Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] A MULTIFUNCTIONAL BOX STRUCTURE FOR ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS

[0003] Technical Field

[0004] The invention relates to a multifunctional box structure for electrical products, designed to securely and orderly store electrical items such as fuses, relays, timers, wiring systems, etc. This box structure can be expanded to meet user needs while also providing ease of installation and assembly and ensuring secure fastening.

[0005] State of the Art

[0006] Multifunctional boxes used in the electrical and electronics sectors are fundamental components for work in these areas. These boxes are designed to protect, organize, and manage electrical and electronic circuits. However, a series of limitations and problems encountered in the current situation affect the functionality, suitability, and safety of these boxes.

[0007] The lack of standardization creates incompatibility among products from different manufacturers, complicating the installation of integrated systems and increasing costs. This situation makes it difficult to complete projects on time and within budget.

[0008] The problem of excessive crowding inside the box is especially seen in boxes containing dense electrical connections. This situation leads to heat management problems, which can cause electrical components to overheat and fail. Heat management is crucial for the reliability and longevity of electrical systems.

[0009] Accessibility is another issue with existing multifunctional boxes. Designs that do not provide easy access to components create significant difficulties during emergencies and routine maintenance. This prolongs maintenance processes and, consequently, increases operational costs.

[0010] The lack of modularity prevents users from customizing the system according to their needs. Fixed designs are inadequate in adapting to technological updates or system expansions. Modular structures facilitate such updates, making box configurations more flexible and durable.

[0011] Flexibility issues arise due to the limited adaptation of fixed box designs to specific usage scenarios. The absence of flexibility-enhancing features such as adjustable partition walls or mounting points restricts the ability of the boxes to respond to different needs. Adding flexible design features can solve this problem by allowing the boxes to adapt to various situations and cater to a wide range of applications.

[0012] Although there are known works in the state of the art aimed at addressing modularity and flexibility issues, it is observed that these works do not provide effective solutions to safety, accessibility, and crowding problems alongside modularity and flexibility.

[0013] These deficiencies limit the use of multifunctional boxes used in the electrical and electronics sectors. They have a particularly negative impact on the safety, efficiency, and compatibility of electrical distribution systems. Therefore, it is important to adopt a careful approach in the design and use of these boxes and to carefully evaluate needs.

[0014] In research related to the state of the art, the utility model numbered 2010 / 03384 encountered describes an electrical panel with a modular structure. The summary of the said utility model is as follows: "The invention relates to electrical panels in which electrical installation elements are positioned, comprising contact steps formed on the bottom sheet (14), side surfaces (16) fixed by said contact steps (15), and mounting folds (17) that enable the upper ceiling (11) to overlap and be fixed on the side surfaces (16)."

[0015] However, while the utility model numbered 2010 / 03384 in the state of the art provides a solution to the problem of multiplying fuse boxes as explained above, it does so with limited capacity. The said fuse box provides stability with contact steps within a fixed frame. Since the frame of the said fuse box is designed as a monolithic structure, its expansion capability is limited, and it does not provide a solution to the increase in storage and logistics costs when there is a need for products with higher capacity. Additionally, it does not address safety issues that may arise when multiple modules need to be fixed.

[0016] In research related to the state of the art, the utility model numbered 2014 / 06014 encountered describes a modular electrical panel casing for ensuring the safety and control of electricity, comprising a panel bottom upper depth element forming two successive edges parallel to the ground at the said junction point, a panel upright perpendicular to the said junction point, and a panel outer corner mounting element and panel inner corner mounting element connecting the panel bottom upper depth element and the panel upright without any welding work.

[0017] The purpose of the said invention is to develop an electrical panel structure that includes a corner for electrical panels without welding work and aimed at increasing transport and assembly strength. As explained in the related description, the invention is a casing structure for electrical panels, i.e., fuse boxes, that can be assembled with modularity through panel uprights, bottom upper depth elements, and inner and outer corner mounting elements. The invention does not provide a solution to the safety problem in the expandable fuse boxes described above.

[0018] Despite the solutions that can be summarized as the known state of the art described above, this invention, developed differently from the known state of the art, offers flexibility and modularity with fastening, assembly, and internal box arrangement solutions and the possibility of combining multiple boxes, while also providing solutions to issues such as safety, cost advantage, storage, and shipping ease.

