Conventional blankets tend to vary primarily in their shape, size, thickness, and texture.

[0005] Implementations of the present disclosure comprise systems and methods configured to provide a scent-based sensory fabric to an end-user for use in everyday life or within therapeutic, medical, wellness, or otherwise health-focused processes. The present disclosure can include a fabric layer having one or more enclosures configured to receive a removable fragrance provider. The fragrance providers can be configured to impart a fragrance into the fabric while allowing a user to control the fragrance and intensity.
[0006] For example, in at least one implementation, a fragrance sensory fabric system can include a fabric layer having a length and a width and a first enclosure. [0027] For example, common scents or fragrances used by some in a medicinal, therapeutic, wellness, or health-focused environment can include, but are not limited to, scents such as eucalyptus, lavender, chamomile, peppermint, and citrus. Scents like lavender or chamomile may be used to soothe anxiety. These can be categorically described as soothing fragrances. Other scents, such as peppermint or citrus, can, however, boost energy and focus. These scents can be categorically described as enhancers. According to the present disclosure, a first user may have a desired therapeutic goal of increasing or enhancing their energy, in which case they can select an enhancing fragrance. As used herein, “therapeutic goal” refers to a desired physical, mental, or emotional state of a user that can be promoted, supported, or facilitated through sensory stimulation, including but not limited to relaxation, improved sleep quality, stress reduction, mood enhancement, increased focus, or respiratory comfort.
[0028] Implementations of the present disclosure can include therapeutic methods for treating these therapeutic goals. These methods can include creating specific environments that are conducive to healing and emotional balance through the use of smell and physical touch. For individuals dealing with trauma or stress, implementations of the present disclosure can evoke positive memories or feelings of comfort. In alternative or additional implementations, specific scents can aid in accelerating the perception of a healing process, particularly those used to clear nasal cavities, such as in the case of a cold.
[0029] A second user may also have a therapeutic goal of increasing their energy; however, they may have a dislike or allergy related to citrus fragrances. The present disclosure provides for the user to identify this boundary and select a different enhancing fragrance (i.e., peppermint or a similar fragrance). As used herein, “boundaries” refers to limits or exclusions established for fragrance selection based on a user’s sensitivities, allergies, dislikes, or other personal restrictions. Boundaries can include, for example, avoiding fragrance categories or specific fragrance compounds that may cause allergic reactions, discomfort, or user aversion, thereby narrowing the set of applicable fragrances or fragrance categories available for addressing the user’s therapeutic goal. Even still, a third user may prefer no scent at all, which means the third user can still benefit from the physical characteristics of the blanket and fabric systems of the present disclosure without a fragrance provider. Thus, there can be a wide variability among users.

[0031] Figure 1A illustrates an exemplary embodiment of a fragrance sensory blanket system 100a. As illustrated, the fragrance sensory blanket system 100a comprises at least a blanket 110a and a fragrance provider 130a. The blanket system I l la can include at least one blanket 110a (or fabric layer) and at least one enclosure 120a with an aperture 121a. The enclosure 120a can be sized to allow the insertion or installation of a fragrance provider 130a. Enclosure 120a can further include a sealing mechanism such as a zipper, hook-and-loop strip, magnets, or similar mechanisms to retain the fragrance provider 130a inside the enclosure 120a. As used herein, the term “blanket” refers to a section or whole portion of a fabric or material generally designed to provide insulation, cushion, or comfort formed from any one of the following materials or combinations.

