AI Technical Summary
The prior art is difficult to effectively solve the full duplex-based channel status reporting in wireless communication systems, especially in the case of cross-link interference (CLI), where the accuracy and completeness of channel status reporting are limited.
The UE sends a channel status information (CSI) report configuration message to the user equipment (UE) through a base station, including at least one detection reference signal (SRS) resource set and its usage information. Based on this information, the UE determines the number of spatial layers of the CLI and reports the corresponding CSI value.
Improve the accuracy and completeness of channel status reporting, can handle cross-link interference more effectively, and improve the performance of wireless communication systems.

[0002] This patent application claims the benefits of PCT Application No. PCT / CN2020 / 090689, entitled “CHANNELSTATUS REPORT BASED ON SOUNDING REFERENCE SIGNAL RESOURCE USAGE IN FULLDUPLEX,” filed by Huang et al. on May 15, 2020, which is assigned to the assignee of this application. Technical Field
[0003] The following relates generally to wireless communications, and more particularly, to channel state reporting based on sounding reference signal resource usage in full-duplex. Background Art
[0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcasting, etc. These systems may be able to support communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (e.g., time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple access systems include fourth generation (4G) systems (e.g., long term evolution (LTE) systems, improved LTE (LTE-A) systems, or LTE-A Pro systems) and fifth generation (5G) systems (which may be referred to as new radio (NR) systems). These systems may employ techniques such as code division multiple access (CDMA), time division multiple access (TDMA), frequency division multiple access (FDMA), orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA), or discrete Fourier transform spread orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFT-S-OFDM). A wireless multiple access communication system may include one or more base stations or one or more network access nodes, each base station or network access node simultaneously supporting communication for multiple communication devices (which may be further referred to as user equipment (UE)). Summary of the invention
[0005] The described technology relates to improved methods, systems, devices and apparatuses for supporting channel state reporting based on the use of sounding reference signal resources in full duplex. In summary, the described technology provides a base station to send a channel state information (CSI) report configuration message to a UE (e.g., a victim UE that experiences cross link interference (CLI) from an aggressor device). The message may carry or otherwise indicate at least one sounding reference signal (SRS) resource set (e.g., in which the aggressor device sends its SRS) and usage information of the SRS resource set, such as beam management information, codebook and non-codebook, antenna switching information, etc. If the usage information for the SRS resource set is non-codebook use, the base station may indicate the number of spatial layers of the aggressor device. The UE (which may be operating in a full duplex communication mode) determines the number of spatial layers of the CLI based on the indicated SRS resource set and the corresponding usage information. For example, if the use of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, the number of spatial layers may be equal to the indicated number of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) spatial layers. As another example, if the use of the SRS resource set is a codebook, the number of spatial layers may be equal to the number of antenna ports of the SRS resources in the SRS resource set. Thus, the UE may determine and report its CSI value for full-duplex mode communication (e.g., in a CLI feedback message) based on the determined number of spatial layers.
[0006] In some aspects of the described technology, such channel state reports may be employed within an integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) network. The IAB network may include an anchor node having a connection to a core network, one or more IAB nodes forming a link within the IAB network, and one or more UEs associated with at least a portion of the IAB node. Broadly speaking, the IAB network provides a backhaul connection to the core network for the UE via one or more intermediate IAB nodes to the anchor IAB node. In some aspects, each IAB node may include a distributed unit (DU) functional unit that manages various aspects of a wireless backhaul link between the IAB node and a parent IAB node (which may be only an upstream IAB node or may be an anchor IAB node) and between the IAB node and a downstream IAB node (which may be referred to as a child IAB node). In addition, each IAB node may also include a mobile terminal (MT) functional unit that manages various aspects of a wireless access link between the IAB node and one or more associated UEs (which may also be considered as downstream nodes in this context).
[0007] For example, a parent IAB node may send or otherwise transmit a CSI reporting configuration to an IAB node (e.g., a node between a parent IAB node of a downstream IAB node within an IAB network). In general, a CSI reporting configuration may generally carry or otherwise transmit information identifying how an IAB node generates a CSI report based on monitoring a CSI reference signal (CSI-RS) transmission from a parent IAB node. In some aspects, a CSI reporting configuration may also carry or otherwise transmit usage information for a CSI-RS resource set (e.g., information identifying the use of a CSI-RS transmission). Based on the CSI reporting configuration, the IAB node may send or otherwise provide a CSI resource configuration to a downstream node (which may be only a downstream IAB node served by a DU functional unit or may be a UE served by an MT functional unit). The parent IAB node may send a CSI-RS according to a CSI-RS resource set, and the IAB node may monitor the CSI-RS to determine the CSI for the parent IAB node. However, the downstream IAB node may also receive a CSI-RS transmission from the parent IAB node (which may be a CLI from the perspective of the downstream node) and determine (e.g., based on a CSI resource configuration provided to the downstream IAB node) CSI information (e.g., CLI information) for the parent IAB node. Thus, the downstream IAB node may send or otherwise provide a CSI report to the IAB node indicating CSI information for the parent node. That is, the CSI for the parent node may be associated with a CLI based on the number of spatial layers associated with the parent IAB node. Thus, the IAB node may identify or otherwise determine the number of interfering spatial layers associated with the parent IAB node, which may be equal to or less than the number of CSI-RS ports associated with the CSI-RS resource set.
[0008] In addition, such technology can be used in upstream scenarios within the IAB network. For example, the IAB node can send or otherwise provide an SRS measurement configuration to the parent IAB node. In a broad sense, the SRS measurement configuration can provide information to be used by the parent IAB node to measure the CLI on the reference signal resource set (e.g., SRS resource set) to be used by the downstream node to send SRS. The SRS measurement configuration can also identify or otherwise indicate the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream node (e.g., based on the usage information for the reference signal resource). The IAB node can also send or otherwise provide an SRS transmission configuration to the downstream node, which carries or otherwise transmits information identifying the reference signal resource set to be used by the downstream node to send SRS. The SRS transmission configuration can also carry or otherwise transmit information identifying the usage information of the reference signal resource. The downstream IAB node sends the SRS according to the SRS transmission configuration, and the IAB node can use the SRS to determine the channel state of the link between the IAB nodes in the downstream node. However, the parent IAB node can also receive and measure the SRS transmission of the downstream IAB node. Again, this can provide an indication of the CLI to the parent IAB node based on the channel state of the link between the IAB node and its downstream IAB node. Therefore, the parent IAB node can also identify or otherwise determine the amount of interference (e.g., channel state / CLI interference) and make scheduling decisions for the IAB node and / or the downstream IAB node. The parent IAB node can send or otherwise provide uplink resource configuration (e.g., physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and / or physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) resource configuration) based on the CLI determined by the parent IAB node measuring the SRS transmission of the downstream IAB node. Again, this can be based on usage information (e.g., the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream IAB node).

[0069] Cross-link interference (CLI), which may include user equipment (UE) to UE interference, may use a sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission from an interfering device (e.g., an aggressor UE) that is used by a victim UE (e.g., an interfered UE) to perform channel state information (CSI) measurements and reporting. For example, a victim UE may receive an indication of an SRS resource set being used by an interfering device and use that information to measure the SRS transmissions from the interfering device. The results of the measurement are provided to a base station in a feedback message. However, since these UEs are typically associated with different cells, the backhaul data exchange rate may not support or comply with various latency / reliability requirements associated with some wireless communications. In addition, such techniques typically do not support configuring the victim UE with usage information for an SRS resource set for an interfering device, which may limit the integrity / accuracy of the CSI reporting. Therefore, such techniques may be limited to long-term interference management.
[0070] Various aspects of the present disclosure are first described in the context of a wireless communication system. In summary, the described technology provides a base station to send a CSI report configuration message to a UE (e.g., a victim UE that experiences a CLI from an aggressor device). The message may carry or otherwise indicate at least one SRS resource set (e.g., in which the aggressor device sends its SRS) and usage information of the SRS resource set, such as beam management information, codebook and non-codebook, antenna switching information, etc. If the usage information for the SRS resource set is non-codebook usage, the base station may indicate the number of spatial layers of the aggressor device. The UE (which may be operating in a full-duplex communication mode) determines the number of spatial layers of the CLI based on the indicated SRS resource set and the corresponding usage information. For example, if the use of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, the number of spatial layers may be equal to the indicated number of physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) spatial layers. As another example, if the use of the SRS resource set is codebook, the number of spatial layers may be equal to the number of antenna ports of the SRS resources in the SRS resource set. Therefore, the UE may determine and report the CSI value of its full-duplex mode communication (eg, in a CLI feedback message) based on the determined number of spatial layers.
[0071] In some aspects of the described technology, such channel state reports may be employed within an integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) network.
[0072] For example, a parent IAB node may send or otherwise transmit a CSI reporting configuration to an IAB node (e.g., a node between a parent IAB of a downstream IAB node within an IAB network). A parent IAB node may send a CSI-RS according to a CSI-RS resource set, and the IAB node may monitor the CSI-RS to determine the CSI for the parent IAB node.
[0073] In addition, such technology can be used in upstream scenarios within the IAB network. The SRS measurement configuration can also identify or otherwise indicate the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream node (e.g., based on the usage information of the reference signal resource). The parent IAB node can send or otherwise provide uplink resource configuration (e.g., physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) and / or PUSCH resource configuration) based on the CLI determined by the parent IAB node measuring the SRS transmission of the downstream IAB node. Again, this can be based on usage information (e.g., the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream IAB node).
[0074] Aspects of the disclosure are further illustrated by and described with reference to apparatus diagrams, system diagrams, and flow diagrams relating to channel state reporting based on sounding reference signal resource usage in full-duplex.
