Description

[0001] This application is a divisional application of an application with an application date of November 8, 2017, application number 201780082988.2, and invention name “Controlled treatment of tissues and dynamic interaction and comparison with tissue and / or treatment data”.

[0002] Incorporated by Reference

[0003] This application claims the benefit of priority to U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 421,119, filed on November 11, 2016. Each of U.S. Patent Nos. 8,088,072 and 8,992,427 and U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 421,119 is hereby incorporated by reference in its entirety to form a part of this application. Technical Field

[0004] The present disclosure generally relates to medical methods and systems for controlling the deployment of injection needles by constructing treatment maps. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and techniques for providing a user interface for dynamic interaction with fibroid data and treatment data. More specifically, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a user interface for dynamically providing a visual representation of information generated by aggregating treatment data from one or more medical items and generating the information. background

[0005] Current medical treatment of organs and tissues within a patient's body often uses injection needles or other elongated bodies for delivery of energy, therapeutic agents, or the like. Some methods use ultrasound imaging to observe and identify treatment targets, and predict and track the position of injection needles relative to the treatment targets.

[0006] Treatments for uterine fibroids have recently been proposed that rely on transvaginal or laparoscopic positioning of a treatment device in the patient's uterus. A radiofrequency or other energy or treatment delivery injection needle is deployed from the device into the fibroid, and energy and / or therapeutic substances are delivered to remove or treat the fibroid. To facilitate positioning of the fibroid and placement of the injection needle within the fibroid, the device includes an ultrasound imaging array having an adjustable field of view in a generally forward or lateral direction relative to an axial shaft carrying the injection needle. The injection needle is advanced from the shaft and across the field of view so that the injection needle can be visualized and guided into the tissue and target fibroid.

[0055] At block 102, the system may optionally receive various fibroid data from user input and / or one or more databases and / or data sources (e.g., including from databases maintained by the user or a third party entity). As an example of a system that receives various fibroid data, the system may access fibroid data from one or more data sources. The data may include computer readable output from a diagnostic test (e.g., transcervical uterine ultrasound, laparoscopic ultrasound, or intrauterine ultrasound). The diagnostic test may be performed on a uterine surface. Figure 1 Before or with the operation shown Figure 1 The operations shown are performed simultaneously.

[0056] The data may then optionally be processed by a server at block 104. For example, the fibroid data may be organized by location, type, and / or by any other useful index to enable rapid searching of the fibroid data.

[0057] At block 106, a user interface (and / or user interface data) is generated that displays (and / or can be used to generate and display) a mapping interface, as described in further detail below. For example, as described in further detail below, a mapping interface detailing the constructed fibroid map can be displayed on a user interface. The mapping interface can be constructed completely automatically based on the received data, completely by the user, or a combination thereof. For example, the mapping interface can be automatically populated based on the received data and then manipulated by the user. In various embodiments, the system creates a visual representation of the fibroid data and / or treatment data on the generated user interface, including, for example, a description of the fibroid, the location of the fibroid, the type of fibroid (e.g., intramural, submucosal, subserosal, pedunculated submucosal, pedunculated subserosal), the estimated fibroid size, the pre-treatment state of the fibroid, the number of fibroids, the order of fibroid treatment, and other fibroid information. In various embodiments, the system can create a populated fibroid map after a preliminary exploration process, as described below with respect to Fig. 9 described.

[0058] At block 108, the user may interact with the user interface of the system in any manner described below. For example, the user may import additional data, interact with the mapping interface, provide various search query criteria, etc. At block 110, fibroid data may be accessed by the system based on the provided user action. In various embodiments, the treatment system may access one or more internal and / or external databases in response to the user action. One or more of the accessed internal and / or external databases may or may not include the fibroid data described above.

[0059] At block 112, the system may develop a treatment plan based on the constructed fibroid map. The treatment plan may be developed manually by the user. In some embodiments, the system may automatically develop a treatment plan based on the fibroid data, as described in further detail below. The user may modify the automatically created treatment plan (e.g., change the order in which fibroids are treated, choose to skip treatment of some fibroids, etc.). Some changes may be prohibited or generate error or warning messages. The system may suggest changes to the manually created treatment plan.

