Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Assisted ventilation device comprising a main body portable around the head and a remote blower module
[0001] The present invention relates to the general technical field of assisted ventilation devices, such as in particular assisted ventilation air filtration devices. The invention relates more particularly to an assisted ventilation device, individually portable, that is to say portable on the user.
[0002] Assisted ventilation devices are known, and in particular assisted ventilation air filtration devices, comprising a main body designed to be worn around the neck by a user and including an air inlet, an onboard fan and an air outlet provided to blow a filtered air flow towards the user's face. While they have the advantage of being relatively unobstructive to the face and pleasant to wear for short periods and in situations where the user moves relatively little, these assisted ventilation air filtration devices nevertheless remain improvable, particularly in terms of air distribution towards the user's respiratory tract. Indeed, they do not always allow optimal direction of the air flow towards the user's respiratory tract. These devices thus prove to be relatively ineffective insofar as, due to imperfect distribution of air by the device, the user breathes a significant quantity of unfiltered ambient air, mixed with air that is actually filtered. What is more, these known devices have the disadvantage of being relatively heavy and bulky, which affects their comfort of use in the long term. In addition, such known devices are generally not very suitable for use in situations where their user is mobile, insofar as excessive movements of the user's body, for example when the latter is running, tend to move the air outlet relative to the respiratory tract, which affects the proper distribution of air, as well as generating physical discomfort by the main body of the device bouncing against the user's torso, neck or shoulders.
[0003] The objects assigned to the invention therefore aim to provide a response to the above-mentioned problems, by proposing in particular a new assisted ventilation device individually portable by a user which, while being particularly easy and pleasant to use, in particular in a situation of mobility of the user, nevertheless ensures optimal distribution of an air flow to the user.
[0004] Another object of the invention is to propose a new assisted ventilation device which is of compact design.
[0005] Another object of the invention is to propose a new assisted ventilation device which is of ergonomic design.
[0006] Another object of the invention is to propose a new assisted ventilation device which is of simple construction.
[0007] Another object of the invention is to propose a new assisted ventilation device which is of reliable and robust construction.
[0008] Another object of the invention is to propose a new assisted ventilation device which contributes to preserving the respiratory health of the user.
[0009] The objects assigned to the invention are achieved using an individually portable assisted ventilation apparatus, comprising - a main body intended to be carried by the head of a user and including a front central element and a holding member connected to said front central element to keep the main body stationary relative to the head of the user, - a blower module for generating an air flow, which is distant from said main body and connected to the latter by at least one air supply pipe, said front central element carrying an air distribution outlet for blowing said air flow towards the user's respiratory tract, said main body being designed and configured to ensure positioning of said air distribution outlet at a distance from said respiratory tract and in a centered manner along a vertical axis included in a median sagittal plane of the user's head, said air distribution outlet comprising an air outlet opening having a free surface area of between 10 cm2 and 42 cm2, and a porous air flow homogenization medium, which covers said air outlet opening.

[0028] The invention relates to an assisted ventilation apparatus 1, 1 1 ” which is individually portable, i.e. portable on the user (male or female). It is therefore advantageously an active respiratory equipment which is designed and configured to be worn on the user, and to deliver to the latter a flow of air (forced) from ambient air. It is preferably an apparatus 1, 1 1 ” intended for use in a domestic setting and / or in the context of the exercise of a professional activity, by a user who is devoid of particular professional skills in the field of respiratory health. Three different embodiments of an apparatus 1, 1 1 ” according to the invention are illustrated as examples in the figures.
[0029] The apparatus 1, 1', 1” according to the invention comprises a main body 2, 2', 2” which is intended to be worn by the head of a user (or “wearer”), and therefore in contact with the latter. Said main body 2, 2', 2” is therefore intended to be worn by the user at the level of his head, and typically at least partially around the head, that is to say that, when worn, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” at least partially surrounds the head of the user. The main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” therefore has in particular a shape and a mass advantageously adapted to be worn by the head of the user. The main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” includes a front central element 3, 3', 3”, that is to say an element which is intended to be positioned at the front of the user's head, that is to say opposite at least a part of the latter's face, advantageously in a substantially centered manner along a vertical axis (or at least along an axis orthogonal to a transverse plane of the user's head) included in a median sagittal plane Ps of the user's head. Advantageously, the front central element 3, 3', 3” has a front face, which is oriented towards the outside of the main body 2, 2', 2” and is intended to be oriented towards the front of the user when using the device 1, 1', 1”, the user looking in front of him. The front face advantageously defines a portion of visible external surface of the main body 2, 2', 2”. The front central element 3, 3', 3” advantageously has a rear face opposite said front face. The rear face is oriented towards the inside of the main body 2, 2', 2”, and therefore opposite the body, and in particular the face, of . the user in use of the device 1, 1', 1”. Advantageously, the front central element 3, 3', 3” has a generally curved shape, intended to follow at least part of the user's face. The front central element 3, 3', 3” carries an air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4”, for blowing the air flow towards the respiratory tract (nostrils and / or mouth) of the user. For example, as illustrated in the figures, the front central element 3, 3', 3” comprises an air distribution element 5, 5', 5”, which includes, defines, said air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4”.
