Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a communication device, a controller, a system and a method. Background Art
[0002] The following structure is known: in the case where a base station communicates with a user equipment (UE) via a plurality of remote radio equipments (RREs), an intermediate node is configured between the main body of the base station and the plurality of RREs (Non-Patent Document 1). The intermediate node is, for example, a forward multiplexer (FHM) or a cascade-structured RRE. The FHM duplicates a downlink signal used by a cell and sends the downlink signal to two or more RREs forming the cell. In addition, the FHM combines uplink signals received from two or more RREs and sends the combined uplink signal to the main body of the base station.
[0003] Furthermore, in the Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) Alliance, a management interface between an O-RAN Radio Unit (O-RU) controller and the O-RU has been studied (Non-Patent Document 2).

[0067] <<1. Related Technology>>
[0068] refer to Figures 1 to 4 , techniques related to exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described.
[0069] (1) O-RAN
[0070] Figure 1 The figure shows the 5G-gNB (fifth generation base station) studied by the O-RAN Alliance and the functions of managing the 5G-gNB. Figure 1, 5G-gNB includes RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC), Central Unit (CU), Distributed Unit (DU) and Radio Unit (RU). In particular, in O-RAN, DU is called O-RAN DU (O-DU), and RU is called O-RAN RU (O-RU).
[0071] For example, in Working Group 4 (WG4) of the O-RAN Alliance, an open fronthaul interface between O-DU and O-RU is being studied.
[0072] Figure 2 The C / U plane and the management plane (M plane) of O-RAN are shown. Figure 2 In O-RAN, the O-DU and O-RU in the gNB are connected to each other in the C / U plane and the M plane. There is no special node between the O-DU and the O-RU. The O-RU is also allowed to include an interface between the M plane and the network management system (NMS).
[0073] (2) Intermediate Node
[0074] In O-RAN, an intermediate node is configured between the O-DU and the O-RU, and the intermediate node can transmit signals between the O-DU and the O-RU.
[0075] Figure 3 An example of configuring FHM in O-RAN is shown. Figure 3 , FHM is configured between O-DU and O-RU. FHM can copy downlink signals (signals from O-DU to O-RU) and send the same downlink signals to multiple O-RUs. FHM can combine uplink signals (signals from O-RU to O-DU) from multiple O-RUs. In this case, multiple O-RUs send and receive common radio signals and form a logical cell.
[0076] Figure 4 An example of a cascade structure of O-RU is shown. Figure 4 In the cascade structure of O-RU, O-DU and multiple O-RUs are connected in series. In the cascade structure, the cascade O-RU replicates the downlink signal, sends the downlink signal to its adjacent O-RU, and the cascade O-RU itself also sends the downlink signal to the UE via radio. The cascade O-RU combines the uplink signal from the adjacent O-RU and the uplink signal received by the cascade O-RU itself via radio. In this cascade structure, multiple O-RUs send and receive common radio signals and form a logical cell.
[0077] The above-mentioned logical cell may also be referred to as a shared cell.
[0078] The combination of uplink signals is not limited to simple combination (e.g., calculation of sum or average), but can be selective combination (e.g., selection of one uplink signal, simple combination of multiple selected uplink signals, or simple combination of multiple weighted uplink signals, etc.).
[0079] <<2. First Exemplary Embodiment>>
[0080] Next, refer to Figures 5 to 30 , a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention will be described.
[0081] <2.1. System structure>
[0082] refer to Figures 5 to 14 , an example of the structure of the system according to the first exemplary embodiment will be described.
[0083] Figure 5 An example of a schematic structure of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Figure 5 , the system 10 includes a radio access network node (RAN) 100 , an intermediate node 200 , and a radio unit (RU) 300 .
[0084] For example, the system according to the first exemplary embodiment complies with the technical specification (TS) of the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). In addition, for example, the system according to the first exemplary embodiment also complies with the technical specification (TS) of the O-RAN Alliance. In this case, for example, the RAN node 100 is an O-DU, and the RU 300 is an O-RU. Of course, the system according to the first exemplary embodiment is not limited to these examples.
[0085] Notice, Figure 1 Only a single intermediate node 200 and a single RU 300 are shown; however, as will be described later, the system 10 may include multiple intermediate nodes 200 and / or multiple RUs 300.
[0086] (1) Each node
[0087] -RAN node 100
[0088] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments (UEs) via the RU 300. For example, the RAN node 100 transmits a downlink signal to the UE via the RU 300, and receives an uplink signal via the RU 300.
[0089] In case the system 10 includes multiple RUs, the RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via the multiple RUs.
[0090] For example, the RAN node 100 is a first RAN node configured to process at least one lower protocol layer in a protocol stack of a radio access network (RAN). For example, the at least one lower protocol layer includes a radio link control (RLC) layer, a medium access control (MAC) layer, and a higher physical (High PHY) layer.
[0091] For example, the RAN node 100 (first RAN node) is connected to a second RAN node configured to process at least one higher protocol layer in a protocol stack. For example, the at least one higher protocol layer includes a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) layer, a Radio Resource Control (RRC) layer, and a Service Data Adaptation Protocol (SDAP) layer.
[0092] Specifically, for example, Figure 1 In the same example, the RAN node 100 (first RAN node) is a DU (e.g., O-DU), and the second RAN node is a CU (e.g., O-CU). Note that multiple first RAN nodes (e.g., O-DUs) can be connected to the second RAN node (e.g., O-CU).
[0093] In addition, for example, the RAN node 100 also operates as a controller configured to control the configuration of the RU 300. Specifically, for example, the RU 300 is an O-RU, and the RAN node 100 operates as an O-RU controller configured to control the configuration of the RU 300.
[0094] -RU 300
[0095] The RU 300 performs radio frequency (RF) processing. For example, the RU 300 also performs processing of a lower physical (Low PHY) layer.
[0096] -Intermediate Node 200
[0097] The intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300. The intermediate node 200 may be a FHM, or may be a RU in a cascade structure (in other words, a cascade RU). Alternatively, the intermediate node 200 may be a combination of a FHM and a RU in a cascade structure. The specific operation of the intermediate node 200 will be described in detail later.
[0098] (2) M surface and C / U surface
[0099] -First example: FHM case
[0100] Figure 6 A first example of connection between the M-plane and the C / U-plane according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Figure 6, in the first example, the system 10 includes six RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, 300C, 300D, 300E, and 300F), and the intermediate node 200 is a FHM.
[0101] The RAN node 100 establishes a connection for the M-plane with each RU 300 and a connection for the M-plane with the intermediate node 200. For example, each of these connections for the M-plane is a connection of a protocol for the structure of the network (for example, a NETCONF connection). The RAN node 100 manages the intermediate node 200 and each RU 300 by using these connections for the M-plane.
[0102] In addition, the RAN node 100 establishes a connection with the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane of each logical cell (shared cell). A connection is also established between the intermediate node 200 and each RU 300 for communication of the C / U plane. The intermediate node 200 performs duplication processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic).