[0060] At block 114, the user interface can be updated in response to the user's actions. The system can update the user interface after the treatment process begins. The updated interface can include data obtained from the treatment device. For example, the user interface can display information about the treatment device, treatment parameters, the date and / or time of treatment, and other treatment information described in more detail herein. Treatment can be blocked by the system unless the treatment is linked to a specific fibroid. Fibroid information can be displayed in a list and / or in the mapping interface, and / or animation can be provided along with other interface updates described below. As shown by arrow 116, the operation can return to block 106 so that the user can update and / or enter a new action. In some embodiments, the fibroid map interface may be removed from view or reduced in size upon user action (e.g., operation of a treatment device).

[0070] The user interface 200 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 may also include a treatment report button 214, which, when pressed by the user, causes the system to generate a treatment report 600, 700, which will be discussed in further detail below.

[0071] In various embodiments, the functionality of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system (as described below with respect to the various figures) may be implemented in one or more software computer modules stored in memory and executed by one or more hardware processors, as described below with reference to Figure 8The example interactive treatment mapping and planning system 800 in FIG. 800 can be designed to operate with a treatment device, display a user interface 200, and / or generate treatment reports 600, 700.

[0072] In various embodiments, Figure 2-5 The user interface 200 of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system can be displayed on an electronic display viewable by a user of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system. The user of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system can interact with the user interface 200 by, for example, touching the display when the display is touch enabled, clicking on various elements of the user interface 200 using a mouse pointer, and / or entering data using a keyboard. Figure 2-5 The user interface 200 interacts with.

[0073] A user of the system may interact with the user interface 200 by scrolling or panning up, down, and / or side to side, zooming in or out, selecting data items, drawing shapes, performing search queries, and / or the like. Various user actions may reveal more or less details of the user interface 200 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 and / or more or fewer data items.

[0074] Figure 3 Shown according to Figure 1 106 of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system, wherein various types of fibroid data items are displayed. In some embodiments, the system utilizes a graphical fibroid map interface 204 to display a visual representation that provides the user with insightful information about the mapped fibroids. In some embodiments, the system displays a visual representation that provides the user with information related to the fibroid data along with other information without the user having to return to one or more fibroid data sources.

[0075] Prior to the start of the treatment process, the system receives fibroid data. In some embodiments, a user can interact with the user interface 200 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 to manually populate the fibroid map interface 204 with fibroid information. A user can view fibroid information based on previously collected diagnostic results. After locating one or more fibroids through a preliminary ultrasound or other imaging device exploration process, the user can enter the fibroid information into the user interface 200 and / or the fibroid map interface 204. The system can automatically populate the fibroid map interface 200 with the fibroid information. During the preliminary exploration process, the system can generate fibroid information by aggregating information from the user and / or one or more separate data sources, which is referred to below. Fig. 9Further detailed discussion. In some embodiments, as described above, the system can automatically obtain fibroid data from a single and / or multiple databases, from which the fibroid data can be obtained, which databases can be operated, maintained and / or owned by various entities. One or more databases may include a patient database and / or a hospital record management database. After the fibroid information is entered manually by a user or automatically by the system, the system can track and record the fibroid information.

[0076] Various data items, including fibroid data items, may be represented on the fibroid map interface 204 using icons and / or symbols. Figure 2-5 Several examples of fibroid icons 216 that may represent fibroid data on the uterine views 206, 208 are shown. A user may select fibroid data and / or otherwise interact with the fibroid data for each fibroid icon 216 displayed on the fibroid map interface 204. In various embodiments, the system may display the fibroid icons 216 as representations of the fibroid data, including, for example, a description of the fibroid, fibroid location, estimated fibroid size, fibroid pre-treatment status, number of fibroids, fibroid treatment sequence, and other fibroid information.

[0077] The user can manually populate the fibroid map interface 204 by interacting with the fibroid icon 216 within the fibroid icon selection tray 218. As discussed above, the user can interact with the system by various means. For example, the user can click on the fibroid icon 216 and drag the fibroid icon 216 to a desired location. For another example, the user can click on the fibroid icon 216, and then click on the desired location to place the fibroid icon 216 at that location. The user can click on the desired location to place the fibroid icon 216, and then click on the fibroid icon 216 to place the fibroid icon 216 at that location. When the user places the fibroid icon 216 in one uterine view 206, 208, the system can automatically populate the other uterine view 206, 208 with the fibroid icon 216 at the same location on the uterus. The user can change the location of the fibroid icon 216 by interacting with the fibroid icon 216. In some embodiments, when the user moves a fibroid icon 216 up or down in a single uterine view 206, 208, the system may automatically move the corresponding fibroid icon 216 in the other uterine view 206, 208. When the user moves a fibroid icon 216 left or right in a single uterine view 206, 208, the system may not change the position of the corresponding fibroid icon 216 in the other uterine view 206, 208. This allows the fibroid icon 216 to remain at a representative horizontal position of the fibroid icon 216 on the fibroid map interface 204.

