Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a composition and a display device using the same, and in particular to a photosensitive resin composition and a display device using the same. Background Art
[0002] Display devices have been widely used in daily life, including various portable or non-portable electronic products, workplace equipment, smart home appliances, transportation, or public use, etc., to provide relevant information and / or interactive modes to enhance the convenience and fun of users in life and work. Photoresist plays an important role in display devices, for example, it can form a light-transmitting layer or a light-shielding and reflecting layer of the display device.
[0003] Taking a color liquid crystal display device as an example, a color filter is used in the color liquid crystal display device to present a color display screen. The color filter includes a photoresist layer of different colors, and a typical color filter includes four colors of photoresist, such as red, green, blue, and black. The optical properties of the color filter have a key influence on the optical display effect of the color liquid crystal display device.
[0004] Although the current photoresist compositions are generally suitable in terms of the formation methods, they do not fully meet all requirements, and various attempts and adjustments are still being made to the photoresist compositions in color filters. For example, the existing photoresist liquid still has problems such as particle sedimentation or suspension and poor dispersion stability, which affects the dispersion uniformity of the photoresist composition, resulting in unstable optical properties of the photoresist composition after the process (such as coating and lithography process) in the display device, thereby affecting the optical display effect of the display device. [0010] In addition to the common non-transparent liquid crystal displays (generally using non-transparent photoresists, commonly black photoresists, to form a matrix array for shielding), the application of transparent liquid crystal displays (the photoresists used are mainly transparent light transmittance) has become increasingly popular in recent years. However, the current transparent liquid crystal displays need to have good display effects and high transmittance (high transparency), and also need photoresists with high shielding and high light reflection effects, which is also one of the goals that the industry pays attention to and strives for. Furthermore, in addition to the common liquid crystal displays, the mainstream of display technology development in recent years, such as organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays, has also become increasingly popular. Other new types of display technologies, such as highly luminous and long-life micro-light-emitting diodes (Mini LED) and sub-millimeter light-emitting diodes Micro LED, which have great market prospects, have also attracted much attention. With the development of new types of display technology, the demand for new types of photoresists has also increased, and the requirements for color presentation and performance other than color performance (for example, high shielding and high light reflection) have become more diverse.
[0011] In order to meet the above needs, the embodiments of the present disclosure propose a photosensitive resin composition, and a display device using the photosensitive resin composition. In some embodiments, the photosensitive resin composition is applied above the substrate of the display device, and an optical lithography process is performed, and it is cured to form at least one light-transmitting layer or a light-shielding and reflecting layer. The photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment contains a rheology modifier, so that the composition has a shear viscosity-reducing property, and the components of the composition can effectively maintain uniform dispersion after a sufficiently long standing time, and are not prone to precipitation. Therefore, it will not affect or even improve the optical properties of the photosensitive resin composition after coating and lithography on the substrate. The property of the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment that the viscosity is reduced (shear viscosity reduction) during the flow process is more conducive to uniformly coating the composition on the substrate.
[0012] The following are various embodiments for detailed description. The embodiments are only used as examples and do not limit the scope of protection of the present disclosure. The present disclosure can still be implemented by using other features, components, methods and parameters. The embodiments are only used to illustrate the technical features of the present disclosure and are not used to limit the scope of the patent application of the present disclosure. Those with ordinary knowledge in the technical field will be able to make equal modifications and changes based on the description of the following specification without departing from the spirit of the present disclosure.
