Description

Technical Field

[0001] This invention relates to the technical field of wastewater treatment systems. Specifically, this invention relates to an anti-clogging auxiliary flushing device for a vacuum wastewater pipeline in a civil aircraft wastewater system. Through corresponding control methods, wastewater residue is detected, and the vacuum wastewater pipeline is flushed to prevent clogging caused by residue, drying, and scale buildup in the wastewater pipeline after each toilet flush cycle, which could lead to the failure of the wastewater treatment system and affect aircraft operations. Background Technology

[0002] The main principle of the aircraft's wastewater treatment system is to use the negative pressure created between the wastewater treatment system and the cabin to pump wastewater from the toilet and transport it to the wastewater tank. When performing a toilet flush cycle, the user first presses the toilet flush button, then the toilet drain valve opens, and wastewater is drawn into the wastewater delivery pipeline along with cabin air and transported to the wastewater tank. After a few seconds, the toilet drain valve closes, and the flush cycle ends.

[0003] Current single-flush-and-cycle toilet technology has several drawbacks. A research paper on the reliability of wastewater piping for a certain aircraft model points out that during actual operation of the fleet, vacuum toilets repeatedly failed due to sewage pipe blockage, severely impacting airline service quality and aircraft operation. Inspection of the main blockage pipe revealed severe scale buildup on the inner wall, with some sections exceeding 10mm in thickness. The average number of toilet blockages was 32.1 per year, with a maximum of 42, resulting in significant maintenance costs and increased overall expenses.

[0004] The reasons for this are threefold: First, the toilet flushing cycle is usually set to a fixed sequence and cannot be adjusted according to the amount of wastewater in the pipes. When there is a large amount of waste, some wastewater remains in the wastewater pipes and quickly dries on the pipe walls, forming scale. Over time, the scale accumulates. Second, after a blockage occurs, pouring crushed ice into the toilet and performing a flushing cycle does not soften or break down the scale, as the ice is of similar hardness to the scale. Third, during scheduled checks, the toilet is removed, and a circulation pump is connected to the pipes to allow the cleaning solution to circulate for 4-8 hours. While this method flushes the pipes, it is time-consuming and, due to the lack of scale detection, the cleaning is not thorough enough.

[0005] Currently, there are no effective measures for foreign models to address the issues of wastewater residue, scale buildup, and easy clogging in vacuum wastewater pipelines. Summary of the Invention

[0006] Based on the aforementioned technical problems in the prior art, this invention aims to provide a wastewater discharge pipeline system and related methods to effectively solve the problems of frequent wastewater residue and scale buildup in pipelines, undetectable residue, and inability to clean wastewater pipelines in a timely manner. [0020] Grubbs outlier analysis is used to determine whether wastewater residue has occurred in each section of the pipeline.

[0021] According to a preferred embodiment of the waste discharge pipeline system of the present invention, a venting device is provided at the upstream end of the waste discharge main pipe. The venting device is configured to connect the inside and outside of the waste discharge main pipe when the plurality of pressure sensing devices are working, so as to allow airflow to be generated in the waste discharge main pipe.

[0022] According to a preferred embodiment of the waste discharge pipeline system of the present invention, the auxiliary flushing device is located downstream of the corresponding waste generating device on the waste discharge branch pipe, and is used to perform auxiliary flushing to the waste discharge main pipe via the corresponding waste discharge branch pipe.

[0023] According to a preferred embodiment of the waste discharge pipeline system of the present invention, the auxiliary flushing device includes an air intake component and / or a cleaning agent dispensing component, wherein the air intake component is used to introduce external air for auxiliary flushing, and the cleaning agent dispensing component is used to dispense cleaning agent into the waste discharge branch pipe for auxiliary flushing.

[0025] The cleaning agent dispensing assembly includes a cleaning agent container with a cleaning agent replenishment port and a cleaning agent dispensing pump.

[0026] The present invention also relates to a method for auxiliary flushing using the waste discharge pipeline system described above, the method comprising the following steps:

[0027] The presence of residual contaminants in the waste discharge main is detected by a residual contaminant detection device installed along the waste discharge main.

[0028] If a section of the main waste discharge pipe is found to contain residual contaminants, then at least the auxiliary flushing device upstream of the upstreammost section containing the contaminants will be activated to perform auxiliary flushing.

