Abstract
Description
[0001] The present invention relates to a saddle seat vehicle.
[0002] In the prior art, a saddle-seat vehicle is known which has a front cowl covering one side of an engine and a windshield provided on the front cowl to reduce the exposure of a rider's feet to the wind (see, for example, JP 2010 - 234 901 A).
[0003] EP 2 949 567 A1 discloses a saddle-seat vehicle having a windshield. JP 2014 - 043 808 A discloses a saddle-seat vehicle according to the preamble of independent claim 1.
[0004] However, some saddle seat vehicles may not have front fairings provided on the engine sides, and it is desirable for vehicles without a front fairing to have structure on the engine sides to reduce the exposure of a rider's feet to the wind.
[0005] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide a saddle-seat vehicle adapted to easily mount a windshield and effectively reduce the exposure of a rider to wind even in a case of a saddle-seat vehicle without a front cowl covering one side of an engine.
[0006] This problem is solved by the subject matter of the independent claim. The dependent claims develop the central idea of the present invention in a particularly advantageous manner.
[0007] A saddle seat vehicle is a saddle seat vehicle in which at least a portion of a side surface of an engine is exposed, having a windshield located in front of a driver's foot, the windshield being located on a side surface of the crankcase of the engine and supported only by the crankcase.
[0008] It is possible to easily install a windshield and effectively reduce a rider's exposure to the wind even in the case of a saddle-seat vehicle without a front fairing covering one side of an engine. [0033] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 2, the front upper panel 41 is configured to be substantially horizontally symmetrical. The front upper panel 41 has a substantially V-shaped stripe shape when viewed from the front. The front upper panel 41 extends upward at the rear in a side view.
[0034] Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the saddle seat vehicle 10 viewed from the left front side, illustrating a peripheral portion of the front fascia 42 at the front end. Fig. 6 is a sectional view along the line VI-VI in Fig. 5. Fig. 7 is a sectional view along the line VII-VII in Fig. 2.
[0035] The front end front fairing 42 covers the underside of the left and right headlights 38. The front end front fairing 42 has an inner member at the front end 47 that covers an area between the left and right headlights 38 and an outer member at a front end 48 that is arranged in front of the inner member of the front end 47.
[0036] The inner element of the front end 47 is formed substantially in an inverted U-shape in a front view (see Fig. 2). The front end inner member 47 includes a center portion 47A located between the left and right headlights 38, and a pair of left and right side wall portions 47B extending rearward from both left and right sides of the center portion 47A. The side wall portions 47B as a whole have a thickness in an up-down direction.
[0037] The central area 47A is in a square shape in a front view (see Fig. 2). An upper portion opening 47A1 passing in the front and rear direction is formed at an upper portion of the center portion 47A. The upper portion opening 47A1 extends in the vehicle width direction (left and right direction). A rear recessed portion 47A2 is formed below the upper portion opening 47A1. The recessed portion 47A2 extends in the vehicle width direction along the upper portion opening 47A1. Lower portion openings 47A3 passing through the center portion 47A in the thickness direction are formed at outer ends of the recessed portion 47A2 in the vehicle width direction. The left and right lower portion openings 47A3 open to face the front surfaces of the left and right headlights 38, respectively.
[0038] Guide walls 38A with L-shaped sections are provided on the front surfaces of the headlights 38 as shown in Fig. 6. Outer ends 38A1 of the guide walls 38A in the vehicle width direction are arranged further outward than the openings 47A3 at the lower portion in the vehicle width direction.
[0039] The outer element 48 at the front end is arranged at the recessed area 47A2, as in Fig. 5. The front-end outer member 48 has a bridge portion 48A extending along the recessed portion 47A2 and fixing portions 48B provided at both left and right ends of the bridge portion 48A. The left and right fixing portions 48B have plate shapes extending rearward toward the outside in the vehicle width direction. The left and right fixing portions 48B are fixed to the front-end inner member 47, and the front-end outer member 48 is supported by the vehicle body. The bridge portion 48A of the front-end outer member 48 is formed to have a narrower width than the recessed portion 47A2 in the up-and-down direction and is separated from a bottom surface (inner surface) of the recessed portion 47A2.
[0040] Therefore, when the running wind impacts the front end front cowl 42, the running wind enters a gap between the front end outer member 48 and the front end inner member 47, and is then guided to the left and right sides via the bottom surface of the recessed portion 47A2. The running wind guided to the left and right sides through the recessed portion 47A2 flows further rearward than the front end inner member 47 through the lower portion openings 47A3. The running wind that has flowed to the rear of the front end inner member 47 is guided to the inside in the vehicle width direction by the guide walls 38A of the headlights 38, then flows between the left and right headlights 38, and flows to the rear through the vehicle width direction center portion. The airflow passing through the openings 47A3 at the lower portion of the front cowl 42 at the front end enters the interior of the front cowl 31 while meandering. It should be noted that the steering head tube 18 and the lower frame 19c are located at the center portion in the vehicle width direction.
