Description

Technical Field

[0001] The invention relates to a blood sugar detection module, in particular to a blood sugar detection module which combines an electromagnet structure and adopts a polarized light optical component. Background Art

[0002] In recent years, light sources that can emit polarized light have been applied to non-invasive blood glucose detection modules. For example, Chinese invention patent publication number CN1676100A discloses a blood glucose detector. Since glucose in blood glucose has the characteristic of optical rotation, it uses a single polarized light source to rotate the polarization of the light source by an angle after passing through human tissue, and then cooperates with a Faraday rotator to rotate the light source to another specific angle through the Faraday effect. Finally, the penetration intensity of the light source at different angles is received and analyzed by a photosensitive element to obtain the blood glucose concentration of the sample. The Faraday rotator includes a magnet and a magnetic crystal. However, in order for the Faraday rotator to provide the effect of rotating the light source angle, the existing blood glucose detection module using polarized light detection technology must be equipped with a coil structure that can generate an induced magnetic field to surround the outside of the Faraday rotator. The coil structure of this design makes the system end volume become bulky, resulting in the entire blood glucose detection module being unable to meet the requirements of miniaturization and difficult to be applied to wearable devices.

[0003] Therefore, how to design a blood glucose detection module that can improve the above-mentioned problems is indeed a topic worthy of study. Summary of the invention

[0051] In this article, the terms "first" or "second" and the like ordinal numbers are mainly used to distinguish or refer to the same or similar elements or structures, and do not necessarily imply the order of these elements or structures in space or time. It should be understood that in some cases or configurations, the ordinal numbers can be used interchangeably without affecting the implementation of the present invention.

For example, an element or structure containing multiple elements is not limited to only those elements listed herein, but may include other elements that are not explicitly listed but are generally inherent to the element or structure.

[0053] Please refer to Figure 1 and Figure 2 ,in Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of a first embodiment of a micro polarized light blood glucose detection module of the present invention, Figure 2 FIG. 1 is a top view of the first embodiment of the micro polarized light blood glucose detection module of the present invention. Figure 1 and Figure 2 As shown, the micro polarized light blood glucose detection module 1 of the present invention includes an electromagnet component 10, a light emitting component 20 and a light receiving component 30, and the light emitting component 20 and the light receiving component 30 are arranged on the electromagnet component 10. The electromagnet component 10 mainly generates an induced magnetic field by supplying current. The light emitting component 20 mainly generates polarized light to irradiate the skin. The light receiving component 30 mainly receives the polarized light transmitted back after diffuse reflection from the skin.

[0054] The electromagnet assembly 10 includes a metal part 11 and a coil 12. The metal part 11 serves as the basic structural part of the electromagnet assembly 10, and the metal part 11 is a three-dimensional block structure. In terms of appearance design, the lateral outer contour of the metal part 11 can be circular, elliptical, rectangular or other shapes. For example, the present embodiment is elliptical, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In the present invention, the metal part 11 can be made of soft magnetic materials (such as iron, iron-cobalt alloy, iron-silicon steel, iron-nickel alloy, etc.) or hard magnetic materials (such as ferrite, neodymium iron boron, etc.) according to different needs. The metal part 11 includes a receiving portion 111, a lateral surface 112, and a first surface 113 and a second surface 114 opposite to each other. The first surface 113 and the second surface 114 are two planes parallel to each other, and the lateral surface 112 is located between the first surface 113 and the second surface 114. The accommodating portion 111 forms an accommodating space for arranging the light emitting component 20 and the light receiving component 30, and the accommodating portion 111 is located within the range surrounded by the lateral surface 112 (or the lateral outer contour of the metal component 11). In other words, the surroundings of the accommodating portion 111 are all spaced apart from the lateral surface 112. In this embodiment, the accommodating portion 111 is a groove that is recessed from the first surface 113 toward the second surface 114, and the depth D of the groove is less than the height H of the metal component 11. In other words, the bottom surface of the groove-shaped accommodating portion 111 is spaced apart from the second surface 114.

