Description

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present application relates generally to a power supply and signal transmission device for a vehicle seat rail. BACKGROUND

[0002] Generally, a vehicle seat is installed on a floor by a seat rail or the like so that the position of the vehicle seat is adjustable.

[0003] In this regard, the seat rail can generally include an upper rail installed at a lower portion of a seat cushion of a seat and a lower rail fixedly installed on a floor. The upper rail moves on the lower rail, thereby allowing the position of the seat to be adjusted in a front and rear direction.

[0004] In addition, connectors, wiring, or the like for supplying power and transmitting signals to various electrical devices (e.g., a motor of a power seat, a side airbag, a power buckle, or a buckle pretensioner) are disposed at a lower portion of the seat cushion.

[0005] When the seat is operated to move in the front and rear direction, the wiring or the like that has been covered by the seat cushion can be exposed outward. In addition, in a long rail device in which a front and rear movement stroke (or travel) of the seat is increased so that the seat can be moved to a predetermined position in a cabin, the wiring or the like that has been covered by the seat cushion can be exposed even more.

[0006] Therefore, when the exposed wiring is damaged by an external load (e.g., is stepped on or frictionally contacted with luggage by an occupant), the intended function of the power seat can be lost. In addition, the occupant can be injured by the interference with the wiring, and the availability of the interior space of the cabin or the like can be reduced.

[0007] The foregoing merely is intended to help understand the background of the present application and does not mean that the present application falls within the scope of the related art known to those skilled in the art. SUMMARY

[0008] Therefore, the present application provides a power supply and signal transmission device for a vehicle seat rail in which a contact type power supply unit configured to supply power to an electrical device installed on a seat and a contact type signal transmission unit configured to transmit a seat drive control signal are directly installed on the seat rail so that conventional wiring or connectors can be omitted, thereby preventing problems caused by exposure of the wiring.

[0009] In one aspect of the present application, there is provided a power and signal transmission device for a vehicle seat rail, the rail including a lower rail fixedly installed on a floor and an upper rail installed on a seat cushion frame and fastened to the lower rail so that the upper rail is movable on the lower rail. The power and signal transmission device can include: a contact type power supply unit configured to supply power to an electrical device by continuous contact with a power source; and a contact type signal transmission unit configured to transmit a control signal to the electrical device by continuous contact with a signal source, wherein the contact type power supply unit and the contact type signal transmission unit are directly installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail.

[0010] The contact type power supply unit can include: an insulating cover attached to one of side plates and a bottom plate of the lower rail; positive and negative electrode plates attached to inner surface portions of the insulating cover, spaced apart from each other and electrically connected with the power source; a plurality of brush covers attached to one of side plates and a bottom plate of the upper rail; and positive and negative brushes installed within the brush covers, electrically connected with the electrical device and in continuous contact with the positive and negative electrode plates.

[0011] The insulating cover can include sockets provided on both sides thereof, each of the sockets having an open top structure, wherein the positive and negative electrode plates are connected to the power source fixedly inserted into the sockets, respectively.

[0012] The insulating cover can include a plurality of drain holes and a mounting hole provided in a bottom plate thereof between the sockets.

[0013] In particular, each of the positive and negative electrode plates can be a busbar made of an electrically conductive metal material and having a rectangular plate shape.

[0014] In particular, each of the positive and negative brushes can include a carbon brush made of an electrically conductive carbon material.

[0015] The contact type power supply unit can further include: a support member detachably inserted into the brush cover, wherein the positive and negative brushes are fixedly inserted into lower portions thereof, respectively; and springs connected to rear plates of each of the brush covers and corresponding ones of the support members, respectively.

[0016] The contact type signal transmission unit can include: an insulating cover attached to one of side plates and a bottom plate of the lower rail; a main PCB attached to inner surface portions of the insulating cover and electrically connected with the signal source; a PCB cover attached to one of a top plate, side plates and a bottom plate of the upper rail; and signal transmission PCBs installed within the PCB cover, connected to the electrical device so that a signal can be transmitted therebetween, and in continuous contact with electrically conductive patterns of the main PCB, respectively.

[0017] The power supply and signal transmission device can further include a first bracket installed on an outer surface of a side plate of the lower rail, and a second bracket installed on a seat cushion bracket fastening plate of the upper rail so as to face the first bracket, such that the contact type power supply unit or the contact type signal transmission unit is installed on the first bracket and the second bracket.

[0018] Therefore, when the contact type power supply unit is installed on opposite surfaces of the first bracket and the second bracket, the contact type signal transmission unit can be installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail.

[0019] In contrast, when the contact type signal transmission unit is installed on opposite surfaces of the first bracket and the second bracket, the contact type power supply unit can be installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail.

