[0017] In the above-described fuel cell stack device, for example, temperature variations may occur during power generation, and there is still room for improvement in terms of improving cell performance.

[0018] Therefore, it is desired to provide an electrochemical cell device, a module, and a module housing device that can improve performance.

[0019] Embodiments of the electrochemical cell device, module, and module housing device disclosed in the present application will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. The present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described below.

[0020] In addition, the drawings are schematic, and it should be noted that the relationship between the dimensions of each element, the ratio of each element, etc. may be different from the actual. Furthermore, the drawings may also include portions where the relationship between the dimensions, the ratio, etc. are different from each other.

[0021] [First embodiment]

[0022] First, refer to Figure 1 to Figure 3 As the electrochemical cell involved in the first embodiment, a solid oxide fuel cell is used as an example for explanation. The electrochemical cell device may include a cell stack including a plurality of electrochemical cells. The electrochemical cell device including a plurality of electrochemical cells is simply referred to as a cell stack device.

[0023] Figure 1 It is a cross-sectional view showing an example of the electrochemical cell according to the first embodiment. Figure 2 yes Figure 1 The enlarged view of area A is shown. Figure 1 , Figure 2 In the drawings, some of the structures of the electrochemical cells are exaggerated, and some are omitted. Hereinafter, the electrochemical cells may be simply referred to as cells.

[0024] like Figure 1As shown, the electrochemical cell device 10 has a plurality of cells 1 and end plates 16 and 17. The plurality of cells 1 are arranged side by side in the Z-axis direction which is the first direction. The end plate 16 is located at the end of the electrochemical cell device 10 on the positive side of the Z-axis, and the end plate 17 is located at the end of the electrochemical cell device 10 on the negative side of the Z-axis. The end plates 16 and 17 press and fix the plurality of cells 1 in the stacking direction. The electrochemical cell device 10 according to the present embodiment is a flat cell stack device in which a plurality of flat cell 1 are stacked. In addition, Figure 1 , an electrochemical cell device 10 is shown in which six cells 1 are stacked, but the number of cells 1 is not limited thereto.

[0025] The cell 1 includes a first current collector 2 , an element unit 3 , a second current collector 9 , a sealing member 11 , a fixing member 13 , and a support 18 .

[0026] The first current collector 2 is located on the negative Z-axis side of the element portion 3. The first current collector 2 has a gas flow path 2a through which fuel gas flows. The first current collector 2 allows the gas flowing through the gas flow path 2a to pass through the fuel electrode 5. The first current collector 2 has electrical conductivity and collects electricity generated in the element portion 3 to the interconnector 4.

[0027] The material of the first current collector 2 may include, for example, an iron group metal component and an inorganic oxide. The iron group metal component may be, for example, Ni (nickel) and / or NiO. The inorganic oxide may be, for example, a specific rare earth element oxide. The rare earth element oxide may include, for example, one or more rare earth elements selected from Sc, Y, La, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy, and Yb. The material of the first current collector 2 may be, for example, a metal or an alloy. For example, chromium-containing ferrite stainless steel or the like has electrical conductivity, and its strength is not easily reduced even when in contact with a fuel gas such as a hydrogen-containing gas.

[0028] The second current collector 9 is located on the positive Z-axis side of the element portion 3. The second current collector 9 may have gas permeability. In addition, the second current collector 9 may have a gas flow path through which gas flows. The material of the second current collector 9 may be, for example, a metal or an alloy. For example, chromium-containing ferrite stainless steel or the like is conductive and is difficult to oxidize even when in contact with oxygen-containing gases such as air. The second current collector 9 may have a substrate and a coating layer of a conductive oxide covering the surface of the substrate.

[0029] The element portion 3 includes a fuel electrode 5 , a solid electrolyte layer 6 , an intermediate layer 7 , and an air electrode 8 .

[0030] The fuel electrode 5 is an example of the first electrode connected to the first current collector 2. The material of the fuel electrode 5 can use generally known materials. The fuel electrode 5 can use porous conductive ceramics, for example, ceramics containing ZrO2 in which calcium oxide, magnesium oxide or rare earth element oxide is solid-dissolved, and Ni and / or NiO. The rare earth element oxide can contain a variety of rare earth elements selected from Sc, Y, La, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy and Yb. ZrO2 in which calcium oxide, magnesium oxide or rare earth element oxide is solid-dissolved is sometimes called stabilized zirconia. Stabilized zirconia can also contain partially stabilized zirconia.

[0031] The solid electrolyte layer 6 is an electrolyte, and exchanges ions between the fuel electrode 5 and the air electrode 8. The solid electrolyte layer 6 has a gas barrier property, and thus the fuel gas and the oxygen-containing gas are unlikely to leak.

