[0059] Geranium oil consists essentially of a combination of three monoterpene alcohols, namely, citronellol (18%-32%), geraniol (8%-20%), and linalool (1.8%-11%), and the corresponding terpene esters.

[0060] Geranium oil is prepared by conventional distillation using geranium leaves and stems via steam entrainment.

[0061] Steam entrainment is equivalent to the evaporation of a substance that is slightly miscible in water in the presence of steam. The raw material is placed in a still in contact with boiling water or steam. The steam entrains the essential oil vapor, which is condensed in a condenser and recovered as a liquid phase in a Florentine vase (or essence pot), in which the essential oil is separated from the water by sedimentation. Once the separation of the essential oil has been carried out, the aqueous fraction that remains after steam entrainment is called "fragrant water" or "hydrosol" or "distilled flower water". An example of geranium oil according to the invention that may be mentioned is the geranium oil produced by Elixens under the name Pelargonium Graveolens Flower. Products for sale.

[0104] 1) Place 40 mL of sample into a 60 mL glass bottle, and prepare 7 bottles for each composition to be tested; 2) One bottle was placed under UV light (for UV testing); one bottle was placed at room temperature, one bottle was placed in a refrigerator at 4°C, one bottle was placed in an oven at 37°C, one bottle was placed in an oven at 45°C, and one bottle was placed in an oven at 55°C (for stability testing at different temperatures); and one bottle was placed in an oven with a temperature cycle from -20°C to 20°C (for cyclic stability); and 3) For UV stability testing, observe the appearance of the sample after 24 hours; for stability testing at room temperature, 4°C, 37°C and 45°C, observe the appearance of the sample after 2 months; for stability testing at 55°C, observe the appearance of the sample after 1 week; or for cyclic stability testing, observe the appearance of the sample after 10 days.

[0105] If after all the stability tests mentioned above, the composition shows no visible change in appearance, color and odor, and its viscosity and pH and particle size of emulsion droplets do not change by more than 7%, the stability of the composition is evaluated as passed, otherwise it is evaluated as failed.

[0106] The results of viscosity and stability of each composition prepared above are summarized in Table 3. Table 3 nature IE.1 IE.2 CE.1 Viscosity (UD) 65(M3) 50-75(M2) 43(M3) stability Stablize Stablize Stablize

[0107] Cosmetic performance (TIMM efficacy) The cosmetic properties of the compositions of Inventive Examples 1-2 and the composition of Comparative Example 1 were evaluated as follows.

[0108] 62 female consumers aged 20-45 were invited to apply the composition to be evaluated, and fill in a questionnaire on skin smoothness, texture, and fineness after applying the composition to be evaluated, based on their satisfaction.

[0109] Performance levels were given based on the following criteria as to whether (i) the skin felt softer, (ii) the skin texture was finer, and (iii) the skin felt smoother. Consumer agreement rate (%) Performance Level 90 and above Excellent 80-90 very good 70-80 good 60-70 medium Below 60 No obvious effect

[0110] The results for consumer agreement rates and performance levels are summarized in Table 4 below. Table 4

[0111] As can be seen from Table 4, compared with the composition of Comparative Example 1, the compositions of Inventive Examples 1 and 2 perform better in terms of skin softness, fineness and smoothness.