In at least one embodiment, enclosure 120a can be embedded into the blanket 110a, such as along one of the edges of blanket 110a (see Figure 1C). As shown in Figure 1A, enclosure 120a can be relatively large in size compared to the overall size of blanket 110a. This larger size can result in a larger internal volume and allow a user to install more than one fragrance provider 130a. Thus, a user can install multiple fragrance providers 130 of the same or different types and scents. For example, a user can install two or more fragrance providers 130 into a single enclosure 120 to combine or increase the overall intensity of the fragrance sensory blanket system 100. The enclosure 120a can define an internal volume. In at least one embodiment, enclosure 120a may be smaller than illustrated. [0034] Enclosure 120a can also be made from a variety of materials. A manufacturer can select a material of enclosure 120a based on various factors to ensure the fragrance sensory system 100a provides the desired fragrance intensity. In some embodiments, enclosure 120a can be a solid or micro-porous material, such as a fabric or composite. In another embodiment, enclosure 120a can be a macro-porous material such as a mesh, net, or other highly permeable material. In any given embodiment, the material of enclosure 120a can be nonpermeable, semi-permeable, or highly permeable to fragrances. In an embodiment where a manufacturer embeds enclosure 120a into the material of blanket 110a, such that enclosure 120a is a cavity of blanket 110a, the enclosure can be formed or defined by the material of the blanket 110a.
[0035] Figure 1A illustrates that enclosure 120a can include an aperture 121a, which can be configured to provide user access to the internal volume of enclosure 120a. Aperture 121a can be made of material similar to blanket 110a or enclosure 120a (e.g., aperture 121a can be a seam or sewn edge). A manufacturer can choose to construct aperture 121a from an elastic or inelastic material to control the ability of aperture 121a to open or close. This can advantageously be used to ensure that aperture 121a retains and contains the contents of enclosure 120a.
[0036] Blanket 110a of the fragrance sensory blanket system 100a can have a filling within one or more internal volumes. This filling can include but is not limited to down, feather, wool, cotton, polyester fibers, microfiber, silk, fleece, bamboo fibers, memory foam, gel-infused fibers, hemp fibers, synthetic down, weighted beads, flannel, sherpa fleece, recycled fibers, and the like. In one such embodiment, the filling of blanket 110a is chosen by the manufacturer for a specific therapeutic or health-related reason. Alternatively or additionally, the filling of blanket 110a can provide fragrance- accepting or fragrance-rejecting material. For purposes of this disclosure, a “fragrance-accepting” material refers to a filling or fabric that is porous, absorbent, or otherwise configured to- Page 7 - Docket No. 23939.3Bretain, hold, or gradually release an infused fragrance. Examples include cotton, bamboo fibers, memory foam, microfiber, wool, or recycled fibers, each of which can temporarily absorb and then emit aromatic compounds. By contrast, a “fragrance-rejecting” material refers to a filling or fabric that resists fragrance retention, which can be less absorbent and thereby minimize fragrance transfer. A manufacturer can selectively combine fragranceaccepting and fragrance-rejecting materials within a single blanket to control the intensity, duration, or localization of fragrance release during use. In one embodiment, enclosure 120a includes no filling.
[0037] Figure 1A also shows fragrance provider 130a. Though Figure 1A illustrates fragrance provider 130a as a single element, in at least one embodiment, fragrance provider 130a can be a plurality of the herein-disclosed fragrance providers. A manufacturer can construct a fragrance provider 130a that can be made from a fragranceaccepting material. Specifically, fragrance provider 130a can be well-suited for retaining a fragrance, such as scented oil, including but not limited to cotton, wool, linen, felt, sponge, bamboo fabric, microfiber, leather, cork, hemp, paper, clay, gel, resin, porous ceramics, natural wood, charcoal, sandstone, silk, and cellulose fiber. In one embodiment, fragrance provider 130a can be a pouch or sachet filled with a fragrance- accepting material, such as the fragrance objects shown in Figures 4C and 4D. In another embodiment, fragrance provider 130a can be a scented card or object (see Figures 4A and 4B). In one embodiment, fragrance provider 130a is sized and configured to fit into and be retained by enclosure 120a and aperture 121a. In another embodiment, fragrance provider 130a is of a general or universal size and dimension, such that it can fit and be retained in a variety of enclosure sizes and dimensions.

One or more fragrances can comprise a fragrance category, such as soothing, energizing, enhancing, or healing. A manufacturer may select any combination of the above-described scents or other additional or alternative desired scents for simultaneous use in a single fragrance provider or fragrance object.
[0039] Figure IB illustrates another embodiment of a fragrance sensory blanket system 100b, wherein a plurality of enclosures 120b exist within the system. Fragrance sensory blanket system 100b can have substantially similar qualities and characteristics to fragrance sensory blanket system 100a. However, the fragrance sensory blanket system 100b can have a plurality of enclosures 120b rather than a singular enclosure 120a. As illustrated, enclosures 120b can be identical in size and dimension. In another embodiment, enclosures 120b can vary in size and dimension from one another. Thus, a fragrance sensory blanket system of the present disclosure is not limited to a single style or configuration of enclosures, but can instead incorporate a variety of enclosure types to achieve different functional or aesthetic outcomes. Furthermore, by providing multiple enclosure options, a manufacturer can tailor the system to accommodate user preferences, therapeutic goals, or material limitations.