[0030] The main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” further includes a holding member 6, 6', 6”, connected to said front central element 3, 3', 3”, to hold the main body 2, 2', 2” (substantially) immobile relative to the user's head. It is therefore a member for holding the main body 2, 2', 2” to the user's head, in an immobile position relative to the latter. Advantageously, the holding member 6, 6', 6” is thus configured to surround the user's head sufficiently to ensure stable immobile holding of the main body 2, 2', 2” around at least part of the user's head. As in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, when worn by the user, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” is thus advantageously arranged and held at a distance from the shoulders, torso and back of the user. Thus immobilized relative to the user's head, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” follows the movements (rotation, flexion, extension) of said head, the front central element 3, 3', 3” maintaining its position relative to the face of the user. Wearing the device 1, 1', 1” is thus particularly comfortable for the user, whose hands can advantageously remain free, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” advantageously accompanying the movements of the user, and in particular of his head, without particularly hindering or impeding them.
[0031] Advantageously, the main body 2, 2', 2” has, at least in a configuration of use, a general shape that is at least partially annular (i.e. semi-annular or annular). Here, the term “annular” advantageously means that the main body 2, 2', 2” advantageously has a ring shape, substantially oval or circular, or even rectangular. The term “partially annular” advantageously means a shape open up to a third or even a quarter of a turn of the ring, which, if it were continuous, would then be annular. For example, in the embodiments respectively illustrated in Figures 1 to 7 and 12 to 16, the main body 2, 2' has a general annular shape closed on itself, while in the embodiment illustrated in Figures 8 to 11, the main body 2' has a general shape that is partially annular (or “semi-annular”), and therefore not closed on itself.
[0032] As illustrated in the example figures, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” is designed and configured to ensure positioning (and maintenance) of said air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” at a distance from said respiratory tract and in a centered manner along a vertical axis (or at least along an axis orthogonal to a transverse plane of the user's head) included in the median sagittal plane Ps of the user's head. Thus, when the device 1, 1', 1” is worn by the user, the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” is advantageously located opposite and at a distance from the respiratory tract by the user, therefore without contact with the latter, which allows a particularly precise and effective non-intrusive distribution of air towards the user's respiratory tract. Thus arranged, said air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” is preferably designed and configured so as to blow the air flow in an upward or horizontal average direction towards the user's respiratory tract. As illustrated in the figures, the device 1, 1', 1” is advantageously devoid of any part or element provided, that is to say specifically designed and configured, to ensure an airtight seal between the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” and all or part of the user's respiratory tract.
[0033] The device 1, 1', 1” also comprises a blower module 7, 7', 7” for generating said air flow (or “motor fan unit” (MFU)), therefore intended to be blown towards the user's respiratory tract via the aforementioned air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4”. As illustrated by way of example in Figures 1, 8 and 12 in particular, the blower module 7, 7', 7” is distant (and therefore separated) from said main body 2, 2', 2” and is connected to the latter by at least one air supply pipe 8, 8', 8”, at least when the device 1, 1, 1” is in use. It should be noted here that since the attached figures are schematic views, the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8” is not necessarily illustrated in the scale to the said figures. Thus, the blower module 7, 7', 7” is therefore offset from the main body 2, 2', 2”, and supplies air to the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” carried by the front central element 3, 3', 3” of the main body 2, 2', 2” via said air supply pipe 8, 8', 8”. The latter is advantageously flexible for greater comfort of use of the device 1, 1', 1”, preferably transparent or translucent for the sake of discretion. For example, the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8” may be made of elastomer (for example, silicone or ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM)), polyurethane, or even PVC. Advantageously, the device 1, 1', 1” comprises a secondary body 9, 9', 9”, inside which the blower module 7, 7', 7” is arranged. Advantageously forming a housing. Said secondary body 9, 9', 9” is therefore distinct and separate from the main body 2, 2', 2”.Connected in air communication to the main body 2, 2', 2” by means of the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8”, the secondary body 9, 9', 9”, comprises at least one air inlet 10, 10', 10” for sucking in. outside air and generate said air flow from the latter using the blower module 7, 7', 7”. Such a remote nature of the blower module 7, 7', 7” relative to the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1”, contributes to giving said main body 2, 2', 2” a particularly light and compact character, comfortable to wear. This also makes it possible to avoid the generation of noise and vibrations, by the blower module 7, 7', 7”, in the immediate vicinity of the user's head during operation of the device 1, 1', 1”.
[0034] The air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” carried by the front central element 3, 3', 3” comprises an air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” (or air outlet orifice), preferably a single one, which has a free surface area (or useful section) of between 10 cm2 and 42 cm2. Preferably, the free surface area of the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” is more precisely between 10 cm2 and 35 cm2, and even more preferably between 15 cm2 and 30 cm2. Said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” is typically delimited by a peripheral edge 12, 12', 12”, which therefore defines said free surface area.In addition, the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” comprises a porous medium 13, 13', 13” for homogenizing the air flow, which covers (fully) said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, that is to say that the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” comprises an air-permeable element which is intended to homogenize the air flow exiting through said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, and which is arranged opposite (or in) said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” so as to close, to occupy, the latter in a non-tight manner from said air flow. The porous media 13, 13', 13” is advantageously distinct from the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, to which said porous media 13, 13', 13” is attached. For example, the porous media 13, 13', 13” may be arranged to cover said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, said porous media 13, 13', 13” being secured to the peripheral edge 12, 12', 12” of the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, or at least in the immediate vicinity of the latter, for example by gluing or welding.
