the radio frame, subframe, slot, minislot, and symbol are merely examples. For example, the number of subframes included in a radio frame, the number of slots per subframe or radio frame, the number of minislots included in a slot, the number of symbols and RBs included in a slot or minislot, the number of subcarriers included in an RB, the number of symbols in a TTI, the symbol length, the cyclic prefix (CP) length, and other configurations may be changed in various ways.
[0231] The terms "connected," "coupled," or any variation thereof, refer to any direct or indirect connection or coupling between two or more elements, and may include the presence of one or more intermediate elements between two elements that are "connected" or "coupled" to each other. The coupling or connection between elements may be physical, logical, or a combination thereof. For example, "connected" may be read as "access." As used in this disclosure, two elements may be considered to be "connected" or "coupled" to each other using one or more wires, cables, and / or printed electrical connections, as well as electromagnetic energy having wavelengths in the radio frequency range, microwave range, and optical (both visible and invisible) range, as some non-limiting and non-exhaustive examples.
[0232] The reference signal may also be abbreviated as Reference Signal (RS) and may be called a pilot depending on the applicable standard.
[0233] As used in this disclosure, the phrase "based on" does not mean "based only on," unless expressly stated otherwise. In other words, the phrase "based on" means both "based only on" and "based at least on."
[0234] The "means" in the configuration of each of the above devices may be replaced with "part," "circuit," "device," etc.
[0235] As used in this disclosure, any reference to an element using a designation such as "first," "second," etc. does not generally limit the quantity or order of those elements. These designations may be used in this disclosure as a convenient method of distinguishing between two or more elements. Thus, a reference to a first and a second element does not imply that only two elements may be employed therein or that the first element must precede the second element in some way.
[0236] When the terms "include," "including," and variations thereof are used in this disclosure, these terms are intended to be inclusive, similar to the term "comprising." Furthermore, when the term "or" is used in this disclosure, it is not intended to be an exclusive or.
[0237] In this disclosure, where articles are added by translation, such as a, an, and the in English, the disclosure may include that the nouns following these articles are in the plural form.
[0238] As used in this disclosure, the terms "determining" and "determining" may encompass a wide variety of actions. "Determining" and "determining" may include, for example, judging, calculating, computing, processing, deriving, investigating, looking up, searching, inquiring (e.g., searching in a table, database, or other data structure), ascertaining, and the like. "Determining" and "determining" may also include receiving (e.g., receiving information), transmitting (e.g., sending information), input, output, accessing (e.g., accessing data in memory), and the like. Furthermore, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding resolving, selecting, choosing, establishing, comparing, etc. as having been "judged" or "decided." In other words, "judgment" and "decision" can include regarding some action as having been "judged" or "decided." Furthermore, "judgment (decision)" can be interpreted as "assuming," "expecting," "considering," etc.
[0239] In the present disclosure, the term "A and B are different" may mean "A and B are different from each other." The term may also mean "A and B are each different from C." Terms such as "separate" and "coupled" may also be interpreted in the same way as "different."
