Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to a laminated glass pane comprising a partially applied reflective layer and a shielding layer in combination with an electrically switchable functional film, to a method for producing and using the laminated glass pane, and to a projection device.
[0002] Modern cars are increasingly equipped with so-called head-up displays (HUD's). Using a projector, usually in the area of the instrument panel, an image is projected onto the windshield, where it is reflected and perceived by the driver as a virtual image behind the windshield. Thus, important information can be projected into the driver's field of vision, for example the current driving speed, navigation messages or warnings, which the driver can perceive without having to turn his gaze away from the road. Head-up displays can therefore contribute significantly to increasing traffic safety.
[0003] However, head-up displays often have the problem that the area of the windshield for reflecting the light projected by the projector must have a high transparency of typically at least 70%. The reflected light of the projector is therefore covered by the light from the external environment, which, depending on the light conditions, can lead to a reduced contrast of the virtual image and, therefore, to a poorer visual perception of the driver. In all weather and light conditions, adequate visual perception of safety-related information, such as lane assistance, speed display or the rotational speed of the engine, should be ensured. Therefore, it would be desirable to have a projection device based on head-up display technology in which no undesirable secondary images appear and whose device is relatively easy to implement, with good visibility, display image information with sufficient brightness and contrast. In order to achieve this, it is necessary to increase the contrast in the reflective area of the windshield. For example, an increase in contrast can be achieved by making the background of the reflective area largely or completely opaque. This solution requires that the reflective layer is applied only in a localized limited area of the windshield.
[0004] Applying the metal coating to the glass sheet is usually achieved by sputtering, in particular magnetron sputtering. During sputtering, atoms are released from the target by bombarding the target with ions. The glass sheet is coated with the atoms released from the target in a vacuum chamber by physical vapor deposition. The atoms move through the chamber towards the glass sheet under the guidance of the electric field. They move from the cathode on which the target is arranged to the anode. Due to the arrangement of the glass sheet between the cathode and the anode, a layer is formed on the glass sheet. In the case of magnetron sputtering, an additional magnetic field is arranged behind the cathode, which leads to faster layer growth and a denser, i.e. less porous layer. For example, methods for coating glass sheets using sputtering are known from WO9900528 A1, DE 10126868C1 and WO 2017198363A1.
[0005] Magnetron sputtering is also suitable for coating glass sheets because, unlike many other coating techniques, it can also be used when the glass sheet is curved, as is the case, for example, with glass sheets intended for use in the automotive sector. Selective coating of only certain surface areas can be achieved, for example, by masking off the areas not to be coated.
[0006] Cold gas spraying is also a suitable method for coating glass sheets and is a coating method known to those skilled in the art, in which the powder is applied to the carrier at a very high speed. Methods for coating by cold gas spraying are known, for example, from WO 2010 / 003396 A1, EP 3845685 A1 and EP 2902530 A1.
[0007] The reflective layer in the region of the masking layer allows good visibility of the virtual image with high contrast and appropriate brightness. Hitherto, the dimensions of the masking layer and the reflective layer have been fixed during production, so that in practical applications there are no variations in the opaque area.
[0008] The object of the present invention is to provide an improved laminated glazing having a partially applied reflective layer, with which the abovementioned disadvantages can be overcome. In particular, the laminated glazing should be easy and reliable to produce in industrial continuous production.
[0009] The object of the invention is achieved according to the invention by a laminated glass pane according to claim 1. Preferred embodiments are evident from the dependent claims.
[0010] The laminated glass pane according to the invention comprises an outer glass pane, a thermoplastic interlayer, at least one shielding layer and an inner glass pane. The thermoplastic interlayer is arranged between the outer glass pane and the inner glass pane. The shielding layer is arranged between the outer glass pane and the inner glass pane.
[0011] The laminated glass pane further comprises at least one electrically switchable functional film having a functional layer, the functional layer being switchable between a first switching state having a lower light transmittance and a second switching state having a higher light transmittance by applying an operating voltage. According to the invention, when viewed vertically through the laminated glass pane, the electrically switchable functional film is arranged directly adjacent to the shielding layer or overlaps with an opening in the shielding layer, wherein the shielding layer and the switchable functional film are arranged in one area of the laminated glass pane.
[0012] Furthermore, the laminated glass pane comprises at least one reflective layer for reflecting light on the outer surface and / or the inner surface of the inner glass pane, wherein the reflective layer is arranged completely in the aforementioned region of the laminated glass pane in which the shielding layer and the switchable functional film are arranged when viewed vertically through the laminated glass pane.
[0013] If the electrically switchable functional film is directly adjacent to the shielding layer, the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet defined by the shielding layer can be freely extended. Preferably, in the first switching state, the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet is extended without gaps by the electrically switchable functional film. If the electrically switchable functional film is arranged to overlap with the opening in the shielding layer, the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet defined by the shielding layer can be freely extended, wherein the opening in the shielding layer can be made opaque by the electrically switchable functional film in the first switching state. To this end, when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet, the electrically switchable functional film completely covers the opening in the shielding layer. Therefore, the electrically switchable functional film supplements the shielding layer in the first switching state so as to increase the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet. In other words, the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are used in combination to freely change the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet. In the first switching state of the electrically switchable functional film, based on vertical observation through the laminate, the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet is generated by the combination of the opaque area of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film. In the second switching state, the opaque regions of the laminated glass pane are produced exclusively by the shielding layer.
