Description

Dispersion and cosmetic containing same

[0001] The present invention relates to a dispersion containing a hydrophobic inorganic powder and a cosmetic preparation containing this dispersion.

[0002] Inorganic powders such as titanium oxide and iron oxide are commonly used in makeup cosmetics. These inorganic powders have the effect of improving the covering power, hiding skin troubles, and making the skin appear brighter and more rosy, thereby improving the overall appearance.

[0003] These inorganic powders are used to prepare dispersions in order to improve the dispersibility and usability of cosmetics. Various techniques for dispersing such hydrophobically treated inorganic powders have been investigated to date (see Patent Document 1). Among these, polyglycerin-modified silicones are known to have high dispersibility in the above-mentioned powders (see Patent Document 2). However, no research has been conducted on the dispersion of inorganic powders in aqueous media using polyglycerin-modified silicones.

[0004] These inorganic powders may be subjected to hydrophobic surface treatment for the purpose of blending them into the oil phase of cosmetics or for improving their water resistance. By blending such hydrophobically surface-treated powders, it is expected that the makeup effect can be maintained even when wet (Patent Document 3). On the other hand, when blending inorganic powders into the aqueous phase, powders that have been hydrophilically surface-treated with silica or the like may be used. However, these hydrophilized powders have issues with water resistance and feel when used. Furthermore, as a method for dispersing hydrophobized powders in water, dispersions of hydrophobized inorganic powders using polyether-modified silicone have been investigated. However, these dispersions of hydrophobized inorganic powders have issues with water resistance and feel when used (Patent Documents 4 and 5).

[0005] Furthermore, a technique for obtaining dispersible powders by surface-treating powders using silicone surfactants is known. However, the dispersion and water resistance of inorganic powders have not been sufficiently investigated (Patent Document 6). For these reasons, there has been a demand for dispersions that have improved dispersibility and water resistance and provide a good feel when incorporated into cosmetics.

[0006] JP 2016-079148 A JP 2004-169015 A JP 2021-001213 A JP 2017-218433 A International Publication No. 2017 / 203846 JP 2020-002031 A

[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and aims to provide a dispersion that is excellent in dispersibility, particularly in aqueous media, water resistance, and feel in use (non-sticky). Another aim is to provide a cosmetic that incorporates this dispersion and is highly stable and excellent in water resistance and feel in use (non-sticky).

[0008] The present inventors have conducted extensive research to solve the above-mentioned problems, and as a result, have found that a dispersion containing the following components (a) to (d): (a) 10 to 85 mass % of a hydrophobized inorganic powder having a number average primary particle diameter of more than 200 nm but not more than 700 nm, as measured by image analysis of transmission electron micrographs; (b) 1.0 to 80 mass % of an aqueous component having two or more alcoholic hydroxyl groups; (c) 1.0 to 20 mass % of a polyglycerin-modified silicone that is soluble in component (b); and (d) 0 to 2 mass % of a polyglycerin-modified silicone that is insoluble in component (b), wherein the ratio of the content of component (d) to the content of component (c), expressed as (d) / (c), is 0.1 or less, provides a dispersion that is excellent in dispersibility, particularly dispersibility in aqueous media, water resistance, and usability (non-stickiness). Furthermore, they discovered that when incorporated into cosmetics, the resulting cosmetics do not cause problems such as viscosity reduction or gelation, and are highly stable, water-resistant, and have an excellent feel when used (non-sticky), leading to the completion of the present invention.