[0078] In various embodiments, the system displays each fibroid icon 216 on the fibroid map interface 204 with a specific visual representation. Each fibroid icon 216 can represent the type of fibroid associated with the fibroid data item. The fibroid icon 216 can be selected from a fibroid icon selection tray 218 based on the attributes of the fibroid, as discussed in further detail below. The visual representation may be able to quickly and efficiently provide valuable fibroid information to the user. The system can assign a specific representation to the fibroid data item based on the fibroid information generated from the aggregated information. The visual representation of the fibroid icon 216 can be animated to display, among other things, recent activity, such as changes in fibroid treatment status, fibroid treatment order, or other fibroid information.

[0079] The fibroid icon 216 may include different sizes to represent changes in the estimated fibroid size. Figure 3 As shown, the fibroid icon 216 can be selected from a large fibroid icon 216A, a medium fibroid icon 216B, and a small fibroid icon 216C displayed in a fibroid icon selection tray 218. The fibroid selection tray 218 can include a conical or frusto-conical scale in which the user can click along the vertical axis to select from a simulated classification of sizes. The fibroid selection tray 218 can prompt the user to enter a numerical fibroid estimate size and then base the fibroid icon 216 thereon. The fibroid icon 216 can provide the user with the ability to interact with the fibroid icon 216 to change the properties of the fibroid icon 216. For example, a user can click and drag on a portion of the fibroid icon 216 to increase or decrease the size of the fibroid icon 216. This provides the user with the option of changing the size of the fibroid icon 216 to any desired representative fibroid size. The fibroid icon 216 can be circular / spherical (e.g., as Figure 2-5 In such embodiments, the fibroid icon 216 may be stretched, narrowed, rotated, etc. The user may change the properties of the fibroid icon 216 before and / or after the fibroid icon 216 is placed on the fibroid map interface 204. The fibroid icon 216 may be a graphical representation showing relative fibroid size and fibroid location in the uterus.

[0080] like Figure 3 As shown, the fibroid map interface 204 can display various visual representations that provide the user with insightful information about the mapped fibroids. For example, the fibroid icon 217 indicates the presence of a large (216A sized) fibroid located on the posterior side of the right wall of the uterine cavity. The fibroid icon 217 is yellow, which indicates that the fibroid is not being treated. Figure 4 and Figure 5As shown, a white fibroid icon indicates that the fibroid has been treated. Other colors and schemes for indicating treatment are also possible. For example, a grayscale color scheme can be used to distinguish between fibroid icons 216 indicating untreated and treated fibroids. As described below, the fibroid treatment status can be changed during and / or after the treatment process. Figure 3 Three other fibroids of various estimated sizes and locations are also shown.

[0081] In some embodiments, a user can select (e.g., by clicking, hovering over, etc.) one or more displayed fibroid icons 216 via the fibroid map interface 204 to cause the system to display additional fibroid details. Additional information can be displayed in the fibroid map interface 204 or in a separate portion of the user interface 200. These capabilities can improve user efficiency by authorizing users to access fibroid data through the user interface 200.

[0082] In some embodiments, the user can further interact with the fibroid icon 216 to change various other fibroid properties, such as the fibroid treatment order (e.g., changing the number if the number indicates a treatment order), fibroid treatment status (e.g., marking as treated), fibroid location (e.g., as described above), and / or other fibroid information.

[0083] In some embodiments, the user interface 200 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 may include a legend.

[0084] Embodiments of the interactive treatment mapping and planning system relate to systems that facilitate the treatment of fibroids. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that the fibroids described herein may include any fibroids and are not limited to a particular location or type of fibroid. It should be understood that the term "fibroid" should be interpreted broadly and include any abnormal tissue growth or any other surface or other condition or defect within a patient's uterus or other circumstances that benefit from ablative treatment. For example, the term "fibroid" may be used herein to describe ectopic glandular tissue or myometrium (endometriosis or endometrial tissue ectopic) found in the muscle wall of the uterus.