[0020] In some forms of the present application, when the seat rail is a pair of seat rails consisting of a left seat rail and a right seat rail, the contact type power supply unit configured to supply power to the electrical device by continuous contact with the power source can be installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail of one seat rail of the pair of seat rails, and the contact type signal transmission unit configured to transmit a control signal to the electrical device by continuous contact with the signal source can be installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail of the other seat rail of the pair of seat rails.

[0021] In some forms of the present application, the following effects are provided.

[0022] First, the contact type power supply unit configured to supply power to the electrical device installed on the seat and the contact type signal transmission unit configured to transmit a seat drive control signal are directly installed on the seat rail, so that conventional wiring or connectors can be omitted.

[0023] Second, since the conventional wiring or connectors are omitted, it is possible to prevent an occupant from being injured due to exposure of the wiring and improve the availability of the car interior space. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS

[0033] Hereinafter, some forms of the present application will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

[0034] A seat rail for a vehicle includes a lower rail fixedly installed on a floor and an upper rail installed on a seat cushion frame and fastened to the lower rail so that the upper rail is movable on the lower rail.

[0035] The present application provides a contact type power supply unit configured to supply power to an electrical device by continuous contact with a power source (e.g., a battery) and a contact type signal transmission unit configured to transmit a control signal to the electrical device by continuous contact with a signal source (e.g., a controller) directly installed on opposite surfaces of the lower rail and the upper rail.

[0036] In the drawings, Figure 1 illustrates an insulating cover among components of a contact type power supply unit for a seat rail according to the present application and an electrode plate attached to the insulating cover, and Figure 2 illustrates a structure of a brush cover and a brush inserted into the brush cover.

[0037] As Figure 1As shown, the insulating cover 110 forming the components of the contact-type power supply unit has a plate structure having a length similar to that of the lower rail. The insulating cover 110 is manufactured in a structure in which sockets 112 having an open top structure are provided at both sides of the insulating cover 110, such that positive (+) and negative (-) electrode plates 121 and 122 connected to a power source (e.g., a battery) are fixedly inserted into the sockets 112, respectively.

[0038] Further, a plurality of drain holes 114 through which moisture and impurities are drained and mounting holes 116 for coupling with the lower rail are provided in the bottom plate of the insulating cover 110, more particularly, in a portion of the bottom plate located between the walls of the sockets 112.

[0039] The positive and negative electrode plates 121 and 122 each having a rectangular plate shape are fixedly inserted into the sockets 112 of the insulating cover 110. Each of the positive and negative electrode plates 121 and 122 is made of a copper (Cu) material among conductive metal materials in a busbar structure so as to be connected to a power source (e.g., a battery).

[0040] The insulating cover 110 in which the positive and negative electrode plates 121 and 122 are fixedly inserted can be attached to an inner surface of one plate selected from the top plate, the side plate, and the bottom plate of the lower rail of the seat rail.

[0041] As Figure 2 shown, the contact-type power supply unit includes brush covers 130 attached to one plate selected from the top plate, the side plate, and the bottom plate of the upper rail and positive (+) and negative (-) brushes 131 and 132 in conductive contact with the positive and negative electrode plates 121 and 122 to supply power to the electrical device.

[0042] More particularly, each of the brush covers 130 has a shape of a circular or quadrangular cylinder and is mounted on one plate selected from the top plate, the side plate, and the bottom plate of the upper rail. The positive and negative brushes 131 and 132 are manufactured as carbon brushes made of conductive carbon material and are detachably inserted into the brush covers 130, respectively, such that the brushes 131 and 132 can be introduced into and withdrawn from the brush covers.

[0043] In particular, in order to protect the positive and negative brushes 131 and 132, the positive and negative brushes 131 and 132 are fixedly inserted into separate supports 133, respectively, and the supports 133 are detachably inserted into the brush covers 130.

[0044] More particularly, springs 134 are connected to the rear plates of each of the brush covers 130 and to the corresponding supports 133, such that the springs 134 can be compressed, whereby the bottom ends of the positive and negative brushes 131 and 132 fixed to the supports 133 protrude from the brush covers 130.

[0045] Accordingly, the bottom ends of the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 fixed to the support 133 protrude from the brush cover 130 due to the elastic restoring force of the spring 134 acting on the support 133. Accordingly, the bottom ends of the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132, which have protruded, can be in continuous conductive contact with the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122, respectively.

[0046] Accordingly, since the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 connected to the electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) are in continuous contact with the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122 connected to the power source (e.g., a battery), power can be supplied to the electrical device.

[0047] In the drawings, Figure 3 An insulating cover forming a component of a contact type signal transmission unit for a seat rail according to the present application and a main PCB disposed in the insulating cover are shown, and Figure 4 A PCB cover and a signal transfer PCB disposed in the PCB cover are shown.