[0075] Figure 1An example of a wireless communication system 100 that supports channel state reporting based on the use of sounding reference signal resources in full-duplex according to various aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The wireless communication system 100 may include one or more base stations 105, one or more UEs 115, and a core network 130. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may be a long term evolution (LTE) network, an improved LTE (LTE-A) network, an LTE-A Pro network, or a new radio (NR) network. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may support enhanced broadband communications, ultra-reliable (e.g., mission-critical) communications, low-latency communications, or communications with low-cost and low-complexity devices, or any combination thereof.
[0076] Base stations 105 may be dispersed throughout a geographic area to form wireless communication system 100, and may be devices of different forms or capabilities. Base stations 105 and UEs 115 may communicate wirelessly via one or more communication links 125. Each base station 105 may provide a coverage area 110 over which UEs 115 and base stations 105 may establish one or more communication links 125. Coverage area 110 may be an example of a geographic area over which base stations 105 and UEs 115 may support transmission of signals according to one or more radio access technologies.
[0077] UEs 115 may be dispersed throughout the coverage area 110 of the wireless communication system 100, and each UE 115 may be stationary, mobile, or both at different times. UEs 115 may be devices of different forms or with different capabilities. Figure 1 Some example UEs 115 are shown in FIG. 1. The UEs 115 described herein may be able to communicate with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, base stations 105, or network devices (e.g., core network nodes, relay devices, integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) nodes, or other network devices), such as Figure 1 shown.
[0078] The base stations 105 may communicate with the core network 130, or communicate with each other, or perform both operations. For example, the base stations 105 may be connected to the core network 130 via one or more backhaul links 120 (e.g., via S1, N2, N3 or other interfaces). The base stations 105 may communicate with each other directly (e.g., directly between the base stations 105) on the backhaul links 120 (e.g., via X2, Xn or other interfaces), or communicate with each other indirectly (e.g., via the core network 130), or perform both operations. In some examples, the backhaul links 120 may be or include one or more wireless links.
[0079] One or more of the base stations 105 described herein may include or may be referred to by those skilled in the art as a base station transceiver, a radio base station, an access point, a radio transceiver, a Node B, an evolved Node B (eNB), a next generation Node B or a Gigabit Node B (either of which may be referred to as a gNB), a Home Node B, a Home Evolved Node B, or other appropriate terminology.
[0080] UE 115 may include or may be referred to as a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a handheld device, or a subscriber device, or some other appropriate terminology, where a "device" may also be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. UE 115 may also include or may be referred to as a personal electronic device, such as a cellular phone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a tablet computer, a laptop computer, or a personal computer. In some examples, UE 115 may include or be referred to as a wireless local loop (WLL) station, an Internet of Things (IoT) device, an Internet of Everything (IoE) device, or a machine type communication (MTC) device, among other examples, which may be implemented in various items such as appliances, or vehicles, meters, and among other examples.
[0081] The UE 115 described herein is capable of communicating with various types of devices, such as other UEs 115, which may sometimes act as relays, as well as base stations 105 and network devices, including macro eNBs or gNBs, small cell eNBs or gNBs, or relay base stations, among other examples, such as Figure 1 shown.
[0082] The UE 115 and the base station 105 may communicate wirelessly with each other via one or more communication links 125 on one or more carriers. The term "carrier" may refer to a set of radio frequency spectrum resources having a defined physical layer structure for supporting the communication link 125. For example, a carrier for the communication link 125 may include a portion of a radio frequency spectrum band (e.g., a bandwidth portion (BWP)) that operates according to one or more physical layer channels for a given radio access technology (e.g., LTE, LTE-A, LTE-A Pro, NR). Each physical layer channel may carry acquisition signaling (e.g., synchronization signals, system information), control signaling for coordinating operations for the carrier, user data, or other signaling. The wireless communication system 100 may support communication with the UE 115 using carrier aggregation or multi-carrier operation. Depending on the carrier aggregation configuration, the UE 115 may be configured with multiple downlink component carriers and one or more uplink component carriers. Carrier aggregation may be used with both frequency division duplex (FDD) component carriers and time division duplex (TDD) component carriers.
[0083] In some examples (e.g., in a carrier aggregation configuration), a carrier may also have acquisition signaling or control signaling that coordinates operations for other carriers. A carrier may be associated with a frequency channel (e.g., an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System Terrestrial Radio Access (E-UTRA) Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number (EARFCN)) and may be placed according to a channel grid to be discovered by a UE 115. A carrier may operate in a standalone mode, where a UE 115 performs initial acquisition and connection via a carrier, or a carrier may operate in a non-standalone mode, where a different carrier (e.g., of the same or different radio access technology) is used to anchor the connection.
[0084] The communication link 125 shown in the wireless communication system 100 may include an uplink transmission from the UE 115 to the base station 105, or a downlink transmission from the base station 105 to the UE 115. A carrier may carry downlink or uplink communications (e.g., in FDD mode) or may be configured to carry both downlink and uplink communications (e.g., in TDD mode).
[0085] A carrier may be associated with a particular bandwidth of a radio frequency spectrum, and in some examples, the carrier bandwidth may be referred to as the "system bandwidth" of the carrier or wireless communication system 100. For example, the carrier bandwidth may be one of a number of determined bandwidths for a carrier of a particular radio access technology (e.g., 1.4, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 40, or 80 megahertz (MHz)). Devices of the wireless communication system 100 (e.g., base stations 105, UEs 115, or both) may have a hardware configuration that supports communication on a particular carrier bandwidth, or may be configurable to support communication on one of a set of carrier bandwidths. In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may include a base station 105 or UE 115 that supports simultaneous communication via carriers associated with multiple carrier bandwidths. In some examples, each served UE 115 may be configured to operate on a portion (e.g., subband, BWP) or all of the carrier bandwidth.
[0086] The signal waveform transmitted on the carrier may be composed of multiple subcarriers (e.g., using multicarrier modulation (MCM) techniques such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) or discrete Fourier transform spread OFDM (DFT-S-OFDM)). In a system employing MCM techniques, a resource element may include a symbol period (e.g., the duration of a modulation symbol) and a subcarrier, wherein the symbol period and the subcarrier spacing are inversely related. The number of bits carried by each resource element may depend on the modulation scheme (e.g., the order of the modulation scheme, the coding rate of the modulation scheme, or both). Therefore, the more resource elements received by the UE 115 and the higher the order of the modulation scheme, the higher the data rate for the UE 115 can be. Wireless communication resources may refer to a combination of radio frequency spectrum resources, time resources, and spatial resources (e.g., spatial layers or beams), and the use of multiple spatial layers may further increase the data rate or data integrity for communication with the UE 115.
[0087] One or more numerologies for a carrier may be supported, where the numerologies may include subcarrier spacing (Δf) and cyclic prefixes. A carrier may be divided into one or more BWPs with the same or different numerologies. In some examples, a UE 115 may be configured with multiple BWPs. In some examples, a single BWP for a carrier may be active at a given time, and communications for a UE 115 may be limited to the one or more active BWPs.
[0088] The basic time unit (which may be referred to as T s =1 / (Δf max ·N f ) seconds sampling period, where Δf max It can represent the maximum supported subcarrier spacing, and N f The time intervals for the base station 105 or the UE 115 may be expressed as multiples of a maximum supported discrete Fourier transform (DFT) size). The time intervals of the communication resources may be organized according to radio frames each having a specified duration (e.g., 10 milliseconds (ms)). Each radio frame may be identified by a system frame number (SFN) (e.g., ranging from 0 to 1023).
[0089] Each frame may include a plurality of consecutively numbered subframes or time slots, and each subframe or time slot may have the same duration. In some examples, a frame may be divided (e.g., in the time domain) into subframes, and each subframe may be further divided into a number of time slots. Alternatively, each frame may include a variable number of time slots, and the number of time slots may depend on the subcarrier spacing. Each time slot may include a number of symbol periods (e.g., depending on the length of a cyclic prefix added in front of each symbol period). In some wireless communication systems 100, a time slot may be further divided into a plurality of micro-time slots containing one or more symbols. Excluding the cyclic prefix, each symbol period may contain one or more (e.g., N f The duration of a symbol period may depend on the subcarrier spacing or the operating frequency band.
[0090] A subframe, a time slot, a mini-time slot, or a symbol may be the smallest scheduling unit (e.g., in the time domain) of the wireless communication system 100 and may be referred to as a transmission time interval (TTI). In some examples, the TTI duration (e.g., the number of symbol periods in a TTI) may be variable. Additionally or alternatively, the smallest scheduling unit of the wireless communication system 100 may be dynamically selected (e.g., in the form of bursts of shortened TTIs (sTTIs)).
[0091] Physical channels may be multiplexed on a carrier according to various techniques. For example, one or more of a time division multiplexing (TDM) technique, a frequency division multiplexing (FDM) technique, or a hybrid TDM-FDM technique may be used to multiplex physical control channels and physical data channels on a downlink carrier. A control region (e.g., a control resource set (CORESET)) for a physical control channel may be defined by the number of symbol periods and may extend across the system bandwidth of a carrier or a subset of the system bandwidth. One or more control regions (e.g., CORESETs) may be configured for a group of UEs 115. For example, one or more of the UEs 115 may monitor or search a control region for control information according to one or more search space sets, and each search space set may include one or more control channel candidates at one or more aggregation levels arranged in a cascaded manner. The aggregation level for a control channel candidate may refer to the number of control channel resources (e.g., control channel elements (CCEs)) associated with the coded information for a control information format having a given payload size. The search space sets may include a common search space set configured for transmitting control information to multiple UEs 115 and a UE-specific search space set for transmitting control information to a specific UE 115 .