[0085] III. Develop a treatment plan

[0086] exist Figure 1 At block 112 of the embodiment, a user may develop a treatment plan based on the fibroid map interface 204 after the construction of the fibroid map interface 204. In an alternative embodiment, the system may automatically develop a treatment plan based on the constructed fibroid map interface 204 and the gathered fibroid information. The treatment plan may include showing the fibroid icon 216 on the fibroid map interface 204 to include a number indicating the order of fibroid treatment, such as Figure 3-5As shown. The user and / or the system can change the fibroid treatment order for the fibroid icon 216. The automatic fibroid treatment order can be based on one or more parameters, including, for example, fibroid size (e.g., from largest to smallest, from smallest to largest), fibroid location (e.g., from uppermost to lowermost, from lowermost to uppermost, from most submucosal to most subserosal), likelihood of outgassing, ease of access, combinations thereof, and the like. As a non-limiting example, a parameter can be given a weighted score to recommend treatment of a superior small submucosal fibroid before treatment of a lower-middle intramural fibroid.

[0087] The treatment plan may target the fibroids farthest from the serosa before the fibroids closest to the serosa. The treatment plan may target pedunculated submucosal fibroids, submucosal fibroids, intramural fibroids, subserosal fibroids, and finally pedunculated subserosal fibroids in the order listed.

[0088] In some embodiments, the fibroid treatment sequence can be designed to avoid blurring the imaging field 202. Blurring may be produced by a process known as degassing, which occurs when vapor produced during ablation of the fibroid changes the quality of the image produced by the ultrasound or other imaging device. Therefore, a treatment plan can be formulated to avoid degassing. Several factors (e.g., the mapped fibroid location, fibroid size, other fibroid information, treatment parameters (e.g., temperature, time, temperature ramp, etc.), etc.) may affect the extent to which degassing occurs during the treatment process. In some embodiments, a treatment plan can be formulated that treats fibroids located farther within the uterine cavity before treating fibroids closer to the cervix. Alternatively, fibroids located closer to the cervix can be treated before fibroids located farther within the uterine cavity. A treatment plan can be formulated to treat fibroids located closer to the surface of the endometrium, as opposed to fibroids located deeper within the uterine wall. Fibroid size may be a factor in determining the order in which fibroids are treated. Embodiments of the interactive treatment planning and mapping system may utilize a combinatorial optimization algorithm to determine an improved or optimal fibroid treatment sequence subject to treatment constraints and / or treatment parameters (e.g., temperature, time, temperature ramping, reducing or avoiding degassing, fibroid size, fibroid location, number of fibroids, etc.).

[0089] In some embodiments, the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of both may be used to determine the placement and / or position of the therapeutic device during the treatment process. The interactive treatment planning and mapping system may determine the placement and / or position of the therapeutic device based on the fibroid data and the treatment data. Several factors (e.g., the mapped fibroid location, fibroid size, other fibroid information, treatment parameters (e.g., temperature, time, temperature ramp, etc.), and other information) may affect the placement of the therapeutic device. The user interface may also include a therapeutic device placement and / or position indication on the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of both. The indication may instruct the user to place the therapeutic device in a specific positioning and / or position during the treatment process. An embodiment of the interactive treatment planning and mapping system may utilize a combined optimization algorithm to determine an improved or optimal therapeutic device position and / or placement subject to treatment constraints and / or treatment parameters (e.g., temperature, time, temperature ramp, reduction or avoidance of degassing, fibroid size, fibroid location, number of fibroids, etc.).

[0090] In some instances, the treatment device may be configured to sense its position and / or orientation in space. The treatment device may transmit its position and / or orientation information to an interactive treatment planning and mapping system. The system may incorporate the position and / or orientation information into the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of the two for display to the user. The treatment device may include one or more sensors to measure the position and / or orientation of the treatment device in three-dimensional space. The sensor may transmit the position and / or orientation information to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system so that the position and / or orientation information of the treatment device may be displayed in the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204. In some instances, the treatment device is in the form of an ablation tool including an injection needle, but the treatment device may include other ablation and / or imaging devices, or may include only an imaging device (e.g., for diagnostic purposes).

