Ear plug

Abstract

An earplug for attenuation of sound to an ear canal of a user, formed by two main separate parts: a main body to be placed into the ear and a tip to be placed facing the surroundings; wherein the tip consists of a piece with the form of a disc, with the same diameter of the lower circular portion of the main body; the tip has a protuberance located adapted to fit in a hole located at the lower portion of the main body; the tip can freely rotate over the lower portion of the main body, such that during rotation it can be placed in a position wherein both circular bases completely overlap and different positions wherein the tip only partially overlaps with the lower portion of the main body; the main body consists of an elongated piece which has a lower portion, whereby it can be joined to the tip, and an upper narrower portion; the lower portion is considerably broader than the upper portion and has two different sections: a first circular section with a disc form, which has a small hole that goes through it, wherein the protuberance located in the tip fits; a second section has the form of a truncated cone, and forms an integral piece with the first section, being the truncated conical body not centered with regard to the base of the first circular section; said truncated conical body has a considerable smaller diameter than the one of the first circular section; the narrower portion of the main body is over the broader portion, it is joined to it by means of a small cylindrical joining piece of a diameter shorter than the diameter of the narrower portion; the narrower portion has an essentially cylindrical form and has three distinct sections in it: a first cylindrical section through which it is joined to the small cylindrical joining piece; a second section opposite to the first cylindrical section, this extreme section is cylindrical but it is slightly flattened at its end, such as with a truncated cone shape; the first cylindrical section and second section opposite to it, are distinguishable thanks to a groove on the surface of the narrower portion.
