Description

MASK FOR BRIGHTENING KERATIN MATERIALSTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a mask for brightening keratin materials and a non-therapeutic process for brightening keratin materials with said mask.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] The tones of human skin depend on various factors, it is mainly determined by the nature and the concentration of melanin produced by melanocytes. Melanocytes are specialized cells which synthesize melanin by means of specific organelles, melanosomes. In addition, at various times in their life, certain individuals experience the appearance of spots on the skin and more especially on the hands, which give the skin heterogeneity.

[0003] Efforts have been made to develop cosmetic products for brightening the skin.

[0004] However, seldom products in the market are satisfying, in particular in terms of instant brightening of the skin.

[0005] Therefore, there is still a need for cosmetic products for brightening the skin, which can deliver the skin improved brightening effect.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] It is an object of the present invention to develop a cosmetic product for brightening keratin materials, which can deliver the keratin materials improved brightening effect.

[0007] Thus, according to a first aspect, the present invention provides a mask, preferably for brightening keratin materials, comprising:

[0008] A) a mask tissue, and

[0009] B) a composition, comprising:

[0010] a) at least one mica and / or synthetic fluorphlogopite;

[0011] b) alginic acid and / or alginates; and

[0012] c) at least one compound selected from xanthan gum, sclerotium gum, and hydroxylated diphenylmethane derivatives.

[0013] According to a second aspect, the present invention also provides a non-therapeutic process for brightening keratin materials, comprising applying the mask according to the present invention on the keratin materials.

[0014] The inventors found that the mask of the present invention can deliver keratin materials improved brightening effect.

[0015] Other subjects and characteristics, aspects and advantages of the present invention will be set forth in the description that follows, and in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the present invention.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0016] As used herein, unless otherwise indicated, the limits of a range of values are included within this range, in particular in the expressions "between…and…" and "from…to…” .

[0017] As used herein, the term “comprising” is to be interpreted as encompassing all specifically mentioned features as well as optional, additional, unspecified ones.

[0029] Mask tissue

[0030] The mask according to the present invention comprises a mask tissue.

[0031] Preferably, the mask tissue is a water-insoluble mask tissue.

[0032] For the purpose of the present invention, the term “water-insoluble mask tissue” means that the mask tissue is not dissolvable in water, e.g., having a solubility of less than 0.01g / 100g of water or only slightly soluble in water, e.g., having a solubility of  less than 0.5g / 100g of water, nor does it break apart in the bulk state upon immersion in water.

[0048] The term "mean size" means the median volume size D

[0050] representing the maximum size of 50%by volume of the particles. The sizes are measured by static light scattering using a commercial MasterSizer 3000 particle size analyser from Malvern,  which makes it possible to determine the particle size distribution of all the particles over a wide range which may extend from 0.01μm to 1000μm. The data are processed on the basis of the standard Mie scattering theory. This theory is the most suitable for size distributions ranging from submicron to multimicron; it allows an "effective" particle diameter to be determined.

[0049] Preferably, the composition for the mask according to the present invention comprises one or more of:

[0072] Sclerotium gum is a polysaccharide of microbial origin produced by a fungus of sclerotium type, in particular sclerotium rolfsii. It is a polysaccharide constituted solely of glucose units.

[0073] As Examples for commercial products of sclerotium gum useful in the composition for the mask according to the present invention, mention can be made of the products sold under the name Actigum CS, in particular Actigum CS 11 by the company Sanofi Bio Industries, and under the name Amigum or Amigel by the company Alban Muller International.

[0074] In some preferred embodiments, the composition for the mask according to the present invention comprise sclerotium gum.

[0075] In some preferred embodiments, the composition for the mask according to the present invention comprise xanthan gum and sclerotium gum.

[0076] If presents, advantageously, xanthan gum and / or sclerotium gum is present in the composition for the mask according to the present invention in an amount ranging from 0.001wt. %to 10wt. %, preferably from 0.002wt. %to 3wt. %, more preferably from 0.003 wt. %to 1wt. %, even more preferably from 0.005wt. %to 0.5wt. %, most preferably from 0.01wt. %to 0.2wt. %, relative to the total weight of the composition.

[0168] Evaluation:

[0169] The brightening effect of each composition prepared above was evaluated with an in vitro glossmeter measurement as follows.

[0170] Each composition was applied on the black and white card to form a 100μm thick film with a coating machine. The card was placed in an oven at 37℃for 24hours. Then a point from the white card was measured once and the data obtained at 60°by the glossmeter was recorded as brightening percentage.

[0171] The brightening percentage delivered by each composition of invention examples 1-2 and comparative examples 1-2 were summarized in Table 3.

[0172] Table 3