For example, Figure 1C shows enclosure layout 140, illustrating the varied locations (indicated by the ellipses) wherein one or more enclosures can be placed. Although enclosure layout 140 illustrates a grid-like pattern, it can be representative of a manufacturer placing enclosures in any arrangement across the face 112 (or the opposing face) of blanket 110c or the side edges 114 of blanket 110c.

Enclosure 220 can be an internal volume, at least in part, of the blanket 210. A manufacturer can construct a blanket 210 in several ways. In one example, two fabric layers can be sewn together to create an inner volume that can function as a large enclosure 220. By incorporating these variable duration ranges, the kit enables end users or care providers to tailor fragrance exposure to align with individual comfort levels, fragrance boundaries (such as allergies or sensitivities), and therapeutic objectives.

A fragrance sensory fabric system comprising: a fabric layer having a length and a width; a first enclosure, the first enclosure having a first aperture embedded into the fabric layer, the first enclosure providing a first internal volume inside the fabric layer; a first sealing mechanism positioned at the aperture, the first sealing mechanism having an open configuration and a closed configuration, the first sealing mechanism configured to prevent ingress and / or egress into the first enclosure in the closed configuration; and a fragrance provider, the fragrance provider exhibiting a fragrance, wherein the fragrance provider is positioned within the first enclosure.
2. The fragrance sensory fabric system of claim 1 , wherein: the fabric layer comprises a first side edge; and the first aperture is positioned to pass through the first side edge.
3. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 2, wherein: the fabric layer further comprises an additional internal volume that is distinct from the first internal volume, and the internal volume retains a filling material.

The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 3, further comprising: a plurality of additional enclosures embedded into the fabric layer, wherein the plurality of additional enclosures each includes an aperture and a sealing mechanism; and a plurality of additional fragrance providers, wherein each of the plurality of additional fragrance providers is positioned within one of the plurality of additional enclosures.

6. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 5, wherein the fragrance provider comprises a fragrance- accepting material that is infused with the fragrance.
7. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 6, wherein the first enclosure has a length that is less than one quarter of the length of the fabric layer and a width that is less than one quarter the width of the fabric layer.
8. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 7, wherein the first enclosure comprises only the first aperture and no additional apertures.
9. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 8, wherein the fragrance provider is a fabric sachet that defines an inner volume.
10. The fragrance sensory fabric system of claim 9, wherein the fragrance provider includes one or more fragrance objects retained within the inner volume.
11. The fragrance sensory fabric system of claim 10, wherein one or more fragrance objects are resin beads.
12. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 11, wherein the fragrance provider is removable from the enclosure.
13. The fragrance sensory fabric system as recited in any one of claims 1 through 12, wherein the fragrance sensory fabric system is a blanket, a pillowcase, or a scarf.
14. A method for preparing a fragrance sensory blanket system comprising: providing a blanket, the blanket having an enclosure, the enclosure having an aperture and a sealing mechanism; installing a first fragrance provider into the enclosure through the aperture; securing the first fragrance provider inside the enclosure by actuating the sealing mechanism; and folding or rolling the blanket for a duration of time to allow the first fragrance provider to emit a fragrance into a material of the blanket.
15. The method of claim 14, further wherein the duration of time is at least 10 minutes.
16. A therapeutic method for treating a therapeutic goal of a user using a fabric layer, comprising: identifying a therapeutic goal of the user;- Page 23 - Docket No. 23939.3Bidentifying one or more fragrance categories that correspond to the therapeutic goal; identifying a first fragrance within the one or more fragrance categories that correspond to the therapeutic goal; inserting a fragrance provider into an enclosure of a fabric layer, the fragrance provider exhibiting the first fragrance; and treat the therapeutic goal through an application of the fabric layer to the user for a duration.
17. The method of claim 16, further comprising identifying one or more boundaries, the one or more boundaries including allergies or personal use requirements for comfort, wherein: the one or more boundaries remove either (i) one or more fragrance categories, or (ii) fragrances within the one or more fragrance categories that are chosen from.
18. The method as recited in any one of claims 16 through 17, wherein the therapeutic goal comprises at least one of relaxation, improved sleep quality, anxiety reduction, depression reduction, stress reduction, enhanced focus, or increased energy.
19. The method as recited in any one of claims 16 through 18, wherein the duration is no more than 30 minutes, no more than 20 minutes, no more than 15 minutes, no more than 10 minutes, or no more than 5 minutes.