[0103] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more UEs via six RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, 300C, 300D, 300E, and 300F). The intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the six RUs 300.
[0104] For example, the RAN node 100 communicates with one or more UEs via the RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C, and the intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C. Specifically, the intermediate node 200 receives downlink signals transmitted via the RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C (from the RAN node 100), replicates the downlink signals, and transmits the downlink signals to the RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C. The intermediate node 200 combines uplink signals received via the RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C, and transmits the combined uplink signals (to the RAN node 100). The RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C transmit common downlink signals and receive common uplink signals, thereby forming one shared cell.
[0105] For example, the RAN node 100 communicates with one or more UEs via the RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F, and the intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F. Specifically, the intermediate node 200 receives downlink signals transmitted via the RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F (from the RAN node 100), replicates the downlink signals, and transmits the downlink signals to the RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F. The intermediate node 200 combines uplink signals received via the RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F, and transmits the combined uplink signals (to the RAN node 100). The RUs 300D, 300E, and 300F transmit common downlink signals and receive common uplink signals, thereby forming one shared cell.
[0106] The combination of uplink signals may be a simple combination (e.g., calculation of a sum or an average value), or may be a selective combination (e.g., selection of one uplink signal, a simple combination of a plurality of selected uplink signals, or a simple combination of a plurality of weighted uplink signals, etc.). More generally, the combination of uplink signals refers to generating an appropriate uplink signal based on a plurality of uplink signals. Note that this is also true for the combination process described later.
[0107] Note that Figure 6 In the example shown, the system 10 includes six RUs 300; however, the system 10 may include 2 to 5 RUs 300, or may include 7 or more RUs 300. In other words, more generally, the system 10 may include two or more RUs 300.
[0108] - Second example: case of cascade structure
[0109] Figure 7 A second example of connection between the M-plane and the C / U-plane according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Figure 7 In the second example, the system 10 includes two intermediate nodes 200 (intermediate nodes 200A and 200B) each also operating as an RU and an RU 300. In other words, in the second example, the system 10 has a cascade structure, and the two intermediate nodes 200 are cascade RUs (eg, cascade O-RUs).
[0110] The RAN node 100 establishes a connection for the M-plane with each intermediate node 200 and a connection for the M-plane with the RU 300. For example, each of these connections for the M-plane is a NETCONF connection. The RAN node 100 manages each intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 by using these connections for the M-plane.
[0111] In addition, the RAN node 100 establishes a connection with the intermediate node 200 (specifically, the intermediate node 200A) for communication of the C / U plane of each logical cell (shared cell). For communication of the C / U plane, a connection between the intermediate node 200A and the intermediate node 200B and a connection between the intermediate node 200B and the RU 300 are also established. Each intermediate node 200 performs a duplication process of a downlink signal (downlink traffic) and a combination process of an uplink signal (uplink traffic).
[0112] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more UEs via three RUs (intermediate nodes 200A and 200B and RU 300). The three RUs and the RAN node 100 are connected in series. The intermediate node 200A transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200B, and the intermediate node 200B transmits signals between the intermediate node 200A and the RU 300. Specifically, the intermediate node 200A receives a downlink signal transmitted via the three RUs (intermediate nodes 200A and 200B and RU 300), replicates the downlink signal, and transmits the downlink signal to the intermediate node 200B. The intermediate node 200B also receives the downlink signal, replicates the downlink signal, and transmits the downlink signal to the RU 300. The intermediate node 200B combines the uplink signals received via the intermediate node 200B (RU) and the RU 300, and transmits the combined uplink signal (to the intermediate node 200A). The intermediate node 200A combines uplink signals received via the intermediate nodes 200A and 200B (RU) and the RU 300 (in other words, a combined uplink signal received from the intermediate node 200B and an uplink signal received via the intermediate node 200A), and transmits the combined uplink signal (to the RAN node 100).
[0113] Note that Figure 7 In the example shown, the system 10 includes three RUs; however, the system 10 may include two RUs (intermediate node 200 and RU 300), or may include four or more RUs (three or more intermediate nodes 200 and RU 300). In other words, more generally, the system 10 may include two or more RUs.
[0114] -Protocol stack
[0115] Figure 8An example of a protocol stack used for communication of the M-plane and C / U-plane between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300 via the intermediate node 200 is shown. In the C / U-plane, Ethernet (registered trademark) is used. As an option, the User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and the Internet Protocol (IP) can also be used. The intermediate node 200 performs copy processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic) as processing of the C / U-plane. In the M-plane, the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) is used. For the M-plane, the intermediate node 200 performs IP routing or operates as an Ethernet switch.
[0116] Fig. 9 An example of a protocol stack used for communication of the M-plane and the C / U-plane between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is shown. When the intermediate node 200 also operates as an RU (in other words, in the case of a cascade structure), a protocol stack related to the C / U-plane is used. In the M-plane, NETCONF is used.
[0117] Note that in the case of using NETCONF, the RAN node 100 is a NETCONF client, and the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 are each a NETCONF server. Here, an example of using NETCONF as a protocol for the structure of the network is described; however, the first exemplary embodiment is not limited to this example. For example, other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) may be used as the protocol for the structure of the network.
[0118] -flow
[0119] For the communication of the C / U plane between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300, for example, a connection between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is established, and a connection between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 is established. In other words, a flow (higher flow) between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is configured, and a flow (lower flow) between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 is configured. Each flow may be referred to as a transport flow, an interface, a link, or a connection, etc. Note that, instead of configuring a structure of a flow between adjacent nodes, a flow between the RAN node 100 and each node (intermediate node 200 or RU 300) may be configured as described later as a first modification.
[0120] For example, the flow is configured in the data model of the M-plane in the RU 300 or the intermediate node 200. For example, the data model is o-ran-processing-element.yang (particularly, a transport flow).
[0121] --First example
[0122] As a first example, a flow is configured as an ETH-INTERFACE (or eth-flow). The ETH-INTERFACE (or eth-flow) includes two MAC addresses and a VLAN ID. For example, a flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is configured as the MAC address of the RAN node 100 and the MAC address and VLAN ID of the intermediate node 200. For example, a flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 is configured as the MAC address of the intermediate node 200 and the MAC address and VLAN ID of the RU 300.
[0123] --Second example
[0124] As a second example, the flow may be ALIASMAC-INTERFACE (or aliasmac-flow) and may include a MAC address, an Alias MAC address, and a VLAN ID. Fig.10 As shown in the example of , flow 50 is configured as ETH-INTERFACE (or eth-flow) and includes a physical MAC address, while each flow 60 is configured as ALIASMAC-INTERFACE (or aliasmac-flow) and includes an Alias MAC address. Therefore, even if there is only one physical MAC address, there are multiple Alias MAC addresses, and multiple flows 60 can be configured.