[0009] Accordingly, the present invention provides the following dispersion and a cosmetic composition containing the same. 1. A dispersion containing the following components (a) to (d): (a) 10 to 85% by mass of a hydrophobized inorganic powder having a number-average primary particle diameter of more than 200 nm and not more than 700 nm as measured by image analysis of transmission electron micrographs; (b) 1 to 80% by mass of an aqueous component having two or more alcoholic hydroxyl groups; (c) 1 to 20% by mass of a polyglycerin-modified silicone soluble in component (b); and (d) 0 to 2% by mass of a polyglycerin-modified silicone insoluble in component (b), wherein the ratio of the content of component (d) to the content of component (c), expressed as (d) / (c), is 0.1 or less. 2. The dispersion according to claim 1, wherein component (a) is an inorganic powder hydrophobized with silicone. 3. The dispersion according to claim 2, wherein the silicone is triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethylhexyl dimethicone. 4. The dispersion according to any one of 1 to 3, wherein the content of component (a) is 70 to 85% by mass. 5. The dispersion according to any one of 1 to 4, wherein component (a) is a color pigment. 6. The dispersion according to any one of 1 to 5, wherein component (c) is polyglyceryl-3 disiloxane dimethicone. 7. The dispersion according to any one of 1 to 6, wherein the content of component (c) is 3.0 to 8.0% by mass. 8. The dispersion according to any one of 1 to 7, wherein the ratio of the content of component (c) to the content of component (b), expressed as (c) / (b), is 0.1 to 0.4. 9. A cosmetic preparation containing the dispersion according to any one of 1 to 8.

[0010] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a dispersion of an inorganic powder that has excellent dispersibility, particularly in aqueous media, and excellent water resistance and a feeling of use (non-stickiness). In particular, it is possible to provide a highly stable dispersion even of titanium oxide fine particles, which are difficult to disperse. Furthermore, by incorporating this dispersion, it is possible to provide a cosmetic that has high stability, excellent water resistance, and a feeling of use (non-stickiness).

[0011] The present invention will be described in detail below. In the present invention, ingredient names may be written as cosmetic names or International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients (INCI). When the cosmetic name corresponds to the INCI, the cosmetic name or the English name may be omitted.

[0012] [Component (a)] The component (a) of the present invention is a hydrophobized inorganic powder having a number average primary particle diameter of more than 200 nm but not more than 700 nm, as measured by image analysis of transmission electron micrographs, and can be used singly or in combination of two or more types.

[0013] The number average primary particle diameter of component (a) measured by image analysis of a transmission electron microscope photograph is greater than 200 nm and not greater than 700 nm, preferably 220 to 650 nm. 240 to 600 nm is more preferable. A particle diameter greater than 700 nm may result in a heavy feel when used, while a particle diameter of 200 nm or less may result in a dry or squeaky feel, resulting in a poor feel when used. The average primary particle diameter of component (a) of the present invention is the number average diameter measured by image analysis of a transmission electron microscope photograph. When the powder is not spherical, the average value of the minor axis of the particles is taken as the average primary particle diameter.

[0014] The inorganic powder may be any raw material that can be generally incorporated into cosmetics, and may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Specific examples include color pigments. The color pigment is not particularly limited as long as it is a pigment that is normally used for coloring cosmetics, and examples thereof include red iron oxide (display name (INCI: Iron Oxides)), yellow iron oxide (display name (INCI: Iron Oxides)), white titanium oxide (display name (INCI: Titanium Dioxide)), black iron oxide (display name (INCI: Iron Oxides)), ultramarines (display name (INCI: Ultramarines)), ferric ferrocyanide (display name (INCI: Ferric Ferrocyanide, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide)), manganese violet (display name (INCI: Manganese Violet)), cobalt titanate (display name (INCI: Cobalt Titanium Oxide), chromium hydroxide (label name (INCI: Chromium Hydroxide Green)), chromium oxide (label name (INCI: Chromium Oxide Greens)), aluminum / cobalt oxide (label name (INCI: Cobalt Aluminum Oxide)), titanium / titanium oxide sintered product (label name (INCI: Titanium / Titanium Dioxide)), lithium / cobalt titanate (label name (INCI: Lithium Cobalt Titanate)), iron oxide / titanium oxide sintered product (label name), iron oxide-doped titanium oxide (label name (INCI: Iron Oxides, Titanium Any of the following pigments can be used: composites doped with a different metal such as titanium nitride (display name (INCI: Titanium Nitride)), ferrous hydroxide (display name (INCI: Iron Hydroxide)), inorganic brown pigments such as γ-iron oxide, inorganic yellow pigments such as ochre, colored pigments such as lakes of tar-based pigments and lakes of natural pigments. The shape of the pigment may be spherical, approximately spherical, rod-shaped, spindle-shaped, petal-shaped, strip-shaped, irregular, or the like, and there is no particular limitation on the geometric form as long as it is possible to impart color to the cosmetic.