[0013] Some embodiments of the present disclosure are related to a photosensitive resin composition, which may include a colorant (A), an alkali-soluble resin (B), a polymerizable unsaturated compound (C), a photoinitiator (D), a rheology modifier (R), and an organic solvent (E), wherein the rheology modifier (R) includes one or more oil polyols, one or more fatty acid amide polymers, or a combination thereof, and when the total weight of the solid content of the components excluding the organic solvent (E) is set to 100 weight %, the rheology modifier (R) accounts for about 0.6 weight % to about 6.0 weight % of the total weight of the solid content. In some embodiments, the colorant (A) may account for about 55.0 weight % to about 65.0 weight %, for example, 60.0 weight % to 65.0 weight % of the total weight of the solid content. In some embodiments, the alkali-soluble resin (B) may account for about 4.0 wt% to about 6.5 wt% of the total weight of the solid content; the polymerizable unsaturated compound (C) may account for about 16.0 wt% to about 26.0 wt% of the total weight of the solid content; and the photoinitiator (D) may account for about 1.0 wt% to about 5.0 wt% of the total weight of the solid content. In some embodiments, the addition of the rheology modifier (R) allows all components of the photosensitive resin composition to be well dispersed, especially the pigment particles contained in the colorant (A) can be uniformly dispersed in the photosensitive resin composition, effectively preventing the pigment particles from settling in the static photosensitive resin composition.
[0014] Furthermore, according to some embodiments of the present disclosure, adding a rheology modifier to the photosensitive resin composition can transform the fluid properties of the photosensitive resin composition into shear-thinning properties. That is, the fluid of the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment behaves as a non-Newtonian fluid, which can stabilize the dispersion of the pigment particles in the photosensitive resin composition.
[0015] Figure 1 Schematic diagram of viscosity change of shear viscosity reduction characteristics of Newtonian fluid and non-Newtonian fluid. Curve L1 represents a Newtonian fluid, whose viscosity is not changed by changes in external shear rate. Curve L2 represents the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment, which is a non-Newtonian fluid, that is, it is in a high viscosity fluid state in a non-flowing state (such as a static composition), but in a flowing state (such as flowing in a pipeline and the process of coating the composition), the viscosity will be reduced by an increase in the external shear rate. In one embodiment, the photosensitive resin composition has a first viscosity in a static state and a second viscosity in a flowing state, wherein the second viscosity is less than the first viscosity.
[0016] Furthermore, some embodiments of the present disclosure are related to a display device, including at least one photoresist layer, which can be used as a light-transmitting layer or a light-shielding and reflecting layer in the display device. Wherein, this light-transmitting layer or this light-shielding and reflecting layer is formed by applying the photosensitive resin composition of some of the above embodiments to the top of a substrate and performing an optical lithography process. The method of applying the photosensitive resin composition is, for example (but not limited to) using a scraper coater, a slit coater, a spin coater, an inkjet machine, or a device using any two of the above mechanisms to coat it on the top of the substrate. Since the pigment particles in the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment can effectively maintain uniform dispersion after a sufficiently long standing time, it is not easy to produce precipitation and affect the optical properties of the photosensitive resin composition after coating on the substrate and the lithography process. Furthermore, the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment has the characteristic of reducing viscosity during the flow process, which can achieve the viscosity required for the coating process, and is easier to be evenly coated on the substrate. According to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the above advantages can further improve the optical properties of the light-transmitting layer or the light-shielding and reflecting layer formed in the display device.
[0017] In some embodiments, the colorant (A) included in the photosensitive resin composition includes pigment particles, and at least one of a pigment dispersant and a pigment dispersion resin. For example, a white colorant (A) is used, which includes a white pigment (e.g., various white pigment inorganic pigments) and a pigment dispersant or a pigment dispersion resin to form a white pigment particle dispersion composition. Of course, the present disclosure is not limited to the use of white colorants, and colorants of other colors can also be used as colorants in the embodiments.
[0018] Specific examples of white inorganic pigments commonly used in the relevant field include CI Pigment White 4, 5, 6, 6:1, 7, 18, 18:1, 19, 20, 22, 25, 26, 27, 28, 32, etc. These white pigments can be used alone or in combination of two or more. In one example, in terms of reflection efficiency and whiteness, CI Pigment White 6 or CI Pigment White 22 can be used (but not limited to).