[0019] Purpose of the Invention

[0020] The primary purpose of the invention, a multifunctional box structure for electrical products designed based on the known state of the art, is to prioritize user safety during the assembly, disassembly, and use of the box while offering modularity and flexibility with specially designed elements such as the frame, cover, base part, base joining part, and frame joining part.

[0021] Another purpose of the invention is that, since the product subject to the invention is modular and flexible, the assembly, fastening, and organizing parts can be stored separately and shipped according to the user's demand and need. This provides an advantage in storage by reducing the number of products to be stored.

[0022] Another purpose of the invention is that the base joining part, terminal, and base cover elements, which ensure the integration of the entire structure thanks to the mounting bosses on the base part, can be integrated with each other in one go without the need for any screwing, thus offering a robust and integrated structure.

[0023] Another purpose of the invention is to ensure the safety of the entire structure and to prevent hazards such as falling or slipping during product disassembly by including surface mounting elements such as the mounting pin, mounting spring, mounting part, and surface holding tabs in cases where a single base part is mounted on surfaces such as drywall, metal, or wood. These elements allow the product to be securely mounted on various surfaces and ensure the same safety conditions during disassembly. Another advantage of this mounting system is that it provides the same safety standards on every surface and weight regardless of the product size. Another purpose of the invention, when the base part is made of metal, is to prevent the live ends of the connection cables of the products placed inside the box from contacting the user and to prevent the risk of electric shock by having screw slots on the base part compatible with the positions of the mounting bosses to which the plastic inner frame, designed for insulation, is fixed. This structure of the inner frame ensures both user safety and the security of the fastening inside the product.

[0024] Another purpose of the invention is to provide an economical and secure connection by ensuring the connection of the inner frame and the inner frame connection part to each other and to the base part using special tabs or screwing methods when multiple base parts need to be connected.

[0025] Another purpose of the invention is to offer a secure and economical solution by ensuring a firm connection of at least two base parts without the need for screwing, using the special tabs designed for the vertical base joining part, the special tabs on the base part, the specially prepared rails for the vertical base joining part according to the edge thicknesses of the base part, and the vertical base joining part mounting boss slots compatible with the mounting bosses on the base part.

[0026] Another purpose of the invention is to ensure a secure connection of the terminal to the base part with mounting bosses that include tabs to prevent the terminal from falling once attached, thus securely connecting the terminal to the base part and ensuring it does not detach under any circumstances.

[0027] Another purpose of the invention is to ensure the organization and flexibility within the box after assembling parts such as the base and cover. To this end, the cable holder ensures that the cables inside the box are gathered at the base edges and, with its flexible structure, provides room for movement for products placed inside the box by adjusting to the size of the products. This feature contributes to the safety and flexibility of the entire structure by preventing excessive compression inside the product.

[0028] Another purpose of the invention is to provide a locking function to the upper edge of the cable holder, having the upper edge in two parts, with one part extending from the back to the center in a C-shaped lock slot and the locking end extending from the front to the back containing upper and lower tabs that fit into this lock slot. Additionally, the spring structure at the back of the cable holder secures the cable holder to the base part, preventing it from easily falling off and detaching from the base. This allows the user to easily make adjustments related to the cables inside the box without needing to remove the product or detach the cable holder from the base. This feature offers both flexibility and safety advantages to customers.

[0029] In line with the objective mentioned in the previous paragraph to ensure organization and flexibility inside the box, the DIN rail mounting slot inside the box is at least three-stepped to adapt to customer needs when the size of the DIN rail needs to be changed.

[0030] Another purpose of the invention is to solve the problem of the logo being upside down when the product cover is opened by designing the logo to rotate 360 degrees to adapt to the mounting direction of the cover when mounted on the right or left side to facilitate opening with the right or left hand according to customer needs.

[0031] Another purpose of the invention is to allow the cover to open up to 130 degrees without difficulty and prevent it from slamming back when fully opened, depending on the surface's unevenness, with a hinge containing at least two connection tabs and a spring slot positioned at the bottom end of the T-shape to ensure the cover is connected to the frame.