[0125] --Third example
[0126] As a third example, the flow may be a UDP IP-INTERFACE (or udp ip-flow) and include two sets including an IP address and a UDP port number. The flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 may be configured as a set of an IP address and a UDP port number of the RAN node 100 and a set of an IP address and a UDP port number of the intermediate node 200. The flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 may be configured as a set of an IP address and a UDP port number of the intermediate node 200 and a set of an IP address and a UDP port number of the RU 300.
[0127] Note that an example in which a flow is configured as ETH-INTERFACE will be described below; however, of course, ETH-INTERFACE in these descriptions may be replaced by ALIASMAC-INTERFACE or UDPIP-INTERFACE.
[0128] (3) Specific examples of the system
[0129] refer to Figures 11 to 14, various specific examples of the system 10 will be described. Note that, of course, the system 10 is not limited to these examples.
[0130] -First specific example
[0131] Fig.11 A first specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.11 , the system 10 includes a RAN node 100, an intermediate node 200, and three RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C). In the first specific example, the intermediate node 200 is a FHM.
[0132] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via three RUs 300. The intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the three RUs 300. In other words, the intermediate node 200 performs duplication processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic).
[0133] In the first specific example, two flows (flow-1 and flow-2) are configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200. Flow-1 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-1A of the intermediate node 200. Flow-2 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-2A of the intermediate node 200.
[0134] In the first specific example, three flows (flow-3, flow-4, and flow-5) are configured between the intermediate node 200 and three RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C). Flow-3 includes address-3A of the intermediate node 200 and address-3 of RU 300A. Flow-4 includes address-4A of the intermediate node 200 and address-4 of RU 300B. Flow-5 includes address-5A of the intermediate node 200 and address-5 of RU 300C.
[0135] - Second specific example
[0136] Fig.12 A second specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.12 , the system 10 includes a RAN node 100, an intermediate node 200, and a RU 300. The second specific example is an example of a cascade structure, and the intermediate node 200 is a cascade RU (eg, cascade O-RU) that also operates as a RU.
[0137] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via the intermediate node 200 (tandem RU) and the RU 300. The intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300. In other words, the intermediate node 200 performs duplication processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic).
[0138] In the second specific example, one flow (flow-2) is configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200. Flow-2 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-2A of the intermediate node 200.
[0139] In the second specific example, one flow (flow-5) is configured between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300. The flow-5 includes the address-5A of the intermediate node 200 and the address-5 of the RU 300.
[0140] - Third specific example
[0141] Fig.13 A third specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.13 , the system 10 includes a RAN node 100, an intermediate node 200, and three RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C) as in the first specific example. In addition, the intermediate node 200 also operates as a RU as in the second specific example. In other words, the third specific example is an example of a combination of the first specific example (FHM) and the second specific example (cascade structure).
[0142] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via four RUs (intermediate node 200 and three RUs 300). The intermediate node 200 transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and the three RUs 300. In other words, the intermediate node 200 performs duplication processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic).
[0143] The description about the stream is the same as that in the first specific example, and therefore, the repeated description will be omitted.
[0144] -Fourth specific example
[0145] Fig.14 A fourth specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.14 , the system 10 includes a RAN node 100, two intermediate nodes 200 (intermediate nodes 200A and 200B), and three RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C). In other words, in addition to the cascade structure of the third specific example, the fourth specific example also includes one RU.
[0146] The RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via five RUs (two intermediate nodes 200 and three RUs 300). The intermediate node 200A transmits signals between the RAN node 100 and each of the RUs 300A, 300B and the intermediate node 200B. The intermediate node 200B transmits signals between the intermediate node 200A and the RU 300C. In other words, the two intermediate nodes 200 perform duplication processing of downlink signals (downlink traffic) and combination processing of uplink signals (uplink traffic).
[0147] In the fourth specific example, two flows (flow-1 and flow-2) are configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200A. This structure is the same as in the first specific example and the third specific example.
[0148] In the fourth specific example, two flows (flow-3 and flow-4) are configured between the intermediate node 200A and two RUs 300 (RU 300A and 300B), and one flow (flow-5) is configured between the intermediate node 200A and the intermediate node 200B. In particular, flow-5 includes address-5A of the intermediate node 200A and address-5 of the intermediate node 200B.
[0149] In addition, in the fourth specific example, one flow (flow-6) is configured between the intermediate node 200B and the RU 300C. The flow-6 includes the address-6A of the intermediate node 200B and the address-6 of the RU 300C.
[0150] The above describes a specific example of the system 10. Each address used here is, for example, a MAC address. Note that, as described above, each address may be an Alias MAC address, or may be a collection of an IP address and a UDP port number.
[0151] <2.2. RAN Node Structure>
[0152] Fig.15 An example of a schematic structure of the RAN node 100 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.15 , the RAN node 100 includes a network communication unit 110 , a storage unit 120 and a processing unit 130 .
[0153] (1) Network communication unit 110
[0154] The network communication unit 110 transmits a signal to the intermediate node 200 and receives a signal from the intermediate node 200 .

[0156] (2) Storage unit 120
[0157] The storage unit 120 temporarily or permanently stores programs (instructions) and parameters and various data for the operation of the RAN node 100. The program includes one or more instructions for the operation of the RAN node 100.
[0158] (3) Processing unit 130
[0159] The processing unit 130 provides various functions of the RAN node 100. The processing unit 130 includes a first communication processing unit 131 and a second communication processing unit 133. Note that the processing unit 130 may also include constituent elements other than these constituent elements. In other words, the processing unit 130 may also perform operations other than the operations of these constituent elements.
[0160] The first communication processing unit 131 performs processing of the M plane. The second communication processing unit 133 performs processing of the C / U plane.
[0161] For example, the processing unit 130 (the first communication processing unit 131 and the second communication processing unit 133 ) communicates with other nodes (eg, the intermediate node 200 or the RU 300 ) via the network communication unit 110 .
[0162] (4) Embodiment
[0163] The network communication unit 110 may be implemented with a network interface (e.g., a network adapter or a network interface card, etc.) such as Ethernet (registered trademark). The storage unit 120 may be implemented with a memory (e.g., a non-volatile memory and / or a volatile memory) and / or a hard disk, etc. The processing unit 130 may be implemented with one or more processors. The first communication processing unit 131 and the second communication processing unit 133 may be implemented with the same processor, or may be implemented with separate processors. The memory (storage unit 120) may be included in one or more processors or may be provided outside one or more processors.
[0164] The RAN node 100 may include a memory configured to store a program (instruction) and one or more processors that can execute the program (instruction). The one or more processors may execute the program and thereby perform the operation of the processing unit 130 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 131 and the second communication processing unit 133). The program may be a program for causing the processor to perform the operation of the processing unit 130 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 131 and the second communication processing unit 133).