[0015] In order to reduce cohesion or suppress the activity of the powder, inorganic powders may be surface-treated with silica, hydrous silica, alumina, aluminum hydroxide, or the like before hydrophobization. Note that alumina and aluminum hydroxide are not preferred as the surface treatment agents when blended into cosmetics, as they may inhibit the swelling of the water-soluble polymer compound used in combination or may reduce water resistance. It is preferable to not perform the above treatment before hydrophobization, or to use a composite powder that is surface-treated with hydrous silica, which suppresses the activity of the powder and is less likely to inhibit the swelling of the water-soluble polymer compound.

[0016] The hydrophobic inorganic powder can be obtained by hydrophobic treatment. The hydrophobic treatment agent is not particularly limited as long as it is a known treatment agent generally used in cosmetics. For example, silanes or silylating agents such as triethoxycaprylylsilane (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.: AES-3083), aminopropyltriethoxysilane, etc., dimethyl silicone (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.: KF-96AK series), methylhydrogen-type polysiloxanes such as hydrogen dimethicone (manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.: KF-99P, KF-9901, etc.), silicones such as triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethyl hexyl dimethicone, etc. Examples of suitable silicones include cone-branched silicones (e.g., KF-9908, KF-9909, etc., manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), waxes, paraffins, organic fluorine compounds such as perfluoroalkyl phosphates, surfactants, N-acyl glutamic acid and salts thereof, amino acids such as lauroyl lysine and sodium lauroyl aspartate, esters such as isostearyl sebacate and polyglyceryl triisostearate, metal soaps such as aluminum stearate and magnesium myristate, and isopropyl titanium triisostearate. In particular, silicone treatment is preferred in terms of dispersibility with component (c), and components containing one or more selected from triethoxycaprylylsilane, triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone, triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethylhexyl dimethicone, and hydrogen dimethicone are more preferred, with triethoxysilylethyl polydimethylsiloxyethylhexyl dimethicone being most preferred. The hydrophobic treatment method is not particularly limited, and any known method can be used, such as a wet treatment method, a dry treatment method, or a gas phase method.

[0017] Specific examples of color pigments that have been subjected to hydrophobic treatment include the KTP-09 series manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., particularly KTP-09W, KTP-09R, KTP-09Y, and KTP-09B.

[0018] The content of component (a) in the dispersion is 10 to 85% by mass, preferably 40 to 85% by mass, more preferably 70 to 85% by mass, and even more preferably 75 to 80% by mass. If it is less than 10% by mass, the viscosity of the dispersion may decrease, and the stability over time of the dispersion may decrease. If it is blended in more than 85% by mass, the spreadability during use may decrease, the stability over time of the dispersion may decrease, and the viscosity may increase.

[0019] [Component (b)] The component (b) of the present invention is an aqueous component having two or more alcoholic hydroxyl groups, i.e., a component that dissolves in water at 25° C., and can be used alone or in combination of two or more. By blending component (b), component (c) can be uniformly oriented on the surface of component (a). Specifically, sugar alcohols such as sorbitol (INCI), maltose (INCI), xylitol (INCI), glucose (INCI), glyceryl glucoside (INCI), sodium chondroitin sulfate (display name (INCI: Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate)), methyl gluceth-10 (INCI), methyl gluceth-20 (INCI), hyaluronic acid, phosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylinositol, BG (display name (INCI: Butylene Glycol)), PG (display name (INCI: Propylene Glycol)), DPG (display name (INCI: Dipropylene Glycol)), and the like. Glycol), pentylene glycol (INCI), 1,10-decanediol (INCI), octanediol (INCI), 1,2-hexanediol (INCI), and other glycols; and polyhydric alcohols such as erythritol (INCI), glycerin (INCI), diglycerin (INCI), and polyethylene glycol. Of these, glycols such as BG (butylene glycol) and DPG (dipropylene glycol), and polyhydric alcohols such as glycerin are preferred because they dissolve in water in any proportion, and furthermore, they offer a good feel when used and are versatile as a cosmetic ingredient. Glycols having two alcoholic hydroxyl groups in the molecule are particularly preferred.