[0014] When the electrically switchable functional film is in a first switching state with a lower light transmittance, it advantageously allows the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet to be changed, i.e. the opaque area is increased. On the other hand, when the electrically switchable functional film is in a second switching state with a higher light transmittance, the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet can be reduced to the size of the shielding layer, i.e. the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet is reduced. In this way, by electrically switching the electrically switchable functional film, the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet can be freely increased or reduced, and in this way, the relevant requirements can be particularly adapted. For example, in certain driving situations of a motor vehicle, such as parking, it may be desirable for the windshield to have as large a transparent area as possible, while in other driving situations, such as when the vehicle is stationary or during autonomous driving, it may be desirable to display as much information as possible with high contrast, so that the opaque area should be as large as possible.
[0015] The electrically switchable functional film is thus used to increase the size of the opaque region of the laminated glass sheet when the electrically switchable functional film is in a first switching state and, on the other hand, to keep the opaque region unchanged when the electrically switchable functional film is in a second switching state. To this end, the switchable functional film is opaque to visible light in the first switching state and transparent in the second switching state.
[0016] For the purposes of the present invention, "transparent" is understood to mean a transmittance for visible light greater than 30%. Thus, "opaque" is understood to mean a light transmittance of less than 5%, preferably less than 1.5%, in particular at most 0.1%, for example 0%. Particularly preferably, the switchable functional film has a light transmittance of less than 1.5% in the first switching state and a light transmittance of greater than 30% in the second switching state. The electrically switchable functional film is opaque in the first switching state with lower optical transparency and transparent in the second switching state with higher optical transparency.
[0017] Electrically switchable functional films whose optical transparency can be changed are well known to those skilled in the art and are commercially available. These are usually planar electro-optical functional elements having a functional layer (active layer) between two surface electrodes, wherein the optical transparency of the functional layer can be electrically controlled. This means that the optical transparency of the functional film or functional layer can be controlled by applying a voltage (operating voltage), wherein the functional layer is usually opaque in the absence of voltage and transparent in the presence of voltage. Thus, the applied voltage can be used to control the transmittance of visible light through the electro-optical functional element, although such regulation of the optical properties does not usually allow the laminated glass sheets to be illuminated independently.
[0018] The electrical contacting of the functional layers is usually made on busbars which are applied in the edge region of the functional layers and contact the functional layers in an electrically conductive manner. By connecting the busbars to an external voltage source, usually via flat conductors attached to the busbars, the voltage is applied and the functional layers are switched.
[0019] In principle, any electrically switchable functional film can be used, whose optical transparency can be changed by applying an operating voltage and can be switched between an opaque switching state and a transparent switching state. The electrically switchable functional film is preferably a guest-host functional film, an electrochromic functional film, an SPD functional film or a PDLC functional film. Such a functional film can be easily laminated into a laminated glass sheet.
[0020] In particular, electro-optical functional films with functional layers based on liquid crystals, which are based on the so-called "guest-host" effect, show the attractive possibility of realizing electro-optical switching functions in laminated glass panels in a simple space-saving, cost-effective and reliable manner in applications. For the sake of simplicity, electro-optical functional films with functional layers based on liquid crystals based on the "guest-host" effect are referred to as "guest-host functional films" here and below. Guest-host functional films generally include nematic liquid crystals (hosts) with additives (guests), wherein dichroic dye molecules that anisotropically absorb light are used as additives, for example. Since the additive molecules have an elongated form, their orientation can be controlled by the orientation of the liquid crystal molecules, i.e., the host, which is achieved in practice by applying an electric field to the liquid crystal. In this way, the optical transparency of the guest-host functional film can be very accurately controlled by an external electric field. Guest-host functional films with functional layers made of liquid crystal materials with embedded additives are well known to those skilled in the art, so there is no need to discuss them in more detail here. Guest-host functional films, for example under the description of "light control films", are commercially available from, for example, Dai Nippon Printing Co. Ltd., Japan under the product name LCF005 (EO).
[0021] Electrochromic functional films are known, for example, from US20120026573 A1 and W2012007334 A1. SPD functional films (SPD=suspended particle device) are known, for example, from EP 0876608 B1 and WO 2011033313 A1. PDLC functional films (PDLC=polymer dispersed liquid crystal) are known, for example, from DE 102008026339 A1. Such functional films are frequently used in the industrial series production of laminated glass panels and are well known to those skilled in the art and therefore do not need to be discussed in more detail here.
[0022] The laminated glazing according to the invention is preferably arranged in a window of a carrier for separating the interior from the external environment. In the sense of the present invention, the term "inner glazing" refers to the glazing of the laminated glazing facing the interior of the carrier. The outer glazing is understood to mean the glazing facing the external environment.
[0023] In particular, the laminated glass pane has an upper edge and a lower edge and two side edges extending therebetween. The upper edge is understood to mean the edge which is intended to point upwards in the installed position. The lower edge is understood to mean the edge which is intended to point downwards in the installed position. In the case of a windshield, the upper edge is often also referred to as the roof edge and the lower edge as the engine edge.