[0041] A front end area of the interior trim 45 (see Fig. 4) is engaged in the front areas of the side areas 47B of the inner element 47 at the front end. Likewise, the front end areas of the lower front panels 44 (see Fig. 3) in the front areas of the side areas 47B. Inlet openings 47B1 (see Fig. 6) are formed at rear portions of the side portions 47B. The inlet openings 47B1 guide the airflow into a wind guide path 54 formed by a space defined by the side front panels 43 and the inner panel 45.
[0042] Fig. Fig. 8 is a diagram showing a representation of the connecting panels 46 and the side panels 32 of Fig. 4 was omitted. Fig. 9 is a diagram showing an illustration of the inner lining 45 of Fig. 8 is omitted.
[0043] The inner cowl 45 is arranged behind the headlights 38. The inner cowl 45 surrounds the front fork 14. The inner cowl 45 includes a cowl main body portion 45A arranged on the front upper surface of the front fork 14, a U-shaped opening forming portion 45B provided below the cowl main body portion 45A, cowl side portions 45C serving as side portions formed on both left and right sides of the cowl main body portion 45A, and blocking portions 45D provided at outer ends of the cowl side portions 45C in the vehicle width direction.
[0044] The opening forming portion 45B is engaged with the inner member 47 at the front end of the front front cowl 42 at the front end on the front end side. Both ends of the opening forming portion 45B in the vehicle width direction have strip shapes extending on the bottom. The side portions 45C of the cowl cover the front fork 14 from the outer sides in the vehicle width direction. The side portions 45C of the cowl are inclined toward the rear on the outer sides in the vehicle width direction when viewed from the top, as shown in FIG. Fig. 7. Recessed portions 45C1, which are recessed on the inside in the vehicle width direction, are provided on side portions 45C of the cowl to correspond to the left and right tanks 39B and 39C of the radiator 39. The left and right side portions 45C of the cowl extend further inward than the tanks 39B and 39C in the vehicle width direction and extend at the rear. As shown in Fig. As shown in Figure 8, the side portions 45C of the cowl and the opening-forming portion 45B form a radiator mounting portion 45E having a shape cut into an L-shape. The radiator 39 is disposed in the radiator mounting portion 45E.
[0045] The blocking areas 45D extend in the vehicle width direction in the direction of the side front panel 43 on the outer sides in the vehicle width direction (see Fig. 7).
[0046] As in Fig. 4 and Fig. As shown in Fig. 7, the connecting panels 46 are provided on both left and right sides of the inner panel 45. The connecting panels 46 extend from the front end of the front fascia 42 and are connected to the side panels 32. A hose covering portion 46A is provided at a rear end portion of the connecting panel 46 on the left side. The hose covering portion 46A covers a connecting portion between the radiator 39 and a radiator hose 51 from the outside in the vehicle width direction.
[0047] The connecting panels 46 have partition portions 46B having plate shapes having a thickness in an up and down direction as shown in Fig. 7. The partitioning portions 46B extend between the inner panel 45 and the front side panels 43 and partition a portion of the wind guide path 54 at the upper and lower sides. Openings 46B1, which pass through the partitioning portions 46B in the thickness direction, are formed at rear portions of the partitioning portions 46B. The openings 46B1 overlap the containers 36B and 39C. Channel-forming portions 46C, which extend at the upper side, are formed in front of the openings 46B1 (see Fig. 4). The channel-forming portions 46C are curved to protrude at the outer sides in the vehicle width direction and extend from the front toward the rear on the outer sides in the vehicle width direction. The channel-forming portions 46C are arranged to face the recessed portions 45C1 of the interior trim 45. The channel-forming portions 46C form substantially tubular channel portions 49 together with the recessed portions 45C1.
[0048] Inlet channels 56 (see Fig. 4) run from the top into the channel areas 49. The inlet channels 56 run from an air filter box 57 (see Fig. 4), which is arranged in front of the fuel tank 29. A pair of left and right intake ports 56 are arranged. The intake ports 56 have distal end openings in the port areas 49.
[0049] The intake ducts 56 and the air filter box 57 on the outside in the vehicle width direction are covered with the front side front panel 43 (see Fig. 3). The front side panels 43 form the wind guide path 54 (see Fig. 7) between the front side panel 43 and the inner panel 45.