[0020] The content of component (b) in the dispersion is 1.0 to 80% by mass, preferably 5 to 30% by mass, and more preferably 10 to 25% by mass. From the viewpoint of water resistance, 7 to 15% by mass is more preferable. From the viewpoint of stability over time, 15 to 25% by mass is more preferable, and 15 to 20% by mass is even more preferable. If the content is less than 1.0% by mass, the stability of the dispersion will be poor. By keeping the content at 30% by mass or less, stickiness of the cosmetic can be further suppressed, and the (b) component can be prevented from inhibiting the orientation of component (c) (described below) toward component (a) due to the incorporation of a large amount of component (b), and the viscosity will not become too high, thereby achieving better dispersibility in an aqueous medium.

[0021] [Component (c)] Component (c) of the present invention is a polyglycerin-modified silicone soluble in component (b), and can be used alone or in combination of two or more. By using a polyglycerin-modified silicone soluble in component (b), the polyglycerin-modified silicone can be incorporated into water and function as a dispersant for hydrophobically treated inorganic powders in water. The term "soluble in component (b)" refers to a transparent to translucent state without a boundary when component (c) is mixed with component (b) at a concentration of 20% by mass and then allowed to stand at 25°C. This refers to a "soluble" state, whereas a state where the mixture becomes cloudy or separates into two layers is considered "insoluble." Furthermore, the term "transparent to translucent state" refers to a total light transmittance of 50% or greater when the mixture is filled into a 1 cm thick cell and measured according to the method described in JIS K7361-1:1997. When component (b) is solid at 25°C, it is dissolved at or above its melting point, and the same judgment is made visually.

[0022] In terms of chemical structure, the (c) polyglycerin-modified silicone may be block-modified or graft-modified using polyglycerin, with the silicone chain serving as the main chain. From the viewpoint of maintaining uniform dispersibility of component (a) in the cosmetic, a branched-chain type is more preferable. The silicone main chain may have a branched chain such as a silicone chain. Specific examples include polyglyceryl-3 disiloxane dimethicone (INCI). From the viewpoint of water resistance, component (c) is preferably one that dissolves at 25°C when mixed in BG at a concentration of 20% by mass, and does not dissolve at 25°C when mixed in water at a concentration of 20% by mass. The polyglycerin-modified silicone of the present invention may be co-modified with hydrophilic groups other than polyglycerin groups, but at least 50% by mass of the hydrophilic groups are polyglycerin groups. From the viewpoint of water resistance, silicones modified only with polyglycerin groups are preferred.

[0023] Furthermore, the polyglycerin-modified silicone (c) used in the present invention preferably has an HLB (Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance) value of 3 or more and less than 17, more preferably 5 or more and less than 15, and even more preferably 8 or more and less than 12. If the HLB value is less than 3, the affinity for water is low, resulting in reduced dispersibility, and if the HLB value is 17 or more, there is a concern that water resistance may be reduced. The HLB is calculated by "(sum of formula weights of hydrophilic group moieties / total molecular weight) x 20".

