A package comprising: a tamper-evident seal, wherein the tamper-evident seal comprises: a paper substrate comprising: a first adhesive portion configured to be attached to a first side panel of a base box; a second adhesive portion configured to be attached to a second side panel of a lid, wherein the first adhesive portion and the second adhesive portion are disposed on opposite sides of the paper substrate; and a tab configured to be accessible on an exterior of the package when the tamper-evident seal is applied, wherein the first adhesive portion and the second adhesive portion are disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel when the package is in a closed configuration, and wherein the paper substrate tears when the tab is pulled with a force great enough that the first adhesive portion and the second adhesive portion remain fixed on the first side panel and the second side panel, respectively, while the remainder of the paper substrate tears freely, such that the package can be opened.
2. The package of claim 1, wherein one of the first adhesive portion or the second adhesive portion comprises a fibrous tape.
3. The package of claim 1, wherein the first adhesive portion and the second adhesive portion extend in opposite directions from the tab, forming a T-shape.
4. The package of claim 1, wherein the paper substrate is configured to tear to create a tear path that extends in the direction of the pulling force.
5. The package of claim 1, wherein the tab is releasably attached to the base box or the lid when the base box and the lid are in a closed configuration.

A package comprising: a base box comprising a first side panel; a lid comprising a second side panel parallel to the first side panel; and a tamper-evident seal disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel when the base box and the lid are in a closed configuration, the tamper-evident seal comprising: a paper substrate comprising: a first portion extending in a first direction; a second portion and a third portion extending in opposite directions, wherein the first portion, the second portion, and the third portion together form a T-shape, wherein the first portion is folded onto itself at a first fold, and wherein the second portion and the third portion are each folded at a second fold and a third fold, respectively, around an overlapping portion of the first portion formed by the fold, a first adhesive portion attached to the first side panel; a second adhesive portion attached to the second side panel, wherein the paper substrate is configured to tear in response to a force applied in a direction away from the package such that the first portion tears freely along first and second lines parallel to the folds of the second portion and the third portion.
7. The package of claim 6, wherein one of the first adhesive portion or the second adhesive portion comprises a fibrous tape.
8. The package of claim 6, wherein the first adhesive portion is attached to a surface of the first side panel facing the second side panel, and wherein the second adhesive portion is attached to a surface of the second side panel facing the first side panel.
9. The package of claim 6, the base box further comprising: a recess on an exterior of the base box that receives a portion of the tamper-evident seal, wherein the first portion of the paper base further comprises a releasable adhesive to engage the recess when the package is in a closed configuration.
10. The package of claim 6, wherein the paper base further comprises a tab extending from the first portion, wherein the tab releasably attaches to the base box or the lid when the base box and the lid are in the closed configuration.
11. The package of claim 6, wherein the paper base comprises a stress concentration feature at an intersection of the first portion and the second portion and the first portion and the third portion, respectively.
12. The package of claim 6, wherein the tamper-evident seal further comprises: a reinforcing element secured to the first portion of the paper base and configured to increase a stiffness of the first portion relative to one of the second portion or the third portion.
13. The package of claim 6, wherein the widths of the portions of the paper base are equal.
14. The package of claim 6, wherein the paper base further comprises a tab extending from the first portion, the tab having an increased width relative to the first portion, and wherein the widths of the second portion and the third portion are equal to each other.
15. The package of claim 6, wherein the first portion of the paper base further comprises a releasable adhesive to engage one of the base box or the lid when the package is in a closed configuration prior to tearing the tamper-evident seal.
16. A package comprising: a base box comprising a first side panel and a base panel; a lid comprising a second side panel parallel to the first side panel and perpendicular to the base panel when the package is closed; and a tamper-evident seal disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel when the base box and the lid are in a closed configuration, the tamper-evident seal comprising: a paper base; a first adhesive coupling the paper base to the base panel; a second adhesive coupling the paper base to the second side panel, wherein the first adhesive and the second adhesive are configured to peel from their respective panels in response to a force applied in a direction away from the package.
17. The package of claim 16, wherein the paper base does not tear during removal from the package.
18. The package of claim 16, the tamper-evident seal further comprising: a third adhesive coupling the paper substrate to the second side panel, the third adhesive having a stronger shear strength than the second adhesive so as to remove the tamper-evident seal from the package.
19. The package of claim 16, wherein the paper substrate is not attached to the first side panel.
20. The package of claim 16, wherein the paper substrate extends along the base panel, is folded inward, and is folded along the first side panel, and is folded over on itself so that the second adhesive can be coupled to the second side panel.
21. A package comprising: a base box comprising a first side panel; a lid comprising a second side panel parallel to the first side panel; and a tamper-evident seal disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel when the base box and the lid are in a closed configuration, the tamper-evident seal comprising: a paper substrate comprising: a label surface visible when the package is in a closed configuration; and a tab configured to be tearable in response to a force away from the package so that the tamper-evident seal is broken.
22. The package of claim 21, wherein the label surface is adhered to a bottom panel of the base box perpendicular to the first side panel and the second side panel, wherein a portion of the tamper-evident seal disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel is adhered to an inside of the second side panel and is not adhered to the first side panel, and wherein tearing the tab breaks the tamper-evident seal by separating the label surface from the portion of the tamper-evident seal disposed between the first side panel and the second side panel.
23. A package comprising: a base box comprising a first side panel and a base panel; a lid comprising a second side panel parallel to the first side panel and perpendicular to the base panel when the package is closed; and a tamper-evident seal comprising: a first paper substrate; a first adhesive coupling the first paper substrate to the base panel; a second paper substrate fixed to a portion of the first paper substrate; and a second adhesive coupling the second paper substrate to the second side panel in a first configuration, wherein in response to a force applied to a tab portion of the tamper-evident seal in a direction away from the package, the first adhesive and the second adhesive are configured to peel away from their respective panels, and wherein the second adhesive is configured to transition to be disposed between the first paper substrate and the second paper substrate.
24. The package of claim 23, wherein the tamper-evident seal does not tear during removal from the package.
25. The package of claim 23, wherein the first adhesive is a splittable adhesive, whereby when the first adhesive is detached from the base panel, the splittable adhesive itself separates, thereby exposing a non-adhesive surface.
26. The package of claim 25, wherein the splittable adhesive further comprises an indicator surface that is only visible when the splittable adhesive is separated, such that the opening of the tamper-evident seal is evident.
27. A package comprising: a tray configured to house a product in a closed configuration; a sleeve configured to receive the tray; and a tamper-evident seal comprising: a paper substrate secured to the tray and folded to an outer surface of the sleeve in a closed configuration; and a splittable adhesive configured to adhere a portion of the paper substrate to the outer surface of the sleeve in the closed configuration, and further configured to split in response to a force away from the outer surface of the sleeve, thereby exposing a non-adhesive surface; wherein in response to a force applied to the tamper-evident seal away from the sleeve, the paper substrate detaches from the outer surface of the sleeve via the splitting of the splittable adhesive while remaining secured to the tray, such that the tamper-evident seal removes the tray from the sleeve as a pull tab for accessing a product housed within the package.
28. The package of claim 27, wherein the splittable adhesive further comprises an indicator surface comprising a portion of the splittable adhesive that remains on the tray once separated, such that the opening of the tamper-evident seal is evident.
29. The package of claim 27, wherein the tamper-evident seal does not tear during removal from the package.