[0050] The airflow flows into the front cowling 31 from the inlet openings 47B1 of the front cowling 42 at the front end. In the wind guide path 54 of the front cowling 31, the airflow moves from the underside of the connecting panels 46 to the channel areas 49 (see Fig. 4) over the subdivision areas 46B through the openings 46B1 and is taken into the inlet channels 56 (see Fig. 4).
[0051] As in Fig. 3 and Fig. 4, the front side front fairings 43 are held by the connecting fairings 46 and the side fairings 32. The front side front fairings 43 are connected to the upper portions of the fairing air outlets 32G. The front side front fairing 43 on the left side also covers the radiator hose 51 (see Fig. 8) on the left side from the outside.
[0052] The front lower front cowlings 44 are connected to the front front cowling 42 at the front end, the inner cowling 45, and the connecting cowlings 46. The front lower front cowlings 44 extend from the front end cowling 42 at the outer sides in the vehicle width direction. The front lower front cowlings 44 extend along the front edges of the front side cowlings 43, are bent into a curved shape at the lower side, and are then connected to the front ends of the cowling wind outlet portions 32G.
[0053] Fig. 10 is an enlarged view of the main areas in Fig. 1, which represents a circumferential area of the crankshaft housing 23 of the engine 12. Fig. 11 is a perspective view of the saddle seat vehicle 10 viewed from the left rear side, illustrating the peripheral area of the crankcase 23 of the engine 12.
[0054] The drive unit 12 is an engine in the present embodiment. Hereinafter, the drive unit 12 is referred to as an engine 12. The engine 12 includes the crankcase 23 and the cylinder 24 extending from the crankcase 23 on the upper right side. The left and right side surfaces of the crankcase 23 are not covered by the vehicle body panel 30 and are exposed in the vehicle width direction. An exhaust device 25 is connected to a front surface of the upper portion of the cylinder 24.
[0055] Fig. 12 is a bottom view of the main portions of the saddle seat vehicle 10 according to the embodiment of the invention. Fig. 13 is a diagram showing the representation of foot deflectors 80 and 90 from Fig. 12 was omitted.
[0056] The exhaust device 25 includes a pair of left and right exhaust pipes 61 and 62. The exhaust pipe 61 on the left side extends along the lower side of the cylinder 24, is bent on the right side, and is then connected to the front end of a tubular catalyst 63 that runs in the front-rear direction. The exhaust pipe 62 on the right side extends along the lower side of the cylinder 24, is bent on the right side, and is then connected to a front end of a catalyst 63 similar to the exhaust pipe 61 on the left side. The catalyst 63 runs in the front-rear direction. The catalyst 63 is covered with a catalyst cover 64. A second exhaust pipe 66 is connected to a rear end of the catalyst 63. The second exhaust pipe 66 runs at the rear and is connected to a muffler 67 (see Fig. 2).
[0057] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 13, the lower cover 33 is arranged on the left side of the catalyst 63. The lower cover 33 has a substantially flat plate shape when viewed from below. The lower cover 33 has a bottom wall 70 extending downward at the rear, a left wall 71 extending at the upper left side from the left end of the bottom wall 70, and a front wall 72 (see Fig. 2), which is provided at the front ends of the bottom wall 70 and the left wall 71.
[0058] The lower cowl 33 extends along the lower frame 19d on the left side and covers the lower frame 19c on the left side from the lower left side. A right end 33A of the lower cowl 33 is fixed to the position of the lower frame 19d on the right side, and the lower cowl 33 covers only the front end portion of the lower frame 19d on the right side. The front wall 72 overlaps the exhaust pipes 61 when viewed from below.
[0059] The lower panel 33 is attached to the struts 19d1 of the left and right lower frames 19d with attachment portions 70A and 70B of the bottom wall 70. Likewise, the lower panel 33 is attached to the lower frame 19d on the left side with an attachment portion 71a at the rear end portion of the left wall 71. In addition, the lower panel 33 is attached to a strut 19d2 (see Fig. 13) which is attached from the lower frame 19d to a mounting area 71G1 (see Fig. 13) runs along the left front side. In this way, the lower panel 33 is attached to the vehicle body frame 11, bypassing the exhaust pipes 61 and 62.
[0060] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 10, the left wall 71 of the lower cover 33 has a longitudinal shape with an appearance that slopes downward at the rear in a side view. The left wall 71 extends along the lower frame 19d on the left side. Slotted openings 71B and 71C, which extend in the longitudinal direction of the left wall 71, are formed in the left wall 71.