[0055] The coil 12 is wound around the lateral surface 112 of the metal part 11. The total number of windings formed by the coil 12 on the lateral surface 112 is between 1 and 300. As the total number of windings of the coil 12 is different, the current passed through the coil will also be adjusted accordingly. Generally, the current will be between 1 and 100 mA (milliamperes). In this embodiment, the total number of windings of the coil 12 is about 50, but the present invention is not limited thereto. In addition, the coil 12 can use metal wires of different wire diameters according to the design. For example, an enameled wire with a wire diameter of AWG38 (equivalent to a wire diameter of 0.102 mm) can be used, or an electric wire with a wire diameter of AWG33 to 46 (equivalent to a wire diameter of 0.18 to 0.041 mm) can be used, and a current of 15 mA is passed through the coil to generate a corresponding induced magnetic field, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0056] The light emitting component 20 is embedded in the accommodating portion 111 of the metal component 11, and the light emitting component 20 includes a first substrate 21, a light emitting element 22 and a first polarizing element 23. The first substrate 21 serves as the basic structural component of the light emitting component 20, and the first substrate 21 can be used to carry the light emitting element 22, the first polarizing element 23 and other related components. The light emitting element 22 is disposed on the first substrate 21, and the light emitting element 22 serves as a light source to emit light. The light emitting element 22 can be electrically connected to the first substrate 21 through a metal wire. In the present invention, the light emitting element 22 uses a laser diode, such as a vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL), but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the light emitting element 22 can also use a light emitting diode (LED) or other types of light sources. The wavelength range corresponding to the light emitting element 22 is approximately between 500nm and 1800nm. For example, in one embodiment of the present invention, the wavelength corresponding to the light emitting element 22 can be 650nm. The first polarizing element 23 is disposed on the emission path of the light emitted by the light emitting element 22, for example, directly above the light emitting element 22, so that the light generates linearly polarized light after passing through the first polarizing element 23. In the present invention, the first polarizing element 23 is made of polymer or metal material, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0057] In one embodiment of the present invention, the light emitting component 20 further includes a first light shielding structure 24. The first light shielding structure 24 is disposed on the first substrate 21 and is located around the light emitting element 22. The first light shielding structure 24 is mainly used to block the lateral scattering of the light emitted by the light emitting element 22, so that the light can be concentrated and emitted toward the first polarizing element 23. The first light shielding structure 24 is made of non-transparent epoxy, such as packaging black glue, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0058] In one embodiment of the present invention, the light emitting assembly 20 further includes a first cover plate 25. The first cover plate 25 is stacked on the first polarizing element 23, and the side of the first cover plate 25 facing away from the first polarizing element 23 (i.e., the side facing the skin) forms a light emitting surface 26 of the light emitting assembly 20. The first cover plate 25 serves as a protective member of the light emitting assembly 20, and the first cover plate 25 is made of light-transmissive glass or plastic material, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0059] In addition, the light emitting component 20 may also fill packaging materials between the first substrate 21, the first polarizing element 23 and the first light shielding structure 24 to form a first packaging structure 27. The first packaging structure 27 is used to package and fix the light emitting element 22 and related metal wires. The first packaging structure 27 is made of light-transmissive epoxy, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0060] In terms of design, the light emitting component 20 is positioned after being embedded in the receiving portion 111 of the metal component 11, and the light emitting surface 26 of the light emitting component 20 and the first surface 113 of the metal component 11 are coplanar, thereby maintaining the flatness and consistency of the appearance surface of the overall structure.

[0061] The light receiving component 30 includes a second substrate 31, a light detecting element 32, a second polarizing element 33 and a magnetic crystal 34. The second substrate 31 serves as the basic structural component of the light receiving component 30, and the second substrate 31 can be used to carry the light detecting element 32, the second polarizing element 33, the magnetic crystal 34 and other related components. The light detecting element 32 is disposed on the second substrate 31, and the light detecting element 32 is used to receive reflected light for subsequent detection. The light detecting element 32 can be electrically connected to the second substrate 31 through a metal wire. In the present invention, the light detecting element 32 adopts a photo detector (Photo Detector), but the present invention is not limited to this. The second polarizing element 33 is disposed on the incident path of the reflected light received by the light detecting element 32, for example, directly above the light detecting element 32. In the present invention, the second polarizing element 33 is made of a polymer or metal material, but the present invention is not limited to this. The magnetic crystal 34 is stacked on the second polarizing element 33 and is also located on the incident path of the reflected light received by the light detecting element 32, for example, directly above the light detecting element 32, so that the reflected light passes through the magnetic crystal 34 and the second polarizing element 33 in sequence before being received by the light detecting element 32. The magnetic crystal 34 is mainly used to change the polarization angle of the reflected light, and the magnetic crystal 34 can rotate the crystal through an external magnetic field. Therefore, the magnetic crystal 34 is made of a material that can produce a magnetization phenomenon under the influence of an external magnetic field. In the present invention, the magnetic crystal 34 uses a magneto-optical Faraday rotator garnet crystal as a rotating crystal for the polarization angle of the reflected light, but the magnetic crystal 34 can also use other crystals that can apply a variable magnetic field or electric field to control the crystal to rotate the polarization angle of the incident light, such as liquid crystal.

