Description
1 / 4 Locking positioner for preload adjustment in seeding rows.
[01] The present utility model describes a locking positioner for adjusting seed line preload. More specifically, it comprises a stop fixed to the lock of the seed line preload adjustment mechanism that moves between two possible positions: one in which it releases the lock to arm the preload adjustment mechanism and another in which it forces the lock to disengage from the gear teeth. This allows the pressure on the seed lines to be adjusted with only one hand, without risk of crushing.
[02] In mechanized or row sowing, machinery is used to sow, enabling precise and covered distribution of the seeds. This machinery has sowing lines equipped with breaking mechanisms that disturb the soil to open the furrow where the seed will be deposited.
[03] To apply pressure and determine cutting power, seeding lines have mechanisms with hydraulic or pneumatic cylinders or springs, which are more commonly used due to their ease of maintenance and adjustment.
[04] In spring-loaded seeding lines, adjustments to decrease or increase preload are made by means of pivots and ratchets, or by changing the spring point with a displacement system on one of the pantographic bars. For this operation, one of the operator's hands activates the mechanism and, simultaneously, the other hand disengages a lock. However, the more pressure is applied to the line, the riskier it becomes to remove the load, requiring more Petition 870250068800, dated 05 / 08 / 2025, page 8 / 18 2 / 4 force is required to perform the exercise with only one arm, and extra care must be taken to avoid crushing the fingers.
[05] Thus, in order to increase safety when it is necessary to reduce the preload of the seed line spring, the present utility model is the object of an external positioner that includes a spring and a rotating stop that assumes two positions, changing the adjustment of the seed line spring clockwise or counterclockwise, as needed to increase the load or decrease the preload of the line.
[06] In order to better describe the technical and constructive characteristics of the locking positioner for adjusting seed line preload, the following figures are presented:
[07] Figure 1A shows the side view of the line with the locking positioner in the engaged position.
[08] Figure 1B shows the side view of the line with the locking positioner in the disengaged position.
[09] Figure 2A shows a cutaway view of the line with the locking positioner in the engaged position.
[010] Figure 2B shows an enlarged view of the lock positioner in the engaged position.
[011] Figure 3A shows a cross-sectional view of the line with the positioner in the disengaged position.
[012] Figure 3B shows an enlarged view of the lock positioner in the disengaged position.
[013] Figure 4A shows a cross-sectional view of the line with the positioner in the rest position as a function of the lock disengagement.
[014] Figure 4B shows an enlarged view of the positioner in the rest position as a function of the disengagement of the latch. Petition 870250068800, dated 05 / 08 / 2025, page 9 / 18 3 / 4
[015] The locking positioner for adjusting the preload of the seeding line, object of the present utility model, comprises a stop (10) fixed to the lock (140) of the seeding line preload adjustment mechanism (200), which moves between two possible positions: one in which it releases the lock (140) to arm the preload adjustment mechanism and another in which it forces the lock (140) to disengage from the teeth of the gear (130). This allows the pressure on the seeding lines (200) to be adjusted with only one hand, without risk of crushing.
[016] The preload adjustment mechanism, described in document BR102024020779, from the same holder, comprises a horizontal compression spring (100) fixed in supports (110 and 111) arranged on the arm (210) of the seeding line (200), having in the front support (111) a pair of racks (120) where gears (130) move, defining the pressure exerted on a horizontal spring (100) which, in turn, imposes pressure on the furrow openers. The gears (130) are externally coupled by a hexagonal shaft (131) where torque is applied to effect the adjustment.
[017] A locking element (140) fixed by a pin exerts a pendulum motion, so as to engage with the teeth of the gears (130), adjusting the tension of said horizontal spring (100) to regulate the depth of penetration into the soil of the furrow openers (210).
[018] Each tooth of the gear (130) sets a pre-set of the spring (100). Thus, the lock (140) moves away with each turn of the gear (130) and engages again.
[019] A stop (10) is fixed to the latch (140) by means of a pin (P), providing a point of articulation. The stop (10) has Petition 870250068800, dated 05 / 08 / 2025, page 10 / 18 4 / 4 opposite ends with extensions (11a) and (11b), being tensioned by a spring (20) fixed to the latch (140) and the stop (10).
[020] The stop (10) moves in two possible positions. A first position (Figures 2A and 2B) releases the latch (140) to arm the preload adjustment mechanism. In this condition, the spring (20) forces the stop (10) clockwise and presses the latch (140) against the teeth of the gear (130) of the adjustment mechanism where one end (141) with the same indentation profile as the gear (130) engages.
[021] In a second position, represented in figures 3A and 3B, the stop (20) is folded in the opposite direction to the first position, and occurs when it is desirable to reduce the preload of the horizontal spring (100). In this situation, the stop (10) is pulled counterclockwise, with the spring (20) forcing the end (141) of the lock (140) to disengage from the teeth of the gear (130). In this way, the pressure adjustment operation on the seeding lines (200) can be performed with one hand and without the risk of crushing.
[022] When there is a small torque to increase the preload force of the horizontal spring (100), the force on the latch (140) will be reduced, and the spring (20) pulls the latch (140) out of the engagement, as shown in figures 4A and 4B. Petition 870250068800, dated 05 / 08 / 2025, page 11 / 18