[0061] As in Fig. As shown in Fig. 13, a pair of front and rear braces 71D and 71E are formed at the upper end of the left wall 71. The braces 71D and 71E have square-cylindrical shapes that protrude on the outer sides in the vehicle width direction. Attachment / removal holes 110 penetrating in the thickness direction are formed in attachment surfaces 71D and 71E1 below the braces 71D and 71E. The attachment surface 71E1 of the rear brace 71E is oriented toward the rear with respect to the attachment surface 71D1 of the front brace 71D, and the penetration direction of the attachment / removal hole 110 in the rear brace 71E is slightly inclined in the front-rear direction. Bolts 120 are inserted into the attachment / removal holes 110. The foot deflector 80 on the left side is held by the struts 71D and 71E with the screws 120.
[0062] A extending portion 71D extending from the front upper side of the brace 71D is formed in front of the brace 71D at the front. The attachment portion 71G1 attached to the lower frame 19d on the left side is formed at a rear portion of the extension portion 71G. A attachment portion 71G2 to which the foot deflector (the wind shield on one side in the vehicle direction) 80 is attached on the left side is formed at the front end of the extension portion 71G.
[0063] In Fig. 11 and Fig. 12, the foot deflector 80 extends downwards on the left side in a side view similar to the left wall 71 of the lower panel 33 at the rear. The foot deflector 80 has a shape that extends downwards at the rear from the front of the cylinder 24 and extends at the rear up to a height of the step 28 in a side view. As shown in Fig. 12, the foot deflector 80 has a substantially L-shape extending around an outer end of the front side fascia 43 and bent at the inner side in the vehicle width direction from the protruding end 80A in a bottom view.
[0064] In Fig. 11 and Fig. 12, the foot deflector 80 has an outer side surface portion 81 extending along the front and rear direction, a front surface portion 82 bent on the right side from the front end of the outer side surface portion 81, and a rear surface portion 83 bent on the inner side in the vehicle width direction from the rear end of the outer side surface portion 81.
[0065] The foot deflector 80 is arranged to cover the continuation area 71G of the lower cover 33 and the struts 71D and 71E from the underside.
[0066] The foot deflector 80 is arranged on the attachment portion 71G2 of the lower cowl 33 at the attachment portion 82A of the front surface portion 82. The attachment portion 82A is fixed to the attachment portion 71G2 with a screw 130 extending in the front-rear direction. Likewise, the foot deflector 80 is removably held by the brace 71D at the front to a support portion 81A of the outer side surface portion 81. Furthermore, the foot deflector 80 is removably held by the brace 71E at the rear to a support portion 83A of the rear surface portion 83. The support portions 81A and 83A are held by the braces 71D and 73E, with the screws 120 extending in the up-down direction.
[0067] The foot deflector 80 is fixedly held by the lower cover 33 at the front surface portion 82. Likewise, the foot deflector 80 is removably held by the lower cover 33 at the outer side surface portion 81 and the rear surface portion 83. In this way, portions other than the front surface portion 82 are easily removed from the lower cover 33 in a case where the foot deflector 80 receives an external force. Therefore, even if the foot deflector 80 receives a force from the outside of the vehicle body, the force can be easily canceled.
[0068] An opening 82B (see Fig. 2) passing in the front and rear direction is formed on the front surface portion 82 of the foot deflector 80. The opening 82B is formed further outward in the vehicle width direction than the attachment portion 82A. A trim engagement portion 82C (see Fig. 20), which is engaged with the side panel 32, is formed at the upper end of the front surface portion 82. The left-side foot deflector 80 is supported by the vehicle body frame 11 via the lower panel 33 and is engaged with and supported by the side panel 32.
[0069] Fig. 14 is a right side view of the saddle seat vehicle 10, illustrating the peripheral area of the crankcase 23. Fig. 15 is a perspective view of the saddle seat vehicle 10 viewed from a right rear side, illustrating the peripheral portion of the crankcase 23. Fig. 16 is a diagram in which the representation of the foot deflector 90 on the right side is Fig. 14 was omitted.
[0070] The right-side foot deflector 90 (the windshield on the other side in the vehicle width direction) is arranged on the right underside of the engine 12. The right-side foot deflector 90 is formed to be substantially horizontally symmetrical with respect to the left-side foot deflector 80.
[0071] The foot deflector 90 on the right side extends downward at the rear in a side view. The foot deflector 90 has a shape that extends downward at the rear from the front of the cylinder 24 and extends at the rear up to a height of the step 28 in a side view. Likewise, the foot deflector 90 has a substantially L-shape that protrudes to the outer end of the front side front cowl 43 and extends on the inside in the vehicle width direction from the protruding end 90A in a Fig. 12 shown view from below is bent.
