Abstract
Description
[0001] DESCRIPTION
[0002] GAS DISCHARGE SYSTEM
[0003] Technical Field
[0004] The present invention relates to a system which enables the gas formed in the module located in the electric vehicle battery packs to be discharged without spreading into the pack.
[0005] Background of the Invention
[0006] Thermal dissipation in electric vehicle battery packs is a condition that occurs as a result of a rapid increase in the temperature in the battery, and uncontrolled continuation of this situation can lead to serious problems. Precautions should be taken for this problem and controlled gas discharge should be performed. Because thermal dissipation can cause the formation of gases as a result of high temperatures and energy losses. The accumulation of these gases can lead to increased pressure inside the battery and potentially explosions. In addition, overheating of the battery cells reduces battery performance and shortens its life. The accumulation of gases inside the module increases the risk of fire and can cause corrosion of metal parts.
[0007] For this reason, in order to overcome the above-mentioned deficiencies, there is a need for a new system which enables the gas formed in the modules in the battery packs to be discharged without spreading into the pack.
[0008] The Chinese patent document no. CN102931432, an application included in the state of the art, discloses a self-balancing lithium-ion battery. The invention subject to the said Chinese patent document describes a self-balancing lithium-ion battery. The lithium-ion battery comprises a lithium iron phosphate anode, a cathode, a membrane, electrolyte and a shell; the shell comprises a cover plate assembly and a shell body. With the adoption of the battery structure provided by the invention, the consistency, the reliability and the environment adaptability can be effectively improved, and the circular service life of the lithium-ion battery is effectively prolonged, and the large-current balance can be realized. The difficult problem of small balance current and poor reliability of the conventional protection board can be solved, and the self-balancing lithium-ion battery, especially the large-capacity lithium-ion battery, can be used in fields such as energy storage, rail traffic and electric cars.
[0009] Summary of the Invention
[0010] An object of the present invention is to realize a system which enables the gas formed in the module located in the electric vehicle battery packs to be discharged without spreading into the pack.
[0011] Another object of the present invention is to realize a system which enables the internal pressure to be kept under control and possible explosions to be prevented by discharging the gas formed inside the module in battery packs.
[0012] A further object of the present invention is to realize a system which reduces the possibility of fire due to gas accumulation inside the battery pack.
[0013] A further object of the present invention is to realize a system which enables metal corrosion caused by gas accumulation inside the battery pack to be eliminated.