[0091] In some embodiments, the treatment device includes one or more sensors configured to measure the insertion depth of the treatment device during the treatment process. The insertion depth can be communicated to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system so that the depth of the treatment device can be displayed in the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of the two. In some instances, the treatment device is configured to measure the insertion angle of the treatment device during the treatment process. The insertion angle information can be communicated to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system for display in the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of the two.

[0092] In some embodiments, the treatment device may include one or more sensors configured to determine the device position and / or orientation relative to other objects (such as, for example, a fibroid location, a user, one or more locations on a patient, combinations thereof, and the like). Information corresponding to the sensed position and / or orientation is transmitted to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system. The position and / or orientation information between the treatment device and the fibroid to be ablated may be captured by an external tracking system (e.g., as a non-limiting example, an optical tracking system). The tracking system may be configured to obtain at least one of the position, orientation, and motion information of the treatment device used. The information sensed by the tracking system may be transmitted to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system. The system may be configured to receive the information and display it in the imaging field 202, the fibroid map interface 204, or a combination of the two. The position and / or orientation information may be determined by any suitable method of measuring and determining the position and orientation of an object in three-dimensional space. For example, an optical tracking system and / or an inertial sensor (e.g., a gyroscope sensor and / or an accelerometer) may be configured to obtain one or more of the position, orientation, and motion information of the treatment device. In some examples, the therapeutic device may include visual indicia that provide placement and / or location indications to a user. For example, the therapeutic device may be annotated with a positioning indicator (e.g., a depth indicator) along at least a portion of the therapeutic device to orient a user interacting with the therapeutic device. The indicator may be active (e.g., a light emitting diode) and / or passive (e.g., an optically recognizable pattern).

[0093] In some implementations, the therapeutic device may include an alignment system that periodically transmits a signal that can be captured by one or more corresponding receivers. In some embodiments, the one or more receivers can directly sense the signal from the therapeutic device. The alignment system may include an electromagnetic radiation source and transmit a signal including electromagnetic radiation. For example, the source may be configured to transmit a signal that can travel through one or more portions of the patient's anatomy to be received by a corresponding receiver located outside the patient's cavity.

[0094] The positioning and / or orientation information transmitted to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system can be used in conjunction with the fibroid data so that the position of the treatment device in the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 corresponds to the actual position of the treatment device relative to one or more fibroids. The ability to obtain the positioning and / or orientation data of the treatment device when the user performs a treatment or diagnostic procedure can help the user perform fibroid treatment at an optimal location. For example, during the treatment process, the interactive treatment planning and mapping system can instruct the user via the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 to guide the treatment device to the appropriate depth, positioning and / or orientation for the treatment process. In some instances, the movement of the treatment device can be projected in real time on the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204 during the treatment process. For example, as the treatment device moves through the patient's cavity, the position of the distal tip of the treatment device can be identified on the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204. When the treatment device is located at the target location within the patient's cavity, the treatment device may be located at the target location in the imaging field 202 and / or the fibroid map interface 204. The user interface is updated with the treatment data.

[0095] exist Figure 1 At block 114, as shown, in response to the user's actions, the user interface 200 may be updated before and / or during the treatment process. In some embodiments, the system may update the user interface 200 after the treatment process begins. The updated user interface 200 may include data acquired from the treatment device (e.g., ultrasound device and ablation device). For example, as discussed above, the user interface 200 may display information about the treatment device, treatment parameters, the date and / or time of the treatment, and other treatment information described in more detail herein. In some embodiments, as described above, the user interface 200 may display information about the treatment device, treatment parameters, the date and / or time of the treatment, and other treatment information described in more detail herein. Figure 4-5 As shown, the fibroid map interface 204 may be updated to include treatment parameters 220. The displayed treatment parameters may include the angle of the ultrasound transducer relative to the longitudinal axis of the injection needle ("Angle"), the ablation diameter along the short axis ("Size"), the injection needle deployment depth ("Intro"), the electrode deployment length, and / or other treatment data.

[0096] The user interface 200 may also include a treatment data interface 222 detailing elapsed treatment time, remaining treatment time, ablation treatment volume, ablation treatment area, ablation time, ablation temperature, electrode and / or tissue impedance, RF power, RF temperature, and / or any other desired treatment data. In some embodiments, the treatment data interface 222 may include a power graph 224 showing the relationship between time and RF power. The treatment data interface 222 may include a temperature graph 226 showing the relationship between time and the mapped fibroid temperature.