[0019] Taking CI Pigment White 6 as an example, titanium dioxide (TiO2), a metal oxide particle contained in CI Pigment White 6, is inexpensive and has excellent reflectivity due to its high refractive index. Furthermore, titanium dioxide (TiO2) has a rutile structure and has excellent whiteness. Therefore, titanium dioxide is often preferably used as an effective white colorant.
[0020] Furthermore, as needed, TiO2 can be subjected to the following treatments, including: surface treatment using pigment derivatives that introduce acidic or basic groups, grafting treatment of the pigment surface using polymers, atomization treatment using sulfuric acid atomization, washing treatment using organic solvents or water to remove impurities, or removal of ionic impurities using ion exchange methods, etc.
[0021] In some embodiments, titanium dioxide (TiO2) is selected as the white pigment and is surface treated with at least one selected from SiO2, Al2O3 and ZrO2. Alternatively, the titanium dioxide (TiO2) is surface treated with SiO2, Al2O3 and ZrO2 in sequence. If various surface treatments of SiO2, Al2O3 and ZrO2 are applied to titanium dioxide (TiO2), the reliability of these white pigment particles will be further increased, such as improving heat resistance and chemical resistance.
[0022] In addition, in some embodiments, the titanium dioxide (TiO2) that has undergone the above-mentioned surface treatment can be subjected to additional treatment by using a surface treatment of an organic material to reduce the energy required to disperse the titanium dioxide (TiO2) and prevent the titanium dioxide (TiO2) from being compressed and concentrated. The organic material may include, for example, trimethylolpropane (TMP), pentaerythritol, etc. Such a surface treatment can reduce the photocatalytic activity of titanium dioxide (TiO2) and improve the characteristics of reflective brightness. The above-mentioned surface treatment can be a treatment by encapsulation. Although many surface treatments and modifications can be performed on the surface of titanium dioxide to help it to be stably dispersed, the density of the titanium dioxide particles themselves is still very high and still cannot effectively overcome the precipitation caused by gravity. However, through the composition proposed in the embodiment of the present disclosure, the addition of a rheology modifier can further enhance the performance of the modified titanium dioxide particles, so that it can achieve a better anti-precipitation effect.
[0023] Specific examples of titanium dioxide (TiO2) may include R-101, R-102, R-103, R-104, R-105, R-350, R-706, R-794, R-796, TS-6200, R-900, R-902, R-902+, R-931, R-960, etc., which can be purchased from Dupont, R-FC5, TR81, TR88, etc., which can be purchased from Huntman, and CR-57, etc., which can be purchased from ISK.
[0024] The weight percentage of the colorant of the embodiment in the solid of the photosensitive resin composition can be appropriately adjusted according to the actual application. For example, the colorant (A) containing white pigment particles can generally be used as a reflective layer and a light shielding layer of a display device. In some other embodiments, a small amount of a colorant (A) containing white pigment particles may also be included in the solid of the photosensitive resin composition to allow light to pass through effectively. When used as a light shielding and reflective layer of a display device, the weight percentage of the colorant (A) containing white pigment particles in the solid of the photosensitive resin composition is higher to produce sufficient shielding. According to some embodiments, based on the total weight of the solid of the photosensitive resin composition, the colorant (A) accounts for 55.0% to 65.0% by weight of the total weight of the solid content, for example, 60.0% to 65.0% by weight.
[0025] In some embodiments, the alkali-soluble resin (B) contained in the photosensitive resin composition is an acrylate copolymer soluble in an alkaline solvent. [0056] In some embodiments, the rheology modifier (R) comprises one or more oil polyols, one or more fatty acid amide polymers, combinations thereof, or other synthetic polymers that are fully or partially soluble in organic solvents.
[0057] In some embodiments, the oil polyol has a structure shown in formula (I),
[0058]
[0059] R1, R2, and R3 are independently long carbon chains with 14 to 20 carbon atoms, and have OH functional groups between some of the CC groups.
