Abstract

Motorized vessel comprising a supporting structure and at least one pair of similar hydrofoils located on each side of the supporting structure, each of said hydrofoils consisting of a wing and its support, the latter being retractable in the lower part of the structure and being slidably adjusted relative to it, said hydrofoils being arranged in such a way as to occupy at least two fixed positions, namely a position called "active", in which they are deployed in similar positions, and a position called "passive", in which said supports are retracted into the supporting structure, characterised in that the vessel is configured in such a way that the deployment of the hydrofoils involves an initial displacement of the supports in an almost horizontal direction which is remote from the mean vertical plane of the supporting structure,followed by capsizing about an axis parallel or nearly parallel to the main axis of the vessel.,