[0097] In various embodiments, fibroid and / or treatment data may be received and processed by the system at any time and / or continuously. Figure 1 118, the system may determine whether the treatment process has terminated. In some embodiments, termination may be determined by the user clicking on the treatment report button 214 or completing treatment of all mapped fibroids. If the treatment process has not terminated, the system may continually update the user interface 200 as the treatment process continues, as indicated by arrow 120. In embodiments, treatment data may be updated even if the user is viewing data on the user interface 200. For example, the user may use the system to analyze substantially real-time treatment data through the treatment interface 222 and / or the fibroid map interface 204.

[0098] In various embodiments, the system may provide a color-coded representation. For example, the system may characterize the fibroid icon 216 into various categories, such as treatment status categories: untreated, treated, previously treated but recurring fibroid, or untreated with previously failed treatment attempts. Individual categories may result in changes to the visual representation of the fibroid icon 216. For example, Figure 4 As shown, the color-coded representation of the fibroid icon 217T can indicate a treated fibroid, while the fibroid icon 219U can indicate an untreated fibroid. The user can interact with the fibroid category before, during, and / or after the treatment process. In some embodiments, the user can manually change the fibroid icon 216 to modify the treatment status of the fibroid icon 216 from "untreated" to "treated" after the fibroid is treated. Optionally, the system can automatically modify the treatment status of the fibroid icon 216 based on the treatment data received from the treatment device. The change in treatment status can automatically change the visual representation of the fibroid icon 216 to appropriately indicate the updated fibroid treatment status. In some embodiments, the category of untreated fibroids can issue a warning or alarm to the user related to the fibroid. If the fibroid is treated a second time, for example because the first treatment cannot capture the entire fibroid or a portion of the fibroid to be treated, the fibroid icon 216 can change to a third color with a treatment amount indicator (e.g., "2"), combinations thereof, and the like.

[0099] IV. Sample Treatment Report

[0100] As discussed earlier, in Figure 1 At block 122, the system may automatically generate a treatment report 600, 700 after the treatment process is terminated, such as Figure 6-7 The user can interact with the treatment report button 214 to instruct the system to generate a treatment report 600. For example, Figure 4After the fibroid is treated at the time 217T, the user clicks the treatment report button 214 to generate a Figure 6 Report 600, and can be found at Figure 5 After all fibroids have been treated at the time, the user clicks the treatment report button 214 to generate a Figure 7 Report 700.

[0101] The treatment reports 600, 700 may detail treatment information obtained during the treatment process. For example, the treatment reports 600, 700 may include information related to fibroid location, estimated fibroid size, fibroid treatment status, number of fibroids, fibroid treatment sequence, ultrasound device information (e.g., ultrasound device serial number), ultrasound transducer angle, ablation device information (e.g., ablation device serial number), injection needle deployment depth, electrode deployment length, planned fibroid size, ablation data, ablation data, ablation treatment volume, ablation treatment area, ablation time, ablation temperature, electrode and / or tissue impedance, RF power, RF temperature, time-temperature curve, time-RF power curve, ablation safety zone distance, photos and / or screenshots of the imaging field, treatment process information, treatment time, treatment length, treatment date, patient data, attending physician and / or nurse, user and / or physician notes, and other fibroid and / or treatment information.

[0102] Figure 6 An example treatment report 600 is shown. In some embodiments, the treatment report 600 can include the fibroid map interface 204 and a separate fibroid report 602. For example, Figure 6 As shown, the treatment process may be limited to a single fibroid. In this example, the treatment report 600 may include only one fibroid report 602. The report may include information about all mapped fibroids, only the treated fibroids (e.g., Figure 6 The report may include warning signs associated with the fibroids (e.g., red text indicating that the treatment time is not commensurate with the estimated size). Figure 7 As shown, treatment report 700 may include multiple fibroid reports 702 .

[0103] In some embodiments, the treatment report 600, 700 and / or fibroid report 602, 702 may be exported to one or more databases. The system may export the report 600, 700 via a wired and / or wireless connection.

[0104] V. Exploration process

[0105] The interactive treatment mapping and planning system may include a preliminary exploration process. The system may enable a user to more effectively gather fibroid information during the exploration process, construct a fibroid map that provides a visual representation of the gathered fibroid information, and generate an exploration report.