[0165] Note that the RAN node 100 may be virtualized. In other words, the RAN node 100 may be implemented as a virtual machine. In this case, the RAN node 100 (virtual machine) may operate as a physical machine (hardware) including a processor and memory, etc., and a virtual machine on a hypervisor.
[0166] <2.3. Structure of intermediate nodes>
[0167] Fig.16 An example of a schematic structure of the intermediate node 200 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.16 , the intermediate node 200 includes a network communication unit 210 , a radio communication unit 220 , a storage unit 230 , and a processing unit 240 .
[0168] (1) Network communication unit 210
[0169] The network communication unit 210 transmits and receives signals to and from the RAN node 100 , the RU 300 , or other intermediate nodes 200 .
[0170] (2) Radio communication unit 220
[0171] The radio communication unit 220 performs radio frequency (RF) processing and transmits and receives signals by radio. For example, the radio communication unit 220 receives a signal from a UE and transmits a signal to a UE.
[0172] (3) Storage unit 230
[0173] The storage unit 230 temporarily or permanently stores programs (instructions) and parameters and various data for the operation of the intermediate node 200. The program includes one or more instructions for the operation of the intermediate node 200.
[0174] (4) Processing unit 240
[0175] The processing unit 240 provides various functions of the intermediate node 200. The processing unit 240 includes a first communication processing unit 241, a second communication processing unit 243, a radio communication processing unit 245, and an information obtaining unit 247. Note that the processing unit 240 may also include constituent elements other than these constituent elements. In other words, the processing unit 240 may also perform operations other than the operations of these constituent elements.
[0176] The first communication processing unit 241 performs processing of the M plane. The second communication processing unit 243 performs processing of the C / U plane.
[0177] The radio communication processing unit 245 performs, for example, processing of a lower physical (Low PHY) layer.
[0178] The information obtaining unit 247 obtains management information as described later.
[0179] For example, the processing unit 240 (first communication processing unit 241 and second communication processing unit 243) communicates with other nodes (e.g., RAN node 100, RU 300 or other intermediate nodes 200) via the network communication unit 210. The processing unit 240 (radio communication processing unit 245) communicates with the UE via the radio communication unit 220.
[0180] (5) Implementation example
[0181] The network communication unit 210 can be implemented with a network interface (e.g., a network adapter or a network interface card, etc.) such as Ethernet (Ethernet, a registered trademark). The radio communication unit 220 can be implemented with an antenna and an RF circuit, etc., and the antenna can be a directional antenna. The storage unit 230 can be implemented with a memory (e.g., a non-volatile memory and / or a volatile memory) and / or a hard disk, etc. The processing unit 240 can be implemented with one or more processors. The first communication processing unit 241, the second communication processing unit 243, the radio communication processing unit 245, and the information acquisition unit 247 can be implemented with the same processor, or can be implemented with a separate processor. The memory (storage unit 230) can be included in one or more processors, or can be set outside one or more processors.
[0182] The intermediate node 200 may include a memory configured to store a program (instruction) and one or more processors that can execute the program (instruction). The one or more processors may execute the program and thereby perform the operation of the processing unit 240 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 241, the second communication processing unit 243, the radio communication processing unit 245, and the information obtaining unit 247). The program may be a program for causing the processor to perform the operation of the processing unit 240 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 241, the second communication processing unit 243, the radio communication processing unit 245, and the information obtaining unit 247).
[0183] Note that the above describes an example in which the intermediate node 200 includes the radio communication unit 220 and the radio communication processing unit 245. However, in the case where the intermediate node 200 does not operate as an RU, the intermediate node 200 does not need to include the radio communication unit 220 and the radio communication processing unit 245.
[0184] <2.4.RU Structure>
[0185] Fig.17 An example of a schematic structure of the RU 300 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown. Fig.17 , the RU 300 includes a network communication unit 310 , a radio communication unit 320 , a storage unit 330 , and a processing unit 340 .
[0186] (1) Network communication unit 310
[0187] The network communication unit 310 transmits a signal to the intermediate node 200 and receives a signal from the intermediate node 200 .
[0188] (2) Radio communication unit 320
[0189] The radio communication unit 320 performs radio frequency (RF) processing and transmits and receives signals by radio. For example, the radio communication unit 320 receives a signal from a UE and transmits a signal to the UE.
[0190] (3) Storage unit 330
[0191] The storage unit 330 temporarily or permanently stores programs (instructions) and parameters and various data for the operation of the RU 300. The program includes one or more instructions for the operation of the RU 300.
[0192] (4) Processing unit 340
[0193] The processing unit 340 provides various functions of the RU 300. The processing unit 340 includes a first communication processing unit 341, a second communication processing unit 343, a radio communication processing unit 345, and an information obtaining unit 347. Note that the processing unit 340 may also include constituent elements other than these constituent elements. In other words, the processing unit 340 may also perform operations other than the operations of these constituent elements.
[0194] The first communication processing unit 341 performs processing of the M plane. The second communication processing unit 343 performs processing of the C / U plane.
[0195] The radio communication processing unit 345 performs, for example, processing of a lower physical (Low PHY) layer.
[0196] The information obtaining unit 347 obtains management information as described later.
[0197] For example, the processing unit 340 (first communication processing unit 341 and second communication processing unit 343) communicates with other nodes (eg, RAN node 100 or intermediate node 200) via the network communication unit 310. The processing unit 340 (radio communication processing unit 345) communicates with the UE via the radio communication unit 320.
[0198] (5) Implementation example
[0199] The network communication unit 310 can be implemented with a network interface (e.g., a network adapter or a network interface card, etc.) such as Ethernet (Ethernet, a registered trademark). The radio communication unit 320 can be implemented with an antenna and an RF circuit, etc., and the antenna can be a directional antenna. The storage unit 330 can be implemented with a memory (e.g., a non-volatile memory and / or a volatile memory) and / or a hard disk, etc. The processing unit 340 can be implemented with one or more processors. The first communication processing unit 341, the second communication processing unit 343, the radio communication processing unit 345, and the information acquisition unit 347 can be implemented with the same processor, or can be implemented with a separate processor. The memory (storage unit 330) can be included in one or more processors, or can be set outside one or more processors.
[0200] The RU 300 may include a memory configured to store a program (instruction) and one or more processors that can execute the program (instruction). The one or more processors may execute the program and thereby perform the operation of the processing unit 340 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 341, the second communication processing unit 343, the radio communication processing unit 345, and the information obtaining unit 347). The program may be a program for causing the processor to perform the operation of the processing unit 340 (the operation of the first communication processing unit 341, the second communication processing unit 343, the radio communication processing unit 345, and the information obtaining unit 347).
[0201] <2.5. Technical Features>
[0202] refer to Figures 18 to 25 , technical features according to the first exemplary embodiment will be described.
