A viscosity modifier and use thereof in regulating the viscosity of daily chemicals. The viscosity modifier provided can play a role in regulating viscosity and the like in daily chemicals. The viscosity modifier consists of a component A and an optional component B, wherein the component A is one or more of a glycolipid and a salt thereof, and the component B is selected from one or more of an alkyl glycoside surfactant and a surfactant having a benzene ring structure.