[0060] In some embodiments, in the structure shown in formula (I), the CC portion of the long carbon chain of R1, R2, and R3 has 1 to 3 structures shown in formula (II) or formula (III):
[0061]

[0064]
[0065] In some embodiments, the oil polyol comprises a sunflower oil-based polyol having a structure as shown in formula (V):
[0066]
[0067] In some embodiments, the fatty acid amide polymer comprises, for example, a polymer having a structure as shown in formula (VI):
[0068]
[0069] Wherein, R is an unsaturated fatty acid containing 18 carbon atoms, and R is bonded to each other by any unsaturated double bond to form an unsaturated fatty acid doublet;
[0070] X is a group that replaces the terminal end of the polyamide long chain, which can be –N(CH3)2, –N(CH2CH3)2, or –OH;
[0071] A is an amide bond; R' is a link of two or more carbon atoms.
[0072] The rheology modifier (R) in the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment can transform the fluid properties of the composition into shear-thinning properties, that is, the viscosity of the composition in a flowing state is less than the viscosity in a static state. Furthermore, the addition of the rheology modifier (R) of the embodiment can make the components of the composition evenly dispersed, especially effectively prevent the pigment particles from settling in the static photosensitive resin composition. The content of the rheology modifier (R) may be appropriately adjusted according to the actual application. According to some embodiments, based on the total weight of the solids of the photosensitive resin composition, the rheology modifier (R) accounts for about 0.6 weight % to about 6.0 weight % of the total weight of the solids.
[0073] According to some embodiments of the present disclosure, the organic solvent (E) contained in the photosensitive resin composition is not particularly limited, and various organic solvents commonly used in the relevant field can be used.
[0074] In some embodiments, the organic solvent (E) comprises, for example, ethylene glycol monoalkyl ethers, such as ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene glycol monopropyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, etc.; diethylene glycol dialkyl ethers, such as diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol diethyl ether, diethylene glycol dipropyl ether, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, etc.; ethylene glycol alkyl ether acetates, such as methyl cellosolve acetate, ethyl cellosolve acetate, etc.; alkylene glycol alkyl ether acetates, such as propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, propylene glycol monobutyl ether, etc. Monoethyl ether acetate, propylene glycol monopropyl ether acetate, methoxybutyl acetate, methoxypentyl acetate, etc.; aromatic hydrocarbons, such as benzene, toluene, xylene or mesitylene, etc.; ketones, such as methyl ethyl ketone, acetone, methyl amyl ketone, methyl isobutyl ketone, cyclohexanone, etc.; alcohols, such as ethanol, propanol, butanol, hexanol, cyclohexanol, ethylene glycol or glycerol, etc.; esters, such as ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate, methyl 3-methoxypropionate, etc.; and cyclic esters, such as γ-butyrolactone, etc.
[0075] In terms of practicality and drying ability, the solvent is preferably an organic solvent having a boiling point of 100°C to 200°C, and more preferably an alkylene glycol alkyl ether acetate, ketones or esters such as ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate or methyl 3-methoxypropionate, and more preferably propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, propylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, cyclohexanone, ethyl 3-ethoxypropionate or methyl 3-methoxypropionate, and the like.
[0076] Furthermore, in the related experiments proposed in the present disclosure, propylene glycol methyl ether acetate (PGMEA; purchased from Sun-Ren Chemical Co., Ltd.) was used as the organic solvent (E). The chemical formula is as follows.
[0077]
[0078] According to the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment, the total weight of the solid content is set to 100% by weight and does not include the organic solvent (E). The composition and content of the organic solvent (E) can be appropriately selected according to the actual application, so that when the photosensitive resin composition is coated with a coating machine, such as a knife coater, a slit coater, a spin coater, an inkjet machine, or a device using any two of the above mechanisms, the coating property can be good.
[0079] In addition, in some embodiments, the photosensitive resin composition may further include an appropriate amount of antioxidant. The antioxidant improves thermal stability by preventing oxidation of the photosensitive resin composition. The antioxidant includes: a primary antioxidant that prevents oxidation by directly participating in oxidation; a secondary antioxidant that prevents excessive consumption of the primary antioxidant; and a mixture thereof.