[0035] It has been observed that the implementation of the porous media 13, 13', 13” covering the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” of the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” makes it possible to homogenize the blown air flow in a particularly advantageous manner, in particular in terms of the speed profile of said air flow, by inducing a controlled air pressure drop. While it is generally sought to limit air pressure drops within air circuits, the apparatus 1 of the invention thus, on the contrary, implements a porous media 13, 13', 13” designed to deliberately generate an additional controlled pressure drop at the outlet of the apparatus 1, 1', 1”. It is thus possible to direct and distribute in a particularly efficient and precise manner a large quantity of forced air towards the respiratory tracts of the user from the air distribution opening 4, 4', 4” which is arranged at a distance from said respiratory tracts, with minimal disturbance by possible ambient air currents external to the device 1, 1', 1”.
[0036] Thanks to the particular combination of characteristics set out above of the device 1, 1', 1” according to the invention, the latter has great efficiency and in particular excellent aeraulic properties in terms of distribution of the air flow to the user, while being particularly easy and pleasant to use, in particular in a situation of mobility of the user.
[0037] Advantageously, as in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” is designed and configured to ensure positioning (i.e. arrangement and maintenance in position) of the front central element 3, 3', 3” away from the user's face and therefore away from the latter's respiratory tract, when the main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” is worn by the user, advantageously centered along a vertical axis (or at least along an axis orthogonal to a transverse plane of the user's head) included in the median sagittal plane Ps of the user's head. This thus advantageously contributes to the comfort of use of the apparatus 1, 1', 1”.
[0038] Preferably, as illustrated as an example in the figures, the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11” has an axis of symmetry X-X', which is oriented to be arranged coplanar with the median sagittal plane Ps of the head of the user when using the apparatus 1, 1', 1”, so as to optimize the distribution of air to the respiratory tract of the user. Said axis of symmetry X-X' may constitute a longitudinal axis of symmetry X-X' of said air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”. For example, as in the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 8 to 11, the air outlet opening 11, 11' may be of generally rectangular shape, advantageously curved, and said axis of symmetry X-X' then extends orthogonally to a longitudinal extension direction of the air outlet opening 11, 11'.More preferably, however, as in the embodiments illustrated in Figures 1 to 7 and 12 to 16, the air outlet opening 11, 11” is of generally triangular, ovoid or trapezoidal shape having an axis of symmetry X-X' which is oriented to be arranged coplanar with the median sagittal plane Ps of the head of the user in use of the device 1, 1', 1” (Figures 5 and 15). Here, a “general ovoid shape” is advantageously understood to mean that the contour of the air outlet opening delimited by the peripheral edge, seen in orthogonal projection in a plane, has the general shape of an egg in longitudinal section, which extends along said axis of symmetry between a rounded base (or large base) and an opposite rounded apex (or small base), the rounded base having a greater width than the rounded apex. A "general triangular shape" is advantageously understood to mean that the outline . of the air outlet opening delimited by the peripheral edge, seen in orthogonal projection in a plane, has the general shape of a triangle, advantageously the general shape of an isosceles or equilateral triangle, a height of which extends along said axis of symmetry of the air outlet opening (the angles of the triangular shape may advantageously be rounded). Respectively, a "general trapezoidal shape" is advantageously understood to mean that the contour of the air outlet opening 11, 11” delimited by the peripheral edge 12, 12”, seen in orthogonal projection in a plane, has the general shape of a trapezium, and specifically again the general shape of an isosceles trapezium. The outline of the air outlet opening 11, 11” thus takes the general form of a convex quadrilateral having two parallel opposite sides, which extends along said axis of symmetry X-X' between a large base and a small base, two adjacent angles at the same one of said bases being equal. This is a “general” trapezoidal shape in the sense in particular that, as appears in the figures, the angles of the trapezoidal shape are advantageously rounded, so as to connect two adjacent angles together by a concavity curve oriented towards the center of the air outlet opening 11, 11”.Advantageously, the main body 2, 2” of the device 1, 1” is designed and configured so that when the device 1, 1” is in use, the air outlet opening 11, 11” is positioned opposite the user’s respiratory tract, a large base (rounded base of the general ovoid shape or large base of the general trapezoidal shape) of the air outlet opening 11, 11” being arranged at an altitude lower than a respective altitude of the small base (rounded top of the general ovoid shape or small base of the general trapezoidal shape) of the air outlet opening 11, 11”. Thus, a lower portion of the air outlet opening 11, 11” comprising the large base of the latter is advantageously positioned opposite the user's mouth, while an upper portion of the air outlet opening 11, 11” comprising the small base of the latter is advantageously positioned opposite the user's nose and nostrils.Such a preferential conformation of the exit opening. air distribution outlet 11, 11” advantageously makes it possible to further improve the aeraulic properties of the device 1, 1” and in particular to optimize the quantity of air distributed by the device 1 towards the respiratory tract of the user and actually inhaled by the latter, while the device 1, 1” operates as an open system, i.e. without a sealing element between the air distribution outlet 4, 4” and the respiratory tract of the user. In use of the device 1, 1”, while the air distribution outlet 4, 4” is typically arranged at an average distance of between 1 cm and 8 cm, and more preferably of between 2 cm and 6 cm, from the respiratory tract of the user, between 80% and 100% (and preferably at least 90%) of the air inhaled by the user can thus advantageously come from the air flow generated and blown by the device 1, 1”. In the preferred case which will be described later, in which the device 1,1” more specifically constitutes a device 1, 1” for air filtration with assisted ventilation, between 80% and 100%, and preferably at least 90% of the air inhaled by the user can thus advantageously come from the flow of purified air generated and blown by the device 1, 1”. Obviously, such an air outlet opening 11, 11” of generally triangular, ovoid or trapezoidal shape could be implemented on a device 1' such as that of figures 8 to 11. Conversely, an air outlet opening 11, 11” of generally rectangular shape, as illustrated as an example for the embodiment of figures 8 to 11, could be implemented on a device 1, 1” such as that of figures 1 to 7 or figures 12 to 16.