[0203] Fig.18 1 is a flowchart for explaining an example of a schematic process of the processing of the RAN node 100 according to the first exemplary embodiment. In general, first, the RAN node 100 obtains the first management information, the second management information, and the third management information (S510, S520, and S530). Subsequently, the RAN node 100 controls the configuration of the RU 300 (S540), and also controls the configuration of the intermediate node 200 (S550 and S560).
[0204] The following will be based on Fig.18 The technical features according to the first exemplary embodiment are explained with reference to the procedures of the processing shown in FIG.
[0205] (1) Step 510: Obtaining the first management information
[0206] The RU 300 (information obtaining unit 347) obtains first management information indicating the address of the RU 300 used by the RU 300 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane. Then, the RU 300 (first communication processing unit 341) sends the first management information to the RAN node 100.
[0207] The RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131) receives the first management information from the RU 300. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the first management information indicating the address of the RU 300.
[0208] For example, the address of the RU 300 is the MAC address of the RU 300. Alternatively, the address of the RU 300 may be the Alias MAC address of the RU 300, or may be the IP address and UDP port number of the RU 300.
[0209] Reference again Fig.11 In this specific example, RU 300A transmits first management information indicating address-3 of RU 300A to RAN node 100, RU 300B transmits first management information indicating address-4 of RU 300B to RAN node 100, and RU 300C transmits first management information indicating address-5 of RU 300C to RAN node 100. RAN node 100 receives first management information from each of RU 300A, 300B, and 300C. In this way, RAN node 100 obtains first management information indicating address-3, address-4, and address-5, respectively.
[0210] Reference again Fig.14 In this specific example, RU 300A transmits first management information indicating address-3 of RU 300A to RAN node 100, RU 300B transmits first management information indicating address-4 of RU 300B to RAN node 100, and RU 300C transmits first management information indicating address-6 of RU 300C to RAN node 100. RAN node 100 receives first management information from each of RU 300A, 300B, and 300C. In this way, RAN node 100 obtains first management information indicating address-3, address-4, and address-6, respectively.
[0211] In order to send and receive the first management information, the RAN node 100 (client of the protocol) and the RU 300 (server of the protocol) use a protocol for the structure of the network. For example, the protocol is NETCONF, the client is a NETCONF client, and the server is a NETCONF server. Note that the protocol may be other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) instead of NETCONF.
[0212] (2) Step 520: Obtaining the Second Management Information
[0213] The intermediate node 200 (information obtaining unit 247) obtains the second management information indicating the address of the intermediate node 200, wherein the address of the intermediate node 200 is used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate node 200 located on the RAN node 100 side) for communication of the C / U plane. Then, the intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) sends the second management information to the RAN node 100.
[0214] The RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131) receives the second management information from the intermediate node 200. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the second management information indicating the address of the intermediate node 200.
[0215] For example, the address of the intermediate node 200 is the MAC address of the intermediate node 200. Alternatively, the address of the intermediate node 200 may be an Alias MAC address of the intermediate node 200, or may be an IP address and a UDP port number of the intermediate node 200.
[0216] Reference again Fig.11 In this specific example, the intermediate node 200 obtains the second management information indicating the address-1A and the address-2A of the intermediate node 200, and sends the second management information to the RAN node 100. The RAN node 100 receives the second management information. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the second management information indicating the address-1A and the address-2A.
[0217] Reference again Fig.14 In this specific example, the intermediate node 200A obtains the second management information indicating the address-1A and the address-2A of the intermediate node 200A, and transmits the second management information to the RAN node 100. The intermediate node 200B obtains the second management information indicating the address-5 of the intermediate node 200B, and transmits the second management information to the RAN node 100. The RAN node 100 receives the second management information from each of the intermediate node 200A and the intermediate node 200B. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the second management information indicating the address-1A and the address-2A, and the second management information indicating the address-5.
[0218] In order to send and receive the second management information, the RAN node 100 (protocol client) and the intermediate node 200 (protocol server) use a protocol for the structure of the network. For example, the protocol is NETCONF, the client is a NETCONF client, and the server is a NETCONF server. Note that the protocol may be other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) instead of NETCONF.
[0219] By obtaining the second management information as described above, the realization of communication via the C / U plane of the intermediate node 200 is further facilitated.
[0220] (3) Step 530: Obtaining the third management information
[0221] The intermediate node 200 (information obtaining unit 247) obtains third management information indicating a correspondence relationship between an address of the intermediate node 200 used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RU 300 for communication of the C / U plane and an address of the RU 300 used by the RU 300 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane. Then, the intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) transmits the third management information to the RAN node 100.
[0222] -Third management information
[0223] For example, the third management information includes the address of the intermediate node 200 and the address of the RU 300 .
[0224] -address
[0225] For example, the address of the intermediate node 200 is the MAC address of the intermediate node 200 , and the address of the RU 300 is the MAC address of the RU 300 .
[0226] Optionally, the address of the intermediate node 200 may be an Alias MAC address of the intermediate node 200 , and the address of the RU 300 may be an Alias MAC address of the RU 300 .
[0227] Alternatively, the address of the intermediate node 200 may be an IP address and a UDP port number of the intermediate node 200 , and the address of the RU 300 may be an IP address and a UDP port number of the RU 300 .
[0228] - Specific examples
[0229] Reference again Fig.11In this specific example, the intermediate node 200 obtains third management information indicating the correspondence between address-3A of the intermediate node 200 and address-3 of RU 300A, the correspondence between address-4A of the intermediate node 200 and address-4 of RU 300B, and the correspondence between address-5A of the intermediate node 200 and address-5 of RU 300C. Then, the intermediate node 200 sends the third management information to the RAN node 100. The RAN node 100 receives the third management information. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the third management information indicating the respective correspondences.
[0230] Reference again Fig.14 . In this specific example, the intermediate node 200A obtains the third management information indicating the correspondence between the address-3A of the intermediate node 200A and the address-3 of the RU 300A, the correspondence between the address-4A of the intermediate node 200A and the address-4 of the RU 300B, and the correspondence between the address-5A of the intermediate node 200A and the address-5 of the intermediate node 200B. Then, the intermediate node 200A sends the third management information to the RAN node 100. The intermediate node 200B obtains the correspondence between the address-6A of the intermediate node 200B and the address-6 of the RU 300C. Then, the intermediate node 200B sends the third management information to the RAN node 100. The RAN node 100 receives the third management information from each of the intermediate nodes 200A and 200B. In this way, the RAN node 100 obtains the third management information indicating the respective correspondences.
[0231] -How to obtain
[0232] For example, the address is a MAC address, and the second management information is the adjacent interface information obtained from the physical port connection information. In this case, the intermediate node 200 (information obtaining unit 247) obtains the adjacent interface information using the Ethernet operation, administration, maintenance (OAM) loopback request, response.
[0233] Alternatively, the address may be an IP address and a UDP port number, and in this case, the intermediate node 200 (information obtaining unit 247) may obtain the second management information using a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) process and / or an Address Resolution Protocol (ARP).
