Abstract

Provided are a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having improved cycle characteristics and a method for manufacturing same. The non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: an electrode assembly including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein: the positive electrode contains a first positive electrode active material and a second positive electrode active material; the second positive electrode active material contains, as a solid solution having an oxidation potential of 4.4 V or more on the basis of lithium, a solid solution of lithium manganese oxide and lithium transition metal oxide, and is at least partially electrochemically inactivated by a charging reaction; and the negative electrode contains a Si-based negative electrode active material.