[0092] Each base station 105 can provide communication coverage via one or more cells (e.g., macro cells, small cells, hot spots or other types of cells, or any combination thereof). The term "cell" can refer to a logical communication entity used to communicate with the base station 105 (e.g., on a carrier), and can be associated with an identifier (e.g., a physical cell identifier (PCID), a virtual cell identifier (VCID) or other identifier) for distinguishing adjacent cells. In some examples, a cell can also refer to a geographic coverage area 110 or a portion of a geographic coverage area 110 (e.g., a sector) on which a logical communication entity operates. Depending on various factors (such as the capabilities of the base station 105), the range of such a cell can range from a smaller area (e.g., a structure, a subset of a structure) to a larger area. For example, a cell can be or include a building, a subset of a building, or an external space between or overlapping geographic coverage areas 110, as well as other examples.
[0093] A macro cell typically covers a relatively large geographic area (e.g., a radius of several kilometers) and may allow unrestricted access by a UE 115 with a service subscription to a network provider that supports the macro cell. A small cell may be associated with a lower power base station 105 than a macro cell, and the small cell may operate in the same or different (e.g., licensed, unlicensed) frequency band as the macro cell. A small cell may provide unrestricted access to a UE 115 with a service subscription to a network provider, or may provide restricted access to a UE 115 associated with a small cell (e.g., a UE 115 in a closed subscriber group (CSG), a UE 115 associated with a user in a residence or office). A base station 105 may support one or more cells, and may also support the use of one or more component carriers to communicate on one or more cells.
[0094] In some examples, a carrier may support multiple cells, and different cells may be configured according to different protocol types (e.g., MTC, narrowband IoT (NB-IoT), enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB)) that may provide access to different types of devices.
[0095] In some examples, the base stations 105 may be mobile and, therefore, provide communication coverage for mobile geographic coverage areas 110. In some examples, different geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas 110 may be supported by the same base station 105. In other examples, overlapping geographic coverage areas 110 associated with different technologies may be supported by different base stations 105. The wireless communication system 100 may include, for example, a heterogeneous network in which different types of base stations 105 provide coverage for respective geographic coverage areas 110 using the same or different radio access technologies.
[0096] The wireless communication system 100 may support synchronous or asynchronous operation. For synchronous operation, the base stations 105 may have similar frame timing, and transmissions from different base stations 105 may be approximately aligned in time. For asynchronous operation, the base stations 105 may have different frame timing, and in some examples, transmissions from different base stations 105 may not be aligned in time. The techniques described herein may be used for either synchronous or asynchronous operation.
[0097] Some UEs 115 (e.g., MTC or IoT devices) may be low-cost or low-complexity devices and may provide automated communication between machines (e.g., via machine-to-machine (M2M) communication). M2M communication or MTC may refer to data communication technology that allows devices to communicate with each other or base station 105 without human intervention. In some examples, M2M communication or MTC may include communications from devices that integrate sensors or meters to measure or capture information and relay such information to a central server or application that utilizes the information or presents the information to a human interacting with the application. Some UEs 115 may be designed to collect information or implement automated behavior of machines or other devices. Examples of applications for MTC devices include smart metering, inventory monitoring, water level monitoring, equipment monitoring, healthcare monitoring, wildlife monitoring, climate and geological event monitoring, fleet management and tracking, remote security sensing, physical access control, and transaction-based business billing.
[0098] Some UEs 115 may be configured to employ an operating mode that reduces power consumption, such as half-duplex communication (e.g., a mode that supports one-way communication via transmission or reception rather than transmission and reception simultaneously). In some examples, half-duplex communication may be performed at a reduced peak rate. Other power saving techniques for UE 115 include entering a power-saving deep sleep mode when not participating in active communications, when operating on a limited bandwidth (e.g., according to narrowband communications), or a combination of these techniques. For example, some UEs 115 may be configured to operate using a narrowband protocol type that is associated with a defined portion or range (e.g., a set of subcarriers or resource blocks (RBs)) within a carrier, within a guard band of a carrier, or outside a carrier.
[0099] The wireless communication system 100 can be configured to support ultra-reliable communication or low-latency communication, or various combinations thereof. For example, the wireless communication system 100 can be configured to support ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) or mission-critical communication. UE115 can be designed to support ultra-reliable, low-latency or critical functions (e.g., mission-critical functions). Ultra-reliable communication can include private communication or group communication, and can be supported by one or more mission-critical services (such as mission-critical push-to-talk (MCPTT), mission-critical video (MCVideo), or mission-critical data (MCData). Support for mission-critical functions can include prioritization of services, and mission-critical services can be used for public safety or general commercial applications. The terms ultra-reliable, low-latency, mission-critical, and ultra-reliable low-latency can be used interchangeably in this article.
[0100] In some examples, UE 115 may also be able to communicate directly with other UE 115 on a device-to-device (D2D) communication link 135 (e.g., using a peer-to-peer (P2P) or D2D protocol). One or more UEs 115 utilizing D2D communication may be within a geographic coverage area 110 of a base station 105. Other UEs 115 in such a group may be outside the geographic coverage area 110 of the base station 105 or otherwise unable to receive transmissions from the base station 105. In some examples, groups of UEs 115 communicating via D2D communication may utilize a one-to-many (1:M) system, wherein each UE 115 transmits to each other UE 115 in the group. In some examples, the base station 105 facilitates the scheduling of resources for D2D communication. In other cases, D2D communication is performed between UEs 115 without involving the base station 105.
[0101] In some systems, the D2D communication link 135 can be an example of a communication channel (such as a sidelink communication channel) between vehicles (e.g., UE 115). In some examples, vehicles can communicate using vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication, or some combination of these items. Vehicles can use signals to send information related to traffic conditions, signal scheduling, weather, safety, emergency situations, or any other information related to the V2X system. In some examples, vehicles in a V2X system can communicate with roadside infrastructure (such as roadside units), or communicate with a network via one or more network nodes (e.g., base station 105) using vehicle-to-network (V2N) communication, or both.
[0102] The core network 130 may provide user authentication, access authorization, tracking, Internet Protocol (IP) connection, and other access, routing or mobility functions. The core network 130 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) or a 5G core (5GC), which may include at least one control plane entity (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME), an access and mobility management function unit (AMF)) for managing access and mobility and at least one user plane entity (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW), a packet data network (PDN) gateway (P-GW), or a user plane function unit (UPF)) for routing packets to an external network or interconnecting to an external network. The control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management for UE 115 served by a base station 105 associated with the core network 130. User IP packets may be transmitted through a user plane entity, which may provide IP address allocation and other functions. The user plane entity may be connected to a network operator IP service 150. Operator IP services 150 may include access to the Internet, an intranet, an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), or packet-switched streaming services.
[0103] Some of the network devices (e.g., base stations 105) may include subcomponents such as access network entities 140, which may be examples of access node controllers (ANCs). Each access network entity 140 may communicate with the UE 115 through one or more other access network transport entities 145 (which may be referred to as radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmit / receive points (TRPs)). Each access network transport entity 145 may include one or more antenna panels. In some configurations, the various functions of each access network entity 140 or base station 105 may be distributed across various network devices (e.g., radio heads and ANCs) or merged into a single network device (e.g., base station 105).
[0104] The wireless communication system 100 may operate using one or more frequency bands, typically in the range of 300 megahertz (MHz) to 300 gigahertz (GHz). Typically, the region from 300 MHz to 3 GHz is referred to as the ultra-high frequency (UHF) region or decimeter band because the wavelengths range from approximately one decimeter to one meter in length. UHF waves may be blocked or redirected by buildings and environmental features, but the waves may be sufficient to penetrate structures for macro cells to provide service to UEs 115 located indoors. Transmissions on UHF waves may be associated with smaller antennas and shorter distances (e.g., less than 100 kilometers) compared to transmissions using smaller frequencies and longer waves in the high frequency (HF) or very high frequency (VHF) portions of the spectrum below 300 MHz.
[0105] The wireless communication system 100 may also operate in a super high frequency (SHF) region using a frequency band from 3 GHz to 30 GHz (also referred to as a centimeter band) or in an extremely high frequency (EHF) region of the spectrum (e.g., from 30 GHz to 300 GHz) (also referred to as a millimeter band). In some examples, the wireless communication system 100 may support millimeter wave (mmW) communications between UE 115 and base station 105, and the EHF antennas of the corresponding devices may be even smaller and more closely spaced than UHF antennas. In some examples, this may facilitate the use of antenna arrays within the device. However, compared to SHF or UHF transmissions, the propagation of EHF transmissions may suffer from even greater atmospheric attenuation and shorter distances. The technology disclosed herein may be employed across transmissions using one or more different frequency regions, and the designated use of frequency bands across these frequency regions may differ according to countries or regulatory agencies.
[0106] The wireless communication system 100 can utilize both licensed and unlicensed radio frequency spectrum bands. For example, the wireless communication system 100 can employ license assisted access (LAA), LTE unlicensed (LTE-U) radio access technology, or NR technology in an unlicensed band (such as the 5 GHz industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) band). When operating in an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band, devices (such as base stations 105 and UEs 115) can employ carrier sensing for conflict detection and avoidance. In some examples, operations in unlicensed bands can be based on a carrier aggregation configuration in combination with component carriers operating in a licensed band (e.g., LAA). Operations in the unlicensed spectrum can include downlink transmissions, uplink transmissions, P2P transmissions, or D2D transmissions, as well as other examples.
[0107] The base station 105 or UE 115 may be equipped with multiple antennas, which may be used to employ technologies such as transmit diversity, receive diversity, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communications, or beamforming. The antennas of the base station 105 or UE 115 may be located within one or more antenna arrays or antenna panels (which may support MIMO operations or transmit or receive beamforming). For example, one or more base station antennas or antenna arrays may be co-located at an antenna assembly, such as an antenna tower. In some examples, the antennas or antenna arrays associated with the base station 105 may be located at different geographical locations. The base station 105 may have an antenna array having antenna ports of a number of rows and columns that the base station 105 may use to support beamforming for communications with the UE 115. Similarly, the UE 115 may have one or more antenna arrays that may support various MIMO or beamforming operations. Additionally or alternatively, the antenna panel may support radio frequency beamforming for signals sent via the antenna ports.