[0024] The content of component (c) in the dispersion is 1.0 to 20% by mass, preferably 1 to 15% by mass, more preferably 2 to 10% by mass, and even more preferably 3 to 8% by mass. If the content is less than 1.0% by mass, the stability of the dispersion may be impaired. If the content exceeds 20% by mass, the component (c) may be further oriented to the component (a), or the component (c) that is not oriented to the component (a) may be easily peeled off. As a result, the viscosity of the dispersion itself may increase, and the dispersibility may be affected when dispersed in an aqueous medium.

[0025] Furthermore, the ratio of the content of component (c) to the content of component (b), expressed as (c) / (b), is preferably 0.1 to 1.2. In particular, from the viewpoints of dispersibility and water resistance, a ratio of 0.1 to 0.7 is preferred, and a ratio of 0.1 to 0.4 is even more preferred. By setting this ratio to 0.1 or more, it is possible to prevent component (b) from interfering with the orientation of component (c) toward component (a), thereby further suppressing an increase in viscosity and achieving better stability. By setting the ratio to 1.2 or less, component (c) is sufficiently dispersed in the dispersion medium, making it easier for component (c) to orient toward component (a), further suppressing an increase in viscosity and achieving better stability.

[0026] [Component (d)] The component (d) of the present invention is a polyglycerin-modified silicone that is insoluble in component (b), and can be used alone or in combination of two or more. The definition of "insoluble in component (b)" is as set forth above. Component (d) is a polyglycerin-modified silicone excluding component (c), and examples include non-crosslinked polyglycerin-modified silicones and crosslinked polyglycerin-modified silicones.

[0027] The non-crosslinked polyglycerin-modified silicone of component (d) may be chemically structured such that the silicone main chain is block-modified or graft-modified using polyglycerin. The silicone main chain may have a branched chain such as a silicone chain. Specific examples include polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone (INCI), lauryl polyglyceryl-3 polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone (INCI), and isostearyl polyglyceryl-3 dimethicone (INCI). Commercially available examples include KF-6104, KF-6106, KF-6105, KF-6180, and KF-6115 manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.

[0028] Examples of the crosslinked polyglycerin-modified silicone of component (d) include (dimethicone / polyglycerin-3) crosspolymer (INCI), (lauryl dimethicone / polyglycerin-3) crosspolymer (INCI), (polyglycerin-3 / lauryl polydimethylsiloxyethyl dimethicone) crosspolymer (INCI), etc. Examples of commercially available crosslinked silicone surfactants that swell when exposed to a liquid oil include KSG-710, KSG-790, KSG-810, KSG-820, KSG-830, KSG-840, KSG-820Z, KSG-850Z, etc., manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.

[0029] The blending amount of component (d) in the dispersion is 0 to 2% by mass, preferably 0 to 1% by mass. Component (d) may not be contained. The ratio of the content of component (d) to the content of component (c), expressed as (d) / (c), is 0.1 or less, preferably 0.10 or less, and more preferably 0.08 or less. In particular, from the viewpoint of dispersibility, it is preferably 0.05 or less, and even more preferably 0. If this ratio exceeds 0.1, component (d) interacts with component (c), inhibiting the orientation of component (c) into powder, thereby reducing water dispersibility. Furthermore, the viscosity of the dispersion may increase, potentially affecting stability.

[0030] The total content of components (a), (b), (c), and (d) in the dispersion of the present invention is preferably 80 to 100% by mass, more preferably 90 to 100% by mass, and even more preferably 99 to 100% by mass. By making the total content of components (a), (b), (c), and (d) 80% by mass or more, a dispersion with good stability and usability can be produced, while if the total content is less than 80% by mass, there is a risk of concerns about the stability of the dispersion due to the influence of components other than components (a), (b), (c), and (d).

[0031] The dispersion of the present invention may contain water. When water is contained, the amount of water contained in the dispersion is preferably 0 to 20% by mass, and more preferably no water is contained.

