Patent claims:

Device (1-1c) for tempering food intended for consumption, comprising a trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c) for receiving food intended for consumption or dishes and a receiving device (3-3b) for a tempering agent (4-4b) arranged below the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c), characterized in that the receiving device (3-3b) has wall sections (5-5c; 6-6c) on opposite sides of the tempering device, which define a space (7-7b) for receiving the tempering agent (4-4b), wherein an outer surface (8-8b) of the wall sections (5-5c; 6-6c) faces a base (9-9b) on which the tempering device can be placed during intended use.

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the temperature control device (1-1c) is formed in one piece and is made of a plastic by injection molding.

3. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the receiving device (3-3b) is designed in the form of a slide-in compartment into which the temperature control medium (4-4b) can preferably be inserted from one side.

Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c) has a receiving area (14-14b) projecting from the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c), which is designed to engage with an underside of dishes that can be placed in the presentation area (2-2c).

Device according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the receiving device (3-3b) has a restoring means (17) to which a tempering agent (4-4b) can be applied in such a way that the tempering agent is at least partially in contact with an underside of the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c).

8. Device according to claim 7, characterized in that the restoring means (17) projects from the wall section (5-5c; 6-6c) in the direction of the underside of the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c), and is preferably integrally formed thereon.

Device according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the device (1-1c) has a preferably pivotable closing flap through which an insertion opening (11-11b), through which the tempering agent (4-4b) can be introduced into the space (7-7b) for receiving the tempering agent (4-4b), can be closed.

10. Device according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the device (1-1c) comprises a cover (19) which can be pivotably connected to the trough-shaped presentation area (2-2c) and which can be moved from a closed position to an open position.

11. Device according to claim 10, characterized in that the cover (19) comprises a connecting section (21) which has two guide rails (24) between which a partially convex guide element (25) extends.

12. Device according to claim 10 or 1 1 , characterized in that the side wall section (5-5c; 6-6c) in the open position simultaneously engages a cover hood edge (31 ) and a bulge (32) of a convex guide element (25).