[0108] The base station 105 or UE 115 can use MIMO communication to exploit multipath signal propagation and improve spectral efficiency by sending or receiving multiple signals via different spatial layers. Such a technology may be referred to as spatial multiplexing. For example, a transmitting device may send multiple signals via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Similarly, a receiving device may receive multiple signals via different antennas or different combinations of antennas. Each of the multiple signals may be referred to as a separate spatial stream and may carry bits associated with the same data stream (e.g., the same codeword) or different data streams (e.g., different codewords). Different spatial layers may be associated with different antenna ports for channel measurement and reporting. MIMO technology includes single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO) (where multiple spatial layers are sent to the same receiving device) and multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) (where multiple spatial layers are sent to multiple devices).
[0109] Beamforming (which may also be referred to as spatial filtering, directional transmission, or directional reception) is a signal processing technique that can be used at a transmitting device or a receiving device (e.g., a base station 105, a UE 115) to form or direct an antenna beam (e.g., a transmit beam, a receive beam) along a spatial path between the transmitting device and the receiving device. Beamforming can be achieved by combining signals transmitted via antenna elements of an antenna array so that some signals propagating in a specific orientation relative to the antenna array experience constructive interference, while other signals experience destructive interference. Adjustments to signals transmitted via antenna elements may include the transmitting device or the receiving device applying an amplitude offset, a phase offset, or both to signals carried via antenna elements associated with the device. Adjustments associated with each of the antenna elements may be defined by a set of beamforming weights associated with a specific orientation (e.g., relative to the antenna array of the transmitting device or the receiving device, or relative to some other orientation).
[0110] As part of the beamforming operation, the base station 105 or the UE 115 may use beam scanning techniques. For example, the base station 105 may use multiple antennas or antenna arrays (e.g., antenna panels) to perform beamforming operations for directional communications with the UE 115. The base station 105 may send some signals (e.g., synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) multiple times in different directions. For example, the base station 105 may send signals based on different sets of beamforming weights associated with different transmission directions. Transmissions in different beam directions may be used (e.g., by a transmitting device (such as the base station 105) or by a receiving device (such as the UE 115)) to identify a beam direction for subsequent transmission or reception by the base station 105.
[0111] Base station 105 may transmit some signals (e.g., data signals associated with a particular receiving device (e.g., UE 115)) in a single beam direction (e.g., a direction associated with the receiving device). In some examples, the beam direction associated with transmission along the single beam direction may be determined based on signals transmitted in one or more beam directions. For example, UE 115 may receive one or more of the signals transmitted by base station 105 in different directions and may report to base station 105 an indication of the signal received by UE 115 having the highest signal quality or otherwise acceptable signal quality.
[0112] In some examples, transmissions by a device (e.g., by a base station 105 or a UE 115) may be performed using multiple beam directions, and the device may generate a combined beam for transmission (e.g., from the base station 105 to the UE 115) using a combination of digital precoding or radio frequency beamforming. The UE 115 may report feedback indicating precoding weights for one or more beam directions, and the feedback may correspond to a configured number of beams across the system bandwidth or one or more subbands. The base station 105 may send reference signals (e.g., cell-specific reference signals (CRS), channel state information reference signals (CSI-RS)) that may be precoded or not precoded. The UE 115 may provide feedback for beam selection, which may be a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) or codebook-based feedback (e.g., a multi-panel type of codebook, a linear combination type of codebook, a port selection type of codebook). Although these techniques are described with reference to signals sent by base station 105 in one or more directions, UE 115 may employ similar techniques to send signals multiple times in different directions (e.g., to identify a beam direction for subsequent transmission or reception by UE 115) or to send signals in a single direction (e.g., to send data to a receiving device).
[0113] When receiving various signals (such as synchronization signals, reference signals, beam selection signals, or other control signals) from the base station 105, the receiving device (e.g., UE 115) can try multiple reception configurations (e.g., directional listening). For example, the receiving device can try multiple reception directions by receiving via different antenna subarrays, by processing the received signals according to different antenna subarrays, by receiving according to different reception beamforming weight sets applied to the signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array (e.g., different directional listening weight sets), or by processing the received signals according to different reception beamforming weight sets applied to the signals received at multiple antenna elements of the antenna array (any of the above operations may be referred to as "listening" according to different reception configurations or reception directions). In some examples, the receiving device can use a single reception configuration to receive along a single beam direction (e.g., when receiving a data signal). A single receive configuration may be aligned on a beam direction determined based on listening according to different receive configuration directions (e.g., a beam direction determined to have the highest signal strength, the highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), or otherwise acceptable signal quality based on listening according to multiple beam directions).
[0114] The wireless communication system 100 may be a packet-based network operated according to a layered protocol stack. In the user plane, the communication at the bearer or packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer may be IP-based. The radio link control (RLC) layer may perform packet segmentation and reassembly to transmit on a logical channel. The medium access control (MAC) layer may perform priority handling and multiplexing of logical channels to transport channels. The MAC layer may also use error detection techniques, error correction techniques, or both to support retransmission at the MAC layer to improve link efficiency. In the control plane, the radio resource control (RRC) protocol layer may provide the establishment, configuration, and maintenance of an RRC connection (which supports radio bearers for user plane data) between a UE 115 and a base station 105 or a core network 130. At the physical layer, transport channels may be mapped to physical channels.
[0115] UE 115 and base station 105 can support retransmission of data to increase the possibility that the data is successfully received. Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback is a technology for increasing the possibility that data is correctly received on communication link 125. HARQ can include a combination of error detection (e.g., using cyclic redundancy check (CRC)), forward error correction (FEC) and retransmission (e.g., automatic repeat request (ARQ)). HARQ can improve the throughput at the MAC layer under poor radio conditions (e.g., low signal and noise conditions). In some examples, the device can support same-slot HARQ feedback, wherein the device can provide HARQ feedback for data received in previous symbols in the slot in a specific slot. In other cases, the device can provide HARQ feedback in subsequent slots or according to some other time interval.
[0116] The UE 115 may receive a configuration for sending a CLI feedback message, the configuration indicating at least one reference signal resource set to be monitored by the UE 115 for CLI from the interfering device, the configuration further indicating usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set. The UE 115 may determine a number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the interfering device based at least in part on the usage information. The UE 115 may determine channel state information associated with the CLI based at least in part on the number of spatial layers. The UE 115 may send a CLI feedback message indicating the channel state information.
[0117] The base station 105 may determine at least one reference signal resource set and usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set for CLI measurement by the UE 115 of the CLI from the interfering device. The base station 105 may send a configuration for sending a CLI feedback message to the UE 115, the configuration indicating at least one reference signal resource set to be monitored by the UE 115 for the CLI from the interfering device, the configuration also indicating usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set. The base station 105 may receive a CLI feedback message from the UE 115 indicating channel state information associated with the CLI, the channel state information being based on the usage information.
[0118] An IAB node (e.g., a base station 105 and / or a UE 115 within an IAB network) may receive, from a parent IAB node, a CSI report configuration for generating a CSI report associated with at least one CSI-RS resource set monitored by the IAB node, the configuration also indicating usage information for the at least one CSI-RS resource set. The IAB node may send a CSI resource configuration to a downstream node, the CSI resource configuration indicating a number of spatial layers of a CLI associated with the parent IAB node based at least in part on the usage information. The IAB node may receive a CSI report indicating channel state information from a downstream node, the CSI associated with the CLI based at least in part on the number of spatial layers.
[0119] The IAB node (e.g., a base station 105 and / or a UE 115 within the IAB network) may send, to a parent IAB node, an SRS measurement configuration for the parent IAB node to measure the CLI on at least one reference signal resource set to be used by the downstream node when transmitting the SRS, the configuration also indicating a number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream node based at least in part on usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set. The IAB node may send, to the downstream node, an SRS transmission configuration indicating at least one reference signal resource set to be used when transmitting the SRS, the configuration indicating usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set. The IAB node may receive an uplink resource configuration from the parent IAB node, the uplink resource configuration being based at least in part on measuring the CLI determined from the SRS and at least in part on the number of spatial layers. Figure 2An example of a wireless communication system 200 that supports channel state reporting based on the use of sounding reference signal resources in full duplex according to various aspects of the present disclosure is shown. In some examples, the wireless communication system 200 can implement various aspects of the wireless communication system 100. The wireless communication system 200 may include a base station 205, a UE 210, and a UE 215, which may be examples of corresponding devices described herein. In some aspects, the UE 210 may be a victim UE (e.g., a downlink UE), and the UE 215 may be an aggressor UE (e.g., an uplink UE). Although the UE 215 is generally described as an aggressor UE, an interfering device, etc., it should be understood that interference may come from different devices.
[0120] In some aspects, the wireless communication system 200 may support or otherwise be configured for full-duplex communication. For example, a 5G wireless network (such as the wireless communication system 200) may provide ultra-high data rate communications that support a wide range of application scenarios. Wireless full-duplex (FD) communication is an emerging technology and may double the link capacity. This may include enabling a radio network node to simultaneously transmit and receive at the same time-frequency resource (or only the same time resource, for example, in an FDM manner). A full-duplex network node (such as a base station 205 in a cellular network) may use the same radio resources to communicate simultaneously with two half-duplex terminals (e.g., UE 210 and UE 215) in an uplink (UL) and a downlink (DL). Another typical wireless full-duplex application scenario is in a wireless backhaul network (such as an integrated access and backhaul network (IAB) network). In an IAB network, a relay node (e.g., an IAB node) can communicate with an anchor node (e.g., upstream using a backhaul link) and a mobile terminal (e.g., downstream using an access link) simultaneously in a single-hop scenario, or communicate with two other relay nodes (e.g., upstream and downstream using an access link in a multi-hop scenario) simultaneously. Full-duplex can significantly improve system throughput for various applications in wireless communication networks by doubling the capacity of each single link, and can also reduce transmission delays for time-critical services.