[0032] An antifoaming agent may be added to the dispersion for the purpose of improving handling during preparation, filling, etc. Examples of antifoaming agents include salts such as simethicone (INCI), dimethicone (INCI), sodium chloride (labeled name (INCI: Sodium Chloride)), polyether-modified silicone, etc. Furthermore, oil-based agents such as dimethicone may be used as a pre-emulsified emulsion type, and compound-based agents such as simethicone may be used as a self-emulsifying type pre-mixed with a silicone surfactant, etc. Among these, simethicone and sodium chloride are particularly preferred in terms of foam-breaking and foam-suppressing properties, and simethicone is most preferred in terms of affinity with cosmetic ingredients. The amount of antifoaming agent to be added is preferably 0.0001 to 1% by mass of the total dispersion, more preferably 0.0025 to 0.6% by mass, and even more preferably 0.005 to 0.01% by mass.

[0033] [Dispersion] The dispersion of the present invention can be easily blended into an aqueous medium, and although temporary sedimentation is observed in the dispersibility test in the Examples described below, it has the effect of being uniformly dispersed upon continued stirring.

[0034] [Form of Dispersion] The dispersion of the present invention is preferably in a paste or liquid form. In the case of a paste, the hardness is preferably 1 to 180, more preferably 1 to 100, and even more preferably 1 to 50. In the case of a liquid, the hardness is preferably 10 to 30,000 mPa·s, more preferably 10 to 10,000 mPa·s, and even more preferably 10 to 5,000 mPa·s. If the hardness is higher than 180, handling becomes difficult, and if the viscosity is less than 10 mPa·s, the powder tends to settle, raising concerns about the stability of the dispersion. The hardness is a value measured using a rheometer, for example, a Rheometer RT-2002D·D (manufactured by Rheotec Corporation, measurement probe: 3 mmφ, penetration depth: 10 mm, sample stage rising speed: 5 cm / min, temperature: 25°C, range: 200). The viscosity was measured at 25°C using a Brookfield viscometer (TVB-10 model, manufactured by Toki Sangyo Co., Ltd.) according to the method described in JIS K 7117-1:1999.

[0035] The dispersion of the present invention is preferably water-dispersible. In the present invention, "water-dispersible" means that when 0.5 g of the dispersion is placed in a beaker containing 50 mL of water and stirred for less than 2 minutes, no sedimentation occurs and the dispersion is uniformly dispersed. The time for uniform dispersion is preferably less than 1 minute, more preferably less than 30 seconds.

[0036] [Method for producing dispersion] When preparing the dispersion of the present invention, the method and apparatus therefor are not particularly limited, and can be carried out by a known method. For example, any stirrer, grinder, mixer, medium stirrer, planetary mixer, ribbon blender, disperser, homomixer, jet mill, roll mill, bead mill, high-pressure disperser, etc. can be used. In particular, from the viewpoint of mixing efficiency, it is preferable to use a roll mill for dispersion.

[0037] [Cosmetics] The dispersion of the present invention can be used for various purposes, but is particularly applicable as a raw material for all cosmetics that are applied externally to the skin or hair.

[0038] When the dispersion of the present invention is blended in a cosmetic, the amount is preferably 0.5 to 60% by mass, more preferably 1.0 to 50% by mass, and even more preferably 5.0 to 40% by mass, based on the total mass of the cosmetic. If the amount is less than 0.5% by mass, a sufficient makeup effect cannot be expected, and if the amount is 60% by mass or more, there is a concern that the feel during use may be poor.

[0039] Cosmetics containing the dispersion of the present invention may be in any form, for example, a water-in-oil emulsion cosmetic, an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic, an aqueous cosmetic, or a multiple emulsion such as a W / O / W type or an O / W / O type. In particular, when used as a dispersion of an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic, it is easy to apply, and a stable cosmetic having excellent stability, water resistance, and usability can be obtained.