[0024] The outer pane and the inner pane have an outer and an inner surface, respectively, and a circumferential side edge extending between them. In the sense of the present invention, the outer surface is understood to mean the main surface which is intended to face the external environment when installed. In the sense of the present invention, the inner surface is understood to mean the main surface which is intended to face the interior when installed. The inner surface of the outer pane and the outer surface of the inner pane face each other and are connected to each other by a thermoplastic interlayer. The outer surface of the outer pane is called side I. The inner surface of the outer pane is called side II. The outer surface of the inner pane is called side III. The inner surface of the outer glass and the outer surface of the inner glass face each other.
[0025] According to the present invention, at least one reflective layer for reflecting light is provided on the outer side surface and / or the inner side surface of the inner glass sheet. Thus, a single reflective layer may be provided, which is arranged on the outer side surface of the inner glass sheet or on the inner side surface of the inner glass sheet. Alternatively, two reflective layers may be provided, which are arranged on the outer side surface and the inner side surface of the inner glass sheet.
[0026] When the laminated glass sheet is installed in a carrier, the reflective layer is at a smaller distance from the interior of the carrier than the shielding layer, so that an imaging unit of a projection device arranged inside the carrier has a direct view of the reflective layer and the reflective layer can reflect the light emitted by the imaging unit (virtual image).
[0027] The reflective layer is arranged in an area of the laminated glass sheet, which is completely located in the area in which the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are arranged when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet. Therefore, when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet or vertically through the laminated glass sheet in orthogonal projection, the reflective layer is arranged to cover or overlap the combination of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film. In other words, the reflective layer therefore has no portion that does not overlap with the combination of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film, that is, when viewed from the inside of the laminated glass sheet, the reflective layer is only formed at a position in front of the combination of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film. This ensures high contrast and brightness, and therefore ensures good visibility of the virtual image reflected by the reflective layer, especially when the electrically switchable functional film is in the first switching state (opaque).
[0028] The reflecting layer is used to reflect light. The reflecting layer is preferably opaque or partially transparent, which is understood within the scope of the present invention to mean that its average transmittance in the visible spectral range (according to ISO 9050:2003) is preferably at most 80%, particularly preferably at most 50%, and in particular less than 10%. The reflecting layer preferably reflects at least 10%, particularly preferably at least 50%, and very particularly preferably at least 80%, and in particular at least 90% of the light impinging on the reflecting layer. The reflecting layer preferably reflects p-polarized light and s-polarized light in equal proportions, but it can also reflect p-polarized light and s-polarized light to different degrees. In one embodiment, the light reflected by the reflecting layer mainly comprises p-polarized light, so that the virtual image is clearly visible even when using s-polarized sunglasses. Methods for measuring light reflection are known to those skilled in the art. In this case, the light source (standard light source A) and the detector are arranged on the same side of the reflecting layer, wherein the reflected light is detected by the detector. For example, the light from the light source hits the reflecting surface at an angle of 80° to the normal.
[0029] The light reflected by the reflective layer is preferably visible light, ie light in the wavelength range of about 380 nm to 780 nm.The reflective layer preferably has a high and uniform reflectivity (via different illumination angles) for p-polarized and / or s-polarized radiation, thereby ensuring a strong and color-neutral image rendering.
[0030] The indication of polarization direction refers to the plane of incidence of the radiation on the laminated glazing. P-polarized radiation is radiation whose electric field oscillates in the plane of incidence. S-polarized radiation is radiation whose electric field oscillates perpendicular to the plane of incidence. The plane of incidence is spanned by the incidence vector and the surface normal of the laminated glazing at the geometric center of the irradiated area.
[0031] In other words, the polarization, i.e. in particular the ratio of p-polarized radiation to s-polarized radiation, is determined at a point of the area illuminated by the image display device, preferably in the geometric center of the illuminated area. Since the laminated glass pane can be curved (for example when formed as a windshield), which has an influence on the plane of incidence of the radiation of the image display device, polarization components which deviate slightly therefrom can occur in other areas, which is unavoidable for physical reasons.
[0032] In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reflective layer is a metallic layer, ie a layer which contains metal or consists of metal.
[0033] The reflective layer preferably contains at least one metal selected from the group consisting of aluminum, magnesium, tin, indium, titanium, tantalum, niobium, nickel, copper, chromium, cobalt, iron, manganese, zirconium, cerium, scandium, yttrium, silver, gold, platinum and palladium, ruthenium or mixtures thereof. Aluminum, titanium and / or nickel are preferred because they can have high reflection for p-polarized or s-polarized light. Aluminum is particularly preferred.
[0034] The reflective layer preferably has a thickness of 10 nm (nanometers) to 100 μm (micrometers), particularly preferably 50 nm to 50 μm, in particular 100 nm to 5 μm.