[0121] Wireless communication system 200 shows an example of a cellular system using full-duplex communication. A full-duplex network node (such as a base station 205 in a cellular network) can communicate with two UEs (e.g., UE 210 and UE 215) simultaneously in the uplink and downlink using the same radio resources. With full-duplex technology, the downlink of one UE (e.g., UE 210) and the uplink of another UE (e.g., UE 215) can coexist in the same radio spectrum at the same time in a cell. In the uplink, UE 215 sends a signal to base station 205 via link 225. In the downlink, UE 210 receives a signal from base station 205 via link 220. In full-duplex, a UE (e.g., UE 215) sending an uplink signal generates inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) to a UE (e.g., UE 210) receiving a downlink signal.
[0122] In the example of an IAB wireless network, one IAB node may be considered a relay node (e.g., in this example, UE 215) through which data may be sent from an IAB donor (e.g., base station 205 or some other anchor node) to UE 210 (in this IAB example) or from UE 210 to the IAB donor. In full-duplex technology, an IAB node (e.g., in this example, UE 215) may receive data from an IAB donor (e.g., in this example, base station 205) and send the data to UE 210, or an IAB node (e.g., in this example, UE 215) may receive data from a UE 210 and send the data to the IAB donor using the same time-frequency radio resources. Similar to the Uu interface, at the IAB node (e.g., in this example, UE 210), interference from the backhaul link to the access link (e.g., in this example, from the IAB donor to the UE 210) or interference from the access link to the backhaul link (from the UE 210 to the IAB donor) may cause data reception performance degradation. It should be noted that the UE 210 may be another IAB node. In such a case, the link between the IAB donor (e.g., base station 205) and the IAB node (e.g., UE 215) is referred to as a parent link, and the link between the IAB node (e.g., UE 215) and another IAB node (e.g., UE 210) is referred to as a child link. Therefore, the parent link and the child link may interfere with each other.
[0123] In a cell where full-duplex communication is activated, a downlink UE (e.g., UE 210) may be subject to co-channel interference (e.g., CLI 230) from a paired uplink UE (e.g., UE 215). The interference strength depends on the distance between the two UEs and also on the uplink transmit beamforming implemented by the uplink UE (e.g., UE 215). If the downlink UE has more than one receive antenna and performs coherent antenna reception, the interference strength also depends on the spatial direction of the interfering signal (e.g., CLI 230).
[0124] CLI processing provides a method in which a UE in one cell (e.g., UE 210) can measure interference from UEs in other cells (e.g., UE 215). Due to the good multiplexing capability of SRS transmissions, the network (e.g., via base station 205) configures a set of SRS resources to both the victim UE (e.g., UE 210) and the aggressor UE (e.g., UE 215). In these SRS resources, the victim UE can be configured to measure the strength of the SRS transmission sent by the aggressor UE in the neighboring cell. Since the two UEs are located in two different cells, considering the backhaul data rate and latency constraints, the victim UE may only report layer 3 measurement results, i.e., values of SRS reference signal received power (RSRP), CLI reference signal strength indicator (RSSI), etc., which are generated based on the results of long-term measurements (e.g., measurements spanning a duration of tens or even hundreds of time slots).
[0125] In order to implement such inter-cell SRS measurement, information about SRS configuration needs to be transmitted via the backhaul between the base stations of the victim cell and the aggressor cell. Due to the limitation on the backhaul transmission delay, such information transmission may only adopt static or semi-static mode, and accordingly, SRS measurement may only be configured in static or semi-static mode. Therefore, such CLI technology may only be used for long-term interference management, for example, allocating non-overlapping radio resources to the aggressor UE and the victim UE, which is limited by the system capacity compared with radio resource reuse.
[0126] According to such technology, the base station 205 will send an SRS configuration message for SRS transmission to the UE 215, which includes the configuration of multiple SRS resource sets. Each SRS resource set includes multiple SRS resources, and all SRS resources have the same parameter "usage" (e.g., usage information). Examples of usage information include, but are not limited to, beam management (e.g., beamManagement), codebook, non-codebook (e.g., nonCodebook), antenna switching (e.g., antennaSwitching). Beam management generally indicates that the resource set is used for beam management of uplink beamforming (e.g., UE 215 sends SRS in multiple SRS resources in the SRS resource set, and each SRS resource has a corresponding uplink beam direction). The codebook generally indicates that the SRS resource set is used for uplink channel estimation of precoded SRS. The UE 215 can be configured with multiple SRS resources in the SRS resource set, each of which has 1, 2 or 4 antenna ports. UE 215 may send an SRS transmission, precoding the SRS transmission at an antenna port using certain precoding weights at one SRS resource. Non-codebook generally indicates that the SRS resource set is used for uplink channel estimation of non-precoded SRS. UE 215 may be configured with multiple (e.g., the same number as antenna ports) SRS resources in the SRS resource set, at each SRS resource, the UE uses one antenna port for transmission. Antenna switching generally indicates that when there are fewer transmit antennas than receive antennas, the resource set is used for uplink channel estimation (e.g., UE 215 sends SRS from corresponding transmit antenna ports in sequence at different locations of the configured radio resources).
[0127] However, this approach may lead to various problems regarding CLI processing. As described above, the base station 205 may instruct a downlink UE (e.g., IE 210 or victim UE) operating in full-duplex mode to measure inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) based on SRS reception, and then the downlink UE adds an SRS resource indicator (SRI) in its CSI report 240 to indicate the selection of a matching uplink UE (e.g., UE 215 or aggressor UE) and its beam. By doing so, the base station 205 can schedule appropriate downlink UEs (e.g., UE 210 or victim UE) and uplink UEs (e.g., UE 215 or aggressor UE), and determine their transmission formats (transmission beams, MIMO schemes, MCS values, etc.). However, such techniques cannot distinguish between situations where the SRS resource sets of the uplink UE have different uses (e.g., different usage information). That is, such techniques may configure UE210 with the SRS resource set of UE 215, but do not indicate the usage information for such SRS resource set. Different uses correspond to different beamforming operations for the PUSCH of the uplink UE (e.g., UE 215) associated with the SRS resource set. If the uplink UE is requested to send periodic, semi-persistent (e.g., through RRC signaling, MAC CE), or non-periodic SRS (e.g., through DCI formats 0-1, 0-2, 1-1, 1-2), and if the usage information of the triggered SRS resource set is non-codebook, the uplink UE sends SRS at some or all SRS resources in the SRS resource set. Then, the following non-codebook-based PUSCH uses the beam direction of min(L_max, N_SRS) SRS resources from the SRS resource set, where L_max is the maximum number of spatial layers for PUSCH, and N_SRS is the number of SRS resources in the SRS resource set. If the usage of the triggered SRS resource set is codebook, the uplink UE sends its SRS at some or all SRS resources in the SRS resource set. Then, the following codebook-based PUSCH uses the beam direction of one SRS resource from the SRS resource set.
[0128] In an example of another problem surrounding such techniques, a downlink UE (e.g., UE 210) operating in full-duplex mode cannot know how many SRS resources the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) comes from. Without this information, the downlink UE cannot select the correct matching uplink UE and cannot determine accurate CSI based on the inter-UE interference assumption. For example, if a downlink UE reports CSI with too many associated SRS resources, the base station 205 may schedule an excessively small MCS value for the PDSCH based on the CSI report, and therefore, the downlink spectrum efficiency may be reduced. As another example, if a downlink UE reports CSI with too few associated SRS resources, the base station 205 may schedule an excessively large MCS value for the PDSCH based on the CSI report, and therefore, the actual inter-UE interference at the PDSCH may cause PDSCH decoding errors.
[0129] Thus, aspects of the described techniques may include the base station 205 indicating to the UE 210 usage information for an SRS resource set for the UE 215 to support CLI processing. For example, the base station 205 may send or otherwise communicate to the UE 210 a configuration 235 for sending a CLI feedback message. The configuration 235 may identify or otherwise indicate a reference signal resource set (e.g., an SRS resource set) for the UE 210 to monitor for CLI 230 from an interfering device (e.g., in this example, the UE 215). The configuration 235 may also identify or otherwise indicate usage information for the reference signal resource set (e.g., usage information for the SRS resource set configured for the UE 215).
[0130] Therefore, the base station 205 sends a CSI report configuration message (e.g., configuration 235) to the UE 210 (e.g., in this example, a victim UE), which indicates at least one SRS resource set in which the UE 215 (e.g., in this example, an aggressor UE or an interfering device) sends SRS and the use of the SRS resource set. If the indicated use of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, the base station 205 may also indicate the number of PUSCH spatial layers of the UE 215. The message (e.g., configuration 235) may be sent via a layer 3 (e.g., RRC layer) message, a MAC CE, a DCI, or any combination.
[0131] In some aspects, since the number of antenna ports of the SRS resource can be statically configured by RRC signaling, the number of PUSCH spatial layers of inter-UE interference (e.g., the number of spatial layers of CLI 230) can be a static value of the SRS resource whose usage information corresponds to the codebook. Therefore, the base station 205 can indicate the number of antenna ports of the SRS resource to the UE 210 through RRC signaling or MAC CE, for example, in the configuration 235 message of the periodic or semi-periodic CSI report configuration. That is, the UE 210 can receive an indication of the number of antenna ports of at least one reference signal resource (e.g., SRS resource) in the reference signal resource set (e.g., SRS resource set) together with the configuration 235.