[0062] In one embodiment of the present invention, the light receiving component 30 further includes a second light shielding structure 35. The second light shielding structure 35 is disposed on the second substrate 31 and is located around the light detection element 32. The second light shielding structure 35 is mainly used to block the lateral scattering of the reflected light after passing through the magnetic crystal 34 and the second polarizing element 33 in sequence, so that the reflected light can be concentrated and received by the light detection element 32; and to prevent ambient light from entering the light detection element 32 from the side. The second light shielding structure 35 is made of non-transparent epoxy, such as packaging black glue, but the present invention is not limited to this.

[0063] In one embodiment of the present invention, the light receiving assembly 30 further includes a second cover plate 36. The second cover plate 36 is stacked on the magnetic crystal 34, and the side of the second cover plate 36 facing away from the magnetic crystal 34 (i.e., the side facing the skin) forms a light receiving surface 37 of the light receiving assembly 30. The second cover plate 36 serves as a protective member of the light receiving assembly 30, and the second cover plate 36 is made of light-transmissive glass or plastic material, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0064] In addition, the light receiving component 30 can also fill the packaging material between the second substrate 31, the second polarizing element 33 and the second light shielding structure 35 to form a second packaging structure 38. The second packaging structure 38 is used to package and fix the light detection element 32 and related metal wires. The second packaging structure 38 is made of a light-transmissive epoxy resin, but the present invention is not limited thereto.

[0065] In terms of design, the light receiving component 30 is positioned after being embedded in the receiving portion 111 of the metal component 11, and the light receiving surface 37 of the light receiving component 30 and the first surface 113 of the metal component 11 are coplanar, thereby maintaining the flatness and consistency of the appearance surface of the overall structure. In other words, the light emitting surface 26 of the light emitting component 20, the light receiving surface 37 of the light receiving component 30 and the first surface 113 of the metal component 11 are located on the same plane.

[0066] In actual operation, the micro polarized light blood glucose detection module 1 of the present invention first emits light through the light emitting element 22 of the light emitting component 20, and the light will sequentially pass through the first polarizing element 23 and the first cover plate 25 and produce polarized light before arriving to perform corresponding blood glucose detection on the glucose in human tissue. Afterwards, the light reflected from the glucose in the skin will sequentially pass through the second cover plate 36, the magnetic crystal 34 and the second polarizing element 33 of the light receiving component 30 and then be received by the light detection element 32 to perform subsequent signal analysis and processing for blood glucose detection. Among them, by passing current through the coil 12 of the electromagnet component 10, the electromagnet component 10 generates an induced magnetic field, which in turn affects the magnetic crystal 34 to produce crystal rotation to change the angle of the polarization direction of the light source.

[0067] In order to achieve miniaturized size design, in the present embodiment, it is assumed that the length and width of the light emitting component 20 and the light receiving component 30 are both x mm, and the height is h mm. The major axis corresponding to the metal part 11 with an elliptical lateral outer contour is 3x mm, and the minor axis is between 2x mm and 3x mm. The height H of the metal part 11 is not less than h mm, and the length of the accommodating portion 111 of the metal part 11 is x+0.1 mm, the width is 2x+0.1 mm, and the height is h+0.1 mm. For example, when x is 5 mm, the overall volume of the micro-polarized light blood glucose detection module 1 of the present invention can meet the requirements of miniaturization, which is advantageous for application in wearable devices, and can perform blood glucose detection on the skin surface of any part of the body.

[0068] Please refer to Figure 3 FIG. 2 is a schematic diagram of a second embodiment of the micro polarized light blood glucose detection module of the present invention. This embodiment is a variation of the first embodiment described above, and mainly changes the structure of the receiving portion of the metal member. Figure 3 As shown, in this embodiment, the receiving portion 111 of the metal member 11 of the electromagnet assembly 10 of the micro polarized light blood glucose detection module 1a of the present invention is a through hole that passes from the first surface 113 to the second surface 114. In terms of design, the height H of the metal member 11 is equal to the height of the light emitting assembly 20 and the light receiving assembly 30. When the light emitting assembly 20 and the light receiving assembly 30 are embedded in the receiving portion 111 of the metal member 11, they are positioned. At this time, the light emitting surface 26 of the light emitting assembly 20, the light receiving surface 37 of the light receiving assembly 30 and the first surface 113 of the metal member 11 are coplanar, and the bottom surface of the first substrate 21 of the light emitting assembly 20, the bottom surface of the second substrate 31 of the light receiving assembly 30 and the second surface 114 of the metal member 11 are coplanar, thereby not only maintaining the flatness and consistency of the appearance surface of the overall structure, but also reducing the height H of the metal member 11 compared to the aforementioned first embodiment to further meet the thinness requirements and improve the flexibility of module setting.