[0035] In a particularly preferred embodiment of the present invention, the reflective layer is a coating containing a thin film stack, i.e. a layer sequence of thin individual layers. The thin film stack comprises one or more conductive layers based on nickel, titanium and / or aluminum. The conductive layer based on nickel, titanium and / or aluminum imparts the reflective layer with basic reflective properties as well as IR-reflective effects and electrical conductivity. The conductive layer is based on nickel, titanium and / or aluminum. The conductive layer preferably contains at least 90% by weight of nickel, titanium and / or aluminum, particularly preferably at least 99% by weight of aluminum, and very particularly preferably at least 99.9% by weight of nickel, titanium and / or aluminum. The layer based on aluminum, nickel and / or titanium may have doping, such as palladium, gold, copper or silver. Materials based on aluminum, nickel and / or titanium are particularly suitable for reflecting light, and p-polarized light is particularly preferred. The use of nickel, titanium and / or aluminum in metal coatings has proven to be particularly advantageous in terms of light reflection. Aluminum, nickel and / or titanium are much cheaper than many other metals such as gold or silver. The individual layers of the thin film stack preferably have a thickness of 10nm to 1μm. The film stack preferably has 2 to 20 individual layers and in particular 5 to 10 individual layers.
[0036] As described above, at least one shielding layer is provided in the laminated glazing according to the invention. The shielding layer is preferably arranged in the edge region of the laminated glazing, which is usually adjacent to the glazing edge of the glazing. When the laminated glazing is used as a windshield in a vehicle, a great advantage of such an arrangement is obtained, because when arranged in the edge region, the shielding layer is located outside the main viewing area of the driver.
[0037] Preferably, the shielding layer is arranged at least along and adjacent to the lower edge. This results in a rectangular opaque band being arranged along the lower edge when the laminated glass sheet is viewed.
[0038] In a particular embodiment of the laminated glass sheet according to the present invention, the shielding layer is designed to extend circumferentially in a frame-like manner. In the portion where the reflective layer is arranged to overlap with the shielding layer, the frame-like shielding layer is provided with, for example, a widening, that is, it has a larger width (perpendicular to the dimension of extension) than in other portions. In this way, the shielding layer (in combination with the electrically switchable functional film) can be appropriately adapted to the size of the reflective layer. In one embodiment, the shielding layer is designed to extend circumferentially in a frame-like manner, and in particular in the portion overlapping with the reflective layer, the shielding layer has a larger width than in a portion different therefrom.
[0039] For example, the reflective layer substantially has a rectangular shape extending in a region near the lower edge between the two side edges. For example, the edge of the reflective layer does not reach the side edge and the lower edge, but is, for example, 2 cm to 5 cm away from them.
[0040] Within the purpose of the present invention, a shielding layer is a layer that prevents observation through the laminated glass sheet. In this case, a transmittance of less than 5%, preferably less than 1.5%, in particular at most 0.1% of the light of the visible spectrum passes through the shielding layer. The shielding layer is therefore an opaque shielding layer, preferably a black shielding layer. Methods for measuring light transmittance are known to those skilled in the art. Here, a light source (standard light source A) is arranged on one side of the shielding layer, and a detector is arranged on the other side of the shielding layer, wherein the transmitted light is detected by the detector.
[0041] The shielding layer is preferably a coating consisting of one or more layers. Alternatively, the shielding layer can also be a colored region of a thermoplastic interlayer. According to a preferred embodiment of the laminated glazing, the shielding layer consists of a single layer. This has the advantage of particularly simple and cost-effective production of the laminated glazing, since only a single layer for the shielding layer has to be formed. The shielding layer is in particular an opaque shielding print made of a dark, preferably black enamel.
[0042] Advantageously, the shielding layer is designed as an opaque shielding print, in particular made of a dark, preferably black enamel, arranged on the inner side surface (side II) of the outer glass pane. Alternatively or additionally, the shielding layer is designed as an opaque shielding print, in particular made of a dark, preferably black enamel, arranged on the outer side surface (side III) of the inner glass pane. In particular, a first opaque shielding print can be provided on the inner side surface (side II) of the outer glass pane, and a second opaque shielding print can be provided on the outer side surface (side III) of the inner glass pane.
[0043] In an alternative embodiment, the concealing layer is designed as an opaquely colored area of the thermoplastic intermediate layer. In one embodiment, the thermoplastic intermediate layer is a one-piece structure and is opaquely colored in one area.
[0044] It is also possible to realize a shielding layer formed as an opaque colored area of a thermoplastic intermediate layer, wherein a thermoplastic intermediate layer composed of an opaque thermoplastic functional film and a transparent thermoplastic functional film is used. The transparent and opaque functional films consist of the same plastic or preferably contain the same plastic. The materials on which the opaque functional film and the transparent functional film can be formed are those also described for the thermoplastic intermediate layer. The opaque functional film is preferably a colored functional film which can have different colors, in particular black.
[0045] In one embodiment of the laminated glass sheet according to the invention, a reflective layer for reflecting light is arranged on the inner surface of the glass sheet, and a protective layer is arranged on the reflective layer. The protective layer is preferably transparent and applied to the reflective layer in a planar manner, in particular uniformly. The protective layer is preferably a polymer based on polyacrylate, polyoxime, alkyd resin, polyurethane or a mixture thereof. The protective layer preferably has a thickness of 50nm to 10μm, and particularly preferably has a thickness of 100nm to 5μm. The protective layer protects the reflective layer from mechanical damage, such as scratches. It can also be used to increase the durability of the reflective layer.