[0032] The material of the solid electrolyte layer 6 may be ZrO2 in which 3 mol% to 15 mol% of rare earth element oxides are solid-dissolved. The rare earth element oxides may include, for example, one or more rare earth elements selected from Sc, Y, La, Nd, Sm, Gd, Dy, and Yb. The solid electrolyte layer 6 may include, for example, ZrO2 in which Yb, Sc, or Gd is solid-dissolved, CeO2 in which La, Nd, or Yb is solid-dissolved, BaZrO3 in which Sc or Yb is solid-dissolved, or BaCeO3 in which Sc or Yb is solid-dissolved.

[0033] like Figure 2 As shown, the fuel electrode 5 viewed from above in the Z-axis direction may be the same size as the solid electrolyte layer 6. In addition, the fuel electrode 5 may be larger than the solid electrolyte layer 6 or smaller than the solid electrolyte layer 6.

[0034] The air electrode 8 is an example of a second electrode connected to the second current collector 9. The air electrode 8 has gas permeability. The open porosity of the air electrode 8 may be, for example, 20% to 50%, particularly 30% to 50%. The open porosity of the air electrode 8 is sometimes referred to as the porosity of the air electrode 8.

[0035] The material of the air electrode 8 is not particularly limited as long as it is a material generally used in air electrodes. The material of the air electrode 8 may be, for example, a conductive ceramic such as a so-called ABO3 type perovskite oxide.

[0036] The material of the air electrode 8 may be, for example, a composite oxide in which Sr (strontium) and La (lanthanum) coexist at the A site. Examples of such a composite oxide include La x Sr 1-x Co y Fe 1-y O3, La x Sr1-x MnO3, La x Sr 1-x FeO3, La x Sr 1-x CoO3, etc. In addition, x satisfies 0 < x < 1, and y satisfies 0 < y < 1.

[0037] In addition, the intermediate layer 7 functions as a diffusion suppression layer. For example, if Sr (strontium) contained in the air electrode 8 diffuses into the solid electrolyte layer 6, a resistance layer of SrZrO3 is formed in the relevant solid electrolyte layer 6. The intermediate layer 7 makes it difficult to form SrZrO3 in the solid electrolyte layer 6 by making it difficult for Sr to diffuse.

[0038] The material of the intermediate layer 7 is not particularly limited as long as it is a material that generally hardly causes diffusion of elements between the air electrode 8 and the solid electrolyte layer 6. The material of the intermediate layer 7 can contain, for example, cerium oxide (CeO2) in which rare earth elements other than Ce (cerium) are solid-solved. As the relevant rare earth elements, for example, Gd (gadolinium), Sm (samarium), etc. can be used. In addition, the element unit 3 may not have the intermediate layer 7.

[0039] In addition, the interconnect 4 is interposed between adjacent single cells 1 among a plurality of single cells 1. The interconnect 4 is located between adjacent single cells 1. The interconnect 4 electrically connects the first current collector 2 of one adjacent single cell 1 and the second current collector 9 of the other single cell 1 in series.

[0040] In addition, the interconnect 4 is dense and hardly causes leakage of the fuel gas flowing in the gas flow path 2a of the first current collector 2 and the oxygen-containing gas flowing outside the first current collector 2. The interconnect 4 can have a relative density of 93% or more, particularly 95% or more.

[0041] As the material of the interconnect 4, metals or alloys such as stainless steel can be used. For example, chromium-containing ferritic stainless steel has conductivity and is neither easily reduced nor easily oxidized even when in contact with fuel gases such as hydrogen-containing gases and oxygen-containing gases such as air.

[0042] In addition, the interconnect 4 can be integrated with the first current collector 2 or the second current collector 9, or the interconnect 4 can also serve as the first current collector 2 or the second current collector 9. The materials of the first current collector 2, the interconnect 4, and the second current collector 9 can be the same or different.

[0043] The seal 11 is located between the solid electrolyte layer 6 and the support 18. The material of the seal 11 can be, for example, a conductive solder such as silver solder. The material of the seal 11 can be, for example, amorphous glass, crystalline glass, etc. with low conductivity. The seal 11 can contain, for example, a heat-resistant insulating oxide such as forsterite. As a result, the seal 11 improves the adhesion between the solid electrolyte layer 6 and the support 18, thereby improving the durability of the electrochemical cell device 10. In addition, the cell 1 may not have the seal 11.

[0044] The fixture 13 fixes the element unit 3 and the support body 18. A material with low conductivity such as glass can be used for the fixture 13. As a specific material of the fixture 13, amorphous glass, particularly crystallized glass, etc. can be used.

[0045] As crystallized glass, for example, any of SiO2-CaO, MgO-B2O3, La2O3-B2O3-MgO, La2O3-B2O3-ZnO, SiO2-CaO-ZnO and other materials can be used, and in particular, SiO2-MgO materials can be used.

