The travelling pipe itself moving up& down on a mast (fixed in river bed) for various river water levels. Slow water hits drum blades, rotates it generating electricity!

There are no effective slow river flow kinetic energy generators in all countries. Horizontal axis with propellers, combination of vertical axis type Darrius, Savonius, helical or combinations has not worked in all countries despite huge MNC companies making generators or renewable energies successful. 6000kms of Indian perennial rivers of North India, more than global 30000 kilometres of 365*24 eternal free energy is running unused.

[0053] Accordingly the object of the invention is to identify the solutions for problem associated with good electricity for humanity from all our earth’s perennial rivers, canals, oceans sea shore energy-all accessible, cheaper than fossil, nuclear energies. This an investment for good green non-polluting renewable energy ease for long use. Propellers, vertical axis- Darrius, Savonius, helix, vortex models are not priority as they are defective, not same as ours- citing a volume of past propeller, Darrius , Savonius, vortex , helix are legally not a priority as all these are different in structure, working, function, working and electricity delivered. An extensive search has been carried out using the Internet and related patent specifications were studied for cylindrical drum based blades travelling on mast anchored in rivers, canals seashore. Since the present invention is radically different, in using the new mast travelling drum based blades with water deflector, the inventors are unable to site any patent specification out of the available databases. Search of the USPTO, European patent offices, others, known literature, generators, renewable energy companies’ literature do not reveal machine like ours. We are not able to cite prior art novel mast traveling cylindrical drum turbines with water deflector of near related structure or function.

[0083] DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0084] The following specification describes salient features of invention, the method of construction, the method of use and the advantages of the novel invention.
[0085] The novel device has a novel cylindrical drum with new different blades on its body with an inner bearings mounted on a travelling pipe with pipe’s inner surface rollers assembled on a mast with rails for travelling pipe , its drum turbine position just below river water surface. The mast is anchored on river bed, with a height above maximal flood water height to pull up generator drum turbine for few hours of floods in a year. The existing vertical axis (savonis, Darrius, helix, vortex or combinations) and horizontal axis propeller type 3 bladed aren’t proven efficient in water& have not been improved for long. The object of the invention is to overcome the inherent defects of all existing vertical axis & horizontal axis propeller types in use and cost. To this end, the new invention is addressed. Our moving water generator is better, easy to use, maintain, saving money, pollution, health too. Ours is not a shop floor improvement but needed a long research on new different thinking with a new novel water density drum with many blades to trap moving water and rotate the drum with its A.C generators on the bearings of the travelling pipe which can’t rotate, but move up & down the mast that is fixed in river. The low velocity water easily rotates drum turbine on its bearings. It is non-obvious and new as all MNC generators, renewable energy companies in all countries didn’t solve this for long felt need for free flowing perennial rivers in all continents. Ours is not shop floor improvement as MNC energy company’s shop floor engineers& technicians didn’t create one like ours. There is novelty, new parts, better result- more electricity.

The mast top below rain shield has an electrical motor with a rope cable drum having rope cables tied to top of travelling pipe.8 An electronic control receives current from drum generators, refines it to needed volt phase output, a river water level sensor& cable drum match to generate more electricity. The device comprises a mast tower 1 Fig 1, Fig 2, Fig. 12, Figl7 formed of three or more rails 2 connected by cross steel bars 3 forming a strong tower mast. This is the cheapest way to make sturdy mast. Top of mast has a rain shield 4, Fig 3with safety top red light 5, lightning arrestor6 and side lamps? directing different colour lamps to mark blade area illuminating it, at nights for safety The tower below the top shield has an electrical rope motor 8, Fig 1, Fig4 with a rope cable drum 9 with wound cables 10 three in number for travelling pipe, we have shown in figures. Huge wider towers can have more rails, more rope cables.

The travelling pipe control module comprises of a water sensor laser 13 that reads of a floating reflecting device inside the mast, sends to control circuit for pulling up or lowering travelling pipe with its deflectors, generators to just below river water surface by controlling the rope motor 8 to wind / unwind the rope cable drum 9. The data module of electronic control box has data, internet, diagnostic and alarm, communicating software with land people & also controls safety lights horns, cameras to relay to land people.