[0046] In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the protective layer is an easy-to-clean layer and / or an "anti-fingerprint" layer. For the purposes of the present invention, an "easy-to-clean layer" is understood to mean that dirt (e.g. in the form of fingerprints, oil spots and dirt particles) on the protective layer can be removed from the protective layer by using a cloth and preferably a microfiber cloth. Thus, grease-dissolving or abrasive cleaning agents and solvents, such as alcohol-based solvents, are largely avoided for the cleaning of the protective layer. For the purposes of the present invention, an "anti-fingerprint layer" is understood to mean a layer in which fingerprints adhering to the protective layer are hardly or not at all visually perceptible. The term "fingerprint" refers in particular to greasy components of human fingers that remain on the surface when the surface is touched and can be unsightly.
[0047] Preferably, the laminated glass pane is curved in one or more spatial directions, as is customary for automotive glazing, with typical radii of curvature being in the range of about 10 cm to about 40 m. However, the laminated glass pane can also be flat, for example if it is provided as a glazing for buses, trains or tractors.
[0048] The thermoplastic interlayer that joins the outer glass pane to the inner glass pane contains at least one thermoplastic polymer, preferably ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or polyurethane (PU), or a mixture or copolymer or derivative thereof, particularly preferably PVB. The thermoplastic interlayer is usually formed by a thermoplastic functional film (joining film). The thickness of the thermoplastic interlayer is preferably 0.2 mm to 2 mm, particularly preferably 0.3 mm to 1 mm, for example 760 μm. The thermoplastic interlayer can be formed by a single film or also by more than one film. The thermoplastic interlayer can also be a film with functional properties, for example a film with sound damping properties.
[0049] The outer pane and the inner pane preferably contain glass or consist of glass, particularly preferably flat glass, float glass, quartz glass, borosilicate glass, soda-lime glass, aluminosilicate glass or transparent plastic, preferably hard transparent plastic, in particular polyethylene, polypropylene, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, polystyrene, polyamide, polyester, polyvinyl chloride and / or mixtures thereof.
[0050] The outer glass pane and the inner glass pane may be transparent and colorless, but may also be tinted or colored. In a preferred embodiment, the total transmittance through the windshield in the main perspective area (light type A) is greater than 70%. The term "total transmittance" relates to the method for testing the light transmittance of the glass panes of a motor vehicle as defined by ECE-R 43, Appendix 3, Section 9.1. Independently of each other, the outer glass pane and the inner glass pane may not be prestressed, may be partially prestressed or may be prestressed. If at least one glass pane is prestressed, this may be thermal prestressing or chemical prestressing.
[0051] The thickness of the outer pane and the inner pane can vary within wide ranges and be adapted accordingly to the requirements in the respective case. The thickness of the outer pane and the inner pane is preferably 0.5 mm to 5 mm, particularly preferably 1 mm to 3 mm, very particularly preferably 1.6 mm to 2.1 mm. For example, the thickness of the outer pane is 2.1 mm and the thickness of the inner pane is 1.6 mm. However, the outer pane or in particular the inner pane can also be thin glass, for example with a thickness of 0.55 mm.
[0052] The laminated glazing according to the invention may comprise one or more additional interlayers, in particular functional interlayers. The additional interlayer may in particular be an interlayer having acoustic damping properties, an interlayer reflecting infrared radiation, an interlayer absorbing OV radiation, an at least partially colored layer and / or an at least partially tinted interlayer. If a plurality of additional interlayers are present, they may also have different functions.
[0053] The invention further relates to a projection device comprising a laminated glass pane according to the invention and an imaging unit of a guided reflective layer.
[0054] Therefore, according to the present invention, there is also a projection device, which comprises:
[0055] - a laminated glass pane comprising an outer glass pane having an outer side surface and an inner side surface, a thermoplastic interlayer, an inner glass pane having an outer side surface and an inner side surface, at least one shielding layer arranged between the outer glass pane and the inner glass pane, at least one electrically switchable functional film which can be switched between a first switching state with a lower light transmittance and a second switching state with a higher light transmittance by applying an operating voltage, wherein the electrically switchable functional film is arranged directly adjacent to the shielding layer or overlaps an opening in the shielding layer when viewed vertically through the laminated glass pane, wherein the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are arranged in one region of the laminated glass pane, at least one reflecting layer for reflecting light on the outer side surface and / or the inner side surface of the inner glass pane, wherein the reflecting layer is arranged completely in the region of the laminated glass pane in which the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are arranged when viewed vertically through the layers,
[0056] - and an imaging unit directed to the reflective layer.
[0057] The combination of a reflective layer with a shielding layer behind the reflective layer and an electrically switchable functional film ensures good visibility of the virtual image in the projection device according to the invention from the perspective of the vehicle passengers, even when there is external sunlight and when a low-light imaging unit is used. Even in these cases, the image generated by the imaging unit appears bright and can be perfectly seen. This makes it possible to reduce the power of the imaging unit and thus reduce energy consumption.