[0132] In some aspects, since the number of spatial layers of the UE 215 PUSCH can be dynamically configured by DCI, the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) can be a dynamic value of the SRS resource set whose use is non-codebook. Therefore, the base station 205 can indicate the number of spatial layers of the UE 215 PUSCH to the UE 210 through DCI, for example, in the configuration 230 message of the non-periodic CSI reporting configuration. That is, the UE 210 can receive an indication of the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230 associated with the interfering device (e.g., UE 215) together with the configuration 235.
[0133] Based on the usage information indicated in the configuration 235, the UE 210 can identify or otherwise determine the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230 associated with the interfering device (e.g., in this example, the UE 215). In at least some aspects, the UE 210 can determine the channel state information (e.g., CSI) of the CLI 230 based on the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230.
[0134] In some aspects, the UE 210 may determine the number of spatial layers of inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) when operating in full-duplex mode, for example, based at least in part on the indicated use of an SRS resource set. If the use of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230) may be equal to the indicated (e.g., in configuration 235) number of PUSCH spatial layers. If the use of the SRS resource set is codebook, the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230) may be equal to the number of antenna ports of the SRS resources in the SRS resource set. If an SRS resource indicator (SRI) is associated with a CSI value, the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference may be equal to the number of antenna ports of the SRS resources corresponding to the SRI.
[0135] That is, based on the CSI report configuration message (e.g., configuration 235), the UE 210 may determine the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) in full-duplex mode. If the base station 205 indicates the SRS resources whose usage is the codebook as the assumed interference and also indicates the number of antenna ports thereof, the UE 210 uses the number of antenna ports as the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference in full-duplex mode. Therefore, the UE 210 may determine that the configuration 235 indicates the reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set. The UE 210 may determine, at least in part based on the configuration 235, that the usage information for the reference signal resources is based on the usage of the codebook. Therefore, the UE 210 may determine, at least in part based on the usage based on the codebook, that the number of spatial layers of the CLI is the number of antenna ports of the reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0136] If the base station 205 indicates multiple SRS resources whose usage is a codebook as assumed interference and also indicates the number of antenna ports thereof, the UE 210 selects the SRS resource (e.g., the SRS resource with the minimum interference strength) as a paired uplink transmission in full-duplex mode. Then, the UE 210 determines the number of antenna ports of the SRS resource as the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) in full-duplex mode. Therefore, the UE 210 can determine that the configuration 235 indicates multiple reference signal resources in at least one reference signal resource set. The UE 210 can select the reference signal resource from the multiple reference signal resources based at least in part on the previously determined channel state information. The UE 210 can determine at least in part based on the configuration 235 that the usage information for the selected reference signal resource is based on the usage of the codebook. The UE 210 can determine at least in part based on the usage of the codebook that the number of spatial layers of the CLI is the number of antenna ports of the reference signal resource.
[0137] If the base station 205 indicates one or more SRS resources whose usage is non-codebook as hypothetical interference and the number of these SRS resources is not greater than the indicated number of spatial layers of the PUSCH of the UE 215, the UE 210 determines the number of these SRS resources as the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) in full-duplex mode. As discussed, this can include the base station 205 indicating the number of spatial layers in the configuration 235. Therefore, the UE 210 can determine, at least in part based on the configuration 235, that the usage information for at least one reference signal resource set is based on the use of non-codebook and the number of reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set. The UE 210 can determine that the number of reference signal resources is equal to or less than (e.g., not greater than) the number of spatial layers of the uplink transmission (e.g., PUSCH of the UE 215) from the interfering device. The UE 210 can determine that the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230 is the number of reference signal resources based at least in part on the number of reference signal resources being equal to or less than the number of spatial layers and based on the use of non-codebook.
[0138] If the base station 205 indicates one or more SRS resources whose usage is non-codebook as hypothetical interference and the number of these SRS resources is greater than the indicated number of spatial layers of the UE 215 PUSCH, the UE 210 determines the number of spatial layers of the UE 215 PUSCH as the number of spatial layers of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230) in full-duplex mode. The UE 210 can determine that the number of reference signal resources is greater than the number of spatial layers of the uplink transmission from the interfering device. The UE 210 can determine that the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230 is the number of spatial layers configured for uplink transmission based at least in part on the number of reference signal resources being greater than the number of spatial layers and based on the use of non-codebook.
[0139] In some aspects, the UE 210 may send or otherwise communicate a CLI feedback message (e.g., CSI report 240) to the base station 210 based on the number of spatial layers, which indicates channel state information (e.g., CSI) associated with the CLI 230. That is, the UE 210 may determine and report a CSI value for full-duplex mode based on the number of spatial layers of the determined inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230).
[0140] That is, the UE 210 calculates the full-duplex mode CSI based on the number of spatial layers (which may be represented as N) of the inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230). If the use of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, the UE 210 may select N SRS resources with the minimum interference strength as the assumed inter-UE interference. Then, the UE 210 may calculate the CSI value based on these assumed inter-UE interference. That is, the UE 210 may identify a reference signal resource subset of at least one reference signal resource set based at least in part on the previous channel state information associated with each reference signal resource. The UE 210 may determine, at least in part based on the configuration 235, that the use information for at least one reference signal resource set includes non-codebook-based use. The UE 210 may determine, at least in part based on the use of the non-codebook and the number of spatial layers of the CLI 230, the channel state information (e.g., CSI) associated with the cross-link interference of the reference signal resource subset.
[0141] If the use of the SRS resource set is a codebook, the UE 210 selects an SRS resource with the minimum interference strength as the assumed inter-UE interference. Then, the UE 210 can calculate the CSI value based on the assumed inter-UE interference. For example, the interference strength of the SRS resource with multiple antenna ports can be calculated by adding the interference strength of each port of the SRS resource. That is, the UE 210 can identify the reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set based at least in part on the previous channel state information associated with each reference signal resource. The UE 210 can determine, at least in part based on the configuration 235, that the use information for at least one reference signal resource set includes the use based on the codebook. The UE 210 can determine the channel state information associated with the cross-link interference for the reference signal resource based at least in part on the use based on the codebook and the number of spatial layers of the cross-link.
[0142] Based on the determined channel state information (e.g., CSI), UE 210 may report its full-duplex mode CSI (e.g., in a CLI feedback message (such as CSI report 240)). If the usage of the SRS resource set is non-codebook, UE 210 may report no more than N SRI values. That is, UE 210 may determine, based at least in part on configuration 235, that usage information for at least one reference signal resource set includes non-codebook based usage. UE 210 may send a CLI feedback message indicating channel state information for a subset of reference signal resources in at least one reference signal resource set based at least in part on non-codebook usage.
[0143] If the usage of the SRS resource set is codebook, the UE 210 may report an SRI value. That is, the UE 210 may determine, based at least in part on the configuration 230, that the usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set includes codebook-based usage. The UE 210 may send a CLI feedback message based at least in part on the codebook-based usage, the CLI feedback message indicating channel state information for reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0144] In some aspects, UE 210 may be paired with multiple uplink UEs (e.g., multiple potential interfering devices). If base station 205 pairs one downlink UE (e.g., UE 210) with multiple uplink UEs (e.g., in this example, UE 215 and other interfering devices) in full-duplex mode (where the uplink UEs operate using MU-MIMO transmission), base station 205 may combine SRS resources with the same usage from different uplink UEs into one SRS resource set. In this way, base station 205 may indicate to UE 210 an SRS resource set whose usage is a codebook or an SRS resource set whose usage is a non-codebook, each SRS resource set containing SRS resources with the same usage from multiple uplink UEs. UE 210 may determine the number of spatial layers of inter-UE interference (e.g., CLI 230 plus CLI from other interfering devices) based on the use of the SRS resource set, while ignoring the source of the SRS resources in the SRS resource set (e.g., UE 210 does not know which uplink UE the SRS resource set is configured for). UE 210 may report a CSI value and one or more associated SRI values, where the SRI value may identify SRS resources from one or more uplink UEs.
[0145] Thus, the base station 205 can determine that there are multiple interfering devices associated with the UE 210, each interfering device being associated with a corresponding set of reference signal resources having the same usage information. The base station 205 can combine the corresponding set of reference signal resources for each interfering device into an indication of at least one reference signal resource set based at least in part on the same usage information. In some aspects, this can include the base station 205 identifying an interference level associated with at least one interfering device of the multiple interfering devices based at least in part on an SRI and an associated CLI level indicated in a CLI message (e.g., a CLI feedback message such as a CSI report 240).
[0146] Therefore, various aspects of the described technology support informing UE 210 in full-duplex mode how many SRS resources the inter-UE interference comes from. With this information, UE 210 can select the correct matching uplink UE (e.g., interfering device) and determine the accurate CSI value based on the inter-UE interference hypothesis. This can improve the data throughput of the full-duplex system.
[0147] Figure 3 An example of a process 300 for supporting channel state reporting based on sounding reference signal resource usage in full duplex according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. In some examples, the process 300 can implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. Aspects of the process 300 can be implemented by the UE 305 and the base station 310 (which can be examples of corresponding devices described herein).
[0148] At 315, the base station 310 may determine, for the UE 305 CLI measurement of the CLI from the interfering device, at least one reference signal resource set (eg, an SRS resource set) and usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0149] At 320, the base station 310 may send (and the UE 305 may receive) a configuration for sending a CLI feedback message, the configuration indicating at least one reference signal resource set to be monitored by the UE 305 for CLI from the interfering device, and the configuration also indicating usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0150] At 325, UE 305 may determine, based at least in part on the usage information, a number of spatial layers for a CLI associated with the interfering device. In some aspects (when a codebook is used), this may include base station 310 sending (and UE 305 receiving) an indication of a number of antenna ports for at least one reference signal resource of at least one reference signal resource set with the configuration. In some aspects (when a non-codebook is used), this may include base station 310 sending (and UE 305 receiving) an indication of a number of spatial layers for a CLI associated with the interfering device. Figure 4 The non-codebook usage scenario is specifically shown in FIG.