[0029] According to a preferred embodiment of the method of the present invention, the detection step begins 10 seconds after the normal flushing cycle of the waste generating device ends.

[0030] According to a preferred embodiment of the method of the present invention, if a pipe section with residual dirt is detected in the waste discharge main, the auxiliary flushing device upstream of each pipe section with residual dirt is actuated to perform auxiliary flushing.

[0031] In summary, this invention proposes a vacuum wastewater pipeline auxiliary flushing device and control method. Firstly, it has a wastewater residue detection function. By using pressure sensors placed in different pipeline sections to perform piezoresistive measurements of different sections, wastewater residue can be detected. Secondly, it has an auxiliary flushing function. This invention effectively solves the problems of frequent wastewater residue and scale buildup in pipelines, undetectable residue, and inability to clean wastewater pipelines in a timely manner. It effectively prevents scale buildup and blockage in pipelines, thereby reducing aircraft operation and maintenance costs. Attached Figure Description

The air intake assembly 610 may also include a ventilation structure for airflow. [0079] A venting device 700 may preferably be provided at the upstream end of the waste discharge main 100. The venting device 700 is configured to connect the inside and outside of the waste discharge main 100 when multiple pressure sensing devices are operating, so as to allow airflow within the waste discharge main 100. The venting device 700 may include, but is not limited to, an electromagnetic venting valve.

[0080] The waste discharge pipeline system 10 of the present invention may further include a control module 800 for controlling the operation of various components. The control module 800 may have data processing functions for executing the control algorithm of the auxiliary flushing device. The control module 800 may output the ventilation device switch command of the auxiliary flushing device 600, output the cleaning agent dosing command, receive pressure sensor signals for pressure resistance measurement and analysis, perform auxiliary flushing logic judgment, and store and retrieve data.

[0081] The following is for reference Figure 3 The present invention describes in detail a method for auxiliary flushing using a waste discharge pipeline system 10, the method comprising the following steps:

[0082] A method for detecting whether there is residual waste in the waste discharge main pipe 100 using a residual waste detection device 500. Specifically, the residual waste detection device 500 installed along the waste discharge main pipe 100 detects whether there is residual waste in the waste discharge main pipe 100.

[0083] If residual contaminants are detected, the auxiliary flushing device 600 is controlled to perform auxiliary flushing on the main pipeline. Specifically, if a section of the waste discharge main pipe 100 is found to contain residual contaminants, the auxiliary flushing device 600 upstream of the upstreammost section containing the contaminants is activated to perform auxiliary flushing.

[0084] The detection step begins some time after the normal flushing cycle of the waste-generating equipment 400 has ended, for example, 5 to 10 seconds, preferably 10 seconds. This time length can be determined according to actual needs and will not be elaborated here.

[0085] If a section of the waste discharge main 100 is found to contain residual contaminants, the auxiliary flushing device 600 upstream of each section containing residual contaminants will be activated to perform auxiliary flushing.

[0086] The method for detecting whether dirt residue has occurred in the detection pipeline includes:

[0087] Step 1: Turn on the ventilation device 700 at the front end of the residual dirt detection device 500.

[0088] Step 2: Continuously measure the pressure value using several pressure sensors distributed along the main pipeline of the vacuum wastewater pipeline.

[0089] Step 3: After the above steps 1 and 2 continue for a certain period of time, for example 3 to 6 seconds, preferably 4 seconds, close the front ventilation device 700 and the sensor stops measuring data.

[0090] Step 4: Data processing is performed through the control module 800. Specifically, the pressure sensor data is analyzed to determine whether there is any residue in the main pipeline of the vacuum wastewater pipeline, and in which section of the pipeline the residue occurs.

[0091] The method for analyzing and determining whether wastewater residue occurs in the main pipeline of the vacuum wastewater pipeline and in which section of the pipeline the residue occurs may include:

[0092] The unit pressure difference in the pipeline between two adjacent sensors is calculated as follows:

[0093]

[0094] In the formula: Δp is the unit pressure difference in the pipeline;

[0095] P1 and P2 are the measured pressure values of two adjacent pressure sensors;

[0096] L is the length of the main pipeline between two adjacent pressure sensors;

[0097] δ is the pipeline variation coefficient, which is adjusted according to the degree of pipeline curvature.