[0058] From the perspective of a vehicle passenger, the reflective layer is spatially arranged in front of the combination of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film when viewed through the inner glass pane. As a result, the area of the laminated glass pane in which the reflective layer is arranged appears opaque. The expression "when viewed through the laminated glass pane" is to be understood as meaning viewing through the laminated glass pane starting from the inner side surface of the laminated glass pane. The expression "spatially in front of..." as used in the present invention is to be understood as meaning that the reflective layer is arranged spatially further away from the outer side surface of the outer glass pane than the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film.
[0059] The imaging unit of the projection device emits light and is arranged near the inner surface of the inner glass pane so that the imaging unit illuminates this surface, wherein the light is reflected by the reflective layer of the laminated glass pane. The reflective layer preferably reflects at least 10%, particularly preferably at least 50%, very particularly preferably at least 80%, and in particular at least 90% of the light incident on the reflective layer in the wavelength range of 400 nm to 700 nm and at a radiation angle of 55° to 80°. This is advantageous for achieving the highest possible brightness of the image emitted by the imaging unit and reflected on the reflective layer.
[0060] The imaging unit is used to emit images, and therefore can also be referred to as a projector, a display device or an image display device. For example, a display or other devices known to those skilled in the art can be used as an imaging unit. The imaging unit is preferably a display, particularly preferably an LCD display, an LED display, an OLED display or an electroluminescent display, in particular an LCD display. The display has a low installation height and is therefore simply integrated into the dashboard of the vehicle in a space-saving manner. In addition, the display can be operated in a significantly more energy-efficient manner than other imaging units. In the combination of the reflective layer according to the present invention with the shielding layer below and the electrically switchable functional film, the relatively low brightness of the display is completely sufficient. The radiation of the imaging unit is preferably irradiated into the reflective layer region at an incident angle of 55° to 80°, preferably 62° to 77°, on the laminated glass plate. The angle of incidence is the angle between the incident vector of the radiation of the image display device and the surface normal of the geometric center of the reflective layer.
[0061] The imaging unit is advantageously designed in such a way that the entire area consisting of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet) or only the area of the shielding layer is free for reflection on the reflective layer alone. In other words, the image can be generated by the imaging unit in such a way that it is reflected by the reflective layer in the area overlapping with the combination of the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film (in vertical observation through the laminated glass sheet). Therefore, the image is also reflected by the area of the reflective layer overlapping with the electrically switchable functional film (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet). In this case, the electrically switchable functional film is in the first switching state (opaque). On the other hand, the imaging unit can generate an image in such a way that it is reflected by the reflective layer in the area overlapping only with the shielding layer and therefore not with the electrically switchable functional film (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet). In this case, the electrically switchable functional film can be in the second switching state (transparent).
[0062] The configuration of the laminated glass pane according to the invention described above also applies correspondingly to the projection device according to the invention, and vice versa.
[0063] According to the present invention, there is provided a method for producing a laminated glass panel according to the present invention, comprising:
[0064] a) providing an outer glass pane having an outer surface (I) and an inner surface (II), a thermoplastic interlayer and an inner glass pane having an outer surface (III) and an inner surface (IV);
[0065] b) Steps i) to iii):
[0066] i) forming at least one shielding layer arranged between an outer glass pane and an inner glass pane, and ii) arranging at least one electrically switchable functional film which can be switched between a first switching state with a lower light transmittance and a second switching state with a higher light transmittance by applying an operating voltage so that it is arranged directly adjacent to the shielding layer or overlaps with an opening in the shielding layer when viewed vertically through the laminated glass pane, wherein the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are arranged in one area of the laminated glass pane, and
[0067] iii) forming at least one reflective layer for reflecting light on the outer surface (III) and / or the inner surface (IV) of the inner glass pane, wherein when viewed vertically through the laminated glass pane, the reflective layer is formed entirely within the region of the laminated glass pane where the shielding layer and the electrically switchable functional film are arranged,
[0068] c) Connecting the outer pane and the inner pane by means of a thermoplastic interlayer, wherein the thermoplastic interlayer is arranged between the outer pane and the inner pane.
[0069] The steps may be performed in the order given, simultaneously or in a different order.Step c) occurs after steps a) and b).
[0070] If the laminated glass pane is curved, a curved outer glass pane and a curved inner glass pane are inserted in step a). In step c), the laminate is produced by a lamination method familiar to the person skilled in the art. When the reflective layer is produced in step b), it can be applied by generally known coating methods, such as magnetron sputtering or cold gas spraying.
[0071] The embodiments of the laminated glass pane according to the invention described above also apply correspondingly to the method according to the invention for producing a laminated glass pane.
[0072] The invention also relates to the use of the laminated glass pane according to the invention as vehicle glazing in land, air or water transportation vehicles, in particular in motor vehicles, and in particular as windshield for head-up displays.
[0073] The various embodiments of the present invention can be realized alone or in any combination. In particular, the features described above and to be explained below can be used not only in the specified combination but also in other combinations or alone without departing from the scope of the present invention.

[0088] Figure 1 and 2 Each shows a plan view of an embodiment of a laminated glass panel 100 according to the present invention, and Figure 3 In the figure, the cutting line XX′ is depicted. Figure 1 A cross-sectional view of a laminated glass panel 100 is shown.