[0072] The foot deflector 90 on the right side has an outer surface portion 91 extending along the front and rear direction and a front surface portion 92 bent on the left side from the front end of the outer surface portion 91.
[0073] The foot deflector 90 on the right side is held by the engine 12. In the present embodiment, the foot deflector 90 on the right side is held by the engine 12 via the windshield strut 100 (see Fig. 16 and the like). In other words, the left-side foot deflector 80 is configured to be supported by the vehicle body frame 11, while the right-side foot deflector 90 is supported by the engine 12 instead of the vehicle body frame 11.
[0074] As in Fig. 16, the windshield brace 100 is supported only by the crankcase 23 of the engine 12. Specifically, the windshield brace 100 is supported by a crankcase cover (side surface) 23A on the right side included in the crankcase 23.
[0075] The windshield brace 100 includes a fixed portion 101 extending along an outer peripheral edge 23A1 on the underside of the crankcase cover 23A. The fixed portion 101 includes a front portion 101A located forward of a connecting portion 23A2 between the crankcase cover 23A and the radiator hose 52, an intermediate portion 101B extending downward from the front portion 101A at the rear beyond the connecting portion 23A2, and a rear portion 101C extending from the rear end of the intermediate portion 101B at the rear.
[0076] The front portion 101A is attached to a support 106, which is attached to the crankcase cover 23A. Likewise, the rear portion 101C is attached to a support 107, which is attached to the crankcase 23. The supports 106 and 107 are only attached to the crankcase cover 23A and are only attached to the engine 12. The windshield strut 100 is attached to the supports 106 and 107 with screws 122 (see Fig. 16) which run in the vehicle width direction.
[0077] A fixing portion 101A1 to which the foot deflector 90 is fixed is formed in the front surface of the front portion 101A.
[0078] Struts 102 and 103 extending outward in the vehicle width direction are formed at the intermediate portion 101B. Struts 102 and 103 have square-cylindrical hollow shapes. Mounting surfaces 102A and 103A on the underside of struts 102 and 103 face the front underside. Attachment / removal holes 110 are formed in the mounting surfaces 102A and 103A of struts 102 and 103.
[0079] The foot deflector 90 on the right side is arranged to cover the front portion 101A and the struts 102 and 103 of the windshield strut 100 from the front underside.
[0080] The foot deflector 90 is arranged on the fixed portion 101 of the windshield brace 100 at the attachment portion 92A of the front surface portion 92. The attachment portion 92A is fixed to the fixed portion 101 with a screw 130 extending in the front-rear direction. Likewise, the foot deflector 90 is removably held by the brace 102 at the front to the support portion 91A of the outer side surface portion 91. Furthermore, the foot deflector 90 is removably held by the brace 103 at the rear to the support portion 91B of the outer side surface portion 91. The support portions 91A and 91B are held by the braces 102 and 103 with screws 120 extending in the up-down direction.
[0081] The foot deflector 90 is firmly held by the lower windshield brace 100 at the front surface portion 92. Likewise, the foot deflector 90 is removably held by the windshield brace 100 at the outer side surface portion 91. In this way, when the foot deflector 90 receives a force from the outside, portions other than the front surface portion 92 are easily detached from the windshield brace 100. Therefore, even if the foot deflector 90 receives a force from the outside of the vehicle body, the force can be easily removed.
[0082] An opening 92B (see Fig. 2) passing in the front and rear direction is formed in the front surface portion 92 of the foot deflector 90. The opening 92B is formed further outward in the vehicle width direction than the attachment portion 92A. The radiator hose 52 extends over the front surface portion 92 (see Fig. 15). The foot deflector 90 on the right side is designed not to interfere with the side panel 32 on the right side.
[0083] Therefore, the foot deflector 90 on the right side is held only by the motor 12, in contrast to the foot deflector 80 on the left side.
[0084] Fig. Figure 17 is an enlarged view of the attachment area between the right side foot deflector 90 and the strut 102 of the windshield strut 100. Fig. 18 is a schematic view corresponding to a section along the line XVIII-XVIII in Fig. 17 corresponds.
[0085] Attachment / detachment holes 110 having opening shapes are formed in the attachment surface 102A of the brace 102. As the attachment / detachment holes 110, an attachment hole 110A and a separation hole 110B having an opening formed continuously from the attachment hole 110A are formed.
[0086] In the present embodiment, the attachment opening 110A has a circular shape, while the partition opening 110B has a square opening shape. The opening width of the partition opening 110B is wider than the opening width of the attachment opening 110A. The partition opening 110B is formed further inward in the vehicle width direction than the attachment opening 110A.