[0234] As an alternative method, Fig.19As shown, the interface of the RU 300 of the intermediate node 200 can be configured as ietf-interface and ietf-ip. In this case, the addresses (address-3, address-4, and address-5) of the RU 300 corresponding to the addresses (address-3A, address-4A, and address-5A) of the intermediate node 200 can be included in the neighbors. The intermediate node 200 (information obtaining unit 247) can obtain information such as the third management information.
[0235] -Sending method
[0236] For example, the intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) sends the third management information to the RAN node 100 by using a protocol for the structure of the network, and the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131) receives the third management information from the intermediate node 200 by using the protocol. The intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) is a server of the protocol, and the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131) is a client of the protocol. For example, the protocol is NETCONF, the client is a NETCONF client, and the server is a NETCONF server. Note that the protocol may be other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) instead of NETCONF.
[0237] By obtaining the third management information as described above, the realization of communication via the C / U plane of the intermediate node 200 is further facilitated.
[0238] (4) Step 540: Control of configuration of RU 300
[0239] The RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the configuration of the RU 300 based on the first management information and the second management information.
[0240] - Stream configuration
[0241] The configuration of the RU 300 is the configuration of the flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 .
[0242] For example, the configuration of the flow includes the address of the RU 300 corresponding to the flow (the address of the RU 300 used by the RU 300 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane) and the address of the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the flow (the address of the intermediate node 200 used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RU 300 for communication of the C / U plane). In addition, the configuration of the flow also includes a virtual local area network (VLAN) ID.
[0243] -control
[0244] For example, the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131) determines the configuration of the RU 300 and transmits configuration information indicating the configuration of the RU 300 to the RU 300. The RU 300 (first communication processing unit 341) receives the configuration information from the RAN node 100 and configures the configuration for the RU 300.
[0245] For such control, the RAN node 100 (client of the protocol) and the RU 300 (server of the protocol) use a protocol for the structure of the network. For example, the protocol is NETCONF, the client is a NETCONF client, and the server is a NETCONF server. Note that the protocol may be other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) instead of NETCONF.
[0246] - Specific examples
[0247] Reference again Fig.11 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-3 (configuration of RU 300A) including address-3A, address-3 and VLAN ID. Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU 300A. Then, RU 300A configures the configuration for RU 300A. As a result, flow-3 is configured.
[0248] The RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-4 including address-4A, address-4 and VLAN ID (configuration of RU300B). Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU300B. Then, RU300B configures the configuration for RU300B. As a result, flow-4 is configured.
[0249] The RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-5 including address-5A, address-5 and VLAN ID (configuration of RU300C). Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU300C. Then, RU300C configures the configuration for RU300C. As a result, flow-5 is configured.
[0250] Note that in addition to configuring stream-6 instead of stream-5, Fig.14 The specific example operation is the same as above Fig.11 The operation of the specific example is the same.
[0251] (5) Step 550: Control of the first configuration of the intermediate node 200
[0252] The RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the first configuration of the intermediate node 200 based on the second management information.
[0253] - Stream configuration
[0254] The first configuration of the intermediate node 200 is a configuration of a flow between the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate node 200 located on the side of the RAN node 100 ) and the intermediate node 200 .
[0255] For example, the configuration of the flow includes the address of the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate node 200) used by the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate node 200) to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane and the address of the intermediate node 200 used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate node 200) for communication of the C / U plane. In addition, the configuration of the flow also includes a virtual local area network (VLAN) ID.
[0256] -control
[0257] For example, the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131) determines a first configuration of the intermediate node 200, and sends configuration information indicating the first configuration of the intermediate node 200 to the intermediate node 200. The intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) receives the configuration information from the RAN node 100, and configures the configuration for the intermediate node 200.
[0258] For such control, the RAN node 100 (client of the protocol) and the intermediate node 200 (server of the protocol) use a protocol for the structure of the network. For example, the protocol is NETCONF, the client is a NETCONF client, and the server is a NETCONF server. Note that the protocol may be other protocols (e.g., RESTCONF, etc.) instead of NETCONF.
[0259] - Specific examples
[0260] Reference again Fig.11 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-1 including address-1, address-1A and VLAN ID (configuration of the intermediate node 200) and the configuration of flow-2 including address-2, address-2A and VLAN ID (configuration of the intermediate node 200). Then, the RAN node 100 transmits configuration information indicating the configuration to the intermediate node 200. Then, the intermediate node 200 configures the configuration for the intermediate node 200. As a result, flow-1 and flow-2 are configured.
[0261] Note that in addition to further configuring stream-5, Fig.14 The specific example operation is the same as above Fig.11 The operation of the specific example is the same.
[0262] (6) Step 560: Configuring the Second Configuration of the Intermediate Node 200
[0263] The RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 based on the second management information and the third management information.
[0264] -Configuration of flow correspondence
[0265] The second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes the configuration of the correspondence between the higher flow between the RAN node 100 (or other intermediate nodes 200 located on the RAN node 100 side) and the intermediate node 200 and the lower flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 (or other intermediate nodes 200 also operating as RU).
[0266] For example, the configuration of the correspondence includes the address of the RAN node (or other intermediate node 200) or the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the higher flow and the address of the intermediate node 200 or the RU 300 (or other intermediate node 200 also operating as RU) corresponding to the lower flow. Optionally, the configuration of the correspondence may include identification information of the higher flow and identification information of the lower flow.
[0267] For example, in the case where the RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via multiple RUs, the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes the configuration of the corresponding relationship between each higher flow between the RAN node 100 (or the other intermediate node 200 mentioned above) and the intermediate node 200 and one or more lower flows between corresponding one or more RUs in the multiple RUs and the intermediate node 200. The corresponding one or more RUs form a shared cell.
[0268] For example, in the case where the intermediate node 200 is one RU among a plurality of RUs (in other words, a cascaded RU), the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes a configuration of a correspondence between a higher flow between the RAN node 100 (or the above-mentioned other intermediate nodes 200) and the intermediate node 20 and a radio communication performed by the intermediate node 200 (RU). The radio communication corresponds to "radio" described later.
[0269] -control
[0270] For example, the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131) determines the second configuration of the intermediate node 200, and sends configuration information indicating the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 to the intermediate node 200. The intermediate node 200 (first communication processing unit 241) receives the configuration information from the RAN node 100, and configures the configuration for the intermediate node 200.
[0271] For such control, the RAN node 100 (client of the protocol) and the intermediate node 200 (server of the protocol) use a protocol for the structure of the network.
[0272] - Specific examples
[0273] --First specific example
[0274] refer to Fig. 20 A first specific example (with Fig.11 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of the correspondence between flow-1 (higher flow) and flow-3 and flow-4 (lower flow). In addition, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of the correspondence between flow-2 (higher flow) and flow-5 (lower flow).
[0275] In this case, the configuration of the correspondence relationship is, for example, any one of the following first to fifth examples.