[0089] Figure 1 and 2The laminated glass panel 100 shown has an upper edge O, a lower edge U and two side edges S. In addition, the laminated glass panel 100 comprises an outer glass panel 1 having an outer surface I and an inner surface II, an inner glass panel 2 having an outer surface III and an inner surface IV, a thermoplastic interlayer 3, a first shielding layer 4 and a second shielding layer 8. The thermoplastic interlayer 3 is arranged between the outer glass panel 1 and the inner glass panel 2. The outer glass panel 1, the thermoplastic interlayer 3 and the inner glass panel 2 are arranged one on top of the other over the entire surface. The first shielding layer 4 is arranged between the thermoplastic interlayer 3 and the inner glass panel 2 in a region of the laminated glass panel 100 whose surface coverage is less than that of the laminated glass panel 100, i.e., the first shielding layer 4 does not extend over the entire surface of the laminated glass panel 100. The second shielding layer 8 is arranged between the thermoplastic interlayer 3 and the outer glass pane 1 in a region of the laminated glass pane 100 whose surface coverage is less than that of the laminated glass pane 100, i.e. the second shielding layer 8 does not extend over the entire surface of the laminated glass pane 100. Figure 1 and 2 In the embodiment shown, the two shielding layers 4, 8 are each formed as an opaque shielding print and are arranged only in the edge region of the laminated glass pane 100 adjacent to the lower edge U. Figure 1 and 2 In the embodiment shown, the two shielding layers 4 , 8 extend between the two side edges S of the laminated glass pane 100 and have a width of, for example, 30 cm starting from the lower edge U of the laminated glass pane 100 .
[0090] The laminated glass panel 100 further comprises an electrically switchable functional film 6 which can be switched between a first switching state with a lower light transmittance (opaque) and a second switching state with a higher light transmittance (transparent) by applying an operating voltage. Figure 1 In the embodiment, when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet 100, the electrically switchable functional film 6 is arranged to (completely) overlap with the opening 7 of the first shielding layer 4. In the first switching state, the opening 7 of the first shielding layer 4 can be made opaque by the electrically switchable functional film 6. Figure 2 In FIG. 1 , when vertically viewing through the laminated glass sheet 100, the electrically switchable functional film 6 is arranged directly adjacent to the first shielding layer 4 so as to increase the opaque area (without a gap) of the laminated glass sheet 100. Figure 2In the embodiment, the first shielding layer 4 has no openings. In other words, the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 are used in combination to freely change the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass 100 as needed. In the first switching state of the electrically switchable functional film 6, based on the vertical observation through the laminate 100, the opaque area of the laminated glass 100 is generated by the combination of the opaque area of the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6. In the second switching state, the opaque area of the laminated glass 100 is formed by the first shielding layer 4 alone. Figure 1 and 2 In the embodiment, the electrically switchable functional films 6 are respectively in a transparent switching state.
[0091] The electrically switchable functional film 6 is a guest-host functional film, an electrochromic functional film, an SPD functional film or a PDLC functional film. Typical values of optical transparency (TL) and typical haze values of the electrically switchable functional film are shown in the following table:
[0092]
[0093]
[0094] In addition, the laminated glass panel 100 includes a reflective layer 5 for reflecting light on the outer surface (III) of the inner glass panel 2, wherein when the laminated glass panel 100 is observed vertically, the reflective layer 5 is completely arranged in the area of the laminated glass panel 100 where the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 are arranged.
[0095] Figure 3 Shows Figure 1 A modification of the embodiment of , in which both shielding layers 4, 8 are designed to extend circumferentially in a frame-like manner, wherein the width of the area of the shielding layers 4, 8 arranged to overlap with the reflective layer 5 (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass plate 100) is wider than the remaining parts of the shielding layers 4, 8. Figure 1 and 2 In the figure, for the sake of simplicity, the frame-like periphery of the shielding layer 4 is not shown.
[0096] The thermoplastic intermediate layer 3 contains PVB, for example, and has a thickness of 0.76 mm. The outer glass pane 1 consists, for example, of soda-lime glass and has a thickness of 2.1 mm. The inner glass pane 2 consists, for example, of soda-lime glass and has a thickness of 1.6 mm.
[0097] It should be understood that the laminated glass panel 100 can have any suitable geometric shape and / or curvature. Typically, the laminated glass panel 100 is a curved laminated glass panel. For example, the laminated glass panel 100 is a windshield of a motor vehicle.
[0098] Figure 4A cross-section through an embodiment of a projection device 101 according to the invention is shown. Figure 4 The projection device 101 shown comprises a laminated glass plate 100 and an imaging unit 9. The imaging unit 9 is used to generate p-polarized light and / or s-polarized light (image information), which is directed to the reflective layer 5 and reflected by the reflective layer 5 as reflected light into the interior of the vehicle, where it can be perceived by an observer (e.g. a driver). The reflective layer 5 is suitably designed to reflect the light of the imaging unit 9. The light preferably impinges on the reflective layer 5 at an incident angle of 55° to 80°, in particular at an incident angle of 62° to 77°. The imaging unit 9 is, for example, a display, in particular an LCD display. Preferably, the imaging unit 9 is used to generate only p-polarized light, which can be seen well in particular with polarized sunglasses having an s-polarization filter.