[0046] In addition, when there is no sealing member 11 between the element portion 3 and the support body 18, the fixing member 13 may be located between the element portion 3 and the support body 18, or may not be located between the element portion 3 and the support body 18. The larger the contact area between the fixing member 13 and the element portion 3 and the support body 18, the more firmly the element portion 3 and the support body 18 can be fixed.

[0047] The support body 18 supports the element part 3. The support body 18 may be, for example, a plate-shaped metal member along the XY plane. The support body 18 has an opening 18e that penetrates in the thickness direction (Z-axis direction). The relevant opening 18e is covered by the fixing member 13. The support body 18 may be, for example, a separator that partitions the fuel gas atmosphere and the oxygen-containing gas atmosphere in the single cell 1.

[0048] However, in each cell 1 included in the electrochemical cell device 10, the ends in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction are likely to be colder than the center in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction. Therefore, in the element portion 3 near the ends in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, the power generation performance is lowered compared to the element portion 3 located in the center in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction, and there is a concern that the cell performance of the cell 1 as a whole may be lowered.

[0049] Therefore, in the present embodiment, for example, the power generation performance can be improved by making the positions of the fixtures 13 at which the cells 1 are located different. In the present embodiment, the positions of the fixtures 13 in a plan view in the first direction (Z-axis direction) are different.

[0050] Figure 3 1 is a top view showing an example of the arrangement of the fixing member according to the first embodiment. Figure 3 In the figure, for example, some structures such as the interconnector 4 and the support body 18 are omitted from illustration.

[0051] like Figure 2 as well as Figure 3 As shown, the positions of the fixing member 131 of the cell 1a as the first cell and the fixing member 132 of the cell 1b as the second cell are different when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction). Here, the so-called "different positions when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction)" means that a part or all of the fixing member 131 and the fixing member 132 when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction) do not overlap. More specifically, it means that the area ratio of the part where the fixing member 131 or the fixing member 132 is located when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction) is greater than 1%. As Figure 2 as well as Figure 3 As shown in the figure, the distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixing member 13 when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction) is greater for the single cell 1a than for the single cell 1b. The portion where the fixing members 131 and 132 do not overlap when viewed from above can be, for example, Figure 3 As shown, the fixing parts 131 and 132 are arranged all around the center P of the element part 3. In addition, the fixing parts 131 and 132 may be arranged in at least one direction from the center P of the element part 3 in a non-overlapping portion when viewed from above, and the fixing parts 131 and 132 may overlap in other directions.

[0052] In this way, by making the positions of the fixing parts 13 different when the single cell 1a and the single cell 1b are viewed from above, the power generation performance is improved. As a main reason, by making the positions of the fixing parts 13 different when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction), the heat of the single cell 1b, which has a small volume of oxygen-containing gas flowing through it and is difficult to dissipate heat, is easily transferred to the single cell 1a, which has a large volume of oxygen-containing gas flowing through it and is easy to dissipate heat. As a result, the heat dissipation at the center of the single cell 1 in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction is improved. As a result, it is believed that the power generation performance of the single cell 1 as a whole is improved because the temperature of the two ends in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction increases.

[0053] In addition, Figure 1 as well as Figure 2In the embodiment, the case where the fixing members 131 and the fixing members 132 are alternately arranged is taken as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, at least one of the fixing members 13 of each of the plurality of cells 1 may be the fixing member 131 or the fixing member 132. In addition, the cells 1 having the fixing member 131 or the cells 1 having the fixing member 132 may be arranged side by side.

[0054] In addition, Figure 1 as well as Figure 2 In the embodiment, the distances between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13 in the X-axis direction and the Y-axis direction are different as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the distances between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixtures 131 and 132 in the top view may be different only in the X-axis direction and the same in the Y-axis direction.

[0055] Figure 4 1 is a cross-sectional view showing an example of an electrochemical cell device according to the first embodiment. Figure 4 As shown in FIG. 1 , the center of gravity of the inner contour of the fixing member 131 in a plan view may be offset from the center of gravity of the inner contour of the fixing member 132. In this case, the portion where the distance between the fixing member 131 and the center P of the element portion 3 of the single cell 1a is wide and the portion where the distance between the fixing member 132 and the center P of the element portion 3 of the single cell 1b is narrow overlap. As a result, the heat of the portion of the single cell 1b that is difficult to dissipate heat is easily transferred to the portion of the single cell 1a that is easy to dissipate heat, and the power generation performance of the single cell 1 as a whole is improved.

[0056] [Second embodiment]

[0057] In each of the cells 1 stacked in the Z-axis direction (first direction), the two ends in the Z-axis direction tend to be lower in temperature than the center in the Z-axis direction. Therefore, the element portions 3 of the cells 1 located at the two ends in the Z-axis direction have lower power generation performance than the element portions 3 of the cells 1 located at the center in the Z-axis direction, and there is a concern that the power generation performance of the electrochemical cell device 10 as a whole may be lowered.