[0048] As Figure 3 As shown, the insulating cover 210 forming a component of the contact type signal transmission unit has a structure of a plate having a length similar to that of the lower rail. The insulating cover 210 is manufactured in a structure in which sockets 212 each having an open top structure are disposed at both sides of the insulating cover 210 so that sections of a main printed circuit board (PCB) 220 connected to a signal source (e.g., a controller) are fixedly inserted into the sockets 212.

[0049] Further, a plurality of drain holes 214 through which moisture and impurities are drained and a mounting hole 216 for coupling with the lower rail are disposed in the bottom plate of the insulating cover 210, more specifically, in a portion of the bottom plate located between the walls of the housing 212.

[0050] Each section of the main PCB 220 manufactured in a rectangular plate shape is fixedly inserted into the housing 212 of the insulating cover 210. Each section of the main PCB 220 is manufactured in a structure in which a conductive pattern 224 made of Cu is formed on an insulating resin layer 222 well known in the art. A portion of the conductive pattern 224 is connected to the signal source (e.g., the controller).

[0051] As described above, the insulating cover 210 into which the main PCB 220 is fixedly inserted can be attached to an inner surface of one of the top plate, the side plate, and the bottom plate of the lower rail of the seat rail.

[0052] As Figure 4As shown, the contact-type signal transmission unit includes a PCB cover 230 attached to one of the top plate, side plate and bottom plate of the upper rail and a signal transfer PCB 240 in conductive contact with a segment of the main PCB 220 and configured to transmit a control signal to the electrical device.

[0053] More specifically, each of the PCB covers 230 has a shape of a circular or quadrangular cylinder and is mounted on one of the top plate, side plate and bottom plate of the upper rail. Each of the signal transfer PCBs 240 has a structure in which a contact terminal 242 protrudes from a bottom thereof and maintains continuous contact with the conductive pattern 224 of the main PCB 220. The signal transfer PCBs 240 are fixedly mounted within the PCB covers 230, respectively.

[0054] Accordingly, since the contact terminal 242 of the signal transfer PCB 240 connected to the electrical device (e.g., a motor of an electric seat) is in continuous contact with the conductive pattern 224 of the main PCB 220 connected to a signal source (e.g., a controller), a control signal from the signal source can be transmitted to the electrical device.

[0055] Hereinafter, an example in which the contact-type power supply unit and the contact-type signal transmission unit of some forms of the present application are arranged on a seat rail will be described.

[0056] In the drawings, Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view showing an example in which the contact-type power supply unit according to the present application is mounted on one of a pair of seat rails, and Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view showing an example in which the contact-type signal transmission unit according to the present application is mounted on the other of the pair of seat rails.

[0057] In general, a seat rail 10 for a vehicle includes a lower rail 12 fixedly mounted on a floor and an upper rail 14 mounted on a seat cushion frame and fastened to the lower rail 12 so that the upper rail is movable on the lower rail. Rollers 20 performing a rolling operation on the lower rail 12 can be installed on both sides of the upper rail 14.

[0058] When a pair of seat rails 10 including a left seat rail and a right seat rail is provided, a contact-type power supply unit 100 that supplies power to an electrical device by continuous contact with a power source can be mounted on opposite surfaces of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14 of one seat rail 10 of the pair of seat rails 10, as shown in Figure 5 , and a contact-type signal transmission unit 200 that transmits a control signal to the electrical device by continuous contact with a signal source can be mounted on opposite surfaces of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14 of the other seat rail 10 of the pair of seat rails 10, as shown in Figure 6 .

[0059] Referring to Figure 5 , the contact-type power supply unit 100 can include an insulating cover 110 mounted on the bottom plate of the lower rail 12, a positive electrode plate 121 and a negative electrode plate 122 fixedly inserted into sockets 112 of the insulating cover 110, a brush cover 130 mounted on the side plate and the bottom plate of the upper rail 14, a support 133 inserted into the brush cover 130 and elastically supported by a spring 134, and a positive brush 131 and a negative brush 132 fixedly inserted into the support 133.

[0060] Here, the bottom portions of the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 are in constant conductive contact with the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122, respectively.

[0061] Accordingly, without separate wiring, current from a power source (e.g., a battery) can be easily supplied to an electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 after flowing through the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122.

[0062] Referring to Figure 6 , the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can include an insulating cover 210 mounted on the bottom plate of the lower rail 12, a main PCB 220 fixedly inserted into a housing 212 of the insulating cover 210, a PCB cover 230 mounted on the side plate and the bottom plate of the upper rail 14, and a signal transfer PCB 240 each having contact terminals 242 fixed within a corresponding PCB cover 230.

[0063] Here, the contact terminals 242 of the signal transfer PCB 240 are in constant contact with conductive patterns 224 of the main PCB 220, so that signals can be transmitted therebetween.