In figure two sets in upper, lower are shown. Castors can have springs (not shown) for silent roll on rails. The outer surface of the travelling pipe has a water deflector supports 16 with a vertical deflector 17 to direct moving water on to drum blades. Deflector has inner surface38 directing water on to blades for energy and an outer surface39 that directs water away from side of blades. Fig 10 shows the water deflector effect. The river stream, strikes deflector, then many drum blades for torque. The long arrow on side of water flow is shown. On the other outer surface 39 the water flow is lesser with smaller arrow shown reducing anti-rotating forces & increasing torque. The water hits more drum turbine blades for more energy torque. This water deflector increases water force hitting drum blades- is new novel for river generators. In Fig 9 shows water flow hitting a blades without deflector model3 both halves get same water flow arrows, are same size-less torque. The travelling pipe has on outer surface Fig 8 two or more bearings in larger models, bushes in small models bushes (not shown). Bearings are water proof for needed stress & strength for years of rotation. It can be ceramic, steel, brass or in small models plastics too.

[0100] Our invention is different from all vertical& horizontal propeller devices. Fig9 shows a river stream with just circular placed blades. The water stream hits blades, half going into both sides- a low efficiency. In our device, Fig 10 water deflector deflects river stream to hit more blades for more torque. The arrows is longer stronger on water deflector side and less on other side. There is no pass through of water in our device- less eddies too. This is new for slow river energy. Fig 11 shows water passes between propeller blades of horizontal axis type, in vertical axis too a lot of water passes between blades space-wasted lost energy! Ours is more efficient.

As water level varies the travelling pipe module of electronic control 12 with its laser floating on water sensori 3 / mechanical float ball keeps drum turbine at just below water level for various water level in river levels. In floods, the electronic control will lift the drum turbine on travelling pipe, above the maximal water levels, lowering the drum turbine after flood and its stones, trees settle for new electricity generation. Series of river generators Fig 13 on river bank, edges and centre are shown in Figl4- can be a grid serving all towns along river supplementing other solar, wind, smaller fossil fuels electricity.

Mast can be fixed on riverbank as in Fig 13with long horizontal arm supporting mast with its travelling drum blades generators, electrical cable 27 leading our electricity to land grid. The mast with its drum generator can be lifted out of river on to bank in floods by a rotating mechanism with an electric motor assist (not shown). In canals Fig 14 this type canal bank fixing mast type is shown. Fluorescent reflecting strips can be pasted on mast all sides for warning in day, night in boat paths. Mast can be made of steel angles with cross steel support for strong years of use with water proof coating for years of safe use. Travelling pipe, drums can be made of water proof stainless steel, aluminium, engineered plastics and composites. Water safe ceramic bearings, brass can also be used. Drum can be made of 304 stainless steel with an air filled plastic drum inside for water level floatation. Drum cylinder of stainless steel water prof 304 types gives long use. Fit the air filled plastic drum inside stainless steel drum shell-it reduces density, helps drum to float just below water level, cuts water eddies through the drum. Plastic drum can be made as three or more segments, assembled inside the cylinder in large units. Separate plastic drum is not shown in figure. Cables are water proof. Water level sensing is by laser or float ball, sensors 13 can be connected to electronic control to run rope cable drum motor in mast top for variable season’ s water level. A float attached to bottom or top of travelling pipe can keep drum blades in just below water level eliminating water sensors & rope drum in small models. Mast can be square, polyhedral. Travelling Pipe castor on rails can be replaced with Nylon cast bushes!