[0109] 110.2. Break Window Detailed Description of the Invention:

[0110] The base part (10) is the most fundamental part of the multifunctional box subject of the invention used for electrical products, designed to securely and robustly interconnect the other main elements, namely the base cover (50), the cover (40), the vertical base connection part (60), the horizontal base connection part (60.7), the inner frame (20), the terminal (70), the DIN rail (80), and the cable holding part (90). The base part (10) is suitable for mounting on surfaces such as drywall, wood, metal, etc., either flush-mounted or surfacemounted.

[0111] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the base part (10) is fixed to the surface mounting slot (10.7) designed to fit the mounting pin (100) with the mounting part (100.2) and secured to surfaces of various thicknesses and characteristics like wood, drywall, metal, etc., with the securing spring (100.1) connected to the mounting pin securing end (100.3) of the mounting pin (100). The securing spring (100.1) connected to the mounting pin securing end (100.3) is designed to prevent any sudden drop, slip, etc., that may occur during the disassembly of the base part (10), and is strong and robust enough to carry the weight of the cover (40), the cover inner frame (40.6), and the electrical products placed inside the box along with the base part (10). This securing method ensures that the electrical products box (A) can be securely mounted on many surfaces. Once the base part (10), the base part surface mounting slots (10.7), the mounting pin (100), the mounting part (100.2), the securing spring (100.1), and the surface holding tabs designed in a tabbed structure are secured to the desired surface, first the terminal (70) is aligned so that the terminal mounting socket joining slot (70.1) aligns with the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10), and the terminal mounting socket securing tabs (70.2) are inserted into the mounting socket tab slots (10.2) on the mounting socket (10.1) and secured to the base part (10). To keep the product to be placed inside the electrical products box (A) stable, the DIN rail (80) is screwed into the DIN rail base part mounting screw hole (80.1) located in the middle of the base part (10). The DIN rail mounting slot (10.4) is designed in stages and can be adjusted and screwed into any of the stages of the staged DIN rail mounting slot (10.4) according to customer needs and the size of the product to be placed inside the electrical products box (A). The cable holding part (90) is fixed to the cable holding part mounting rail (10.5) on the base part (10) with plastic springs (90.1) located at the top and bottom edges of the back of the cable holding part (90) before the product to be placed inside the electrical products box (A) is secured via the DIN rail (80). These plastic springs (90.1) are designed to ensure that the cable holding part (90) is tightly connected to the cable holding part mounting rail (10.05) and does not easily fall off unless extra force is applied to remove it. Once the product is secured inside the electrical products box (A), after the wiring process, the cables can be placed inside the cable holding part (90) by separating the locking end (90.3) from the lock slot (90.2) to keep the cables organized and together. The locking end (90.3) is connected to the lock slot (90.2) to securely and neatly fix the cables inside the box, ensuring that they remain on the sides. To close the bottom and top parts of the base part (10), after the terminal (70) is connected to the mounting bosses (10.1), the base cover mounting boss connection slot (50.1) is aligned with the mounting bosses (10.1) and secured to the base part (10). The base cover (50) is screwed into the base part (10) from the base part connection screw hole (50.2).

[0112] In another embodiment of the invention, when the base part (10) is metal, the plastic inner frame (20), used to provide insulation and prevent the risk of electric shock by preventing live cable ends from contacting the metal, is aligned and screwed into the mounting boss screw holes (20.1) of the inner frame, which align with the mounting boss screw holes (10.3) on the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10). When multiple base parts (10) need to be used, the inner frame (20) can be multiplied to correspond to the number of base parts (10) by securing the inner frame connection part mounting tab (20.2) to the inner frame connection part mounting tab slot (30.1).

[0113] In another embodiment of the invention, when the base part is plastic, the cover (40) and the cover inner frame (40.6) connected to the cover can be positioned on either the right or left side, containing a special T-shaped cover inner frame hinge tab slot (40.7) for connecting the tabs on the hinge (40.1) connected to the cover (40), and the cover inner frame hinge slot (40.10) for securing the cover inner frame (40.6). The hinge (40) connected to the cover (40) and the hinge spring (40.2) are connected to the cover inner frame hinge slot (40.10) on the cover inner frame (40.6).