[0098] Methods for determining whether there is residual contaminants, such as wastewater residue, in a section of pipeline:

[0099] Determine whether the following inequalities are true:

[0100]

[0101] Where: Δpi is the unit pressure difference of the i-th segment of the waste discharge main pipe;

[0102] The average unit pressure difference across all sections of the main waste discharge pipe;

[0103] g(n,α) is obtained by looking up the Grubbs critical value table using the total number of pipe segments n and the confidence level α (obtained from experiments);

[0104] σ(Δp) is the standard deviation of the unit pressure difference of each pipeline in the main waste discharge pipe.

[0105] If the unit pressure difference of a certain section of pipeline satisfies the above inequality, it is determined that the section of pipeline is blocked. If it does not satisfy the inequality, then the section of pipeline has no dirt residue or blockage.

[0106] In the formula: Δpi is the unit pressure difference of the i-th pipeline segment.

[0107] If contaminants are found to remain in a section of the pipeline during the above steps, the control module 800 sends an auxiliary flushing command to the auxiliary flushing module upstream of that section of the pipeline, based on the location of the contaminant. The method for controlling the auxiliary flushing module to perform auxiliary flushing of the main pipeline includes:

[0108] Step 1: The control module 800 sends an auxiliary flushing command to the corresponding auxiliary flushing module based on the pipeline where residue has occurred.

[0109] Step 2: The auxiliary flushing device 600 is turned on, and the cleaning agent dispensing device dispenses cleaning agent into the pipeline.

[0110] Step 3: After Step 2 has been running for a certain period of time, such as 3 to 6 seconds, preferably 4 seconds, stop running.

[0111] In the method of auxiliary flushing device 600 for auxiliary flushing of the main pipeline, the method for determining the auxiliary flushing device corresponding to the pipeline where wastewater residue occurs in step 1 is as follows: search from the pipeline section where wastewater residue occurs towards the machine head side, and the first auxiliary flushing device found is the corresponding auxiliary flushing device.

[0112] Upon receiving a command from control module 800, the corresponding auxiliary flushing device opens and closes. When open, air enters and flows into the pipeline via the control valve. The automatic cleaning agent dispensing component includes a small pump assembly and a cleaning agent replenishment port. The small pump assembly is an electrical component that, upon receiving a signal, pumps a measured amount of cleaning agent into the path. Cleaning agent can be replenished internally via the cleaning agent replenishment port along the flight path to refill consumables.

[0113] In addition, when the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the machine is less than 2.54 psig, the vacuum pump can be turned on during auxiliary flushing.

[0114] In summary, this invention proposes an auxiliary flushing architecture for detecting residual wastewater and assisting in the flushing of wastewater pipelines. After a toilet flushing cycle, the auxiliary flushing device installed after the toilet drain valve is activated. When the auxiliary flushing device's control valve opens, air enters the pipeline, forming high-speed air under negative pressure. Simultaneously, the auxiliary flushing device automatically dispenses cleaning agent. This axial high-speed air-to-cleaning mixture then assists in flushing the remaining, undried wastewater in the vacuum wastewater pipeline, preventing scale buildup and blockages.

[0115] This invention also proposes an auxiliary flushing control method for preventing blockages in civil aircraft vacuum wastewater pipelines, which issues flushing commands to specific pipe sections where wastewater residue is located after wastewater residue detection. The technical advantages are: identifying pipe sections with wastewater residue and performing targeted flushing; focusing more on flushing wastewater residue; avoiding the waste of resources from blind flushing of the entire pipe section; more effectively achieving wastewater-free pipelines; preventing wastewater drying, scale buildup, and blockages; and improving the reliability of the wastewater system.

[0116] Scale buildup and blockage in wastewater pipelines of wastewater treatment systems is a key technical problem in the operation of wastewater systems and can be applied to future development directions such as conceptual and long-term technologies.

[0117] In summary, the wastewater discharge pipeline system and usage control method of the present invention effectively solve the problems of frequent wastewater residue and scale buildup, undetectable residue, and inability to flush wastewater pipelines in a timely manner. It effectively prevents wastewater residue and scale buildup in pipelines, reduces pipeline blockage rate, saves airline operating costs and a large amount of maintenance costs, improves system comfort, and enhances aircraft competitiveness.