[0276] (First Example) Address-1A-Address-3, Address-4
[0277] Address-2A-Address-5
[0278] (Second Example) Address-1-Address-3A, Address-4A
[0279] Address-2-Address-5A
[0280] (Third Example) Address-1A-Address-3A, Address-4A
[0281] Address-2A-Address-5A
[0282] (Fourth Example) Address-1-Address-3, Address-4
[0283] Address-2-Address-5
[0284] (Fifth Example) Stream-1-Stream-3, Stream-4
[0285] Stream-2-Stream-5
[0286] For example, Fig.21 An example (YANG) of a second configuration (configuration of a corresponding relationship) of the intermediate node 200 is shown. This configuration is configured for the intermediate node 200. This example corresponds to the third example described above.
[0287] --The third specific example
[0288] refer to Fig. 22 The third specific example (with Fig.13The same as the third specific example of FIG. 1 ). In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of the correspondence between flow-1 (higher flow) and flow-3 and flow-4 (lower flow). In addition, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of the correspondence between flow-2 (higher flow) and flow-5 (lower flow) and the radio. In other words, Fig. 22 The third specific example and Fig. 20 The only difference between the first specific example and the second specific example is “radio.” “Radio” refers to radio communication performed by the intermediate node 200 which is also an RU.
[0289] In this case, the configuration of the correspondence relationship is, for example, any one of the following first to fifth examples.
[0290] (First Example) Address-1A-Address-3, Address-4
[0291] Address-2A-Address-5, Radio
[0292] (Second Example) Address-1-Address-3A, Address-4A
[0293] Address-2-Address-5A, Radio
[0294] (Third Example) Address-1A - Address-3A, Address-4A
[0295] Address-2A-Address-5A, Radio
[0296] (Fourth Example) Address-1-Address-3, Address-4
[0297] Address-2-Address-5, Radio
[0298] (Fifth Example) Stream-1-Stream-3, Stream-4
[0299] Stream-2-Stream-5, Radio
[0300] For example, Fig.23 An example (YANG) of a second configuration (configuration of a corresponding relationship) of the intermediate node 200 is shown. This configuration is configured for the intermediate node 200. This example corresponds to the third example described above.
[0301] Note that Fig.23 (and Fig.21), the address type differs according to the transport stream configured for each RU. In the case of radio, a radio module such as uplane-conf.yang is specified. The RUs (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C) that are terminals do not include the o-ran-shared-cell-processing-element yang module or the interface connection list, and specify the receiving address and radio for copy-combine-interfaces-pair.
[0302] Note that in addition to determining and configuring the correspondence between stream-5 and stream-6 and the radio, Fig.14 The operation of the fourth specific example is similar to that described above with respect to Fig.23 The operation of the third specific example is the same.
[0303] --Second specific example
[0304] refer to Fig.24 A second specific example (with Fig.12 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of the correspondence between flow-2 (higher flow) and flow-5 (lower flow) and radio. "Radio" refers to radio communication performed by the intermediate node 200 which is also an RU.
[0305] In this case, the configuration of the correspondence relationship is, for example, any one of the following first to fifth examples.
[0306] (First Example) Address-2A-Address-5, Radio
[0307] (Second Example) Address-2-Address-5A, Radio
[0308] (Third Example) Address-2A–Address-5A, Radio
[0309] (Fourth Example) Address-2-Address-5, Radio
[0310] (Fifth Example) Stream-2-Stream-5, Radio
[0311] For example, Fig.25 An example (YANG) of a second configuration (configuration of a corresponding relationship) of the intermediate node 200 is shown. This configuration is configured for the intermediate node 200. This example corresponds to the third example described above.
[0312] Note that Fig.25 In the example of , the address type differs according to the transport stream configured for each RU. In the case of radio, a radio module such as uplane-conf.yang is specified.
[0313] The RU (RU 300) serving as a terminal does not include the o-ran-shared-cell-processing-element yang module or the interface connection list, and specifies a receiving address and a radio for copy-combine-interfaces-pair.
[0314] Through the control of the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 as described above, communication via the C / U plane of the intermediate node 200 can be achieved.
[0315] <2.6. Modifications>
[0316] Next, refer to Figures 26 to 30 , a first modification example, a second modification example, and a third modification example of the first exemplary embodiment will be described.
[0317] (1) First Modification
[0318] In the above example of the first exemplary embodiment, flows between adjacent nodes are configured. For example, a flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is configured as a higher flow, and a flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 is configured as a lower flow.
[0319] In contrast, in the first modification of the first exemplary embodiment, flows between the RAN node 100 and each node (intermediate node 200 or RU 300) are configured. For example, the flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 is configured as a higher flow, and the flow between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300 is configured as a lower flow, rather than the flow between the intermediate node 200 and the RU 300 being configured as a lower flow.
[0320] - Specific examples
[0321] --First specific example
[0322] Fig.26 An example of a flow of a first modification example of the first specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown.
[0323] Two flows (flow-1 and flow-2) are configured as higher flows between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200. Flow-1 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-1A of the intermediate node 200. Flow-2 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-2A of the intermediate node 200. This configuration is similar to the above reference Fig.11 The configurations of the described examples are the same.
[0324] In particular, in the first modification, three flows (flow-3, flow-4, and flow-5) are configured as lower flows between the RAN node 100 and the three RUs 300 (RU 300A, 300B, and 300C). Flow-3 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-3 of the RU 300A. Flow-4 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-4 of the RU 300B. Flow-5 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-5 of the RU 300C.
[0325] --Second specific example
[0326] Fig. 27 An example of a flow of a first modification example of the second specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown.
[0327] A flow (flow-2) is configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200. Flow-2 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-2A of the intermediate node 200. This configuration is similar to the above reference. Fig.12 The configurations of the described examples are the same.
[0328] In particular, in the first modification, one flow (flow-5) is configured between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300. The flow-5 includes the address-2 of the RAN node 100 and the address-5 of the RU 300.
[0329] --The third specific example
[0330] Fig.28 An example of a flow of a first modification example of the third specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown.
[0331] The third specific example of flow and Fig.26 The flow of the first specific example is the same as that of the first specific example. Therefore, repeated description will be omitted.
[0332] --Fourth specific example
[0333] Fig.29 An example of a flow of a first modification example of the fourth specific example of the system 10 according to the first exemplary embodiment is shown.
[0334] Two flows (Flow-1 and Flow-2) are configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200A. This configuration is similar to the above reference. Fig.14 The configuration of the described example is the same
[0335] In particular, in the first modification, one flow (flow-5) is configured between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200B. Flow-5 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-5 of the intermediate node 200B.
[0336] In addition, in particular, in the first modification, three flows (flow-3, flow-4, flow-6) are configured between the RAN node 100 and three RUs 300 (RUs 300A, 300B, and 300C). Flow-3 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-3 of the RU 300A, flow-4 includes address-1 of the RAN node 100 and address-4 of the RU 300B, and flow-6 includes address-2 of the RAN node 100 and address-6 of the RU 300C.