[0080] In some embodiments, the antioxidant includes a phenolic antioxidant, or the phenolic antioxidant can be used in combination with one or more compounds selected from phosphate antioxidants and sulfur-containing antioxidants. Among them, the phenolic antioxidant belongs to the aforementioned primary antioxidant, and the phosphate antioxidant and the sulfur-containing antioxidant belong to the aforementioned secondary antioxidant.
[0081] In addition, in some embodiments, the photosensitive resin composition may further include appropriate amounts of other additives, such as other polymer compounds, curing agents, tackifiers, UV absorbers, surfactants, adhesion promoters and / or antioxidants, etc., according to application requirements.
[0082] In order to make the above and other purposes, features, and advantages of the present disclosure more clearly understood, the preparation of the photosensitive resin compositions of several embodiments and comparative examples is specifically cited below, and the photosensitive resin compositions in these examples are subjected to several tests, analyses, and evaluations to observe the properties of the compositions.
[0083] In addition, various detection and evaluation methods for the characteristic analysis of the photosensitive resin composition in the examples and comparative examples are briefly described below, and will not be repeated in the subsequent analysis of the detection results of each example and comparative example.
[0084] 1. Shear viscosity reduction evaluation
[0085] The thixotropic index (also known as thixotropic coefficient) of the photosensitive resin composition can be measured by a viscometer (Model: Model TV-25 Viscometer), for example, by measuring the viscosity of the composition at different rotation speeds, and then quantifying and evaluating the shear viscosity reduction. In these examples, the calculation formula of the thixotropic index of the fluid is as follows:
[0086] Thixotropic index = (viscosity value at a rotation speed of 5 rpm / viscosity value at a rotation speed of 50 rpm) ... (Formula 1)
[0087] The evaluation criteria for the shear viscosity reduction characteristics of the fluid are as follows:
[0088] The case where the thixotropic index is greater than or equal to 2 is evaluated as 0, indicating better shear viscosity reduction;
[0089] The case where the thixotropic index is greater than 1 and less than 2 is evaluated as Δ, indicating slight shear viscosity reduction;
[0090] The case where the thixotropic index is 1 or less is evaluated as X, indicating that there is no shear viscosity reduction property.
[0091] 2. Evaluation of sedimentation prevention
[0092] Take 10 ml of the prepared photosensitive resin composition and add it to a round-bottom centrifuge tube with a diameter of about 17.1 mm and a length of about 120 mm. After tightening the upper cover of the round-bottom centrifuge tube, stand it upright for 168 hours (i.e., one week). It is worth noting that after the preparation of the general photosensitive resin composition, the time for temporary storage, transportation and coating process does not exceed one week, but in this experiment, the composition is left to stand for up to one week to evaluate the precipitation prevention effect of the photosensitive resin composition. Therefore, the composition evaluated by the precipitation prevention disclosed in the present invention can fully meet the commercial application conditions.
[0093] After the photosensitive resin composition was left to stand for 168 hours, 5 ml of the photosensitive resin composition in the upper layer of the round-bottom centrifuge tube (hereinafter referred to as the upper layer) was aspirated, and 5 ml of the photosensitive resin composition in the lower layer (hereinafter referred to as the lower layer) was aspirated. The upper layer and the lower layer were placed in aluminum pans and baked at 110 degrees Celsius for 3 hours. The weight difference before and after baking was measured to calculate the non-volatile matter content other than the organic solvent, which was called the solid content.