[0064] Accordingly, without separate wiring, control signals or the like from a signal source (e.g., a controller) can be easily transmitted to an electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the main PCB 220 and the signal transfer PCB 240.

[0065] Further, when the seat rail 10 is applied as a monorail having a long rail structure, the contact-type power supply unit 100 and the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be installed on a single seat rail.

[0066] In the drawings, Figure 7 and Figure 8 are cross-sectional views showing an example in which the contact-type power supply unit and the contact-type signal transmission unit in some forms of the present application are installed on a single seat rail.

[0067] As Figure 7As shown, the contact-type power supply unit 100 can be installed on the lower portions of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14, and the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be installed on the side portions of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14.

[0068] Alternatively, as Figure 8 shown, the contact-type power supply unit 100 can be installed on the side portions of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14, and the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be installed on the lower portions of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14.

[0069] Referring to Figure 7 and Figure 8 , the contact-type power supply unit 100 can include an insulating cover 110 installed on the bottom plate of the lower rail 12, a positive electrode plate 121 and a negative electrode plate 122 fixedly inserted into sockets 112 of the insulating cover 110, a brush cover 130 installed on the side plate and the bottom plate of the upper rail 14, and a support 133 inserted into the brush cover 130 and elastically supported by a spring 134.

[0070] Here, the bottom portions of the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 maintain continuous conductive contact with the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122, respectively.

[0071] Accordingly, without separate wiring, current from a power source (e.g., a battery) can be easily supplied to an electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 after flowing through the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode plate 122.

[0072] Referring to Figure 7 and Figure 8 , the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can include an insulating cover 210 installed on the bottom plate of the lower rail 12, a main PCB 220 fixedly inserted into a housing 212 of the insulating cover 210, a PCB cover 230 installed on the side plate and the bottom plate of the upper rail 14, and a signal transfer PCB 240 having contact terminals 242 fixed within the PCB cover 230.

[0073] Here, the contact terminals 242 of the signal transfer PCB 240 maintain continuous contact with conductive patterns 224 of the main PCB 220, so that signals can be transmitted therebetween.

[0074] Accordingly, without separate wiring, control signals or the like from a signal source (e.g., a controller) can be easily transmitted to an electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the main PCB 220 and the signal transfer PCB 240.

[0075] Further, the bottom plate of the lower rail 12 can have a lower expansion space 150 protruding in the bottom direction, so that the above-described components of the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be disposed therein.

[0076] Alternatively, the side plate of the lower rail 12 can have a side expansion space 250 protruding in the outward direction, so that the above-described components of the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be disposed therein.

[0077] In particular, a drain hole 151 through which moisture is discharged can be formed in the bottom plate of the lower rail 12, and a drain hole 251 through which moisture is discharged can be formed in the bottom of the side plate of the lower rail 12.

[0078] In some forms of the present application, a bracket can be used to mount the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 on the outer side portion of the seat rail.

[0079] In the drawings, Figure 9 and Figure 10 are cross-sectional views showing examples in which the contact-type power supply unit or the contact-type signal transmission unit in some forms of the present application is mounted on a bracket mounted on a seat rail, respectively.

[0080] As Figure 9 and Figure 10 shown, a first bracket 141 can be mounted on the outer surface of the side plate of the lower rail 12, and a second bracket 142 can be mounted on the seat cushion frame fastening plate 16 of the upper rail 14 so as to face the first bracket 141, so that the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be mounted thereon.

[0081] Accordingly, the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be mounted on opposite surfaces of the first bracket 141 and the second bracket 142.

[0082] Referring to Figure 9 , when the contact-type power supply unit 100 is mounted on opposite surfaces of the first bracket 141 and the second bracket 142, the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 can be mounted on opposite surfaces of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14.

[0083] In contrast, referring to Figure 10 , when the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 is mounted on opposite surfaces of the first bracket 141 and the second bracket 142, the contact-type power supply unit 100 can be mounted on opposite surfaces of the lower rail 12 and the upper rail 14.

[0084] As described above, even if the contact-type power supply unit 100 or the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 is installed on the outer side portion of the seat rail using a bracket, the current from the power source (e.g., a battery) can be easily supplied to the electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the positive brush 131 and the negative brush 132 after flowing through the positive electrode plate 121 and the negative electrode without separate wiring, and the control signal from the signal source (e.g., a controller) or the like can be easily transmitted to the electrical device (e.g., a motor of a power seat) through the main PCB 220 and the signal transmission PCB 240 without separate wiring.

[0085] As described above, the contact-type power supply unit 100 configured to supply power to the electrical device installed on the seat and the contact-type signal transmission unit 200 configured to transmit the seat driving control signal are directly installed on the seat rail 10. Accordingly, the conventional wiring or connector can be omitted, thereby preventing the occupant from being injured due to the wiring exposure and improving the car interior space availability.
