[0002] The technical solution relates to portable devices for storing, transferring and exchanging data, in particular flash drives (flash drives).
[0003] Portable storage devices for storing, transferring and exchanging data files are known, using flash memory as a carrier and connected to a computer, smartphone or other reading device via an electrical interface, such as USB (USB flash drives, flash drives). Most USB flash drives weigh less than 25 grams.
[0004] The disadvantages of flash drives are:
[0005] — a limited number of write-erase cycles, due to the specifics of the technology of the flash memory chips used and, as a consequence, low reliability of data storage.
[0006] — to transfer data from one computer to another, it is necessary to physically reconnect and move the flash drive between computers.
[0007] In order to increase the reliability of data storage and eliminate the physical transfer of the flash drive between computers, it is proposed to equip the flash drive with a radio interface for communication and automatic synchronization of the files recorded and stored on them with a similar flash drive (Fig. 1, Fig. 2). In this case, a similar flash drive is understood to be a flash drive with a radio interface for communication and automatic synchronization of stored data. Thus, if there is power supply and radio communication between them, after the synchronization process, one copy of each file will be on one flash drive, and another copy of each file on the other flash drive, i.e. the files will be duplicated. The file synchronization process can be initiated automatically, for example, after recording or erasing files on one of the drives, when establishing radio communication, or initiated by a command from the user (for example, by pressing a button). The folder structure of the file system can also be synchronized.Thus, the file structure on one drive will be similar to the file structure of another drive (the drives will be images of each other).

[0012] Since files can be large in size and the synchronization process between drives can take a significant amount of time, it is advisable to equip the drive with an indicator(s) of the synchronization process status (SYNC STATUS) to inform the user.
[0013] In order for synchronization to occur only between certain drives, it is necessary to combine the drives into a synchronization group using the "pairing" procedure. File synchronization can also occur with more than two drives, in which case they must all be combined into one synchronization group.
[0014] The radio interface can be organized using wireless data exchange systems Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or mobile communications.