[0039] In order to further optimize the distribution of the air flow towards the user's respiratory tract while further limiting on the one hand the disturbances likely to be generated by an ambient air current external to the device 1, 1', 1", and on the other hand the possible discomfort felt when wearing the device 1, 1', 1", said device 1, 1', 1" is preferably designed and configured to ensure positioning of the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4" at an average distance from the user's respiratory tract which is between 1 cm and 8 cm, and preferably between 2 cm and 6 cm. Typically, such remote positioning can be ensured by adequate dimensioning of the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1”, and in particular of the holding member 6, 6', 6” of said main body 2, 2', 2” relative to the user's head.
[0040] In the preferred case where the air outlet opening 11, 11” is of generally triangular, ovoid or trapezoidal shape as mentioned previously, the air outlet opening 11, 11” preferably has a maximum height Hmax, considered along the axis of symmetry X-X' of the air outlet opening 11, 11”, which is between 2 cm and 7 cm, and a maximum width Lmax, considered along a direction orthogonal to said axis of symmetry X-X', which is between 3 cm and 7 cm, preferably between 4 cm and 6 cm (Figures 3, 6 and 13). For example, the air outlet opening 11, 11” has a free surface area equal to approximately 20 cm2, a maximum height Hmax of 5.7 cm and a maximum width Lmax of 4.5 cm.Such sizing allows for further improvement of the airflow distribution, particularly in the above-mentioned ranges of average distance between the 4.4” air distribution outlet and the airways, while allowing relatively compact sizing of the 3.3” front central element, and in particular of the 5.5” air distribution element thereof.
[0041] The porous media 13, 13', 13” is preferably designed and configured to apply to the air flow generated by the blower module 7, 7', 7”, and reaching the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, an air pressure drop of between 5 Pa and 80 Pa, and preferably between 15 Pa and 20 Pa, which allows optimal homogenization of the airflow outlet velocity profile towards the user's respiratory tract. Such an impact in terms of pressure loss can be easily characterized by comparing aeraulic performance measurements of the device 1 carried out with and without porous media 13, 13', 13” associated with the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”. Typically, the level of air pressure loss induced by the porous media 13, 13', 13” may depend on the thickness of the porous media 13, 13', 13” to be crossed by the air flow, the surface area of the porous media 13, 13', 13”, the dimensions of the pores or meshes or even the porosity (or void ratio) of the porous media 13, 13', 13”.
[0042] Preferably, the porous media 13, 13', 13” has a porosity of between 28% and 45%. Advantageously, particularly in terms of simplicity of design and manufacturing cost, the porous media 13, 13', 13” preferably comprises at least one piece of fabric (woven or non-woven), preferably with a constant mesh. Even more advantageously, the porous media 13, 13', 13” comprises two pieces of fabric arranged one behind the other in the direction of circulation of the air flow, and preferably arranged superimposed and pressed against each other. Preferably, said pieces of fabric have identical meshes. It has indeed been observed that such an association of two pieces of fabric advantageously makes it possible to further improve the homogenization of the air flow downstream of the air outlet opening 11, 11', 11”, that is to say at the outlet of the air distribution element 5, 5', 5”.For example, the porous media 13, 13', 13” may comprise two identical pieces of fabric, each having a mesh that defines a void percentage of 36%, said mesh being formed by interlacing warp and weft threads with a diameter of 0.100 mm, with a mesh width of 0.150 mm. Preferably, the piece(s) of fabric is metallic, and more preferably made of stainless steel. This gives the porous media 13, 13', 13” in particular very good mechanical robustness, and in particular very good resistance to tearing and perforation in use, transport, maintenance of the device 1, 1', 1”. However, other materials could alternatively be considered, such as paper or fabric (based on natural or synthetic fibers).
