A lavatory system (150) within an interior cabin (100, 152) of a vehicle, the lavatory system (150) comprising: a housing defining an interior chamber (182); a first lavatory unit (156) located within the interior chamber (182); as well as a second lavatory unit (158), located within said interior chamber (182), wherein the first toilet unit (156) is adjacent to the second toilet unit (158); wherein the housing comprises a first end wall (164) and a second end wall (168) arranged opposite to each other and defining both ends of the first toilet and the second toilet in the direction of the aisle (113), and wherein the second end wall (168) faces an inlet and outlet path (170) of the internal compartment (100, 152); wherein the second end wall (168) includes a first wall segment (172) for defining the first toilet unit (156) and a second wall segment (180) for defining the second toilet unit (158), and the second wall segment (180) is further recessed toward the first end wall (164) than the first wall segment (172); wherein the housing further comprises: an inner side wall (166) connected to the first end wall (164) and the second end wall (168), wherein the inner side wall (166) faces the passageway (113) of the internal compartment (100, 152); and an outer side wall (176) connected to the first end wall (164) and the second end wall (168); and wherein the first lavatory unit (156) includes a first passage (184) connected to a hallway (113) of the interior compartment (100, 152), wherein a first door (186) is configured to open and close the first passage (184), and wherein the second lavatory unit (158) includes a second passage (188) connected to an access path (170) of the interior compartment (100, 152), wherein a second door (190) is configured to open and close the second passage (188).
