Abstract

To provide an optical tape fiber in which the eccentricity of the optical fiber strands is suppressed. [Solution] In a method for manufacturing optical tape fiber, multiple optical fiber strands are aligned in a line in a second slit portion 42 provided in a die, and the multiple optical fiber strands are coated collectively with an ultraviolet-curable resin supplied into the die. The second slit portion 42 has a first wall surface 421 along the alignment direction A2 in which the optical fiber strands are arranged, and a second wall surface 422 facing the first wall surface 421. The first wall surface 421 is provided with a first projection 431 that protrudes toward the second wall surface 422, and the second wall surface 422 is provided with a second projection 432 that protrudes toward the first wall surface 421. The first projection 431 and the second projection 432 are provided between the passing positions of adjacent optical fiber strands in the alignment direction A2, thereby aligning the multiple optical fiber strands.

Claims

1. In a method for manufacturing optical tape fibers, in which multiple optical fiber strands are aligned in a line through slits provided in a die, and the multiple optical fiber strands are coated collectively with an ultraviolet-curable resin supplied into the die, The slit has a first wall surface aligned with the arrangement direction in which the optical fiber strands are arranged, and a second wall surface facing the first wall surface. The first wall surface is provided with a first projection that protrudes toward the second wall surface. The second wall surface is provided with a second projection that protrudes toward the first wall surface. A method for manufacturing optical tape fiber, wherein the first projection and the second projection are provided between the passing positions of adjacent optical fiber strands among the plurality of optical fiber strands in the arrangement direction, thereby aligning the plurality of optical fiber strands.

2. In the method for manufacturing optical tape fibers according to claim 1, A method for manufacturing optical tape fiber, wherein the projection height of the first projection toward the second wall surface and the projection height of the second projection toward the first wall surface are less than or equal to the radius of the optical fiber strand.

3. In the method for manufacturing optical tape fibers according to claim 2, A method for manufacturing optical tape fibers, wherein the first projection and the second projection are provided at positions opposite to each other in the direction of arrangement.

4. In the method for manufacturing optical tape fibers according to claim 3, A method for manufacturing optical tape fiber, wherein the first projection and the second projection are provided at intervals corresponding to the outer diameter of the optical fiber strands in the arrangement direction.

5. In the method for manufacturing optical tape fibers according to claim 2, A method for manufacturing optical tape fibers, wherein the first projection and the second projection are provided at different positions in the arrangement direction.

6. In the method for manufacturing optical tape fibers according to claim 5, A method for manufacturing optical tape fiber, wherein at least one of the first projection and the second projection is provided at intervals of twice the outer diameter of the optical fiber strand in the arrangement direction.