[0094] In these examples, the sedimentation prevention evaluation is obtained by calculating the sedimentation prevention ratio. The calculation formula of the sedimentation prevention ratio is as follows:
[0095] Precipitation prevention ratio = upper layer solid content / lower layer solid content x 100% (Formula 2)
[0096] The evaluation of the sedimentation prevention ratio of the fluid is as follows:
[0097] The case where the precipitation prevention ratio was greater than 90% was evaluated as O, indicating a better precipitation prevention effect;
[0098] The case where the precipitation prevention ratio is less than 90% is evaluated as X, indicating that a good precipitation prevention effect cannot be produced. This means that such a photosensitive resin composition performs similarly to a photosensitive resin composition without adding a rheology modifier.
[0099] 3. Miscibility Evaluation
[0100] First, the photosensitive resin compositions prepared in the examples and comparative examples were subjected to spin coating and yellow light treatment to form hardened films with a thickness of about 10 microns, and these hardened films were visually observed. The miscibility evaluation criteria of the photosensitive resin compositions are as follows:
[0101] If the surface of the cured film is visually smooth and flat, and no particles are visible on the film surface, it means that the additive is uniformly miscible in the photosensitive resin composition, and the miscibility is evaluated as 0;
[0102] If particles were observed to be distributed on the surface of the cured film, it means that the additive was not uniformly miscible in the photosensitive resin composition, and the miscibility was evaluated as X.
[0103] The compounds used in the photosensitive resin compositions of the various embodiments and comparative examples are summarized in Table 1. The solid weight percentages of the components of the photosensitive resin compositions of the various embodiments and comparative examples are listed in Table 2, wherein the total solid weight of the components excluding the organic solvent (E) is set to 100 weight%. No rheology modifier is added to the photosensitive resin compositions of the comparative examples, while rheology modifiers (R) of different types and proportions are added to the photosensitive resin compositions of the embodiments. Furthermore, Examples 1-9 and Comparative Examples 1-3 and 7 further include other additives such as surfactants, adhesion promoters and / or antioxidants, and the solid weight percentages of these additives are the remainder and are not listed in Table 2.

[0114]
[0115]
[0116] The results of the shear viscosity reduction evaluation, precipitation prevention evaluation and miscibility evaluation of the photosensitive resin composition proposed in this article are listed in Table 3 and Table 4. Table 3 lists the evaluation results of the examples, and Table 4 lists the evaluation results of the comparative examples.
[0117] Table 3
[0118]
[0119]
[0120] Table 4
[0121]
[0122] According to the above-mentioned related experiments, the components of the photosensitive resin compositions of the examples and comparative examples (Table 3) and the evaluation results after the shear viscosity reduction, precipitation prevention and miscibility tests (Table 4) show that the photosensitive resin compositions of the examples (including about 0.6 wt % to about 6.0 wt % of the rheology modifier based on the total weight of the solid content) can pass the aforementioned tests; while the photosensitive resin compositions according to the comparative examples containing less than 0.6 wt % (e.g., 0.1 wt % or 0.4 wt %) of the rheology modifier based on the total weight of the solid content, or more than 6 wt % (e.g., 10 wt % of the rheology modifier) of the rheology modifier, cannot pass all the tests.
[0123] For example, in the photosensitive resin compositions of Comparative Examples 1, 2, and 3, the content of rheology modifier added is low. Although the miscibility is good, the thixotropic index is only 1.1. This means that the difference in viscosity between the composition in a non-flowing state (rotation speed 5 rpm) and a flowing state (rotation speed 50 rpm) is not large. Therefore, the photosensitive resin compositions of Comparative Examples 1, 2, and 3 are still similar to Newtonian fluids, that is, the fluid viscosity is only slightly changed by the change of the external shear rate, and it has not been transformed into a fluid with good shear-thinning properties. Furthermore, due to the insufficient content of rheology modifier added, the components of the composition cannot be evenly dispersed and effectively prevent the pigment particles (and other solids) from precipitating in the composition after standing for a period of time, so the precipitation prevention ratio is less than 90%. In addition, in Comparative Example 7, which does not add any rheology modifier, its thixotropic index remains 1 (that is, the fluid viscosity is not changed by the change of the external shear rate), and the precipitation prevention ratio is the lowest among all comparative examples, only 87.7%.