[0040] The cosmetic of the present invention can be in a variety of forms, including liquid, emulsion, cream, solid, paste, gel, powder, pressed, multilayered, mousse, spray, stick, and pencil form. Multilayered cosmetic preparations are those that separate into two or more layers upon standing. They are filled into a container containing a stainless steel ball or the like and are used after shaking. Because the dispersion of the present invention has good dispersibility, it is easy to redisperse even in this formulation. These are called shaking types, and because they are easily stabilized, they provide a cosmetic preparation with an excellent feel in use, but require the effort of shaking. Because the cosmetic of the present invention is preferred for its stability, it can be used without separating into multiple layers. Sprayed cosmetic preparations are sprayed into dispenser containers, aerosol containers, etc., and used by spraying from a nozzle. The cosmetic filled into the dispenser container is sprayed in a mist from the dispenser nozzle. The aerosol container is filled with the cosmetic and a propellant. The propellant is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include various liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), dimethyl ether, nitrogen gas, carbon dioxide gas, etc. These may be used alone or in appropriate combinations of two or more. The dispersion of the present invention has high dispersibility and can therefore be used in such formulations.

[0041] The dispersion of the present invention can be applied to various cosmetics, but is particularly preferred in cosmetics applied to the skin, such as skin care cosmetics, makeup cosmetics, antiperspirant cosmetics, and UV protection cosmetics, and cosmetics applied to the hair, such as hair cosmetics. Examples of skin care cosmetics include lotions, emulsions, creams, cleansers, packs, oil liquids, massage products, beauty serums, beauty oils, detergents, deodorants, hand creams, lip balms, and wrinkle concealers. Examples of makeup cosmetics include makeup bases, concealers, face powders, powder foundations, eye color, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, eyebrow pencils, and lipsticks. Examples of antiperspirant cosmetics include roll-on, cream, solution, and stick-type antiperspirant cosmetics. Examples of UV protection cosmetics include sunscreen oils, sunscreen emulsions, and sunscreen creams. Examples of hair cosmetics include shampoos, rinses, treatments, and setting agents. Of these, makeup cosmetics are particularly preferred.

[0042] The cosmetic of the present invention may contain various components commonly used in cosmetics to the extent that the effects of the present invention are not impaired. For example, it may contain (1) an oil, (2) an aqueous component other than component (b), (3) a surfactant other than components (c) and (d), (4) a powder other than component (a), (5) a composition consisting of a crosslinked organopolysiloxane and an oil that is liquid at room temperature, (6) a film-forming agent, and (7) other additives. These may be used alone or in appropriate combinations of two or more. The components exemplified in the dispersion above may also be included. The components contained in the dispersion above may also be blended. However, blending components (a) to (c) of the present invention into a cosmetic without blending the dispersion of the present invention will not achieve the significant effects intended by the present invention.

Among these, the use of acrylic polymers makes it possible to stabilize oil-in-water cosmetics relatively easily.

[0054] (3) Surfactants Other Than Components (c) and (d) Surfactants include nonionic, anionic, cationic, and amphoteric surfactants, but are not particularly limited thereto. Any surfactant other than the above components (c) and (d) that is commonly used in cosmetics can be used. Among these surfactants, one or more selected from non-crosslinked silicone surfactants or crosslinked silicone surfactants are preferred because they can produce stable cosmetics. In either case, the amount of surfactant blended is preferably 0.1 to 20% by mass of the total cosmetic. A content of 0.1% or more ensures sufficient dispersion and emulsification functions, while a content of 20% by mass or less is preferred because it prevents the cosmetic from feeling sticky after use. The HLB of the surfactant is not limited, but is preferably 2 to 14.5 in order to maintain the water resistance of the cosmetic.