[0151] In some aspects, this may include the UE 305 determining that the configuration indicates reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set. Thus, the UE 305 may determine, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the reference signal resources includes codebook-based usage, and may also determine, based at least in part on the codebook-based usage, that the number of spatial layers of the CLI is the number of antenna ports for the reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0152] In some aspects, this may include the UE 305 determining that the configuration indicates a plurality of reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set. The UE 305 may select the reference signal resource from the plurality of reference signal resources based at least in part on the previously determined channel state information. Thus, the UE 305 may determine, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the selected reference signal resource includes codebook-based usage, and further determine, based at least in part on the codebook-based usage, that the number of spatial layers of the CLI is the number of antenna ports for the reference signal resource.
[0153] At 330, UE 305 may determine channel state information (e.g., CSI) associated with the CLI based at least in part on the number of spatial layers. At 335, UE 305 may send (and base station 310 may receive) a CLI feedback message (e.g., CSI report) indicating the channel state information.
[0154] In some aspects, this may include the UE 305 determining, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set is based on non-codebook usage. Thus, the UE 305 may send a CLI feedback message based at least in part on the non-codebook usage, the CLI feedback message indicating channel state information for a subset of reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set (also as Figure 4 shown).
[0155] In some aspects, this can include the UE 305 determining, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set is codebook-based usage. Accordingly, the UE 305 can send a CLI feedback message indicating channel state information for reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set based at least in part on the codebook-based usage.
[0156] Figure 4 An example of a process 400 for supporting channel state reporting based on sounding reference signal resource usage in full duplex according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. In some examples, the process 400 can implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. Aspects of the process 400 can be implemented by a UE 405 and a base station 410 (which can be examples of corresponding devices described herein).
[0157] At 415, the base station 410 may determine, for the UE 405 CLI measurement of the CLI from the interfering device, at least one reference signal resource set (eg, an SRS resource set) and usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set.
[0158] At 420, base station 410 may send (and UE 405 may receive) a configuration for sending a CLI feedback message, the configuration indicating at least one reference signal resource set to be monitored by UE 405 for CLI from an interfering device, the configuration also indicating usage information for the at least one reference signal resource set. Figure 4 In some aspects, the configuration information sent from the base station 410 to the UE 405 may indicate the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the interfering device.
[0159] At 425, UE 405 may determine, based at least in part on the usage information, a number of spatial layers for a CLI associated with the interfering device. In some aspects, this may include UE 405 determining that the configuration indicates one or more reference signal resources in at least one reference signal resource set. UE 405 may determine that the number of reference signal resources in at least one reference signal resource set is not greater than the indicated number of spatial layers associated with the interfering device. Thus, UE 405 may determine, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the selected reference signal resource includes non-codebook based usage, and further determine, based at least in part on the non-codebook based usage, that the number of spatial layers for the CLI is the number of reference signal resources.
[0160] Alternatively, at 425, UE 405 may determine that the number of reference signal resources in at least one reference signal resource set may be greater than the indicated number of spatial layers associated with the interfering device. Thus, UE 405 may determine, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for the selected reference signal resources includes non-codebook based usage, and further determine, based at least in part on the non-codebook based usage, that the number of spatial layers of the CLI is the same as the indicated number of spatial layers (received at 420).
[0161] At 430, UE 405 may determine channel state information (e.g., CSI) associated with the CLI based at least in part on the number of spatial layers. At 435, UE 405 may send (and base station 410 may receive) a CLI feedback message (e.g., CSI report) indicating the channel state information.
[0162] In some aspects, this may include the UE 405 determining, based at least in part on the configuration, that the usage information for at least one reference signal resource set is based on non-codebook usage. Thus, the UE 405 may send a CLI feedback message based at least in part on the non-codebook usage, the CLI feedback message indicating channel state information for a subset of reference signal resources in the at least one reference signal resource set. The subset of reference signal resources for which the UE 405 reports the channel state information is not greater than the number of reference signal resources used by the UE 405 to calculate the channel state information.
[0163] Figure 5 An example of a process 500 for supporting channel state reporting based on SRS resource usage in full duplex according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. In some examples, the process 500 can implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. Aspects of the process 500 can be implemented by a parent node 505, an IAB node 510, and a downstream node 515 (which can be examples of corresponding devices described herein).
[0164] That is, the techniques for channel state reporting described herein can be adopted in an IAB network. The IAB network may include an anchor node having a connection to a core network, one or more IAB nodes forming a link within the IAB network, and one or more UEs associated with the IAB node (e.g., each IAB node may be associated with one or more UEs). In a broad sense, the IAB network provides a backhaul connection to the core network for the UE via one or more intermediate IAB nodes to the anchor IAB node. In some aspects, each IAB node may include a DU functional unit that manages various aspects of a wireless backhaul link between an IAB node and a parent IAB node (which may be only an upstream IAB node or may be an anchor IAB node) and between an IAB node and a downstream IAB node (which may be referred to as a child IAB node, where the child IAB node may be referred to as an IAB node or UE). In addition, each IAB node may also include a mobile terminal (MT) functional unit that manages various aspects of a wireless access link between an IAB node and one or more associated UEs (in this context, from the perspective of the IAB node, it may also be considered a downstream node). Thus, the parent node 505 may refer to an upstream IAB node within the IAB network, which in some examples may be an anchor node or another upstream IAB node between the IAB node 510 and the anchor node. The IAB node 510 may be an example of an IAB node within the IAB network, which may be implemented or implemented by a base station and / or a UE. The downstream node 515 may be an example of an IAB node downstream of the IAB node 510, which may be referred to as a downstream IAB node communicating with the IAB node 540 via a backhaul link or a UE communicating with the IAB node 510 via an access link. In some aspects, the IAB node 510 may operate in full-duplex communication with the parent node 505 and / or the downstream node 515.
[0165] In general, the process 500 illustrates an example in which a parent node 505 may send or otherwise communicate a CSI reporting configuration to an IAB node 510. In general, a CSI reporting configuration may generally carry or otherwise communicate information identifying how the IAB node 510 generates a CSI report based on monitoring CSI-RS transmissions from the parent IAB node 505 to the IAB node 510 using a CSI-RS resource set. In some aspects, the CSI reporting configuration may also carry or otherwise communicate usage information for the CSI-RS resource set (e.g., information identifying the usage or purpose of the CSI-RS transmission, such as an indication of using the transmission of the associated resources for CSI measurement and reporting purposes). Based on the CSI reporting configuration, the IAB node 510 may send or otherwise provide the CSI resource configuration to a downstream node 515 (which may be only a downstream IAB node served by a DU functional unit of the IAB node 510 or may be a UE served by an MT functional unit of the IAB node 510). The parent node 505 may transmit a CSI-RS according to a CSI-RS resource set, and the IAB node 510 may monitor the CSI-RS to determine the CSI for the link between the IAB node 510 and the parent IAB node 505. However, the downstream node 515 may also receive (e.g., listen to) a CSI-RS transmission from the parent IAB node (which may be a CLI from the perspective of the downstream node 515), and determine (e.g., based on a CSI resource configuration provided by the IAB node 510 to the downstream IAB node 515) CSI information (e.g., CLI information) for the parent IAB node 505. Therefore, the downstream node 515 may transmit or otherwise provide a CSI report to the IAB node 510 indicating the CSI information for the parent node 505. That is, the CSI for the parent node 505 may be associated with a CLI based on the number of spatial layers associated with the parent node 505 (e.g., the number of ports of the CSI-RS). Thus, the IAB node 510 may identify or otherwise determine a number of interfering spatial layers associated with the parent IAB node 505 (eg, from the perspective of the downstream node 515), which may be equal to or less than the number of CSI-RS ports associated with the CSI-RS resource set.
[0166] For example, at 520, the parent node 505 may send or otherwise provide (and the IAB node 510 may receive or otherwise obtain) a CSI report configuration for generating a CSI report. In at least some aspects, the CSI report may be based on the IAB node 510 monitoring the CSI-RS resource set. That is, the CSI report configuration may identify the CSI resource set to be used by the parent node 505 to send the CSI-RS, and the IAB node 510 may monitor the CSI-RS to determine the channel state of the link between the parent node 505 and the IAB node 510. In some aspects, the CSI report configuration may also identify or otherwise indicate usage information for the CSI-RS resource set. For example, the CSI report configuration may carry or otherwise transmit information identifying the number of ports in the CSI-RS resource set. In some aspects, the CSI report configuration may be sent or otherwise provided via an RRC message, a MAC CE, and / or a DCI.
[0167] At 525, the IAB node 510 may send or otherwise provide (and the downstream node 515 may receive or otherwise obtain) a CSI resource configuration. Broadly speaking, the CSI resource configuration may be based on the usage information for the CSI-RS resource set and may identify the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the parent node 505. That is, the IAB node 510 may send a CSI resource configuration to the downstream node 515 that includes the number of ports in the CSI-RS resource set. In some aspects, the CSI resource configuration may carry or otherwise convey information substantially similar to that received by the IAB node 510 from the parent node 505 in the CSI reporting configuration.
[0168] Therefore and at 530, the parent node 505 may transmit one or more CSI-RS according to the CSI-RS resource set identified in the CSI reporting configuration. CSI-RS transmission may use multiple ports, which may be associated with the number of spatial layers used for CSI-RS.