[0058] Therefore, in this embodiment, for example, the positions of the fixing members 13 of the cells 1 located at both ends in the Z-axis direction and the fixing members 13 of the cells 1 located in the center in the Z-axis direction are different, thereby improving the power generation performance.

[0059] Figure 5 It is a cross-sectional view showing an example of an electrochemical cell device according to the second embodiment. Figure 6 It is a plan view showing an example of arrangement of the fixing tool according to the second embodiment.

[0060] like Figure 5As shown, the electrochemical cell device 10 has fixing members 13a to 13c. The fixing member 13a is provided to the cell 1 located in the center of the first direction among the plurality of cells 1 arranged in the Z-axis direction (first direction). The fixing member 13b is provided to the cell 1 located at both ends in the first direction. The fixing member 13c is provided to the cell 1 located between the cell 1 having the fixing member 13a and the cell 1 having the fixing member 13b.

[0061] The distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13a when viewed from above in the first direction is greater than the distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13b. In addition, the distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13c when viewed from above in the first direction is smaller than the distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13a and greater than the distance between the center P of the element portion 3 and the fixture 13b.

[0062] In this way, by making the distance between the center P of the element part 3 and the fixing member 13 different when viewed from above, the power generation performance is improved. As a main reason, by making the position of the fixing member 13 different when viewed from above in the first direction (Z-axis direction), it becomes easy to dissipate heat in the portion where the volume of the oxygen-containing gas flowing through the single cell 1 located in the center of the Z-axis direction. As a result, the heat dissipation inside the electrochemical single cell device 10 is improved. As a result, it is believed that the temperature of the single cell 1 located at both ends in the Z-axis direction rises, and the power generation performance is improved.

[0063] In addition, Figure 5 as well as Figure 6 In the above description, the case where the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13c when viewed from above is smaller than the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13a and larger than the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13b is taken as an example, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13c when viewed from above may be larger than the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13a, or may be smaller than the distance between the center P of the component part 3 and the fixture 13b.

[0064] [Third Embodiment]

[0065] Figure 7 It is a cross-sectional view showing an example of an electrochemical cell device according to a third embodiment. Figure 7 The electrochemical cell device 10 shown is different from the electrochemical cell devices 10 according to the above-described embodiments in that the cross-sectional shape along the ZX plane is different from the cross-sectional shape along the YZ plane.

[0066] Specifically, in the electrochemical cell device 10 according to the first embodiment, the cross-sectional shape along the YZ plane may be the same as that of the electrochemical cell device 10 according to the second embodiment. In this way, by making the positions of the fixing members 13 of each cell 1 different, the power generation performance of the cell 1 as a whole and the power generation performance of the electrochemical cell device 10 as a whole are improved.

[0067] <Module and module storage device>

[0068] Next, use Figure 8 A module and a module housing device using the electrochemical cell device 10 according to each of the above-described embodiments will be described.

[0069] Figure 8 1 is an exploded perspective view showing an example of a module storage device according to the embodiment. A module storage device 110 according to the present embodiment includes an outer casing 111 , a module 100 , and auxiliary equipment (not shown).

[0070] The module 100 includes a storage container 101 and an electrochemical cell device 10 stored in the storage container 101. In addition, a reformer (not shown) may be disposed above the electrochemical cell device 10. The reformer reforms raw fuel such as natural gas and kerosene to generate fuel gas, and supplies the fuel gas to the cell 1.

[0071] In such a module 100 , as described above, by accommodating the electrochemical cell device 10 with improved power generation performance, it is possible to provide a module 100 with improved performance.

[0072] The auxiliary machine operates the module 100. The module 100 and the auxiliary machine are housed in an outer casing 111. Figure 8 In the figure, a part of the structure is omitted.

[0073] The outer casing 111 of the module storage device 110 has a support 112 and an outer plate 113. The partition plate 114 divides the outer casing 111 into upper and lower areas. The space above the partition plate 114 in the outer casing 111 is a module storage chamber 115 for storing the module 100, and the space below the partition plate 114 in the outer casing 111 is an auxiliary machine storage chamber 116 for storing auxiliary machines of the operating module 100. Figure 8 In the figure, the auxiliary machines accommodated in the auxiliary machine accommodation chamber 116 are omitted.

[0074] The partition plate 114 has an air flow port 117 for allowing air in the auxiliary machine accommodation chamber 116 to flow to the module accommodation chamber 115. The exterior plate 113 constituting the module accommodation chamber 115 has an exhaust port 118 for exhausting air in the module accommodation chamber 115.

[0075] In such a module housing device 110 , as described above, by housing the module 100 with improved performance in the module housing chamber 115 , it is possible to produce a module housing device 110 with improved performance.