[0337] - Step 540: Control of configuration of RU 300
[0338] As described above, the RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the configuration of the RU 300 based on the first management information and the second management information.
[0339] --stream configuration
[0340] Specifically, in the first modification, the configuration of the RU 300 is the configuration of the flow between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300 .
[0341] For example, the configuration of the flow includes the address of the RU 300 corresponding to the flow (the address of the RU 300 used by the RU 300 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane) and the address of the RAN node 100 corresponding to the flow (the address of the RAN node 100 used by the RAN node 100 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane). In addition, the configuration of the flow also includes a VLAN ID.
[0342] --Specific examples
[0343] Reference again Fig.26 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-3 (configuration of RU 300A) including address-1, address-3 and VLAN ID. Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU 300A. Then, RU 300A configures the configuration for RU 300A. As a result, flow-3 is configured.
[0344] The RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-4 including address-1, address-4 and VLAN ID (configuration of RU300B). Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU300B. Then, RU300B configures the configuration for RU300B. As a result, flow-4 is configured.
[0345] The RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-5 including address-2, address-5 and VLAN ID (configuration of RU300C). Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to RU300C. Then, RU300C configures the configuration for RU300C. As a result, flow-5 is configured.
[0346] Note that in addition to configuring stream-6 instead of stream-5, Fig.29 The specific example operation is the same as above Fig.11 The operation of the specific example is the same.
[0347] Step 550: Control of the first configuration of the intermediate node 200
[0348] As described above, the RAN node 100 (first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the first configuration of the intermediate node 200 based on the second management information.
[0349] --stream configuration
[0350] In particular, in the first modification, the first configuration of the intermediate node 200 is a configuration of a flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 .
[0351] For example, the configuration of the flow includes the address of the RAN node 100 corresponding to the flow (the address of the RAN node 100 used by the RAN node 100 to connect to the intermediate node 200 for communication of the C / U plane) and the address of the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the flow (the address of the intermediate node 200 used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RAN node 100 for communication of the C / U plane). In addition, the configuration of the flow also includes a VLAN ID.
[0352] --Specific examples
[0353] Reference again Fig.26 In this specific example, the RAN node 100 determines the configuration of flow-1 including address-1, address-1A and VLAN ID (configuration of the intermediate node 200) and the configuration of flow-2 including address-2, address-2A and VLAN ID (configuration of the intermediate node 200). Then, the RAN node 100 transmits configuration information indicating the configuration to the intermediate node 200. Then, the intermediate node 200 configures the configuration for the intermediate node 200. As a result, flow-1 and flow-2 are configured.
[0354] Note that Fig.29In the specific example of FIG. 1 , the RAN node 100 also determines the configuration of flow-5 (configuration of the intermediate node 200B) including address-2, address-5 and VLAN ID. Then, the RAN node 100 sends configuration information indicating the configuration to the intermediate node 200B. Then, the intermediate node 200B configures the configuration for the intermediate node 200B. As a result, flow-5 is configured.
[0355] - Step 560: Configuration of the second configuration of the intermediate node 200
[0356] As described above, the RAN node 100 (the first communication processing unit 131 ) controls the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 based on the second management information and the third management information.
[0357] --Configuration of the corresponding relationship of the flow
[0358] In particular, in the first variant, the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes configuration of the correspondence between the higher flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 and the lower flow between the RAN node 100 and the RU 300 (or other intermediate nodes 200 also operating as RU).
[0359] For example, the configuration of the correspondence includes the address of the RAN node or intermediate node 200 corresponding to the higher flow and the address of the intermediate node 200 or RU 300 (or other intermediate node 200 also operating as RU) corresponding to the lower flow. In the case where the configuration of the correspondence includes the address of the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the lower flow, the address of the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the lower flow is the address located on the RU 300 side of the two addresses of the intermediate node 200 in the path of the lower flow (in other words, the address of the intermediate node 200 used by the intermediate node 200 to connect to the RU 300 (or other intermediate node 200 operating as RU)).
[0360] Optionally, the configuration of the corresponding relationship may include identification information of the higher flow and identification information of the lower flow.
[0361] For example, in the case where the RAN node 100 communicates with one or more user equipments via multiple RUs, the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes configuration of a corresponding relationship between each higher flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 and one or more lower flows between corresponding one or more RUs in the multiple RUs and the RAN node 100. The corresponding one or more RUs form a shared cell.
[0362] For example, in the case where the intermediate node 200 is one RU among a plurality of RUs (in other words, a cascaded RU), the second configuration of the intermediate node 200 includes configuration of a correspondence between a higher flow between the RAN node 100 and the intermediate node 200 and a radio communication performed by the intermediate node 200 (RU). The radio communication corresponds to "radio".
[0363] --Specific examples
[0364] A specific example of the configuration of the correspondence relationship in the first modification example is as described above. Figure 20 to Figure 25 The specific examples described as the examples of the first exemplary embodiment are the same, and therefore, duplicate descriptions will be omitted here.
[0365] (2) Second Modification
[0366] In the above example of the first exemplary embodiment, the intermediate node 200 transmits the third management information to the RAN node 100. In contrast, in the second modification of the first exemplary embodiment, the RU 300 (information obtaining unit 347) obtains the third management information, and the RU 300 (first communication processing unit 341) transmits the third management information to the RAN node 100.
[0367] Reference again Fig.11 In this specific example, RU 300A obtains third management information indicating a correspondence relationship between address -3A of the intermediate node 200 and address -3 of RU 300A, and transmits the third management information to RAN node 100. RU 300B obtains third management information indicating a correspondence relationship between address -4A of the intermediate node 200 and address -4 of RU 300B, and transmits the third management information to RAN node 100. RU 300C obtains third management information indicating a correspondence relationship between address -5A of the intermediate node 200 and address -5 of RU 300B, and transmits the third management information to RAN node 100. RAN node 100 receives the third management information from each of RU 300A, 300B, and 300C. In this way, RAN node 100 obtains third management information indicating respective correspondence relationships.
[0368] For example, Fig.30 As shown in , the interface of the RU 300 used by the intermediate node 200 may be configured as ietf-interface, ietf-ip. In this case, the address (address-3A, address-4A, or address-5) of the intermediate node 200 corresponding to the address (address-3, address-4, or address-5) of the RU 300 may be included in the neighbor. The RU 300 (information obtaining unit 347) may obtain information such as the third management information.
[0369] Note that the second modification can be combined with the first modification. In other words, in the second modification, the flow can be configured as in the case of the first modification.
[0370] (3) Third Modification
[0371] In the above example of the first exemplary embodiment, the RAN node 100 operates as a controller for controlling the configuration of the RU 300 (and the intermediate node 200). In contrast, in the third modified example of the first exemplary embodiment, the network management system operates as a controller.
