Description
5 Configuration applied to a pellet burner with improvements in regulation, protection, and feeding system. Field of invention
[001] This utility model belongs to the technical field of thermal equipment powered by solid biomass, more specifically pellet burners used in boilers, industrial furnaces, ovens or automated heating systems. It can be applied in both industrial and residential environments, and also in projects that seek sustainable and efficient solutions for heat generation from compacted vegetable waste. Fundamentals of the invention
[002] The state of the art already includes several models of pellet burners with a metal structure integrated into a storage silo and a helical auger feeding system. For example, US patent US6223737B1, by Carrol E. Buckner, filed on September 27, 1999, presents a burner with an upper silo and auger feeding, a basic configuration widely used.
[003] International publication WO2008068587A2, by inventors Luigi Borelli, Mario Panizzon and Renzo Volpaton, filed on November 21, 2007, describes a combined gas combustion system, also using a silo and screw feed. Similarly, U.S. patent US10711995B2, owned by Original Pellet Grill Company LLC and invented by Joe Traeger, with priority on May 2, 2014, combines pellet feeding with gas combustion, using the same principles of top silo and screw feed.
[004] Despite the widespread use of these solutions, technical problems persist such as: premature wear of the auger due to material pressure in the silo; crumbling of the pellet during internal transport; the need to physically move the equipment to close off flame access; lack of adjustments Petition 870260028048, dated 03 / 25 / 2026, page 6 / 13 / 5 adaptive structural systems for the installation environment; and transmission systems with high maintenance.
[005] The utility model solves these technical problems by introducing the following improvements: a. Support structure with adjustable height, allowing vertical adaptation to the installation point; b. Movable flame arrestor, which allows sealing of the access point without the need to move the burner; c. Protective plate for the auger inside the silo, which prevents direct vertical load on the propeller; d. Acrylic level indicator in the silo for visual verification of the pellet load; e. Geared motor coupled directly to the auger shaft, eliminating the need for chain or gearbox transmission; f. Auger with two different screw pitches, preventing excessive compaction and pellet crumbling; and, g. Feed pipe with two different diameters, promoting greater flow and efficiency in material transport.
[006] These improvements provide greater operational efficiency, less mechanical wear, reduced maintenance, as well as greater safety and flexibility of use. The optimized construction also favors lower manufacturing and assembly costs, while maintaining compatibility with existing structures on the market. Brief description of the drawings

[0015] Figure 9 shows the front view, highlighting the height adjustment system of the support structure. Description of the invention
[0016] The configuration consists of a metal pellet burner, integrated into a vertical storage silo, a horizontal feed pipe and a feed system driven by a geared motor. The silo is mounted on a base with a height-adjustable support structure, allowing adaptation to different installation contexts.
[0017] Inside the silo there is a horizontal metal plate, positioned to protect the feeding auger from the direct weight of the discharged pellets, preventing overload and premature wear of the helical system.
[0018] The silo also incorporates an acrylic level indicator, positioned on its front wall, which allows for quick and visual verification of the amount of material stored, contributing to the control and management of feeding. Petition 870260028048, dated 03 / 25 / 2026, page 8 / 13 / 5
[0019] The feed screw is formed by a single shaft divided into two sections with different pitches: the section inside the burner body has a short-pitch thread, and the section inserted in the feed tube has a longer-pitch thread, a configuration that prevents compaction and crumbling of the pellet during transport.
[0020] The feed tube is constructed with two distinct gauges, being narrower at the inlet, next to the burner, and wider at the outlet, promoting better flow and control of the pellet flow to the combustion zone.
[0021] The assembly is driven by a geared motor directly coupled to the screw shaft, eliminating the use of chains, gears or gearboxes. This solution reduces mechanical complexity and maintenance points, as well as decreasing energy losses in the drive.
[0022] At the front end of the equipment, there is a movable flame arrestor, which can be operated independently, allowing the passage of flames to be sealed without the need to physically move the burner from its installation point.
[0023] All elements of the assembly are designed to allow easy access for maintenance, inspection and replacement of parts, promoting mechanical efficiency, thermal safety and ease of operation. Examples of embodiments of the invention
[0024] A preferred embodiment of the utility model comprises a metal burner with a 530-liter silo, equipped with a 9.5 cm wide and 70 cm long acrylic level indicator, a structure with height adjustment up to 60 cm, and a screw with a 25 mm diameter shaft, with an internal pitch of 40 mm and a pitch in the feed tube of 60 mm. The feed tube varies from SCH.40 0 2.1 / 2” at the inlet to 0 3” X4.76 mm at the outlet. The geared motor is a worm gear. Petition 870260028048, dated 03 / 25 / 2026, p. 9 / 13 / 5 WCG01 63 1 1:100 NAH 71 0.75 hp 04 60Hz operates with 220 / 380-440 voltage with 6 terminals, torque of 168.21Nm, directly coupled to the shaft.
[0025] Comparative tests performed with conventional equipment demonstrated that the proposed configuration reduced the pellet crumbling rate during internal transport by 45% and increased the average durability of the auger by 60%, with a significant reduction in failures related to overload in the feeding system.