[0114] In another preferred embodiment of the invention, the logo part (40.5), which connects to the cover (40), is mounted to the cover (40) via the logo connection tab (40.3) and the logo connection spring (40.4). This allows the logo part (40.5) to rotate 360 degrees to adjust according to the direction in which the cover (40) needs to open, whether from the left or right.

[0115] Another embodiment of the invention involves expanding the size of the electrical products box (A) by joining two or more base parts (10), preserving all the securing and mounting principles described in the previous embodiments. In this embodiment, one or more vertical base connection parts (60) are used to join at least two base parts (10) to create an electrical products box (A) containing at least two base parts (10). The vertical base connection part (60) contains at least two vertical base connection part tabs (60.1) designed to connect to the vertical base connection part tab slots (10.6) on the base part (10) to join at least two base parts (10) vertically. The vertical base connection part (60) also contains a vertical base connection part edge holding rail (60.3) designed to adjust according to the thickness of the base part and hold the right and left edges of the base parts to align and secure them. Additionally, the vertical base connection part (60) contains at least two vertical base connection part mounting boss slots (60.6) compatible with the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10). The vertical base connection part (60) first secures two base parts (10) to each other with the vertical base connection part edge holding rail (60.3) and slides downwards on the vertical base connection part rail (60.3), initially passing the vertical base connection part mounting boss slots (60.6) over the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10), and the vertical base connection part tabs (60.1) into the vertical base connection part tab slots (10.6) on the two base parts (10). After securing at least two base parts (10) and the vertical base connection part (60), the vertical base connection part is screwed into the base part (10) through the vertical base connection part screw connection slots (60.2) to secure at least two base parts (10) to each other. When two or more base parts (10) need to be secured with a vertical base connection part (60), the vertical base connection part (60) is passed through the mounting bosses (10.1) and secured to the base part (10) as explained. Then the terminal mounting socket joining slots (70.1) are passed through the mounting bosses (10.1), and the terminal mounting socket securing tabs (70.2) are inserted into the mounting socket tab slots (10.2) to secure them. Afterward, the base cover (50) is passed through the mounting bosses (10.1) with the base cover mounting boss connection slot (50.1). As in the previous embodiment, the DIN rail and cable holding parts are mounted on the base part. When at least two base parts are connected with at least two vertical base connection parts (60), a separator (110) is used to ensure the transition between the two base parts (10), if necessary. The separator (110) is connected to the separator tab slots (60.5) on the vertical base connection part (60) with the separator tabs (110.1) on the separator (110). Separator break windows (110.2) are used for cable transitions or for the installation of products such as sockets if necessary. When at least two base parts (10) are connected with at least two vertical base connection parts (60), the vertical base connection part cable transition tabs (60.4) on the upper and lower edges of the vertical base connection part ensure the orderly completion of the cabling processes between the two base parts (10). In this embodiment of the invention, at least two covers (40) and cover inner frames (40.6) connected to the cover (40) via hinges (40.1) can be used according to user needs. At least two covers (40), at least two joined base parts (10), and, depending on the need, one cover (40) compatible with the size of the joined base parts (10) or two covers (40) adjusted to match the size can be used. The number of covers (40) is determined entirely based on need.

[0116] In another embodiment of the invention, the electrical products box (A) can be expanded by joining base parts (10) side by side. The base parts (10) are joined with a horizontal base connection part (60.7). The horizontal base connection part (60.7) is the part that joins two base parts (10) aligned from the back.

[0117] In all preferred embodiments of the invention, the mounting bosses (10.1), mounting pins (100), and mounting parts (100.2) carry the mounting load of all connected parts and ensure the structural integrity of the entire assembly. Additionally, in two or more embodiments of the invention, the vertical base connection part (60) or horizontal base connection part (60.7) ensures that at least two bases remain together, securing the entire system robustly through the vertical base connection part tab (60.1) and vertical base connection part edge holding rail (60.3).

[0118] Figure 1: The base part (10), the fundamental part of the product subject of the invention, and the elements positioned on the base part (10) are shown. At least four mounting bosses (10.1) are positioned near the corners on the bottom and top edges of the base part (10). The staged DIN rail mounting slot (10.4) is positioned at the base of the base part (10) and centered to cover both corners of the base part (10). As seen in the figure, the staged DIN rail mounting slot (10.4) has three stages. The cable holding part mounting rail (10.5) is positioned in at least two places on both corners and near the upper and lower edges of the base part (10), with two cable holding part mounting rails (10.5) positioned parallel to each other.