[0043] For example, as in the embodiment of Figures 1 to 7, the holding member 6 of the main body 2 relative to the user's head may comprise: - two lateral branches 6A, 6B (namely a right lateral branch 6A and a left lateral branch 6B), preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which are each connected to the front central element 3 by one of their respective ends, and each have a curved portion which is shaped and configured to come into contact against the user's head by surmounting a corresponding ear of the user, and - a posterior arch 6C, preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which connects said branches 6A, 6B together by a respective opposite end of the latter, and which is shaped and configured to surround the back of the user's head and come to bear against the back of the user's head (advantageously opposite the occipital bone of the head, or the nape of the neck, the posterior arch 6C then forming an occipital arch).
[0044] Alternatively, as in the embodiment of figures 8 to 11, the holding member 6' of the main body 2' relative to the user's head may comprise: - a single lateral branch 6B' (namely a right lateral branch or a left lateral branch 6B'), preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which is connected to the front central element 3' by one of its ends, and has a curved portion which is shaped and configured to come into contact against the user's head by surmounting a first ear of the user, - an ear support portion 6A' shaped and configured to surmount and surround at least part of the base of the auricle of a second ear of the user (namely therefore a left ear support portion or a right ear support portion 6A'), and - a posterior arch 6C', preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which connects together said lateral branch 6B', by an opposite end of the latter, to said auricular holding portion 6A', and which is shaped and configured to surround the back of the user's head and to bear against the back of the user's head (advantageously opposite the occipital bone of the head, or the nape of the neck, the posterior arch 6C' then forming an occipital arch). In this case, the auricular holding portion 6A' is therefore only connected to the front central element 3' via the posterior arch 6C' and the lateral branch 6B'.
[0045] Alternatively, as in the embodiment of figures 12 to 16, the holding member 6” of the main body 2” relative to the user's head may comprise:
[0046] - two portions of ear loop 6A”, 6B” (namely a portion of loop at right ear loop 6A” and a portion of left ear loop 6B”), preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which are each connected to the front central element 3”, and are each shaped and configured to come into contact (at least locally) against the user's head by surrounding the base of the pinna of a corresponding ear of the user, and - a posterior arch 6C”, preferably rigid or semi-rigid, which connects said ear loop portions 6A”, 6B”, together and which is shaped and configured to surround the back of the user’s head and come to bear against the back of the user’s head (advantageously opposite the occipital bone of the head, or the nape of the neck, the posterior arch 6C” then forming an occipital arch).
[0047] For example, said ear loop portions 6A”, 6B” are connected to the front central element 3” via a face mask portion 14” which the front central element 3” may advantageously comprise, and which will be described later.
[0048] The implementation of a posterior arch 6C, 6C', 6C”, as in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, rather than for example an upper arch which would be shaped and configured to surround the top of the user's head and come to bear against the top of the user's head, makes it possible to ensure a more effective, more stable holding of the main body 2, 2', 2” immobile relative to the user's head, in particular by limiting a risk of the main body 2, 2', 2” tilting forward and downward of the user's head. Furthermore, the use of two lateral branches 6A, 6B or two ear loops 6A”, 6B”, as described above, makes it possible to ensure a potentially more effective holding of the main body 2, 2', 2” in position relative to the user's head than with a single lateral branch 6B'.
[0049] Optionally, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” further comprises adjustment means for adjusting at least one characteristic dimension and / or modifying a spatial conformation of the holding member 6, 6', 6” of the main body 2, 2', 2” relative to the user's head, and thus adjusting the main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” to the user. The adjustment means may for example comprise one or more telescopic portions of the holding member 6, 6', 6”, and / or one or more flexible shape-memory portions of the holding member 6, 6', 6”, and / or one or more elastically deformable portions of the holding member 6, 6', 6”, etc.
[0050] Preferably, as in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, the front central element 3, 3', 3” comprises an airtight face mask portion 14, 14', 14” which is intended to come opposite at least the mouth and nose of the user, or at least the lower part of the nose which carries the nostrils. Said face mask portion 14, 14', 14” thus advantageously forms a screen, a windbreak, making it possible to limit the risk of disruption of the air flow blown by the device 1, 1', 1” by frontal and / or lateral air currents, and therefore contributing to improving the aeraulic performance of the device 1, 1', 1” in terms of the quantity of blown air actually breathed by the user. The implementation of such a face mask part 14, 14', 14” advantageously makes it possible to avoid the use, for example, of additional air blowing outlets designed to form front and / or side air blades for protection against air currents, which would make the design of the device 1, 1', 1” more complex, more bulky and more expensive. Advantageously, the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” has a generally curved shape, to follow at least part of the user's face. Preferably, the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” is designed and configured to leave the user's eyes unobstructed, i.e., not to come into contact with the user's eyes. It is thus possible for the user to simultaneously wear glasses. Advantageously, the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” forms a rigid or semi-rigid shell (i.e., rigid while retaining a certain flexibility). Optionally, the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” may comprise an airtight portion which is flexible and held in position by a rigid or semi-rigid frame. The face mask portion 14, 14', 14” may advantageously be transparent, at least locally, in order to reduce the visual masking effect of the user's face for third parties.
