Description

COMPOSITION FOR DYEING KERATIN FIBERSTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a composition. In particular, the present invention relates to a composition for dyeing keratin fibers. The present invention also relates to a process for dyeing keratin fibers.BACKGROUND ART

[0002] In the field of dyeing keratin fibers, such as hair, there is a continuous pursuit of improved product performance. It is known that the appearance of metal ions (e.g. Fe, Cu, etc. ) will destabilize keratin structures by binding with naked positive charges in protein chain, resulting in hair damage, so the hair strength and smoothness are weakened.

[0003] To address this challenge, various approaches have been explored in the art. Some hair dyeing and bleaching products contain chelating agents to remove metal ions so that the hair can regain healthy conditions. However, some chelating agents are not efficient, and some chelating agents have limited solubility which shows limitation in formulation especially for manufacturing process.

[0004] Thus, it is desired that products for dyeing the hair comprises more efficient chelating agents, which can be easily formulated into the products, and the products can protect the hair from damage caused by metal ions.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0005] An object of the present invention is thus to develop compositions for dyeing keratin materials, which comprises more efficient chelating agents that can be easily formulated into the compositions, and which can protect the keratin materials from damage caused by metal ions.

[0009] (iii) at least one oxidative dye; and

[0010] (iv) at least one alkaline agent.

[0011] The inventors have found that the composition according to the present invention can be easily formulated and can protect keratin materials from damage caused by metal ions, thus substantially maintaining the integrity of the cuticle of the keratin materials.

[0012] According to a second aspect, the present invention provides a process for dyeing keratin fibers comprising applying the composition according to the present invention onto the keratin fibers.