[0124] When the content of the rheology modifier added is increased to about 0.6% by weight of the total weight of the solids, the thixotropic index exceeds 2, for example, the thixotropic index of Example 2 is 2.9, indicating that the fluid has excellent shear viscosity reduction properties, that is, the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment is a non-Newtonian fluid, which has a higher viscosity at low speed or when standing. Therefore, according to the rheology modifier addition content proposed in the embodiment of the present disclosure, it can help the pigment particles (and other solids) to effectively maintain uniform dispersion after a sufficiently long standing time, and it is not easy to precipitate, and the precipitation prevention ratio is all above 90%. Furthermore, the photosensitive resin composition proposed in the embodiment has the characteristic of reducing viscosity during the flow process, which can reach the viscosity required for the coating process, and is easier to be evenly coated on the substrate.
[0125] According to the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment, when the content of the rheology modifier added is increased to about 1.6 weight % (Examples 4, 5, 6), 2.0 weight % (Examples 7, 8, 9) and 6.0 weight % (Examples 10, 11, 12) of the total weight of the solid content, the thixotropic index is also increased. For example, the thixotropic indexes of Examples 4, 5, and 6 are 3.3, 3.6, and 2.9, respectively; the thixotropic indexes of Examples 7, 8, and 9 are increased to 4.2, 3.9, and 3.2; and the thixotropic indexes of Examples 10, 11, and 12 are further increased to 5.3, 4.6, and 4.5. Moreover, even when the content of the rheology modifier added is increased to 6.0 weight % (Examples 10, 11, and 12), the miscibility of the photosensitive resin composition is still very good. Furthermore, according to the rheology modifier addition content proposed in Examples 4-12 (accounting for 1.6 wt % to 6.0 wt % of the total solid weight), the precipitation prevention ratio is further increased to nearly 95% or above.
[0126] Furthermore, for example, in the photosensitive resin compositions of Comparative Examples 4, 5, and 6, the rheology modifier content is too high. Although the thixotropic index is as high as 5.9, 4.8, and 4.6, and has a high shear viscosity reduction property, the miscibility is poor. After forming a hardened film with a thickness of about 10 microns through spin coating and yellow light process, it can be clearly seen that the surface of the hardened film is distributed with protruding particles instead of a smooth surface by visual observation, indicating that the components in the photosensitive resin compositions prepared in Comparative Examples 4, 5, and 6 cannot be uniformly miscible. Due to the poor miscibility, it is obviously not in compliance with commercial requirements, so there is no need to test and evaluate the precipitation prevention ratio of Comparative Examples 4, 5, and 6.
[0127] In summary, the embodiments disclosed herein provide a photosensitive resin composition and a display device using the photosensitive resin composition. The photosensitive resin composition provided in the embodiments includes a rheology modifier, so that the composition has a shear viscosity reduction property, and the components of the composition have good miscibility, and can effectively maintain uniform dispersion after a sufficiently long standing time, and is not easy to produce precipitation. For example, the above embodiments have a precipitation prevention ratio of more than 90% or even more than 95% after testing. The photosensitive resin composition disclosed herein can be applied to a substrate of a display device and subjected to an optical lithography process to form at least one light-transmitting layer or a light-shielding and reflecting layer. When the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment that is uniformly dispersed and can prevent precipitation is applied to the substrate of the display device, the coating film state of the composition on the substrate and the optical properties after the lithography process can be improved. Furthermore, the shear viscosity reduction property of the photosensitive resin composition of the embodiment can make the composition have the property of reducing viscosity during the flow process, so as to achieve the viscosity required for the coating process, and help to evenly coat the composition on the substrate.
[0128] Although the present invention has been disclosed as above with several preferred embodiments, they are not intended to limit the present invention. Any person with ordinary knowledge in the technical field may make any changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention. Therefore, the scope of protection of the present invention shall be determined by the scope of the attached patent application.