[0087] A corrugated nut 111 is disposed in the mounting hole 110A. The corrugated nut 111 is a member in which a nut is integrated with a rubber hose. Specifically, the corrugated nut 111 has a tubular portion 111A extending in a predetermined axial direction. A flange portion 111B is formed at one end of the tubular portion 111A in the axial direction. Similarly, a nut 111C is held on the inside of the tubular portion 111A at the other end side in the axial direction.
[0088] In the present embodiment, a washer 112 is disposed between the flange portion 111B of the corrugated nut 111 and the attachment surface 102A of the brace 102. The bolt (shaft member) 120 is inserted into the opening of the support portion 91A of the foot deflector 90, and the bolt 120 is inserted into the opening of the tubular portion 111A of the corrugated nut 111 attached to the brace 102. When the bolt 120 is fastened, the nut 111C is tightened to a head portion 120A of the bolt 120, and a tubular portion (large diameter part) 111A having a diameter that increases due to the tubular portion 111A being compressed in the axial direction according to the rotation of the bolt 120 becomes. Therefore, the flange portion 111B and the tubular portion 111A compress the mounting surface 102A of the strut 102 as the diameter increases.Likewise, the head portion 120A of the screw 120 and the tubular portion 111A with increasing diameter compress the foot deflector 90 and the brace 102. In this way, the foot deflector 90 is removably held by the brace 102. It is desirable that the tubular portion (large diameter portion) 111A with increasing diameter have a smaller diameter than the opening width of the separation opening 110B.
[0089] Likewise, the well nut 111, the washer 112 and the screw 120 are used for the attachment / removal holes 110 for the struts 103 of the windshield strut 100 and the struts 71D and 71E of the lower fairing 33, and the foot deflectors 80 and 90 are thereby held removable.
[0090] Although the running wind flows when the saddle-seat vehicle 10 is running, the running wind is easily scattered to the outside in the vehicle width direction by the foot deflectors 80 and 90, and the driver's feet are easily protected from the running wind in the present embodiment.
[0091] Likewise, the rider's feet can be protected by the foot deflectors 80 and 90 even if sand and the like splashed thereon from the ground or the like are directed toward the rider's feet when the saddle-seat vehicle 10 is traveling.
[0092] Therefore, it is possible to easily mount the foot deflector 90 and effectively avoid the driver's exposure to the wind even in the saddle-seat vehicle 10 without a vehicle body cowl 30 covering one side of the crankcase 23 of the engine 12 in the present invention.
[0093] Here, the foot deflectors 80 and 90 can receive a force from the outside of the vehicle body. At this time, the bolt 120 and the well nut 111 can be moved from the attachment hole 110A to the separation hole 110B on the inside of the vehicle body due to the orientation of the bolt 120, the shape of the attachment / removal hole 110, and the like, via the elastic deformation of the well nut 111 or the like in the attachment / removal hole 110. Likewise, when the bolt 120 and the well nut 111 move to the separation hole 110B, the well nut 111 is easily separated from the separation hole 110B. Therefore, even if the foot deflectors 80 and 90 receive a force from the outside of the vehicle body, the force can be easily canceled.
[0094] In particular, since the washer 112 is provided in the present invention, the flange portion 111B made of rubber is unlikely to come into direct contact with the mounting surfaces 71E1, 71F1, 102A, and 103A of the struts 71E, 71F, 102, and 103. Sliding resistance is thus reduced, and the bolt 120 and the corrugated nut 111 can be easily moved in an appropriate manner in the event that a force is applied thereto. It should be noted that, although the washer 112 is provided in the present embodiment, the foot deflectors 80 and 90 can be retained without providing the washer 112.
[0095] It should be emphasized that the foot deflectors 80 and 90 are fixed to the front surface portions 82 and 92, and the foot deflectors 80 and 90 can be reliably held by the vehicle body even if the foot deflectors 80 and 90 are separated from the outer side surface portions 81 and 91.
[0096] Fig. Fig. 19 is a left side view of the saddle seat vehicle 10 in a case where the connecting panel 46 is made of Fig. 4 is omitted. Fig. 20 is a diagram showing a representation of the side panels 32 of Fig. 19 is omitted.
[0097] The radiator 39 is formed in a rectangular plate shape extending in the vehicle width direction. The radiator 39 is arranged in front of the lower frame 19c (see Fig. 1). The radiator 39 is located between the left-side side panel 32 and the right-side side panel 32. The radiator 39 includes a rectangular body 39A extending in the vehicle width direction, a left-side tank 39B provided on the left side of the body 39A, and a right-side tank 39C provided on the right side of the body 39A.
