An embodiment of the present application discloses a method, an apparatus, a smart terminal, and a storage medium for obtaining a serial number. Among them, the method includes: obtaining a target session message to be processed from a session message; when the message type of the target session message is a shared picture with QR code information, obtaining its corresponding file stream, parsing the file stream, obtaining the corresponding QR code link, using the QR code link as the target processing link, determining whether the target processing link is a short link, if so, obtaining the link domain name of the target processing link, determining whether the link domain name matches the domain name in the preset link domain names, if so, redirecting the target processing link to obtain the long link of the target processing link, and obtaining the serial number of the target session message according to the regular expression and the long link of the target processing link.
