Abstract
The present utility model relates to the field of crop production particularly to a process for producing strawberry planting materials through meristem culture comprising the steps of: gathering and trimming of strawberry runner tips; soaking in water with detergent soap and washing them; sterilizing for thirty minutes and washing three times with sterilized distilled water; cutting the base of the runner tips; removing of the outer leaves; isolating the meristem; inoculating the meristem in the modified Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium; maintaining the cultured meristem under laboratory conditions; subdividing adventitious buds induced from the meristem; transferring of subdivided adventitious buds into multiplication medium every three to four weeks; maintaining the cultures under laboratory conditions; transferring of plantlets to elongation and rooting media; transferring of rooted strawberry plantlets into the greenhouse; acclimatizing rooted strawberry plantlets for one month; and producing strawberry planting materials.