[0051] As illustrated by example in the figures, the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” may be provided to come opposite a more or less significant portion of the user's face, depending on whether it is desired to favor more or less the aeraulic performances of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” in relation to the size of the face by the face mask portion 14, 14', 14”. In the embodiment of figures 8 to 11, the face mask portion 14' is thus for example shaped and dimensioned to come opposite only the mouth and the lower part of the nose which carries the nostrils (figures 10 and 11). Conversely, in the embodiment of figures 12 to 16, the face mask portion 14” is shaped and dimensioned to come opposite the mouth, nose and cheeks of the user, thus forming a half-mask which covering an entire lower portion of the user's face including the user's nose and mouth (figures 14 to 16).In the embodiment of figures 1 to 8, intermediate variants are implemented (figures 1 to 5 on the one hand, and 6 and 7 on the other hand) between the configuration of the embodiment of figures 6 to 9 (“minimal” covering of the face) and the configuration of the embodiment of figures 12 to 16 (“maximum” covering of the face).
[0052] Preferably, the main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” is designed and configured to ensure that said face mask portion 14, 14', 14” of the front central element 3, 3', 3” (if not the entire front central element 3, 3', 3” as previously envisaged) is held at a distance from the user's face, i.e. without contact with the latter, and preferably at a distance from said face which is between 1 cm and 8 cm. This makes it possible in particular to give the main body 2, 2', 2” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” great wearing comfort for the user, while allowing easy evacuation of the air exhaled by the latter through the space thus left free between the face mask portion 14, 14', 14” and the user's face.
[0053] Depending in particular on the configuration and conformation of the organ of holding 6, 6', 6” of the main body 2, 2', 2” relative to the user's head, and as in the embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 to 7, the main body 2 of the device 1 optionally comprises a support member 15 which is connected to the front central element 3 to ensure support of the front central element 3 of the device 1 against a part of the user's face, for example against the latter's chin. Said support member 15 thus makes it possible to make the positioning and maintenance of the main body 2 of the device 1 reliable relative to the user's head, while contributing to ensuring maintenance of the air outlet opening 4 at a distance from the respiratory tract, and more generally and advantageously, maintenance of the front central element 3 (including, where appropriate, said aforementioned face mask part 14) at a distance from the user's face.Advantageously, said support member 15 can therefore contribute to forming said holding member 6 of the main body 2 of the apparatus 1 immobile relative to the head of the user, that is to say that said holding member 6 can therefore advantageously comprise said support member 15. For example, as in the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 7, said support member 15 can be designed and configured to ensure support of the front central element 3 against the chin of the user. Advantageously, said support member 15 can be an adjustable support member, that is to say that it can be designed and configured to allow the user to adjust the position of the front central element 3, relative to his face and his respiratory tract, to adapt the apparatus 1 to his morphology.
[0054] As in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, the holding member 6, 6', 6” of the main body 2, 2', 2” immobile relative to the user's head preferably comprises at least one internal air duct 16A, 16B, 16B', 16A”, 16B”, to channel the air flow generated by the blower module 7, 7', 7” towards the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4” carried by the front central element 3, 3', 3”. Said internal air duct 16A, 16B, 16B', 16A”, 16B” is thus provided with an air inlet 17A, 17B, 17B', 17A”, 17B” to which the pipe 8 is connected (directly or indirectly). 8', 8” air supply, and an opposite air outlet, which is therefore respectively connected to the front central element 5, 5', 5”, and in particular to the air distribution element 5, 5', 5” of the latter, to conduct the air flow towards the air distribution outlet 4, 4', 4”.The implementation of an internal air duct 16A, 16B, 16B', 16A”, 16B” arranged in said holding member 6, 6', 6” advantageously contributes to the ergonomics and wearing comfort of the device 1, 1', 1”, but also to its general aesthetics, by moving the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8” away from the face and throat of the user. In the mode of figures 8 to 11, the holding member 6' comprises a single internal air duct 16B', which makes it possible to simplify the design of the device 1'. In the embodiments of Figures 1 to 7 and Figures 12 to 16, the holding member 6, 6” may comprise at least two separate internal air ducts 16A, 16B, 16A”, 16B”, which makes it possible to optimize the distribution of the air flow.
[0055] In a particularly preferential manner, and as illustrated in the figures, the air inlet 17A, 17B, 17B', 17A”, 17B” of the (or each of) the internal air duct(s) 16A, 16B, 16A”, 16B” is carried by a portion 6D, 6D', 6D” (or “rear air inlet portion”) of said holding member 6, 6', 6” which is intended to (i.e. designed and configured to) be arranged at the rear of the user's head, preferably in a centered manner relative to the median sagittal plane Ps of the user's head. The main body 2, 2', 2” of the device is therefore preferably designed and configured so that, when the main body 2, 2', 2” is worn by the user, the air inlet 17A, 17B, 17B', 17A”, 17B” of the (or each) of the internal air duct(s) 16A, 16B, 16A”, 16B” is arranged at the back of the user's head.Advantageously, as in the embodiments illustrated in the figures, said rear air inlet portion 6D, 6D', 6D” of the holding member 6, 6', 6” is defined by (or carried by) the rear hoop 6C, 6C', 6C” of the latter. For example, said rear air inlet portion 6D, 6D', 6D” of the holding member 6, 6', 6” is provided with an air inlet port 18, 18', 18”, advantageously oriented downwards (when the main body 2, 2', 2” is carried by the user), to which the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8” is connected. This gives the device 1, 1', 1” an even more ergonomic, more comfortable and more aesthetic character, but also more reliable, to the extent that the risk of involuntary movement of the main body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1” is further limited in the event of traction exerted on the air supply pipe 8, 8', 8” or of swinging of the latter under the effect of a movement or displacement of the user..
