AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing laser-based communication systems are limited to information transmission and require complex modulation to reduce interference, lacking the capability for simultaneous energy transmission and are not battery-independent.

Method used

A method using two laser light sources with complementary wavelengths and a receiver module with detectors and solar cells, along with polarization filters, to enable simultaneous energy and information transfer without complex modulation.

Benefits of technology

Enables simple and compact energy and information transmission with reduced interference, eliminating the need for batteries or power supplies.

Abstract

Method for energy and information transmission using laser beams with a transmitter module (1) having at least two laser light sources (3, 4) and a receiver module (2) having at least two detectors (6, 7) with polarization filters, wherein the transmitter module (1) transmits the information with the laser radiation emitted by the two laser light sources (3, 4) with different wavelengths (λ1, λ2) in a complementary manner, wherein the correlation of the signals of both wavelengths (λ1, λ2) is used to detect, by means of the at least two detectors (6, 7), whether data is being transmitted, characterized by the fact that the receiver module (2) is equipped with a series of solar cells (5) arranged in an arrangement with the at least two detectors (6, 7) with the polarization filters, wherein the laser light sources (3, 4) each have a radiation angle (α, β) that encloses the solar cells (5) so that the receiver module (2) receives energy from the laser light sources (3, 4).