[0098] Cooling water is introduced under pressure from a water pump (not shown) provided on the crankcase 23 and is circulated between the engine 12 and the radiator 39. The cooling water, having a temperature that rises after cooling the engine 12, flows into the tank 39B on the left side via the radiator hose 51 and is cooled by the airflow at the main body 39A of the radiator 39. The cooling water, which has been cooled by the main body 39A, flows out of the tank 39C on the right side and is supplied to the engine 12 via the radiator hose 52 (see Fig. 15), cools the engine 12 and is returned to the radiator 39 and this is repeated.
[0099] The radiator 39 in the present embodiment is supported by the lower frame 19c (see Fig. 1) held over the radiator cover plate 60.
[0100] The radiator shroud 60 is a member located behind the main body 39A of the radiator 39 and guides wind discharged from the radiator 39.
[0101] The radiator shroud 60 has a side wall portion 65 on the left side that covers the left surface of the radiator 39 and a side wall portion (not shown) on the right side that covers the right surface of the radiator 39.
[0102] The side wall portion 65 has a triangular plate shape with a width that narrows in the up-and-down direction toward the rear in a side view. The side wall portion 65 covers the side surface of the radiator 39 from the outer side in the vehicle width direction. The side wall portion 65 is separated from the wind outlet guide portion 61D on the inner side in the vehicle width direction, and wind discharged from the radiator fan (not shown) can flow between the side wall portion 65 and the wind outlet guide portion 61D. The discharged wind is guided to the outer side in the vehicle width direction through the wind outlet guide portion 61D and is discharged from a wind outlet port 61E.
[0103] A trim engagement hole 65A extending in the thickness direction is formed at a rear portion of the side wall portion 65. The trim engagement hole 65A extends in the up-down direction. Trim attachment holes 65B are formed at the top and bottom of the trim engagement hole 65A. The side trim 32 is engaged with the trim engagement hole 65A.
[0104] As in Fig. As shown in Figure 19, the side panel 32 extends from the seat 17 to the front. The side panel 32 covers the fuel tank 29 and the underside of the front area of the seat 17 from the side.
[0105] A protruding portion 32A, which extends substantially in an S-shape in a side view, is formed at a front end portion of the side cover 32. The protruding portion 32A includes an upper portion 32B extending downward from the upper end at the front, an intermediate portion 32C extending downward from the lower end of the upper portion 32B at the rear, and a continuation portion 32D extending downward from the lower end of the intermediate portion 32C at the front. The lower end of the intermediate portion 32C extends to the position of the radiator hose 51 in a side view. The continuation portion 32D extends along the rear side of the radiator shroud 60 of the radiator 39.
[0106] A first connection portion 32E extending along the upper side is formed at the front end of the extension portion 32D. The first connection portion 32E has an engagement portion 32E1 having a plate shape. An engagement portion main body (not shown) protruding toward the inner side in the vehicle width direction is formed on the inner surface of the engagement portion 32E1 in the vehicle width direction. The engagement portion main body is engaged with the trim engagement hole 65A of the side wall portion 65 of the radiator shroud 60, and the upper and lower portions of the engagement portion 32E1 are connected to the trim attachment holes 65B of the radiator shroud 60 with fastening tools 132.
[0107] The side cover 32 is also engaged with engagement portions 29A and 29B of the fuel tank 29. Likewise, the side cover 32 is engaged with a cover engagement portion 82C provided at an upper end of the foot deflector 80 on the left side held by the lower cover 33.
[0108] The side panel 32 is held by the vehicle body frame 11 via the radiator cover plate 60, the foot deflector 80, the fuel tank 29 and the like.
[0109] A second connecting portion 32F connecting the upper end of the first connecting portion 32E and the upper end of the extension portion 32D is formed at the upper end of the first connecting portion 32E. The cowl wind outlet portion 32G is formed by an opening shape surrounded by the first connecting portion 32E, the second connecting portion 32F, and the extension portion 32D. A plurality of louver portions 32H extending in the front-and-rear direction are provided between the first connecting portion 32E and the extension portion 32D above the cowl wind outlet portion 32G.
[0110] The wind outlet area 32G of the fairing overlaps the wind outlet opening 61E of the radiator 39 in a side view. The wind discharged through the wind outlet opening 61E of the radiator 39 is discharged to the outside of the vehicle body panel 30 via the wind outlet area 32G of the fairing.
[0111] Engagement areas 32M and 32N are formed in the side panel 32. The front side panel 43 (see Fig. 3) is engaged in engagement areas 32M and 32N.