[0056] Preferably, the secondary body 9, 9', 9” of the apparatus 1, 1', 1” is provided with a fixing member 19, 19', 19” for fixing the secondary body 9, 9', 9” relative to a part of the user's body distant from the user's head, such as for example an arm or the hip. The fixing member 19, 19', 19” for example comprises a pair of straps 19A, 19B, 19A', 19B', 19A”, 19B” provided with self-gripping means (velvet-hook type, [Fig. 17]) for fixing the secondary body 9, 9', 9” around an arm of the user, or a spring clip or a clip made of elastically deformable material for fixing the secondary body 9, 9', 9” to a belt, a trouser pocket or even a backpack carried by the user. Thus, the device 1, 1', 1” can practically and comfortably equip the user in a mobile situation.
[0057] According to a preferred variant, as in the embodiment illustrated in the figures, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” more specifically constitutes an air treatment apparatus 1, 1', 1” with assisted ventilation, and even more preferably an air filtration apparatus 1, 1', 1” with assisted ventilation. In other words, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” is therefore designed and configured to deliver to the user a flow of treated air, and preferably filtered, purified, and forced from ambient air. As such, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” therefore advantageously comprises an air filtration device 20, 20', 20”, typically including one or more air filters, or is at the very least specifically designed and configured to be used in combination with such an air filtration device.Preferably at least partially removable in order to facilitate maintenance or replacement, the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” is advantageously arranged inside the secondary body 9, 9', 9”, upstream and / or downstream of the fan of the blower module 7, 7', 7” in consideration of the direction of circulation of the air within the secondary body 9, 9', 9”. The arrangement of the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” in the secondary body 9, 9', 9”, and not in the main body 2, 2', 2”, makes it possible to limit the size and weight of the latter, while facilitating the design of the device 1, 1', 1”. For example, the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” may comprise one or more air filters advantageously arranged between the air inlet 10, 10', 10” and the fan, which also makes it possible to limit the risk of the fan becoming clogged. The role of the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” is to separate from the surrounding ambient air, and to retain or destroy, one or more undesirable substances or particles present in suspension, solid(s) or in aerosol(s) in the surrounding ambient air, so that the forced air flow delivered by the device 1, 1', 1” to the user is depleted, preferably significantly, in undesirable substances or particles initially present in the surrounding ambient air. Examples of solid particles include dust, fumes, and solid atmospheric pollutants. The term “aerosol” here preferably refers to a set of fine particles, solid or liquid, of a substance or a mixture of substances, suspended in a gaseous medium, and which generally have a negligible fall speed, less than 0.25 m / s.In ambient air, under normal conditions, this typically corresponds to particles with dimensions less than 100 pm. This definition covers aerosols containing particles of microbial origin (viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.), animal or even plant origin (pollens, allergens, etc.), also called bioaerosols. The air filtration device 20, 20', 20” is designed and configured, typically in terms of choice of filter(s), according to the level of filtration performance sought for one or more substances to be filtered. Preferably, the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” of . the device 1, 1', 1” is designed and configured to retain aerosols. It advantageously comprises one or more air filters, in particular one or more class PI and / or class P2 filters, as defined in particular in the French standards NF EN 143:2000 and NF EN 143 / A1:2006, and which stop at least 80% of aerosols (class PI) or at least 94% of aerosols (class P2). Preferably, these are HEPA filters (i.e. so-called “High Efficiency Air Particle” filters). The term HEPA applies to any device capable of filtering, in one pass, at least 99.97% of particles with a diameter greater than or equal to 0.3 pm. The air filtration device 29 may comprise several identical or different air filters, such as example an activated carbon filter arranged upstream of a HEPA filter, or two HEPA filters arranged one behind the other.Still other filters may be considered, depending on the nature of the particles or substances to be filtered, and depending on the corresponding expected filtration performance level, such as for example filters based on polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) or ceramic. Optionally, the device 1 may comprise a particle sensor and a device for controlling the rotation speed of the fan, connected to said particle sensor and / or volatile organic compound(s), to adapt the rotation speed of the fan (and therefore the flow rate of the generated airflow) according to the particle content and / or volatile organic compound(s) in the air to be filtered. The particle sensor and the device for controlling the rotation speed of the fan are then, for example, arranged inside the secondary body 2, 2', 2” of the device 1, 1', 1”.
[0058] According to this preferred variant, the device 1, 1', 1” thus advantageously constitutes assisted ventilation respiratory protection equipment, the use of which contributes to protecting the health and quality of life of the user, in particular in a context of atmospheric pollution or even a microbial pandemic / epidemic. The generation of a forced air flow by the device 1, 1', 1” also offers the advantage of compensating for a loss of air pressure that could be generated by the air filtration device 20, 20', 20”.