A series of small float models with connected panel / cables can form across river huge energy farm, two are shown in Fig 14. Float models has two float tanks supporting weight of turbine. This float variant needs no travelling pipe but has a mast with direct bearings support (not shown in figure) for drum assembly rotation as floats are always on water surface. Float models reduces mast costs, foundation costs. Steel, plastic, water proof coating tethering cables30 are attached to both ends of float cross beam to river bed. This float can go up & down in summer, foods or brought to bank for service. The efficient length of float tether cable is by calculating maximal flood level & point of river positioning point anchoring to river bed. Additional tethers can be used for stable low float wobble in correct river water good velocity position. Floats can be used in canals Figl4, small rivers and tidal river mouths. Masts are more efficient than floats.
[0106] In tidal / ocean mast model Figl7 with two deflectors 17 - upstream and lower reverse stream of water with both upstream and lower stream water flow harvesting for continuous electricity. Floating sea / tidal model can be used in tidal / sea shore sites. In wave sites, mast is a better efficient to catch sub-wave water flow. Since this is floating the floats can be anchored between two opposite river banks of small rivers, canals as in figl4. In no boating large rivers we can anchor series of our generators in river floor or use few masts to keep float modules without being hauled away in floods. During floods, float generators may be released and all turbines safely kept in one bank tied and refixed after floods. 1. Moving water electricity generator comprising: a. A cylindrical drum turbine component comprising the drum (19), its plurality of circumference curved surface blades (20), atop surface generator gear ring (21), an inner central cavity (26) for bearings set mounted on the non-rotating travelling pipe (11). b. Plurality of drum blades components, each blade (20), with a water receiving surface with vertical and horizontal baffles (33), series of holes (32) & slots (31) and on its back surface set of reinforcing horizontal (34). & vertical ridges (35). c. A mast component comprising mast proper(l), plurality of rails (2), frame of calculated height, a top rope cable(10) & electronic control cabin with a bottom foundation(37) in river bed. d. A travelling pipe component comprising a pipe (11), on pipe inner surface a set of castor sets (15) to fit& roll on mast rails (2), the travelling pipe (11) on its outer surface a set of bearings (18), an upstream placed water deflector supports (16) with its water deflector (17), on top edge a set of balanced A.C generators (22) and rope cable holes (14). e. An upstream water deflector component comprising the deflector (17), its inner deflector blade part (38) directing water onto drum blades and an outer blade part (39) directing water away from blades. f. The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the cylindrical drum (19) comprises a top surface generator gear ring(21) , an inner central cavity (26) for traveling pipe bearings, a plurality of blades(20) in the curved surface, the cylindrical drum rotating freely around the travelling pipe bearings(18). .

The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the drum blades(20) of the curved surface of cylindrical drum comprises a body with vertical and horizontal baffles(33), holes (32) & slots(31) on the water hitting surface and on the back side a set of reinforcing horizontal(34) vertical (35) ridges.

The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the travelling pipe comprises a pipe body(l l) , a set of cable top edge rope holes(14), sets of inner surface castor (15) fitting& rolling on mast rails(2), on pipes(l 1) outer surface bearings sets(18) , a set of water deflector supports(16), a set of balanced positioned generators supports. The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the mast comprises , a foundation part(37), mast proper(l), a rope cable drum (9) and electronic control (12) on top inside of mast, a topmost rain / snow protecting shield (4) with warning lamp(5), lightning arrestor(6), the mast outer surface having plurality of rails (2) for travelling pipe castors.

The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein the travelling pipe rope cable system comprises a rope cable drum (9) with plurality of rope cables(lO), its electrical motor(8) , with its free end fixed in travelling pipe holes(14),8. The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein electronic control module (12) comprises a rope cable drum module with its water level sensor input, a communication module& warning safety module and an electrical volt, phase module with its waterproof input A.C generator electrical cables (24) and output water proof electrical cable (27) for safe electrical feed to grid.

The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein float model comprises floats tanks (28) , cross link beam(29) with tether cables(30), the rotating cylindrical drum(19) with its blades(20), water deflector(17), generator assembly fixed in the centre of bottom of cross beam just below water level.

The moving water electricity generator as claimed in claim 1, wherein ocean / tidal generator comprises the cylindrical drum turbine with plurality of blades, generator gear ring, an upstream current deflector(17), a down reverse stream deflector(17) on the travelling pipe around the drum turbine, for upstream and reverse stream water flow continuous electricity generation.