[0112] The front side front panel 43 is connected to the side panel 32 along the upper portion 32B of the protruding portion 32A, the intermediate portion 32C and the second connecting portion 32F, as shown in Fig. 3 shown.
[0113] Likewise, the front side panel 43 is connected to the upper edge of the front lower panel 44. The front lower panel 44 covers the front of the first connecting area 32E of the side panel 32.
[0114] The vehicle body panel 30 has a shape surrounded by the front side front panels 43, the front lower front panels 44 and the extension portions 32D of the protruding portions 32A of the side panels 32, and forms an opening for the wind outlet portion 32G of the panel.
[0115] Here, the protruding portions 32A have parts that protrude further in the vehicle width direction than the front side front panels 43, as shown in Fig. 2 and Fig.12, and the protruding portions 32A overlap a handle 21 in a bottom view. Therefore, the wind discharged from the wind outlet portion 32G of the fairing is easily guided by the protruding portions 32A.
[0116] As described above, according to the embodiment to which the invention is applied, the saddle-seat vehicle 10 in which the crankcase cover 23A of the engine 12 is exposed has the foot deflector 90 located in front of a rider's foot, and the foot deflector 90 is located on the crankcase cover 23A of the crankcase 23 of the engine 12 and is supported only by the crankcase 23. Therefore, it is possible to easily install the foot deflector 90 and effectively reduce a rider's exposure to wind even in a case of a saddle-seat vehicle 10 without a front cowl 30 covering one side of an engine 12.
[0117] In the present embodiment, the foot deflector 90 is supported by a windshield stay 100 provided on the crankcase cover 23A. Therefore, it is possible to easily mount the foot deflector 90 even in the saddle-seat vehicle 10 having no vehicle body cover 30.
[0118] In the present embodiment, a part of the outer side surface area 91 of the foot deflector 90 is removably held by the windshield brace 100. Therefore, it is possible to separate the part of the foot deflector 90 and easily release a force received by the foot deflector 90 in a case where the foot deflector 90 receives the external force.
[0119] In the present embodiment, the windshield stay 100 is provided with attachment / detachment holes 110 having an opening shape to which the foot deflector 90 is removably held via the screw 120. The attachment / detachment holes 110 include the attachment hole 110A and the separation hole 110B forming an opening shape continuous with the attachment hole 110A and having a wider opening width than the attachment hole. The foot deflector 90 is held by the corrugated nut 111 held by the screw 120 in a state where the screw 120 is inserted into the attachment hole 110A. The corrugated nut 111 is configured to pass through the separation hole 110B, and the corrugated nut 111 is larger than the attachment hole 110A.Therefore, the fastening member to which the well nut 111 corresponds can pass through the separation hole 110B through the bolt 120 moving from the attachment hole 110A to the separation hole 110B, and it is possible to separate a part of the windshield in a case where the foot deflector 90 receives a force from the outside.
[0120] In the present embodiment, the fastening member is the corrugated nut 111. Therefore, it is possible to easily mount and assemble the fastening member and easily move the bolt 120 into the separation hole 110B in a case where an external force acts on the foot deflector 90, since the corrugated nut as the fastening member is elastically deformable.
[0121] The embodiment shown above illustrates only one aspect of the invention, and modifications and applications may be made in any way without departing from the scope of the invention as defined in the following claims.
[0122] Although the configuration in which the foot deflector 80 supported by the vehicle body frame 11 is engaged with the side panel 32 via the lower panel 33 has been described with reference to the above-described embodiment, the foot deflector 80 may be engaged with the front fascia 31, for example, the front side fascia 43.
[0123] Although the configuration in which the foot deflector 90 supported by the engine 12 via the windshield stay 100 is not engaged with the side cowl 32 has been described in the above-described embodiments, a configuration in which the foot deflector 90 supported by the engine 12 is engaged with the side cowl 32 or the front fascia 31 may also be adopted. In other words, the front fascia 31 and the side cowl 32 connected to the front fascia 31 may be included, and the foot deflector 90 may be engaged with the front fascia 31 or the side cowl 32 of the vehicle body cowl 30. With this configuration, it is possible to make the foot deflector 90 and the vehicle body cowl 30 have a uniform shape.
[0124] Although the above-illustrated embodiment has been described using a motorcycle having the front wheel 13 and the rear wheel 15 as an example of the saddle-seat vehicle 10, the invention is not limited thereto and can be applied to a saddle-seat vehicle with three wheels having two front wheels and one rear wheel and a saddle-seat vehicle having four or more wheels.