[0059] Preferably, the air filtration device 20, 20', 20” comprises at least one air filter, which has a useful surface area in contact with the air which is between 150 cm2 and 600 cm2, and preferably between 180 cm2 and 500 cm2. By "useful surface area in contact with the air", is here advantageously meant the total surface area of a filtering surface (or upstream filtering surface) of the air filter which is in contact with the incoming air to be filtered. Such preferential ranges of useful surface area in contact with the air make it possible to define a high exchange surface area with the air, and therefore to obtain effective filtering, with a relatively limited air pressure loss induced by the air filter, and while maintaining sufficient air passage speeds. Conveniently, the air filter is a pleated filter, which allows the air filter to have a high useful air contact surface, preferably within the above-mentioned surface area ranges, while having a controlled total footprint. In this case, the useful air contact surface of the air filter therefore advantageously corresponds to the total surface area of the unfolded filtering surface of the air filter. The choice of the useful section and the volume of the air filter is likely to have a strong influence on the total air pressure losses of the device 1, 1', 1", the operating point of the fan and therefore the overall efficiency of the device 1, 1', 1". Furthermore, the volume of the air filter has an influence on the sizing of the secondary body 2, 2', 2", and therefore its portability by the user. This is why, in order to optimize the aeraulic operation of the device 1, 1', 1” while maintaining a well-controlled size of the secondary body 2, 2', 2” of the latter, the air filter preferably has a free inlet face and an opposite free outlet face, which each extend along a plane, and which each define a useful section (useful section of air passage through the air filter) advantageously between 900 mm2 and 6,000 mm2, preferably between 1,600 mm2 and 3,600 mm2, and more preferably between 2,025 mm2 and 5,000 mm2. Even more advantageously, the air filter has a thickness, measured between the free inlet face and the free outlet face, which is between 5 mm and 25 mm, preferably between 8 mm and 20 mm, and more preferably between 10 mm and 15 mm.For example, the air filter may advantageously have a square-based prism shape, the free inlet face and the free outlet face of which are square in shape with a side length of between 30 mm and 70 mm, and the thickness of which is between 5 mm and 25 mm. Even more preferably, the free inlet face and the free outlet face are square in shape with a side length of between 40 mm and 60 mm, and the thickness is between 8 mm and 20 mm. Even more preferably, the free inlet face and the free outlet face are square in shape with a side length of between 45 mm and 55 mm, and the thickness is between 10 mm and 15 mm. This being said, although a square-based prism shape is preferred, it is nevertheless possible for the air filter to have another shape, for example a cylinder with a circular base.
[0060] Alternatively, although in a more complex and more expensive manner to implement, the apparatus 1, 1', 1” could comprise, instead of the air filtration device 20, 20', 20”, an air treatment device designed and configured to treat air other than by filtration, and for example by ionization or even using ultraviolet (UV) light, in order to purify it. Alternatively again, the air treatment device could be designed and configured to treat air not in order to purify it, i.e. to rid it of undesirable substances, but to improve other characteristics for comfort and / or the preservation of health. respiratory system of the user. For example, the air treatment device could be designed and configured to humidify or dry air, to cool or heat air, or to scent air, prior to its delivery to the user.
[0061] According to another variant (not illustrated), the device could instead be devoid of any air filtration device, as described above. In this case, the device would therefore not be designed to filter or treat the ambient air before delivering it to the user in the form of a forced air flow. The device would nevertheless have the advantage of allowing the user to reduce breathing effort, by facilitating the circulation of air in the bronchi and lungs of the user. In this sense, the use of the device according to this second variant would contribute to protecting, or even improving, the state of health and quality of life of the user, in particular when the user is suffering from a malfunction of the respiratory system (poor functioning of the lungs, weakness of the respiratory muscles, etc.).
[0062] Typically, the blower module of the device 1, 1', 1” comprises a fan (or "motor-fan unit") including at least one electric motor and at least one propeller or fan wheel connected to the electric motor. Preferably, the fan is a centrifugal fan, or radial turbine fan, and even more preferably a centrifugal action fan (or "squirrel cage", i.e. a centrifugal fan whose blades are inclined forward in the direction of rotation). Such a fan has the advantage of allowing the generation of an air flow of high flow rate and pressure, with excellent efficiency, and for a limited space requirement. Advantageously, the fan then comprises a single air intake inlet, which simplifies the aeraulic design of the device 1 in particular.
[0063] Advantageously, the energy required for the electrical operation of the device 1, 1', 1", and in particular of the blower module, is provided by an electric accumulator battery, which is preferably arranged inside the secondary body 9, 9', 9" of the device 1, 1', 1". Advantageously, the electrical operation of the device 1, 1', 1" is controllable by the user via at least one on / off button (not shown), which is preferably carried by the secondary body 9, 9', 9". Typically, the device 1, 1', 1" comprises means (not shown) for controlling the operation of the blower module 7, 7', 7", to turn the latter on and off, as well as preferably to adjust the operation of said blower module 7, 7', 7" in order to modulate the flow rate of the generated air flow. by the latter. Said control means are advantageously carried by the secondary body 9, 9', 9” of the device 1.