[0106] Fig. 9 A flowchart depicting an illustrative operation of a preliminary exploration process is shown. In various embodiments, fewer blocks or additional blocks may be included in the process, or the process may be performed in a manner similar to that described in the example of FIG. Fig. 9 The various blocks are executed in a different order than shown. In an embodiment, Fig. 9 One or more blocks in can be Figure 8 The illustrated interactive treatment mapping and planning system 800 performs or is implemented in the interactive treatment mapping and planning system 800 .

[0107] At block 902, various fibroid data may be identified during a preliminary exploration procedure performed by a diagnostic test such as transcervical uterine ultrasound, laparoscopic ultrasound, or intrauterine ultrasound. At block 904, the system may receive fibroid data from an imaging device.

[0108] In some instances, at block 902, diagnostic device placement and / or position data may be identified during the preliminary exploration process. The interactive treatment mapping and planning system may utilize any structure, device, method, or feature described herein related to the treatment device. For example, the diagnostic device may include one or more sensors to measure the positioning and orientation of the diagnostic device in three-dimensional space. The diagnostic device may transmit its positioning and / or orientation information to the interactive treatment planning and mapping system. The system may incorporate the positioning and orientation information into a user interface for display to the user. The method may end after such automatic mapping.

[0109] At block 906, a display is generated (and / or may be used to generate and display) similar to the above referenced Figure 2-5 The user interface of the fibroid mapping interface of the previously described user interface and fibroid mapping interface. The fibroid mapping interface can be constructed completely automatically based on the received data, completely by the user or a combination thereof. For example, the mapping interface can be automatically filled based on the received data and then manipulated by the user. In various embodiments, the system creates a visual representation of the fibroid data on the generated user interface, including, for example, a description of the fibroid, the location of the fibroid, the type of fibroid (e.g., intramural, submucosal, subserosal, pedunculated submucosal, pedunculated subserosal), the estimated size of the fibroid, the state before the treatment of the fibroid, the number of fibroids, the order of fibroid treatment, and other fibroid information. In some embodiments, the system creates a visual representation of the diagnostic device data on the generated user interface, including, for example, positioning, orientation, motion, and / or other device information.

[0110] Figures 10A-10D An example of a diagnostic device 1002 and a fibroid map interface 1004 is shown. The fibroid map interface 1004 can utilize any of the structures, devices, methods, or features described herein with respect to the interactive treatment mapping and planning system. In some instances, the system can receive fibroid data from the diagnostic device 1002 to automatically populate the fibroid map interface 1004 with the fibroid information. Through the exploration process, the diagnostic device 1002 can transmit the fibroid information (e.g., fibroid location) to the system for input into the fibroid map interface 1004. For example, according to certain devices described herein, the transmission of the fibroid information can be based at least in part on sensor data (e.g., providing positioning and / or orientation information). After locating a first fibroid, the system can automatically populate the fibroid map interface 1004 with the fibroid information. For example, as Fig. 10A and Fig. 10B As shown, the diagnostic device 1002 can identify fibroid 1 and transmit fibroid information to allow the system to display fibroid icon 1 on the fibroid map interface 1004. In some embodiments, the diagnostic device 1002 can identify multiple fibroids and transmit multiple fibroid information to be displayed on the fibroid map interface 1004. Fig. 10C and Fig. 10D As shown, in some examples, the diagnostic device 1002 can identify a fibroid 2 and transmit fibroid information to allow the system to display a fibroid icon 2 on the fibroid map interface 1004. As described herein, the system can generate fibroid information by aggregating information from diagnostic devices.

[0111] At block 908, the system determines whether the exploration process has terminated. As shown by arrow 910, if the exploration process has not terminated, the operation can continue to identify additional fibroids. For example, referring to Figure 3 , the fibroid icon 217 may be generated on a first pass of blocks 902, 904, 906, 908, and then a second icon may be generated on a second pass of blocks 902, 904, 906, 908, etc. At each block 906, the fibroid icon from that pass and the previous pass may be updated. If the exploration process has terminated, the process proceeds to block 912.

[0112] At block 912, the system can automatically generate a survey report after the survey process is terminated. The report can detail the survey information obtained during the survey process. For example, the report can include information about the fibroid, the imaging device (e.g., an ultrasound transducer), imaging parameters, the date and / or time of the survey process, and other information. The survey report can include automatic and / or manual treatment plan recommendations (e.g., marking fibroid icons based on the recommended treatment order rather than the order in which the fibroids were diagnosed).
