Abstract

This disclosure relates to the geometry of a balance ring. A ring-shaped component assembly for mounting to a shaft of an aircraft engine is provided. The assembly includes a first annular body having a surface defining a plurality of pull features extending from the remainder of the surface and circumferentially spaced apart. The assembly includes a second annular body defining a balance ring concentric with the first annular body, the balance ring having a plurality of protrusions and circumferential spaces between adjacent protrusions, the circumferential spaces accommodating the pull features such that the pull features of the first annular body are clamped to the protrusions.
