[0027] <Processing> <<Temporary Registration Processing>> Next, an example of processing when registering (temporarily registering) a face image of a user of the information processing device 10 according to the embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 4 to Fig. 6. Fig. 4 is a flowchart showing an example of processing when registering a face image of a user of the information processing device 10 according to the embodiment. Fig. 5 is a diagram showing an example of information recorded in a face DB (database) 501 according to the embodiment. The processing in Fig. 4 may be executed, for example, when a face image of the user is captured.

[0028] In step S101, the acquisition unit 11 acquires a first facial image of the user captured by the installed terminal 20 installed in a specific location. Here, the acquisition unit 11 may acquire images captured by tablet terminals or cameras installed in various locations within an area where various services provided by the information processing device 10 are provided.

[0029] Furthermore, the acquisition unit 11 may acquire, as information used to identify the user, at least one of at least a part of the user's date of birth and at least a part of the user's telephone number, which were input by the user to the installed terminal 20 etc. when the first face image was captured. As a result, for example, even if a face image of another user who is the specific user's twin or the like is mistakenly recognized as the face image of the specific user during the actual registration of the specific user, it is possible to extract only the face image of the specific user by using the information used to identify the user.

[0030] Next, the providing unit 12 provisionally registers (records) information based on the first face image acquired by the acquiring unit 11 in the face DB 501 (step S102). In the example of FIG. 5, the face DB 501 stores information on facial features and information used to identify users in association with face IDs. Furthermore, the face DB 501 stores a facial image and a shooting location in association with a combination of the face ID and a shooting date and time. The face ID is face identification information. The facial features are information indicating the user's facial features extracted from the face image to distinguish the user's face from the faces of other users. The shooting date and time and the shooting location are the date, time, and location at which the face image was captured.

[0031] (Example of announcing a benefit according to a face) When a first face image is captured, the providing unit 12 may display information indicating a benefit that will be granted if the user performs full registration, according to the location where the first face image was captured and the user's attributes estimated based on the first face image. This allows the user to be notified of information about a benefit that is available in a store near the location where the installed terminal 20 is installed, is suitable for the user's attributes, and will be granted if the user registers (full registration) user information. This can motivate the user to perform full registration.

[0032] In this case, the providing unit 12 may determine the user's attributes based on the first facial image. The user's attributes may include, for example, the user's age and gender. The providing unit 12 may then refer to information in a pre-registered table to extract and display (announce) a benefit corresponding to the location where the user's facial image was taken and the user's attributes. When the user has officially registered, the displayed benefit may be granted to the user.

[0033] The providing unit 12 may display information indicating the benefit on the installed terminal 20. The providing unit 12 may also display information indicating the benefit on the user terminal 30. When displaying the information on the user terminal 30, the providing unit 12 may, for example, send a uniform resource locator (URL) or the like of a website on which the information indicating the benefit is posted to the mobile phone number or email address entered on the installed terminal 20. When displaying the information on the user terminal 30, the providing unit 12 may, for example, read the URL or the like of the website on which the information indicating the benefit is posted as a two-dimensional code using the camera of the user terminal 30.

[0034] (Example of notifying a privilege based on the behavioral history of other users with the same attributes) When a first facial image is captured, the providing unit 12 may display information indicating a privilege that will be granted if the user performs official registration, based on the location where the first facial image was captured and the behavioral history of other users who have the same attributes as the user's attributes estimated based on the first facial image. This makes it possible to notify the user of, for example, information about a privilege that is appropriate for the user's attributes and that will be granted if the user registers (official registration). This can motivate the user to perform official registration.

[0035] In this case, the providing unit 12 may record, for example, the usage status of rewards granted to other users, such as points, electronic money, electronic product discount coupons, and electronic product exchange coupons that can be used in a specific area, as the behavioral history of the other users. The providing unit 12 may then extract rewards that have been used by other users with the same attributes as a specific user at a frequency equal to or greater than a threshold, and display (announce) them on the installed terminal 20 or the user terminal 30. When the user completes the registration, the rewards displayed to the user may be granted to the user. This allows, for example, rewards that are popular among users with a certain attribute to be announced to and granted to the user.

[0036] (Example of announcing a benefit according to a user's facial image capture history) When a first facial image is captured, the providing unit 12 may display information according to the date, time, and location when each facial image of the user taken before the first facial image was captured. This makes it possible to notify the user of, for example, information about a benefit that is appropriate for the user's facial image capture history and that will be granted when the user information is registered (full registration). This can motivate the user to complete full registration.

[0037] In this case, the providing unit 12 may, for example, refer to the face DB 501 to estimate the user's range of movement and length of stay. The providing unit 12 may then extract and display (announce) benefits that can be used at stores in other areas to a user who has stayed within a specific area for a specific number of days or more. When the user has officially registered, the displayed benefits may be granted to the user. This may, for example, motivate tourists who have stayed in the same area for a relatively long period of time to visit other areas.

[0038] <<Main Registration Process>> Next, an example of a process for registering (main registration) user information in the information processing device 10 according to the embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 6 and Fig. 7. Fig. 6 is a flowchart showing an example of a process for registering user information in the information processing device 10 according to the embodiment. Fig. 7 is a diagram showing an example of information recorded in the user DB 701 according to the embodiment. The process in Fig. 6 may be executed, for example, when a specific operation from a user is received at the user terminal 30.

[0039] In step S201, the acquisition unit 11 acquires the second face image of the user captured by the user terminal 30 and the user information (information about the user) input by the user from the user terminal 30. Note that the acquisition unit 11 may acquire the second face image of the user and the user information from the installed terminal 20 instead of the user terminal 30.