[0055] The non-crosslinked silicone surfactant is one in which some of the methyl groups in a linear or branched silicone main chain have been substituted with a hydrophilic group such as polyethylene glycol, and specifically, linear or branched polyoxyethylene-modified organopolysiloxanes, linear or branched polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-modified organopolysiloxanes, linear or branched polyoxyethylene-alkyl-co-modified organopolysiloxanes, linear or branched polyoxyethylene-polyoxypropylene-alkyl-co-modified organopolysiloxanes, and linear or branched pyrrolidone-modified organopolysiloxanes are preferred. [0058] Furthermore, when a crosslinked silicone surfactant is used, in a composition comprising the crosslinked silicone surfactant and an oil that is liquid at room temperature, the crosslinked silicone surfactant preferably swells with the liquid oil by absorbing more than its own weight of the liquid oil. The liquid oil can be a liquid silicone oil, hydrocarbon oil, ester oil, natural animal or vegetable oil, semi-synthetic oil, or fluorine-based oil, as contained in the optional component (1) oil, and examples thereof include cyclopentasiloxane (INCI), dimethicone (INCI), caprylyl methicone (INCI), mineral oil (INCI), isododecane (INCI), isohexadecane (INCI), triethylhexanoin (INCI), isotridecyl isononanoate (labeled name (INCI: Isotridecyl Isononanoate)), squalane (INCI), etc. Examples of commercially available cross-linked silicone surfactants that swell when exposed to a liquid oil include KSG-210, KSG-240, KSG-270, KSG-310, KSG-320, KSG-330, KSG-340, KSG-320Z, and KSG-350Z manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.

[0059] (4) Powders other than component (a) Examples of powders other than component (a) include fine particle metal oxide powders, extender pigments, pearl pigments, metal powders, organic powders, inorganic-organic composite powders, etc. Specific examples are as follows.

[0060] Fine particle inorganic powder The fine particle inorganic powder may be any powder used as an ultraviolet scattering agent having an ultraviolet shielding effect that can be incorporated into ordinary cosmetics, and may be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these, metal oxides selected from one or more of titanium oxide, zinc oxide, and cerium oxide are preferred. The metal oxide may be a composite powder of two or more of titanium oxide, zinc oxide, and cerium oxide, or may be a composite powder with other powders.

[0061] The number-average primary particle diameter of the inorganic fine particle powder, as determined by image analysis of a transmission electron microscope photograph, is 10 to 200 nm, preferably 150 nm or less. If the particle diameter is greater than 200 nm, the UV protection function is reduced and white residue is left behind. If the particle diameter is less than 10 nm, the product may feel too dry and have a poor feel when used. The average primary particle diameter of the inorganic fine particle powder can be measured using a transmission electron microscope photograph. If the powder is not spherical, the average primary particle diameter is taken as the average value of the long and short axes of the particles. Examples of the shape of the inorganic fine particle powder include spindle-shaped, needle-shaped, straw-like, rectangular, approximately spherical, and rod-shaped.

[0062] The fine inorganic powder may be surface-treated with silica, hydrous silica, alumina, aluminum hydroxide, or the like before hydrophobization treatment in order to reduce cohesion or suppress the activity of the powder. When blended into a cosmetic, if there is a concern that swelling of a water-soluble polymer used in combination with the fine inorganic powder may be inhibited or that water resistance may be reduced, a composite powder that has not been surface-treated with alumina or aluminum hydroxide is preferred. If there is a concern that water resistance may be reduced, a composite powder that has not been surface-treated with silica or hydrous silica is preferred.

[0063] The hydrophobic treatment agent for the fine inorganic powder is not particularly limited as long as it is a known treatment agent commonly used in cosmetics. Examples include silanes or silylating agents such as caprylylsilane (AES-3083, manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), silicone oils such as dimethyl silicone (KF-96AK series, manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), methyl hydrogen polysiloxanes (KF-99P, KF-9901, etc., manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), and branched silicone treatment agents (KF-9908, KF-9909, etc., manufactured by Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd.), waxes, paraffins, organic fluorine compounds such as perfluoroalkyl phosphates, surfactants, amino acids such as N-acyl glutamic acid, and metal soaps such as aluminum stearate and magnesium myristate. In particular, components containing one or more selected from stearic acid, isostearic acid, and triethoxycaprylylsilane provide good treatment and are preferred in terms of dispersibility. The hydrophobic treatment method is not particularly limited, and any known method can be used, such as a wet treatment method, a dry treatment method, or a gas phase method.