[0121] (10.8) on the bottom and top edges of the base part (10), which allow the base part (10) to adhere to the surface and can also be used for cable transitions between two base parts (10).

[0122] Figure 1.2: A close-up sectional view of the mounting pin (100), the securing spring (100.1), and the mounting part (100.2) connected to the surface mounting slots (10.7) on the rear view of the base part (10).

[0123] Figure 1.3: As shown, to securely mount the base part (10) to the surface, the mounting pin (100) is first placed into the surface mounting slot (10.7), then the mounting part (100.2) is fixed to the surface mounting slot (10.7) from the rear of the base part (10), and finally, the securing spring (100.1) is attached to the end of the mounting pin (100) extending from the rear of the base part (10) and through the mounting part (100.2), securing it to the surface. This setup ensures the robustness of the base part (10) regardless of its size and weight. Figure 2: The assembly of the terminal (70), the DIN rail (80), the base covers (50), and the cable holding part (90) with the base part (10) is shown. Once the base part (10) is mounted to the surface, the DIN rail (80) is mounted to any of the three stages of the staged DIN rail mounting slot (10.4) as needed. Then, the cable holding parts (90) are fixed to the base part (10) via the cable holding part mounting rail (10.5) according to the need. The terminal (70) is secured to the mounting boss (10.1), and finally, the base covers (50) are secured to the mounting bosses (10.1) on the bottom and top edges of the base part (10), completing the bottom base.

[0124] Figure 2.1: The connection of the terminal (70) to the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10) is shown. The terminal (70) is secured with the terminal mounting boss securing tabs (70.2) positioned on the right and left corners of the terminal (70) into the mounting boss tab slots (10.2) on the mounting bosses (10.1). The locking of the terminal mounting boss securing tabs (70.2) into the mounting boss tab slots (10.2) is crucial for the stability and robustness of the entire structure.

[0125] Figure 2.2: A close-up view of the terminal (70) connected to the mounting boss (10.1) is shown. It is shown that the tabs on the terminal (70) are locked into the tab slots (10.2) on the mounting boss (10.1). This ensures that the terminal (70) does not easily detach from the mounting boss (10.1) and, thus, from the base part (10).

[0126] Figure 2.3: A perspective view of the cable holding part (90) is shown. As explained in Figure 2, the cable holding part (90) is mounted to the cable holding mounting rail (10.5) on the base part (10). As seen in Figure 2.3, the plastic spring (90.1) at the back of the cable holding part (90) is designed to securely mount the cable holding part (90) to the cable holding part mounting rail (10.5) and to ensure it stays firmly in place. Additionally, the lock slot (90.2) and the locking end (90.3) at the top edge of the cable holding part (90) allow the cables to be easily secured inside the cable holding part (90) and easily removed when necessary by opening the top. The locking function also ensures that the cables remain securely in place when there is no external intervention.

[0127] Figure 3: The combination of the logo part (40.5), the hinge (40.1), the cover (40), the cover inner frame (40.6), and the base part (10) with all elements is shown. In a single-piece electrical products box (A) setup, after placing the DIN rail (80), the terminal (70), the base covers (50), and the cable holding parts (90), the cover (40) is another important element for completing the electrical products box (A) setup. The exploded view in Figure 3 shows the cover (40) designed for use when the base part (10) is plastic. In this state, the cover inner frame (40.6) is connected to the cover (40) with the hinge (40.1) and to the cover inner frame (40.6) with the cover inner frame hinge slots (40.10) and the hinge spring (40.2). The cover inner frame retention tabs (40.8) ensure the opening and closing functions of the cover (40) and prevent it from opening when no force is applied. Additionally, the logo part (40.5) is connected to the cover (40) with the logo connection tab (40.3) and the logo connection spring (40.4) to match the opening direction of the cover (40). Once the cover (40) is completed with the cover inner frame (40.6) as shown in Figure 3, the cover inner frame

[0128] (40.6) is connected to the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10) with the cover inner frame mounting slots (40.9) positioned to match the location of the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10).

