Window clamp (1) for forming a ventilation gap in a double-leaf window, which has a first window sash and a second window sash which can be locked by actuating a window handle, wherein the window clamp is formed by an open ring (2, 2') which, in a ventilation position of the first and second window sashes - in which, in a manner known per se, only the second window sash is locked and the first window sash is brought with its outer surface in contact with the window handle of the second sash - can be releasably brought into engagement with the first sash by temporary elastic deformation, in a manner that partially encompasses the window handle of the second window sash and the window frame of the first window sash in the area of ​​the window handle, so that the first window frame is held in its position in contact with the window handle.