[0169] At 535, the downstream node 515 may identify or otherwise determine the CSI based on the CSI-RS transmission of the parent node 505 (e.g., based on the IAB node 510 monitoring the CSI-RS resource set according to the CSI resource configuration). In this context, the CSI-RS may be a reference signal configured by the parent node 505 for the IAB node 510 for channel state measurement and reporting. However, such a CSI-RS may also be received or otherwise detected by the downstream node 515 (e.g., from the perspective of the downstream node 511, the CSI-RS transmission from the parent node 505 to the IAB node 510 may be an interference signal). Therefore, from the perspective of the downstream node 505, the CSI-RS transmission for channel state and reporting from the parent node 505 to the IAB node 510 may result in a CLI at the downstream node 515.
[0170] At 540, the downstream node 515 may send or otherwise provide (and the IAB node 510 may receive or otherwise obtain) a CSI report indicating the CSI. In this context, the CSI may correspond to the CLI observed by the downstream node 515 based on the CSI-RS transmission. The CLI may be based at least to some extent on the number of spatial layers of the CLI (e.g., based on usage information for the CSI-RS, which indicates the number of CSI-RS ports). The CSI report may be sent via a backhaul link of the IAB network (e.g., when the downstream node 515 is another IAB node within the IAB network) or via an access link (e.g., when the downstream node 515 is a UE associated with the IAB node 510).
[0171] For example, the IAB node 510 may identify or otherwise determine (e.g., based on the CSI report) a number of interfering spatial layers determined or otherwise observed by the downstream node 515. In some aspects, the number of interfering spatial layers may be equal to or less than the number of CSI-RS ports associated with the CSI-RS resource set. In some aspects, the IAB node 510 may identify or otherwise determine (e.g., based on the CSI report) a PMI associated with the number of interfering spatial layers.
[0172] At 545, the IAB node 515 may send or otherwise provide a CSI report (e.g., a second CSI report) to the parent node 505. In this context, the CSI report may be based on the CSI-RS measurements performed by the IAB node 510 and the CSI report received from the downstream node 515. For example, the CSI report provided by the IAB node 510 to the parent node 505 may carry or otherwise transmit the CSI information of the IAB node 510 and the CSI report associated with the CLI from the downstream node 515 based on the number of spatial layers of the CSI-RS resource set. Thus, the IAB node 510 may send or otherwise provide (and the parent node 505 may receive or otherwise obtain) a CSI report (e.g., a second CSI report) indicating the CSI (e.g., based on the IAB node 510 monitoring the CSI-RS resource set). The CSI report (e.g., the second CSI report) in this example may carry or otherwise transmit part or all of the CSI report received from the downstream node 515.
[0173] Thus, the child node (e.g., downstream node 515) may report full-duplex CSI to the IAB node 510 based on an indication of the CSI resource configuration. The downstream node 515 may measure (e.g., monitor) the CSI-RS sent from the parent node 505, and then report the number of interfering signal spatial layers. In this context, the number of spatial layers may not be greater than the number of CSI-RS ports and corresponding CSI. In some aspects, the CSI report may report the precoding matrix (PMI) (e.g., precoding weights) of the interfering signal. The IAB node 510 then reports the full-duplex CSI to the parent node 505 based on the CSI report it receives from the downstream node 515. In the CSI report provided by the IAB node 510 to the parent node 505, the value of the rank indicator (RI) may be equal to the number of interfering spatial layers indicated by the downstream node 515. That is, the CSI report sent to the parent node 505 at 545 may also indicate the number of spatial layers and / or CLI based on spatial layers (eg, based on the downstream node 515 detecting CSI-RS transmissions from the parent node 505 to the IAB node 510).
[0174] Figure 6 An example of a process 600 for supporting channel state reporting based on sounding reference signal resource usage in full duplex according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. In some examples, the process 600 can implement aspects of the wireless communication system 100 and / or 200. Aspects of the process 600 can be implemented by a parent node 605, an IAB node 610, and a downstream node 615 (which can be examples of corresponding devices described herein). In some aspects, the IAB node 610 can operate in full duplex communication with the parent node 605 and / or the downstream node 615.
[0175] In general, process 600 illustrates an example of the techniques described that can be used in an upstream scenario within an IAB network. For example, an IAB node 610 may send or otherwise provide an SRS measurement configuration to a parent node 605. In general, an SRS measurement configuration may provide information to be used by a parent node 605 to measure a CLI on a reference signal resource set (e.g., an SRS resource set) to be used by a downstream node 615 to send an SRS. The SRS measurement configuration may also identify or otherwise indicate the number of spatial layers of a CLI associated with a downstream node (e.g., based on usage information for reference signal resources). The IAB node 610 may also send or otherwise provide an SRS transmission configuration to a downstream node 615, which carries or otherwise transmits information identifying a reference signal resource set to be used by a downstream node 615 to send an SRS. The SRS transmission configuration may also carry or otherwise transmit information identifying usage information of reference signal resources. The downstream node 615 may send an SRS according to the SRS transmission configuration, and the IAB node 610 may use the SRS to determine the channel state of the link between the IAB node 610 and the downstream node 615. However, the parent node 605 may also receive and measure the SRS transmission of the downstream node 615. Again, this may provide the parent node 605 with an indication of the CLI based on the channel state of the link between the IAB node 610 and its downstream node 615. Therefore, the parent node 605 may also identify or otherwise determine the amount of interference (e.g., channel state / CLI interference) and make scheduling decisions for the IAB node 610 and / or the downstream node 615. The parent node 605 may send or otherwise provide uplink resource configuration (e.g., PUCCH and / or PUSCH resource configuration) based on the CLI determined by the parent node 605 measuring the SRS transmission of the downstream node 615. Again, this may be based on usage information (e.g., the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream IAB node). In this context, the CLI or co-channel interference may come from the downstream node 615 and the parent node 605.
[0176] Thus and at 620, the IAB node 610 may send or otherwise provide (and the parent node 605 may receive or otherwise obtain) an SRS measurement configuration. Broadly speaking, the SRS measurement configuration may carry or otherwise convey information used by the parent node 605 to measure the CLI on a reference signal resource set used by the downstream node 615 to send the SRS. In some aspects, the SRS measurement configuration may also identify or otherwise indicate the number of spatial layers of the CLI associated with the downstream node 615 (e.g., based on usage information for the reference signal resource set). That is, the SRS measurement configuration may identify usage information for a reference signal resource set (e.g., an SRS resource set). Thus, in this context, the IAB node 610 may send a message to the parent node 605 indicating an SRS measurement configuration, the SRS measurement configuration containing usage information for the SRS resource set. In some aspects, the SRS measurement configuration may be communicated via a backhaul link within the IAB network (eg, sent in an RRC message, MAC CE, and / or DCI via a backhaul link between the parent node 605 and the IAB node 610).
[0177] At 625, the IAB node 610 may send or otherwise provide (and the downstream node 615 may receive or otherwise obtain) an SRS transmission configuration indicating a reference signal resource set to be used by the downstream node 615 to transmit the SRS. The SRS transmission configuration may also carry or otherwise convey an indication of usage information for the reference signal resources. That is, the IAB node 610 in this example may send a message indicating an SRS transmission configuration to the downstream node 615 (e.g., a child node or a UE), the SRS transmission configuration including usage information for the SRS resource set. In some aspects, the usage information (e.g., a usage value) may be the same as indicated to the parent node 605 in the SRS measurement configuration.
[0178] At 630, the downstream node 615 may perform SRS transmission according to the reference signal resource set (e.g., using resources identified in the SRS resource set). That is, the downstream node 615 may identify resources that may be used to send SRS and perform SRS transmission using the corresponding resources. Broadly speaking, SRS transmission is intended for use by the IAB node 610 for channel sounding (e.g., for channel measurement and reporting, such as CSI). However, such SRS transmission may also be received or otherwise monitored by the parent node 605. From the perspective of the parent node 606, the SRS transmission may be an interference signal to be measured and used by the parent node 655 for scheduling decisions.
[0179] Thus, at 635, the parent node 605 may identify or otherwise determine CSI (e.g., in this context, CLI) based on the SRS transmissions performed by the downstream node 615. That is, the parent node 605 may monitor and measure or otherwise quantify the SRS transmissions from the downstream node 615. Based on such measurements, the parent node 605 may identify or otherwise determine the amount or degree of interference (e.g., CLI) generated by the transmissions from the downstream node 615. Thus, in this context, the parent node 605 may use the CLI associated with the downstream node 615 transmissions when making scheduling decisions (e.g., identifying or otherwise allocating PUCCH and / or PUSCH resources) for communications involving the IAB node 610 and / or the downstream node 615. For example, the parent node 605 may optimize such scheduling decisions to mitigate or otherwise avoid interference associated with the downstream node 615 transmissions.
[0180] Therefore and at 640, the parent node 605 can send or otherwise provide (and the IAB node 610 can receive or otherwise obtain) an uplink resource configuration that is based at least in part on the CLI of the parent node 605 measuring the SRS transmission from the downstream node 615. Again, since the SRS measurement configuration includes usage information of the reference signal resource set, in this case, the uplink resource configuration can be based on the number of spatial layers associated with the SRS transmission. Therefore, the parent node 605 in this example can measure (e.g., monitor) the SRS transmission of the downstream node 615 and determine the number of interfering spatial layers associated with the CLI. This can improve the corresponding uplink resource configuration (e.g., PUSCH and / or PUCCH resource configuration) scheduling decision at the parent node 605.
[0181] Figure 7 A block diagram 700 of a device 705 for supporting channel state reporting based on SRS resource usage in full duplex according to aspects of the present disclosure is shown. The device 705 may be an example of aspects of a UE 115 or an IAB node as described herein. The device 705 may include a receiver 710, a communication manager 715, and a transmitter 720.