[0129] Figure 3.1: The view of the cover (40) mounted with the cover inner frame (40.6) to the base part (10) and the opened view of the cover (40) showing the completed setup of the single base part (10) electrical products box (A) is shown. The cover inner frame retention tabs (40.8) and the cover inner frame mounting slots (40.9) are also present in the opened state of the cover (40).

[0130] Figure 4: The perspective view of two base parts (10) joined by a vertical base connection part (60) and a separator (110) is shown. When two base parts (10) need to be joined, this is done by aligning the mounting bosses (10.1) on any edge of the two base parts (10) with each other and securing the vertical base connection part (60) on the mounting boss slots

[0131] (60.6) and the vertical base connection part tongue (60.1) on the base part (10) in the vertical base connection part tongue slot (60.2). In some cases, two base parts (10) need to be both joined and also have a separation point between them. In these cases, the separator (110) can be fixed onto the vertical base connection part (60). This combination is also shown in Figure 4. The separator (110) is secured with the separator tongue (110.1) on the separator (110) into the separator tongue slots (60.5) on the vertical base connection part (60). Additionally, the different-sized square shapes on the separator (110) are called separator break windows (110.2) and contribute to the connection between the two base parts (10) when necessary.

[0132] Figure 4.1: The view of two base parts (10) joined with the vertical base connection part (60) and the separator (110) is shown. The separator (110) is connected to the vertical base connection part (60) via the separator tongue slots (60.5) and the vertical base connection part tongue (60.1) to the base part (10).

[0133] Figure 4.2: The sectional view of the vertical base connection part (60) is shown. The vertical base connection part mounting boss slot (60.6) and the vertical base connection part tongue (60.1) used to mount to the base part (10), and the separator tongue slots (60.5) for connecting the separator (110) to the vertical base connection part (60) when needed, and the base (60.2) of the vertical base connection part (60) are shown. Additionally, a section of the vertical base connection part cable transition tabs (60.4) positioned on the top and bottom edges to ensure orderly cable transitions between the base parts is shown.

[0134] Figure 4.3: The bottom view of the vertical base connection part (60) is shown. The vertical base connection part edge holding rail (60.3) and the vertical base connection part screw connection slot (60.2) to align and secure the two side edges of the base parts (10) are seen.

[0135] Figure 4.4: The top perspective view of the vertical base connection part (60) is shown. The vertical base connection part cable transition tabs (60.4) positioned on the top and bottom edges are fully visible. Additionally, the vertical base connection part tongue (60.1) and the separator tongue slots (60.5) are clearly shown.

[0136] Figure 5: The perspective view of the combination of elements such as the cover (40), the base cover (50), the vertical base connection part (60), the DIN rail (80), the terminal (70), the cable holding part (90), and the separator (110) when two base parts (10) are joined is shown.

[0137] Figure 5.1: The perspective view of the combination of elements such as the cover (40), the base cover (50), the vertical base connection part (60) when more than two base parts (10) are joined is shown. When more than two base parts (10) are joined, the vertical base connection part (60) is formed as the number of base parts (10) minus one, and the number of base covers (50) remains constant at two in all cases.

[0138] Figure 6: The perspective view of the inner frame (20) and the inner frame connection part (30) when two base parts (10) are joined is shown. The inner frame (20) and the inner frame connection part (30) here are separate from the cover (40) and are designed to be used when the base part (10) is metal.

[0139] Figure 6.1: The view of the inner frames (20) joined by the inner frame connection part (30) and the inner frame (20) connected to the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10) with the inner frame mounting boss screw slot (20.1) aligned with the mounting bosses (10.1) on the base part (10) when two base parts (10) are joined is shown. This joining process is done by screwing.

[0140] Figure 7: The horizontal joining of two base parts (10) is shown.

[0141] Figure 7.1: In cases where two base parts (10) need to be joined, the front and inner structure is preserved exactly as described in the previous figures. However, in this case, the joining is done by placing the two base parts (10) side by side and joining them from the back of the base part with the horizontal base connection part (60.7).

[0142] Figure 7.2: The perspective view of the two base parts (10) and the cover (40) joined horizontally with the horizontal base connection part (60.7) from the back is shown.
