The proposed method utilizes a forward-scattering surface target scattering model to provide a reference signal, and then performs correlation processing between the reference signal and the target echo, theoretically achieving optimal imaging resolution. Since it does not employ slant-range approximation, this method is applicable to any relative positional relationship between the target and the radar, thus eliminating phase errors caused by the target obliquely crossing the baseline. This offers an advantage over traditional large diffraction angle algorithms when the target does not perpendicularly cross the baseline.