[0099] The imaging unit 9 is designed so that the image is directed onto the reflective surface 5 in the following manner, i.e., so that the area of the reflective layer 5 overlapping with the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 or the area of the reflective layer 5 overlapping only with the first shielding layer 4 is free for reflection (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass plate 100).
[0100] Figure 5A Shows Figure 1 A cross-sectional view of the embodiment shown, in which the electrically switchable functional film 6 is in a transparent switching state (no operating voltage is applied). In this case, the opaque area of the laminated glass sheet 100 is reduced to the first shielding layer 4, i.e. the opening 7 is transparent. The image generated by the imaging unit 9 is generated in such a way that it is reflected by the reflective layer 5 in an area that overlaps only with the first shielding layer 4 and therefore not with the electrically switchable functional film 6 (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass sheet).
[0101] Figure 5B Shows Figure 1 A cross-sectional view of the embodiment shown, in which the electrically switchable functional film 6 is in an opaque switching state (operating voltage is applied). In this case, the opaque area of the laminated glass plate 100 is produced by the combination of the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6, that is, the entire opening 7 is opaque. The image generated by the imaging unit 9 is generated in the following manner, that is, it is reflected by the reflective layer 5 in the area overlapping with the combination of the first shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 (when viewed vertically through the laminated glass plate 100).
[0102] exist Figure 1 In an embodiment in which the two shielding layers 4, 8 each have an opening, the portion of the shielding layers 4, 8 located closer to the upper edge O can be used to arrange the electrical connections of the electrically switchable functional film 6 in a hidden manner.
[0103] Fig. 7A and7B A further embodiment of a laminated glass panel 100 according to the invention is shown. Fig. 7A The embodiment shown in cross section in Fig. 6A )and Fig. 6A The embodiment shown in is different only in that the reflective layer 5 is not arranged on the outer surface (side III) of the inner pane 2 but on the inner surface (side IV) of the inner pane 2 . Figure 7B The embodiment shown in cross section in Figure 6B )and Figure 6B The embodiment shown in FIG. 1 differs only in that the reflective layer 5 is not arranged on the outer surface (side III) of the inner glass pane 2 but on the inner surface (side IV) of the inner glass pane 2 . Fig. 7A and 7B , the electrically switchable functional film 6 is shown again in the transparent switching state ( Fig. 7A ) and opaque toggle states ( Figure 7B ).
[0104] Fig. 8A and 8B Shown based on Figure 2 The plan view of an embodiment of a laminated glass panel according to the present invention shows a change in the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass panel 100. Fig. 8A In the case of the electrically switchable functional film 6, the electrically switchable functional film 6 is in a transparent switching state; in the case of Figure 8B By switching the electrically switchable functional film 6 , the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass panel 100 can be changed in a simple manner.
[0105] exist Fig. 9 An exemplary embodiment of the method according to the invention is shown in FIG. 1 using a flow chart.
[0106] In step S1 , the outer glass pane 1 has an outer side surface I and an inner side surface II, and the thermoplastic interlayer 3 and the inner glass pane 2 have an outer side surface III and an inner side surface IV.
[0107] In step S2, which includes multiple sub-steps,
[0108] at least one shielding layer 4 is formed and arranged between the outer pane 1 and the inner pane 2,
[0109] at least one electrically switchable functional film 6, which can be switched between a first switching state with lower light transmittance and a second switching state with higher light transmittance by applying an operating voltage, which is arranged directly adjacent to the shielding layer 4 or overlaps with the opening 7 in the shielding layer 4 when viewed vertically through the laminated glass panel 100, wherein the shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 are arranged in one area of the laminated glass panel 100,
[0110] - forming at least one reflective layer 5 for reflecting light on the outer side surface (III) and / or the inner side surface (IV) of the inner glass pane 2, wherein when the laminated glass pane 100 is viewed vertically, the reflective layer 5 is formed completely in the region of the laminated glass pane 100 where the shielding layer 4 and the electrically switchable functional film 6 are arranged,
[0111] In step S3 , the outer glass pane 1 and the inner glass pane 2 are connected via a thermoplastic intermediate layer 3 , wherein the thermoplastic intermediate layer 3 is arranged between the outer glass pane 1 and the inner glass pane 2 .
[0112] Steps S1 , S2 and S3 may be performed in any order or simultaneously, wherein step S3 occurs after steps S1 and S2 .
[0113] As can be seen from the above, the present invention provides an improved laminated glass panel, wherein the size of the opaque area of the laminated glass panel can be freely changed by switching at least one electrically switchable functional film. Thus, the image of the projector can be reflected by areas of different sizes of the reflective layer, wherein the virtual image can be visually well perceived with sufficient brightness and high contrast, so that good visibility, in particular good visibility of safety-related information, is reliably ensured under all weather and lighting conditions. In particular, if the maximum possible see-through area through the laminated glass panel is required, the opaque area of the laminated glass panel can be freely reduced to the opaque area of the shielding layer. In addition, undesired secondary images can be avoided. In industrial mass production, the laminated glass panel can be manufactured efficiently and cost-effectively, wherein the production of the laminated glass panel can be easily realized in ordinary manufacturing processes.