[0040] Next, the providing unit 12 registers information based on the second face image acquired by the acquiring unit 11, user information, etc. in the user DB 701 (step S202). In the example of Fig. 7, the user DB 701 stores a face ID, user information, and benefit information in association with the user ID.

[0041] The providing unit 12 may, for example, extract facial features based on the second facial image and acquire a face ID corresponding to the facial features from the face DB 501. Furthermore, the providing unit 12 may acquire a face ID from the face DB 501, for example, when the user information and facial features input by the user during main registration match (consistency) with the information and facial features input by the user during provisional registration. In this case, the providing unit 12 may, for example, extract from the face DB 501 one or more records in which at least one of the date of birth and telephone number included in the user information (second information) matches information used to identify the user (first information) recorded in the face DB 501. Then, the providing unit 12 may determine that the second facial image and the first facial image are facial images of the same user, for example, when the facial features extracted from the second facial image match the facial features extracted from the first facial image. In this case, the providing unit 12 may obtain, from the face DB 501, the face ID of a record that matches the facial feature amount extracted based on the second face image, from among the extracted records, for example.

[0042] The user information may include, for example, personal information such as the user's address, name, date of birth, email address, telephone number, SNS (Social Networking Service) account, etc. The benefit information may include, for example, points that can be used in a specific area, electronic money, electronic coupons for product discounts, electronic coupons for product exchange, etc.

[0043] Next, when the user registers information about the user using the user's second facial image, the providing unit 12 provides the user with a benefit corresponding to the fact that the first facial image was captured at a specific location (step S203). Here, the providing unit 12 may, for example, provide points, electronic money, electronic discount coupons, and electronic coupons for product exchange that can be used in a specific area surrounding the specific location as benefit information for the user in the user DB 701. This allows the user to purchase products, etc., using the benefits, such as the points, at specific stores, for example, surrounding the specific location. The providing unit 12 may also distribute electronic coupons, etc., to the user's email address or SNS account, for example. The operator of the information processing device 10 may, for example, utilize user information and trajectory data (movement data, behavior data) based on the date, time, and location at which each of the user's facial images was captured for marketing purposes.

[0044] (Example of granting a benefit of higher value than the benefit granted at the time of provisional registration by performing full registration) The providing unit 12 may grant a first benefit to the user when the first face image is captured. Then, when information about the user is registered by the user, the providing unit 12 may grant a second benefit different from the first benefit to the user. This, for example, can motivate the user to perform full registration after performing provisional registration. In this case, the second benefit may be, for example, a benefit of higher value than the first benefit. Furthermore, the second benefit may be a benefit using the user's personal information.

[0045] In this case, the providing unit 12 may, for example, provide the user with an electronic coupon for redeeming a product when the first face image is captured. This allows the user to use services such as discounts at stores even without completing full registration. When information about the user is registered by the user, the providing unit 12 may, for example, return at least a portion of the amount paid by the user at a store or the like to the user in the form of points for a cashless payment service.

[0046] (Example of Granting a Benefit According to the Period from Provisional Registration to Full Registration) The providing unit 12 may provide the user with a benefit according to the period from when the first face image was captured until information about the user was registered by the user. This may motivate the user to complete full registration as quickly as possible after provisional registration. In this case, the providing unit 12 may grant a benefit such as points as a reward (bonus) for prompt full registration to a user who completes full registration within a specific period (e.g., one day) from provisional registration. Furthermore, the providing unit 12 may grant a reward (bonus) for prompt full registration, with the value of the benefit increasing the shorter the period from provisional registration to full registration.

[0047] (Example of Providing a Stamp Rally by Taking a Facial Photograph) The providing unit 12 may provide a stamp rally by taking a facial photograph. This allows a user to participate in a stamp rally by taking a facial photograph, for example, even if the user has not registered in advance. In this case, the acquiring unit 11 may acquire a plurality of facial images taken at different dates and times by each installed terminal 20 installed in a different location. Then, the providing unit 12 may grant the user a benefit according to each location where the plurality of facial images were taken. In this case, the providing unit 12 may grant the user a benefit of higher value the more locations where the plurality of facial images were taken.

[0048] (Example of Providing a Facial Image Captured in a Provisional Registration State to a User) The providing unit 12 may provide a facial image captured in a provisional registration state to a user who has officially registered. This allows the user to obtain the facial image as a memento of a trip, for example. In this case, the providing unit 12 may provide the first facial image to the user when the user registers information about the user using the second facial image of the user. In this case, the first facial image may be added with metadata such as the date and time of capture and location information where the image was captured. Note that the metadata may be, for example, Exif (Exchangeable Image File Format) information.

[0049] <Modifications> The information processing device 10 may be a device contained in a single housing, but the information processing device 10 of the present disclosure is not limited to this. Each unit of the information processing device 10 may be realized, for example, by cloud computing configured with one or more computers. Furthermore, at least a portion of the processing of the information processing device 10 may be realized, for example, by an installed terminal 20. Furthermore, the information processing device 10 and the installed terminal 20 may be the same device. Such information processing devices 10 are also included in examples of the "information processing device" of the present disclosure.

[0050] Although the present disclosure has been described above with reference to the embodiments, the present disclosure is not limited to the above-described embodiments. Various modifications that can be understood by those skilled in the art can be made to the configuration and details of the present disclosure within the scope of the present disclosure. Furthermore, each embodiment can be combined with other embodiments as appropriate.
